President Obama Allegedly Sent This Congratulatory Letter to a Recently-Married Gay Couple

President Barack Obama has characterized his views on same-sex marriage as “evolving.” While he has traditionally opposed gay marriage, some intriguing developments — including a wedding card he purportedly sent to a gay couple — are leading to questions surrounding whether he’ll soon change his mind. With the campaign cycle heating up, this may be a demographic he’ll more actively pursue. Regarding the alleged note: A recently-married gay couple has come forward saying that they received a random card from the president. The note, which offers them well-wishes as they start their life together, may be further evidence that Obama is preparing to turn a corner on his views on gay matrimonies (or, at the least, it‘s an indicator that he’s ready to actively pursue votes among this electoral cohort).

The letter, which was dated Dec. 8, 2011, offers congratulations “on this special occasion.“ It goes on to say that both Michelle and the president ”hope it is blessed with love, laughter, and happiness.”

Via Fox News Insider, this clip shouldn’t be as gratifying as it is. Surely no one needs Bill Clinton to tell them that the press was neck-deep in the tank for The Unicorn Prince in 2008. But it is gratifying, partly because of the hint of lingering resentment in Clinton’s reaction and partly because of the extra little shadow of illegitimacy it casts on Obama’s victory.

It’s no secret that BJ didn’t think much of O during the campaign — remember this infamous exchange he reportedly had with Ted Kennedy? — but to see him acknowledge this when we’re on the cusp of another campaign where the media will be neck-deep in the tank for Obama is oddly comforting. Forget the bit at the end where he hedges on media bias against the GOP and never mind that, if asked, he would surely say he thinks Obama would have beat Hillary without the press’s help (she did end up winning New Hampshire, after all).

Those are stock answers that any good soldier would offer for his party. The one about Hillary is not, which is what makes it so striking. No one’s under any illusions about the media’s corruption, including the elder statesmen in their favored party.

In June of 1976, I was Ron Paul’s speechwriter. Shortly after I joined his staff as his newsletter writer and economic analyst, I recommended that he do what I had been doing for a year: buy a Code-A-Phone telephone answering machine and make a weekly 3-minute recording for people in his districts to call. He could send the tape to his office in the district, where the machine would be set up at a local phone number. Residents could call it for free. He thought this was a good idea. So began his weekly speeches.

I wrote his first talk. He later told me that he didn’t like reading a script written by anyone else, so he had decided to record his own. As far as I know, that was the last speech anyone ever wrote for him.

He used that machine for the next two-and-a-half years. After his defeat in November 1976, he posted a weekly phone message. The weekly report became a tool for a comeback. In 1978, he defeated the man who had barely defeated him (268 votes) in 1976.

So, having been his only speechwriter, I will now offer my second speech that he will not deliver.

Before the economic crisis of 2008 there were few who considered the possibility of The End of The World As We Know It (TEOTWAWKI). We were aware of the threats posed by natural disasters – Tsunamis in Asia, earthquakes along the western Americas, and hurricanes in the Gulf.

But the notion that the very system in which we live is susceptible to a man-made shock so powerful that it could wipe out the very infrastructure that keeps us alive was an outlier so far removed from our daily reality that it was reserved for Hollywood scripts and obscure conspiracy web sites.

But the possibility of a system collapse so severe that it could cripple our and monetary systems, food distribution networks, and emergency response services is now becoming a real concern for people all over the world.

The warning by economists that Britain is just ‘nine meals from anarchy’ is brutally borne out. Unlike last summer, the rioters on the streets aren’t looking for trainers and flat-screen TVs — just food.

RUSH: Let me tell you something. The Washington Post, ABC — I think it’s them — they had a poll out today that shows Obama’s approval numbers are coming back. And I want to remind you that I have warned you this kind of thing is going to happen. The unemployment number is going to precipitously drop and it’s going to get close to 8% by next November. Just mark my words. That’s in the can. It’s in the cards. Also, Obama’s approval number now is up five points over the last three months or some such thing. Not sure of the time frame, but it’s up the highest since last summer, and this is being heralded. Now, clearly, if you go through, if you look at the story reporting this, you find that there is still overwhelming disapproval with Obama’s policies, profound disapproval of his policies, but his overall job approval number is up five points…..

Obama Administration Endangered Lives to Justify Gun Control

The Fast and the Furious (1955 film)

Posted on Tuesday, December 20, 2011 4:51:29 PM by neverdem

In all of my years fighting on behalf of the National Rifle Association to defend the Second Amendment, I never thought I would see a White House so vehemently opposed to gun ownership that it would be willing to arm violent criminals and endanger American lives in pursuit of a gun control agenda. Readers will recall that a little over two months ago, in this same space, I wrote:

“I would like to believe that President Barack Obama and Attorney General Eric Holder – no matter how much they oppose our Second Amendment rights – would never break the law and endanger human lives in their mission to score political points against gun owners…

“However, to believe all of this, I would have to ignore a lot of facts.”

And now, according to new documents obtained by CBS News, we are faced with the fact that the Obama administration helped transfer illegal guns to drug cartels in Mexico to build a case for gun control – specifically, gun registration – here in America.

“If these reports are true, even by Washington standards this reaches a new level of arrogance and corruption,” remarked Senator John Cornyn (R-TX). Unfortunately, Sen. Cornyn is not exaggerating.

On July 14, 2010, Mark Chait, who served as Assistant Director for Field Operations for the Bureau of Alcohol, Firearms, Tobacco and Explosives (BATFE) sent an email to Bill Newell, BATFE’s special agent in charge of operation “Fast and Furious.” Chait’s email said:

“Bill, can you see if these guns were all purchased from the same (licensed gun dealer) and at one time? We are looking at anecdotal cases to support a demand letter on long-gun sales. Thanks.”

Just six months later, after a press conference to announce arrests made in “Fast and Furious,” Chait emailed Newell again, saying:

“Bill–well done yesterday… (I)n light of our request for Demand letter 3, this case could be a strong supporting factor if we can determine how many multiple sales of long guns occurred during the course of this case.”

“Demand letter 3″ is a letter sent to U.S. firearms dealers in the four southwest border states, demanding that they register sales of more than one semi-automatic rifle to the same person within five business days.

Under its “Fast and Furious” operation, Obama’s BATFE had been forcing licensed firearms dealers to sell semi-automatic rifles to shady straw purchasers, who would then supply them to drug cartels in Mexico.

But again, I mention these two stories today, because, frankly, a person said, “Rush, Rush, why didn’t you tell us about this?” And that person obviously can’t listen every day. I did tell you, and led on both of them. But it told me maybe some people don’t know because it’s not been anywhere but this show.

So the Gallup news on most people, 64%, think big government’s the problem, Obama can’t win with white working class votes, I think that is so huge.

It’s amazing and this Edsall guy admits it. So just trying to keep your spirits up because I know what’s headed our way. Shortly after the turn of the year, I know what’s coming…..

RUSH: I want to repeat something else, ladies and gentlemen, that is from an earlier program, just as I repeated the Thomas B. I’m doing this because when I saw that poll out today, Washington Post, ABC poll, Obama’s approval numbers up five points, I knew what was in store for us. I knew what was ahead, and I know what they’re trying to do to you.

Here’s what they know. They know that you, as Tea Party members or as conservatives, they know that you are not happy with the Republican Party, and that makes them very happy. They know that you don’t think you have anybody fighting for you. They know that the people you would prefer to be nominated having that vote split. They are very much aware that you are unhappy with the country the way it is, and that your hope that your energy is rooted in having that all change, Obama defeated, right people elected president and to Congress, we start reversing some of the size of government, the spending and all that.

Prison Planet.com » Branstad’s Act Of Sabotage An Outrageous Attempt To Tamper With Election Process

December 20, 2011 6 comments

Iowa Governor Terry Branstad’s rhetorical act of sabotage against his own state’s Republican primary, with his insistence that a potential Ron Paul victory should be ignored, represents an outrageous attempt to tamper with the election process.

As we reported earlier, Branstad told Politico that a Paul victory in the primary should be dismissed, urging Republicans to ignore the legitimacy of the result if the Texan Congressman comes out on top, which recent polls suggest he has a very good chance of doing. Politico adds that many fear “such a result….would do irreparable harm to the future role of the first-in-the-nation caucuses.”

“People are going to look at who comes in second and who comes in third,” said Branstad, adding, ““If [Mitt] Romney comes in a strong second, it definitely helps him going into New Hampshire and the other states,” comments taken to mean that Republicans should “ignore” Ron Paul, according to Politico’s Jonathan Martin and Alexander Burns.

Branstad’s comments represent a treasonous effort to delegitimize the veracity of his own state’s primary. There are truly no depths to which establishment stooges like Branstad will sink in order to denigrate Ron Paul’s campaign.

Far from a potential Paul victory causing “irreparable harm” to the Iowa primary, as Politico would have it, Branstad himself has already done “irreparable harm” to the sanctity of future caucuses in the state.

Branstad is not only attempting to sabotage Paul’s campaign, he is directly undermining citizens in his own state by openly declaring that their vote is worthless, even though Paul is the current frontrunner.

The Governor has indicated said that he probably won’t endorse a candidate before the Jan. 3 caucuses in Iowa.

However, in an Associated Press interview last week, Branstad said he didn’t think Newt Gingrich “has the discipline and focus to be president”.

A d v e r t i s e m e n t

If Branstad is rooting for anyone, it’s clearly Mitt Romney. Prominent Romney supporters are even trying to groom Branstad into becoming a candidate for Vice President under a Romney administration.

“1996 GOP presidential nominee Bob Dole broached the idea of Branstad as No. 2 on the ticket. Dole reportedly called Branstad this weekend to let him know he would be endorsing Mitt Romney for president, and said he’d like to recommend Iowa’s governor as a possible running mate,” reports USA Today.

Most alternative doctors have been against aspirin for a long time because it damages the stomach lining and causes kidney and liver damage. Aspirin is responsible for a significant number of emergency room visits because it causes gastrointestinal bleeding.

New studies are now showing that an aspirin a day actually increases risk of stroke and heart attack in 40 percent of the people who take it. Research is also showing that long term use of aspirin increases your risk of macular degeneration and cataracts by as much as 44 percent.

From rightly heralding the Iowa primary as a crucial indicator as to who will eventually capture the GOP nomination, the establishment has closed ranks and now decided that a Ron Paul victory doesn’t count and that the focus will be on who finishes second.

A Politico article entitled Ron Paul panic seizes Iowa establishment perfectly illustrates the supreme arrogance of the very political elite Paul is fighting against and goes a step beyond Fox News pundit Chris Wallace’s insistence that the Iowa result “won’t count” if Ron Paul wins.

Despite the fact that two out of the last three winners of the Iowa primary have gone on to successfully capture the Republican nomination, the political class have decided that Ron Paul doesn’t deserve the opportunity to build the same kind of momentum, and that a victory for him in Iowa “would do irreparable harm to the future role of the first-in-the-nation caucuses.”

DAVENPORT, Iowa – Newt Gingrich saw the enemy Monday, and his name was Ron Paul.

Without speaking Paul’s name, Gingrich took dead aim at the Texas congressman who’s crept up in state polls as he’s started to tumble, and is looking increasingly likely to run strong in the caucuses.

Focusing on their foreign policy differences, Gingrich painted Paul as unprepared for the presidency and a threat to American safety.

“I will stand apart from some of our candidates and believe we need a strong defense, we need a fairly modernized intelligence community,” Gingrich said during a five-minute opening statement. “I think this is very serious stuff and I hope that every caucus-goer, before they vote on Jan. 3, would ask themselves about how dangerous the world is and whether or not we need somebody who has a background and understands that.”

Ron Paul is doing surprisingly well this year in some of the early primary state polls. There’s a simple reason for that: Most people in the conservative media have concluded he can’t win the nomination, they don’t want to get yelled at by his supporters, and so they’ve laid off of him while most of the other candidates have had to face ferocious criticism. I’d be content to ignore Paul, too, except for the fact that there’s an outside chance he could win Iowa, which is of course, perfectly ridiculous. Why is that ridiculous?
