Marine Lt. Col. Karl Trenker has a message for the criminal who shot him.
“If he didn’t have a pistol I would’ve whipped his butt,” the Miramar resident said.
Trenker’s fiancé advertised a gold necklace on Craigslist, hoping to drum up a little more cash for some Christmas presents.
When Trenker went to the arranged meeting place outside an apartment complex in Deerfield Beach, the would-be buyers snatched the chain and took off running. Trenker gave chase.
“I did not perceive any danger, and being a Marine and all I’m not one to back down from a fight, so I was going to get my necklace back,” said the father of five.
Deputies say Jeff Steele and James Flounory, both 20, are the suspects.
While Trenker was chasing them Wednesday, Steele allegedly turned and fired several shots. At least three hit the Marine. He used his fingers to plug his wounds, then ran back to his pickup truck to assure his four kids he would be OK.
“I can’t believe it, I go to Iraq and Afghanistan multiple times and I haven’t been shot or blown up,” Trenker said Friday. “I’m here at home in Florida, and here I am riding away in an ambulance with a bunch of gunshot wounds.”

Inviting Espionage: The administration is considering reviving a ’90s-era nuclear scientist exchange program with China. Does no one in the White House remember how much damage the previous arrangement caused?
Of the many regrettable initiatives dreamed up by the Clinton administration, few were as perverse as the nuclear scientist exchange program. The arrangement turned out to be a gift to the Chinese, who were able to steal U.S. nuclear secrets virtually in plain sight.
Either unable or unwilling to learn from the past, the Obama administration wants to bring the program back. The Washington Times reports that “Deputy Energy Secretary Daniel B. Poneman is working on a major Obama administration initiative that would renew scientist exchanges between U.S. nuclear weapons laboratories and Chinese nuclear facilities.”
Why Ayn Rand Scares the Left

If there is any intellectual of the last 100 years who scares the Left, it is Ayn Rand. One needs only to search her name on the internet and they will find that she is perhaps more abused and insulted than Milton Friedman and Reagan. Often the charges that most attack her with can be boiled down to “She believes that people should be self-centered bastards and not give a damn about anyone else.”
While anyone who has taken the time to read her fiction and nonfiction works knows that the above claim isn’t accurate, the fact that Rand is the target of so many wannabe-commentators reveals the amount of anger that the woman brings out in the Left. The question honestly begs to be asked – why? Why does this Russian immigrant, who died in 1982, bring Liberals to the use of such vitriol and character assassination?
The answer is actually quite simple – she makes sense. She is to Socialism what David was to Goliath and the Left simply doesn’t know how to respond to her except to demagogue and paint her as a puppet to the elitists. Unlike some of the more pacifistic fighters for the Right and Libertarianism Rand doesn’t hold back, if anything she removes the veil that the Progressive and Socialist movement has used for decades – the veil of “the Greater Good”. It had been this façade that left far too many Conservatives stammering during the New Deal, with the passing of Social Security, and the growth of Welfare. However she tore it off with her philosophy of the Individual and showed the true face of the Left with her novels.

Apparently there is one other individual in Georgia who is being represented by Liberty Law Foundation. Here is the motion to separate:

Quite frankly, and I know Dr. Taitz’s supporters will beat me up on this, I fully support Irion’s move. The issue is ballot eligibility, not Obama using a fake SSN, his passports or anything else.
Their law firm has also filed in New Hampshire. Here is the document:

We’ve all learned a great deal over the past three years from the cases kicked to the curb. Secretaries of State throughout the country maintain their job is only ministerial. It is the RNC and DNC and “third” parties who are required to vet any candidate for eligibility regardless of office sought.
I will be sending out the Items Missed a little bit later. I know this is a lot of reading, but with the Christmas holiday, folks might have extra time to get up to speed.
I would also recommend visiting Liberty Law Foundation’s site – they are quite busy:

ACCORDING TO AUTHOR OF CRS MEMOS, “YES”
by Creg Maroney
Kim Jong-Un is the youngest son and designated new leader of North Korea following his father’s death on December 17, 2011
(Dec. 23, 2011) — Mr. Jack Maskell titles himself as ” legislative attorney in the American Law Division of Congressional Research Service.” He has sent out more then one memo with half truths trying to manipulate and mislead congress and the citizens of the United States. According to Mr. Maskell and the Congressional Research Service Kim Jong-Un, the son of the late North Korean dictator Kim Jong-Il, could have been President of the United States if only his birth had taken place on U.S. soil. He also appears to confirm that Un’s parents’ foreign citizenship would have no burden on the requirements for the Presidency or commander of the entire U.S. Armed Forces.
The Congressional Research Service is described as “a legislative branch agency within the Library of Congress,” which is defined as “the nation’s oldest federal cultural institution, is the world’s preeminent reservoir of knowledge, providing unparalleled integrated resources to Congress and the American people.”

Fears over burgeoning police state increase after passage of NDAA
Friday, December 23, 2011
Congress is set to give the green light on funding for a massive expansion of TSA checkpoints, with the federal agency already responsible for over 9,000 such checkpoints in the last year amidst increased fears America is turning into a police state following the passage of the ‘indefinite detention’ bill.
Congress To Fund Massive Expansion Of TSA Checkpoints tsa vipers
The increase in funding has nothing to do with the TSA’s role in airports – this is about creating 12 more VIPR teams to add the federal agency’s 25 units that are already scattered across the country and responsible for manning checkpoints on highways, in bus and train terminals, at sports events and even high school prom nights.
“The TSA’s 25 “viper” teams — for Visible Intermodal Prevention and Response — have run more than 9,300 unannounced checkpoints and other search operations in the last year. Department of Homeland Security officials have asked Congress for funding to add 12 more teams next year,” reports the L.A. Times.

Effective. A filial endorsement is endearing, if predictable, and Rand’s already prominent enough as a national figure that his stamp of approval qualifies as a rare “mainstream” thumbs up for his pop.
The message is smart, too: No policy specifics, just a promise that Ron will stick to his principles because that’s what he’s been doing for 50 years. True enough; whatever his other faults, the fear that President Paul would “evolve” in office is absolute zero. Quite a contrast with the likely nominee…..

Defending the Gunslinger – Gareth Brickman – Mises Daily
“Gunslinger” typically refers to the men of the Old West who gained a reputation for being skilled and dangerous with a gun. Among the ranks of these popular legends are outlaws and lawmen alike, although we know today that the line was often blurred, hence the enduring reputation of the gunslinger as an unpredictable and wily opportunist.
For the purposes of this article, however, I use “gunslinger” to refer to an armed man who offers the service of his presence and skills to protect a client’s material interests.

Many musicians and writers of poetry will admit that some of their finest work comes when they have experienced a death or a tragedy of some kind, that the writing of poetry has an almost cathartic effect.
Such is the case of one of the best known and most beloved carols associated with Christmas, “I Heard the Bells on Christmas Day,” which came from the pen of American poet Henry Wadsworth Longfellow and was written on Christmas Day, 1864.
His had been a tortured life in last few years before that day. On July 11, 1861, his wife Fanny had clipped some long curls from the head of her seven-year-old daughter, Edith, and wanting to save them in an envelope, melted a bar of sealing wax with a candle to seal the envelope.
Somehow the thin fabric of her clothing caught fire, and she quickly ran to Longfellow’s nearby study for help. He immediately tried to extinguish the flames with a small rug, and when that failed, he threw his arms around Fanny to smother the flames, causing him to sustain serious burns on his face, arms, and hands. His heroic act did not suffice, and Fanny died the next morning of her injuries. Longfellow was unable to even attend the funeral.
Photographs of Longfellow taken or made after the fire usually show him with a full beard, since he was no longer able to shave properly due to the burns and scarring.
National Review’s Racist Rants by Thomas DiLorenzo ~ “…by smearing Ron Paul as being insensitive on matters of race…”
The whole world should know by now that the neocons at National Review magazine, the War Street Journal, and elsewhere will tell any lie in pursuit of political power.
Lying the nation into war with Iraq by spreading the falsehood of “weapons of mass destruction” that were supposedly headed our way was the most atrociously evil act perpetrated by the U.S government and its propaganda organs in decades, having led to the senseless death of thousands of Americans and hundreds of thousands of Iraqis.
No one should be surprised that National Review is now engaged in a spectacular act of chutzpah, to put it mildly, by smearing Ron Paul as being insensitive on matters of race. Before anyone gives any credence to the latest smear campaign against Congressman Paul it would be useful to take a look at National Review’s own record of publications on the issue of race relations. It is not a pretty picture…..

EXCERPT
…..The Constitution of the United States made no provision for executive orders. Congress never votes to create one, yet executive orders have the force of law. The Constitution says that all laws must be passed by a majority in both houses of Congress and then be signed by the President.
Therefore, during my time as President, the government of the United States will be run exclusively by laws that were passed in accordance with the Constitution. I do not have the authority to repeal laws on my own. I do have the authority to repeal executive orders. I have just repealed 13,600 of them.
From this point on, you are not obligated to conform to rules and regulations issued under executive orders. Of course, the various executive departments of the United States government will do their best to ignore this, so you had better check with your lawyer…..

The Constitution Rendered All Other Forms of Government Obsolete| The Post & Email
BUT WHERE DO “WE THE PEOPLE” STAND NOW?
by Neil Turner
(Dec. 23, 2011) — The Constitution was a better idea, making all that went before it OBSOLETE. It made:
Tribalism & Socialism: OBSOLETE
Caesars & Potentates: OBSOLETE
Dictators & Kings: OBSOLETE
Communism & Fascism (extreme LEFT): OBSOLETE
Democracy & Anarchy (extreme RIGHT): OBSOLETE
Totalitarianism & BIG Government: OBSOLETE
OBSOLESENCE
(The process of becoming no longer in use or of being useful:
OBSOLETE – replaced by a better idea)
This ‘new idea’, a Constitutional Republic, where the People had the final say – according to an agreed-upon (and sworn-to) set of rules and standards to guide them. A new and better idea that turned the old way of doing things UPSIDE-DOWN!
Prison Planet.com » TSA Responsible For Over 9,000 Unannounced Checkpoints In Last Year
The TSA has been responsible for over 9,000 unannounced “security checkpoints” over the last year alone, as the federal agency’s VIPR program expands to become a literal occupying army in the name of safety.
Times.
The figure is completely independent from the federal agency’s role inside the nation’s airports, which costs taxpayers $5 billion a year, with the department having spent an additional $110 million in fiscal year 2011 for “surface transportation security,” while requesting a further $24 million for next year.
The extra money is being demanded despite the fact that there is “no proof that the roving viper teams have foiled any terrorist plots or thwarted any major threat to public safety,” according to the report, which also highlights how the TSA’s sniffer dogs are used to single out people for questioning if the dog smells the scent of the owner’s pets on their clothing.

It’s massive new assault on Christmas across U.S. ~ “Christmas ca”
Christmas carolers are thrown out of a U.S. Post Office.
The U.S. military apologizes for promoting a Christian-based charity and relief program providing holiday gifts to poor children.
Across the country, Christmas lights, Christmas trees and menorahs are banned in public areas.
Atheists and “free-thinkers” sue cities into submission, forcing removal of all things “Christ” on public property during the Christian holiday.
Is the nation that puts “In God We Trust” on its currency at war with Christmas?
“I think people mistake tolerance for muzzling,” Andrew Walther, vice president of communications for Knights of Columbus, a group that has been at the forefront of the campaign to “Keep Christ in Christmas” for more than five decades, told WND. “The entire point of the First Amendment, to have freedom of religion, freedom of speech, freedom of assembly, is that we can practice our faith and we can speak publicly about things that matter to us.”
