SOMERS POINT — Master Commandant Richard Somers will have to wait a little longer to come home, if it happens at all.

Efforts to repatriate the remains of the city’s namesake and U.S. Naval hero — killed with his crew aboard the USS Intrepid in 1804 in Tripoli Harbor during the First Barbary War — date to the 1840s.

Spurred by this year’s political upheaval in Libya, the movement seemed to finally have the congressional backing it needed to order the Department of Defense to take action regarding the return of the bodies of Somers and his men to the U.S.

However, the language in an amendment to the 2012 Defense Authorization bill that ordered the return of the bodies was changed at the last minute in favor of a diluted order for the issue to be further evaluated.

And this was done, supporters of the measure say, at the request of Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., a former Navy prisoner of war.

The National Defense Authorization Act will be made law with the stroke of President Obama’s pen (perhaps autopen from Hawaii?). With the enactment of the NDAA, Americans suspected by the President of having committed a “belligerent act” may be apprehended by the military and detained without recitation of charges and without access to an attorney until such time as the President decides that the “War on Terror” is over.

A pro-Ron Paul group called Revolution PAC will combat the charges of racism against the Texas Republican in an internet advertisement next week.

Gary Franchi, the head of the PAC, told The Daily that the web ad will “put an end to these racist claims.”

“I don’t think it is fazing anybody,” Franchi said. “This is a cyclical history that is visible, based on past elections, and it (will be seen) as just a media ploy to try to get something to stick on the guy.”

Paul has said that he only endorsed the investment portions of controversial newsletters circulated in the 1980s and 1990s which were published under his name and occasionally contained conspiratorial, racist and homophobic content. Paul says he didn’t write the newsletters, didn’t read them at the time, and disavows them now. Still, the Paul campaign seems to have been taken by surprise that the issue has resurfaced in this election cycle, as the newsletters were also an issue for the candidate during his 2008 campaign.

Do We Need Big Government?

AAs Congress nears approval on a series of 2011 appropriations bills (only three months late, a near-record for recent history), Rep. Sander Levin (D., Mich.) told Fox News that he was encouraged by progress on the bills because “we’re dealing with the lives of people. Those appropriation bills relate to the daily lives of people in middle class of America, and that’s really what this is all about.”

Yet, if that is true, and so many Americans have become dependent on the decisions of federal appropriators in Washington, there seems to be something distinctly wrong.

During the 2011 debate over raising the debt ceiling, President Obama noted that the U.S. federal government sends out 70 million checks every month. Unfortunately, that is probably an underestimate. According to the Washington Post, the president’s estimate included Social Security, veterans’ benefits, and spending on non-defense contractors and vendors. But he did not include reimbursements to Medicare providers and vendors, or electronic transfers to the 21 million households receiving food stamps. (Nor did he include most spending by the Defense Department, which has a payroll of 6.4 million active and retired employees and pays nearly 1 million invoices and 660,000 travel-expense claims per month.) The actual number of monthly federal checks might be closer to 200 million.

If America Is the Battleground, Nobody Has Any Rights

CATO / The Washington Examiner ^ | 2011-12-19 | Gene Healy

Last Thursday — which happened to be the 220th anniversary of the ratification of the Bill of Rights — the Senate passed a defense bill that demonstrates just how cavalier Congress can be with our fundamental liberties.

Given the opportunity to clarify existing law and confirm that American citizens are not subject to indefinite military detention at the order of the president — Congress punted.

After a debate in which key members seriously contemplated empowering the president to “Gitmo-ize” Americans suspected of terrorist activity, the National Defense Authorization Act of 2012 leaves the question open. Maybe he can, maybe he can’t, so let’s let the courts sort it out.

The legislation is ready for President Obama’s signature, the president having caved on his earlier veto threat. Happy Bill of Rights Day!

It could have been even worse. An earlier version of the bill would, according to one of its cosponsors, Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., have allowed the president to use the U.S. military to seize American citizens on the home front and ship them to Guantanamo.

Sen. Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., cheered the provision, because it would “basically say in law for the first time that the homeland is part of the battlefield.” He added that “I believe our military should be deeply involved in fighting these guys at home.”

(DiLorenzo writes. Ron Paul is devoted to the Constitution and that’s why Steyn and the neocons detest him) Mark Steyn: Ron Paul’s Support of Constitution is “Stunted Parochialism”

Mark Steyn, the Canadian columnist who writes about American politics and is a close friend of the convicted criminal Conrad Black, has labeled Ron Paul’s political views “sheer stupid half-witted parochialism” in The Daily Caller.

“So we’re getting here into what is the problem with Ron Paul, which is the sheer stupid half-witted parochialism of his view of what’s going on out on the planet,” Steyn said on Hugh Hewitt’s radio show on Thursday. “And that’s why this is — this is a kind of utopian isolationism that fantasists on the right have embraced and at its darkest side, it meets the left coming around the other way in 9/11 truther conspiracy theories.”

Ron Paul has never declared 9/11 to be an inside job. Steyn’s attempt to portray him as a “truther” is more evidence that the neocon faction of the ruling elite is running scared as they confront the prospect of Paul winning the Iowa caucus.

Columnist-to-the-World Mark Steyn and I chat on air almost every week. The transcript of those interviews are always posted, both at HughHewitt.com and SteynOnline.com. Here’s a lengthy excerpt from yesterday’s conversation about Ron Paul, which begins as I play a tape of a question asked of the would-be Iowa upset winner about 9/11:

Q: Okay, and one more question. Why don’t you come out and tell the truth about 9/11?

RP: Well, I can’t handle the controversy. I have the IMF, the Federal Reserve to deal with, the IRS to deal with, because no, I just have more, too many things on my plate, because I just have too much to do.

HH: “Why won’t you come out on 9/11? Ron Paul?” He has too much controversy, Mark Steyn, too many things on his plate. What do you think about that?

MS: Yeah, I mean, that is a very cowardly answer. One of the rare occasions on which I’ve applauded Bill Clinton was 2008, four years ago. He was in Keene, New Hampshire, and some Ron Paul supporter asked him about the truth about 9/11 being an inside job. And Clinton slapped that guy down, as he well should have. This, by the way, is not an irrelevant thing, because it gets to the heart, to the most disfiguring aspect of Ron Paul’s campaign, leaving aside his unpleasantness to Michele Bachmann the other night, and all the rest of it, which is this stunted parochialism. Let’s say, for a moment, that 9/11 was an inside job. Does that also mean, then, that the Bali nightclub bombing was an inside job, that the Madrid train bombings was an inside job, that the Beslan school shootings were an inside job, that the London Tube bombings were an inside job? Because in that case, that’s one hell of a sum to be hiding somewhere within the darkest recesses of Dick Cheney’s non-specific line items. So we’re getting here into what is the problem with Ron Paul, which is the sheer stupid, half-witted parochialism of his view of what’s going on out in the planet. And that’s why this is so pathetic. This is a kind of utopian isolationism that fantasists on the right have embraced. And at its darkest side, it meets the left coming round the other way in 9/11 truther conspiracy theories.

HH: Now can someone, do you think it’s right for someone to go to the Iowa Caucus and say I agree with Ron Paul on the Fed, so I’m going to put aside this nuttery, and I’m going to ignore his newsletters, and I’m going to ignore his other baffling and incoherent positions on issuing letters of mark and reprisals and all the rest of it because I want to make a statement? Is that a right way to conduct yourself, Mark Steyn?

Establishment petrified of Texan Congressman building momentum for future primaries

Ron Paul, member of the United States House of...

According to Politico’s chief columnist Roger Simon, even if Ron Paul wins the crucial Iowa primary, the result will simply be ignored and the establishment media will instead concentrate on the order in which Newt Gingrich and Mitt Romney finish.

Simon tries to downplay the significance of Iowa by pointing out that “exotic” candidates have won in the past, yet fails to mention how two of the last three successful Republican nominees started the campaign trial with a win in Iowa.

He then denigrates the importance of August’s Ames straw poll, which is normally seen as a key barometer, simply because Paul almost won it.

The media’s not going to be blown away” by a Paul win, states Simon. In other words, if Paul wins, the media will simply continue to ignore his existence in a desperate effort to prevent him from building the kind of momentum that would increase his chances of performing well in New Hampshire, Florida and subsequent primaries.

“If Ron Paul wins Iowa, we just take it out,” remarks Simon.

Marine’s Message for Guy Who Shot Him: “I Would’ve Whipped His Butt”

Marine Lt. Col. Karl Trenker has a message for the criminal who shot him.

“If he didn’t have a pistol I would’ve whipped his butt,” the Miramar resident said.

Trenker’s fiancé advertised a gold necklace on Craigslist, hoping to drum up a little more cash for some Christmas presents.

When Trenker went to the arranged meeting place outside an apartment complex in Deerfield Beach, the would-be buyers snatched the chain and took off running. Trenker gave chase.

“I did not perceive any danger, and being a Marine and all I’m not one to back down from a fight, so I was going to get my necklace back,” said the father of five.

Deputies say Jeff Steele and James Flounory, both 20, are the suspects.

While Trenker was chasing them Wednesday, Steele allegedly turned and fired several shots. At least three hit the Marine. He used his fingers to plug his wounds, then ran back to his pickup truck to assure his four kids he would be OK.

“I can’t believe it, I go to Iraq and Afghanistan multiple times and I haven’t been shot or blown up,” Trenker said Friday. “I’m here at home in Florida, and here I am riding away in an ambulance with a bunch of gunshot wounds.”

Inviting Espionage: The administration is considering reviving a ’90s-era nuclear scientist exchange program with China. Does no one in the White House remember how much damage the previous arrangement caused?

Of the many regrettable initiatives dreamed up by the Clinton administration, few were as perverse as the nuclear scientist exchange program. The arrangement turned out to be a gift to the Chinese, who were able to steal U.S. nuclear secrets virtually in plain sight.

Either unable or unwilling to learn from the past, the Obama administration wants to bring the program back. The Washington Times reports that “Deputy Energy Secretary Daniel B. Poneman is working on a major Obama administration initiative that would renew scientist exchanges between U.S. nuclear weapons laboratories and Chinese nuclear facilities.”

Ayn Rand

If there is any intellectual of the last 100 years who scares the Left, it is Ayn Rand. One needs only to search her name on the internet and they will find that she is perhaps more abused and insulted than Milton Friedman and Reagan. Often the charges that most attack her with can be boiled down to “She believes that people should be self-centered bastards and not give a damn about anyone else.”

While anyone who has taken the time to read her fiction and nonfiction works knows that the above claim isn’t accurate, the fact that Rand is the target of so many wannabe-commentators reveals the amount of anger that the woman brings out in the Left. The question honestly begs to be asked – why? Why does this Russian immigrant, who died in 1982, bring Liberals to the use of such vitriol and character assassination?

The answer is actually quite simple – she makes sense. She is to Socialism what David was to Goliath and the Left simply doesn’t know how to respond to her except to demagogue and paint her as a puppet to the elitists. Unlike some of the more pacifistic fighters for the Right and Libertarianism Rand doesn’t hold back, if anything she removes the veil that the Progressive and Socialist movement has used for decades – the veil of “the Greater Good”. It had been this façade that left far too many Conservatives stammering during the New Deal, with the passing of Social Security, and the growth of Welfare. However she tore it off with her philosophy of the Individual and showed the true face of the Left with her novels.

Last night in his post debate interview with Sean Hannity, Ron Paul was asked once again about the racists newsletters that were published in his name in the early 1990′s. I have heard this subject discussed multiple times and have come to a personal conclusion about his answer to questions and his responsibility for those words. However, this time in his answer, Paul cited a source with information about them that I wasn’t familiar with, a piece done in a magazine called Texas Monthly a decade ago.

Here is the portion of the transcript with the relevant question and answer exchange between Hannity and Paul:

Sean Hannity: … And I really admire your fierce supporters, but when I brought up the issue of your newsletters from the early 1990s, and some really outrageous things that have been written in there. And you had gone on record saying you had no idea what was in them. That kind of surprised me. Why do you not take responsibility for the things that were in your individual newsletters?

Another challenge has been filed in Georgia. Mark Hatfield is an attorney and also a member of the Georgia State Legislature. He is representing the electors:

Apparently there is one other individual in Georgia who is being represented by Liberty Law Foundation. Here is the motion to separate:

It appears attorney, Van Irion, does not want his client joined with the other one; Dr. Orly Taitz is the attorney; see here:

Quite frankly, and I know Dr. Taitz’s supporters will beat me up on this, I fully support Irion’s move. The issue is ballot eligibility, not Obama using a fake SSN, his passports or anything else.

Their law firm has also filed in New Hampshire. Here is the document:

We’ve all learned a great deal over the past three years from the cases kicked to the curb. Secretaries of State throughout the country maintain their job is only ministerial. It is the RNC and DNC and “third” parties who are required to vet any candidate for eligibility regardless of office sought.

I will be sending out the Items Missed a little bit later. I know this is a lot of reading, but with the Christmas holiday, folks might have extra time to get up to speed.

I would also recommend visiting Liberty Law Foundation’s site – they are quite busy:

EXCERPT

The politically-incestuous, incompetent, faux-leaders in Congress will continue to posture and position themselves, cut secret deals, nod and wink at each other.

When the American people demand accountability and challenge the power of the political establishment through grass roots citizen groups like the Tea Party, the Republican and Democratic Parties join the mainstream media to ridicule or condemn them as “Hobbits”, “racists” and “extremists.”

To the political royalty, Americans are no longer citizens of a republic, but serfs. They not only ignore our petitions for the redress of grievances and treat our views with disdain, but they have declared war on us.

The loyalty of the American people is to our country and our Constitution, not to criminal officeholders, partisan judges and submissive bureaucrats.

They have all forfeited their privilege to represent us or participate in our government.

(Dec. 23, 2011) — Parliament of Whores was an international best-selling political humor book, written by P. J. O’Rourke and published in 1991. It was a brilliant and scathing critique of the American system of governance from a conservative perspective.

To me it does not seem so funny anymore.

Who would have imagined in 1991 that O’Rourke’s title would have provided an appropriate epitaph for the beginning of the downfall of the United States?

The American republic has entered the first stage of decline. It has become a totalitarian democracy, a political system described by Israeli historian J. L. Effective. A filial endorsement is endearing, if predictable, and Rand’s already prominent enough as a national figure that his stamp of approval qualifies as a rare “mainstream” thumbs up for his pop.

The message is smart, too: No policy specifics, just a promise that Ron will stick to his principles because that’s what he’s been doing for 50 years. True enough; whatever his other faults, the fear that President Paul would “evolve” in office is absolute zero. Quite a contrast with the likely nominee…..

Defending the Gunslinger – Gareth Brickman – Mises Daily

December 23, 2011 Leave a comment

“Gunslinger” typically refers to the men of the Old West who gained a reputation for being skilled and dangerous with a gun. Among the ranks of these popular legends are outlaws and lawmen alike, although we know today that the line was often blurred, hence the enduring reputation of the gunslinger as an unpredictable and wily opportunist.

For the purposes of this article, however, I use “gunslinger” to refer to an armed man who offers the service of his presence and skills to protect a client’s material interests.

Many musicians and writers of poetry will admit that some of their finest work comes when they have experienced a death or a tragedy of some kind, that the writing of poetry has an almost cathartic effect.

Such is the case of one of the best known and most beloved carols associated with Christmas, “I Heard the Bells on Christmas Day,” which came from the pen of American poet Henry Wadsworth Longfellow and was written on Christmas Day, 1864.

His had been a tortured life in last few years before that day. On July 11, 1861, his wife Fanny had clipped some long curls from the head of her seven-year-old daughter, Edith, and wanting to save them in an envelope, melted a bar of sealing wax with a candle to seal the envelope.

Somehow the thin fabric of her clothing caught fire, and she quickly ran to Longfellow’s nearby study for help. He immediately tried to extinguish the flames with a small rug, and when that failed, he threw his arms around Fanny to smother the flames, causing him to sustain serious burns on his face, arms, and hands. His heroic act did not suffice, and Fanny died the next morning of her injuries. Longfellow was unable to even attend the funeral.

Photographs of Longfellow taken or made after the fire usually show him with a full beard, since he was no longer able to shave properly due to the burns and scarring.

Lying the nation into war with Iraq by spreading the falsehood of “weapons of mass destruction” that were supposedly headed our way was the most atrociously evil act perpetrated by the U.S government and its propaganda organs in decades, having led to the senseless death of thousands of Americans and hundreds of thousands of Iraqis.

No one should be surprised that National Review is now engaged in a spectacular act of chutzpah, to put it mildly, by smearing Ron Paul as being insensitive on matters of race. Before anyone gives any credence to the latest smear campaign against Congressman Paul it would be useful to take a look at National Review’s own record of publications on the issue of race relations. Why Ron Paul Can Win by James Jaeger ~ “But here’s what really terrifies them: Ron Paul is in a position to hand the election of 2012 over to Barack Obama and the Democrats because…”

If you have been watching the news, you know that Ron Paul is now beating both Gingrich and Romney in the polls and could walk away with a win in Iowa.

Ron Paul, member of the United States House of...

Image via Wikipedia

Some say he could also walk away with a win in New Hampshire, and possibly even win the Republican (GOP) nomination.

For the Republican National Committee (RNC), this must be uncomfortable – the idea that they would be forced to nominate a principled, Constitutionalist just because WE THE PEOPLE demanded it.

But here’s what really terrifies them: Ron Paul is in a position to hand the election of 2012 over to Barack Obama and the Democrats because he would be a “spoiler.” But even more terrifying is the fact that Dr. Paul is in a position to be much more than a “spoiler” – he’s in a position to be a “winner.”

Etymology of the term SPOILER:

The term “spoiler” is a derogatory term that was dreamt up by statists in the Democratic and Republican parties in order to sucker the public into continuously voting for no one outside the Establishment. In other words, if you vote your conscience, YOU are a “spoiler.” If you run on principles of your conscience and take votes away from an Establishment candidate, YOU are also a “spoiler.”

EXCERPT

…..The Constitution of the United States made no provision for executive orders. Congress never votes to create one, yet executive orders have the force of law. The Constitution says that all laws must be passed by a majority in both houses of Congress and then be signed by the President.

Therefore, during my time as President, the government of the United States will be run exclusively by laws that were passed in accordance with the Constitution. I do not have the authority to repeal laws on my own. I do have the authority to repeal executive orders. I have just repealed 13,600 of them.

From this point on, you are not obligated to conform to rules and regulations issued under executive orders. Of course, the various executive departments of the United States government will do their best to ignore this, so you had better check with your lawyer…..

Prison Planet.com » TSA Responsible For Over 9,000 Unannounced Checkpoints In Last Year

December 23, 2011 3 comments

The TSA has been responsible for over 9,000 unannounced “security checkpoints” over the last year alone, as the federal agency’s VIPR program expands to become a literal occupying army in the name of safety.

“The TSA’s 25 “viper” teams — for Visible Intermodal Prevention and Response — have run more than 9,300 unannounced checkpoints and other search operations in the last year. Department of Homeland Security officials have asked Congress for funding to add 12 more teams next year,” reports the L.A. Times.

The figure is completely independent from the federal agency’s role inside the nation’s airports, which costs taxpayers $5 billion a year, with the department having spent an additional $110 million in fiscal year 2011 for “surface transportation security,” while requesting a further $24 million for next year.

The extra money is being demanded despite the fact that there is “no proof that the roving viper teams have foiled any terrorist plots or thwarted any major threat to public safety,” according to the report, which also highlights how the TSA’s sniffer dogs are used to single out people for questioning if the dog smells the scent of the owner’s pets on their clothing.

It’s massive new assault on Christmas across U.S. ~ “Christmas ca”

December 23, 2011 Leave a comment

Christmas carolers are thrown out of a U.S. Post Office.

The U.S. military apologizes for promoting a Christian-based charity and relief program providing holiday gifts to poor children.

Across the country, Christmas lights, Christmas trees and menorahs are banned in public areas.

Atheists and “free-thinkers” sue cities into submission, forcing removal of all things “Christ” on public property during the Christian holiday.

Is the nation that puts “In God We Trust” on its currency at war with Christmas?

“I think people mistake tolerance for muzzling,” Andrew Walther, vice president of communications for Knights of Columbus, a group that has been at the forefront of the campaign to “Keep Christ in Christmas” for more than five decades, told WND. “The entire point of the First Amendment, to have freedom of religion, freedom of speech, freedom of assembly, is that we can practice our faith and we can speak publicly about things that matter to us.”

America on the Brink of Anarchy ~ JB Williams…| The Post & Email

…..How much longer will the people sit quietly, before taking justice into their own hands, in what has clearly become a lawless society?

Clearly, government officials from the White House all the way down to your local town and all points in-between, have a total disregard for the rule of law and the Constitution of these once United States. Every day, we see government officials act beyond their authority, in direct violation of the law and their oaths of office – still, the American people sit silent, waiting… but for what?

The people allowed their Constitutional Representative Republic to be quietly replaced with a Marxist form of democracy (aka Democratic Socialism) and we are now witnessing simple democracy at its worst. Washington D.C. is the belly of the beast, in terms of political and judicial corruption and lawlessness. But that corruption and lawlessness has been systematically spread across the country, throughout the federal courts, all the way down to your local traffic court.

Judges are no longer restrained by the law. They operate as political tools for change – henchmen for a corrupt administration, federal, state and local. Our nation has been systematically pushed to the brink of anarchy, a lawless society wherein the people will have to exact justice themselves, or live under the boot of government tyranny.

The people have already been silent too long. What are they waiting for?…..

Nearly half say there is no candidate who would make a good president

Americans are divided when asked if there is any candidate running who they think would make a good president, with 48% saying yes and 46% saying no. This is a slightly more positive outlook than that of 1992, when an incumbent president was also seeking re-election, but more pessimistic than in the election years of 2008 and 2000.

Next we have some questions about the 2012 presidential campaign. Please try to answer each question based on what you may have heard or read so far about the campaign and the candidates from the Democratic and Republican parties. [RANDOM ORDER]\n\nB. On Wednesday morning’s Red Eye, host Greg Gutfeld asked The Daily Caller‘s Tucker Carlson about Ron Paul’s surge in Iowa. “What happens if Paul wins Iowa? I wrote panic!”

“Maybe Republicans (should) ask themselves why does this 70-ish weird guy have all of this support?” Carlson questioned. “What is he saying that’s resonating? And how do we address those concerns? Maybe people do care about the fed – soft money maybe they are not happy with Afghanistan. I mean, think it through a little bit!”

Later, during the show’s regular Halftime Report segment, Andy Levy theorized that people liked Paul because they enjoyed “the racist newsletters.”

“They are huge,” Carlson added. “Kids love the racist newsletters.”

“It is an under served market!” Levy exclaimed.

“Look at the guy!” Carlson graciously observed. “There has never been a more poorly marketed candidate.”

Has Ron Paul committed the unpardonable sin?

It is no secret that in politics the infamous “race card” trumps all. We have seen it used time after time.

Most recently it has been used by Eric Holder to answer the question (at least in his own mind) as to why there is such a resounding cry for his resignation or impeachment.

Before him was Jeremiah Wright who so eloquently told his church that Obama would make a better president because Hillary Clinton didn’t know what it was like to be a black man in a society run by rich white people.

It is fair to say that the “race card” will continue to be the high card in political poker for years to come.

Ron Paul is now going to get to experience this first hand with his newfound seat at the head of the Iowa Caucus polls. In recent days many media outlets have picked up on a little known skeleton in the closet of Mr. Paul.

Ron Paul published a series of newsletters in the 1980’s and 1990’s that apparently were full of very racist and inflammatory rhetoric. A recent report from the Business Insider has provided a list of newsletters and the remarks made within them. The newsletters in question were:

• Ron Paul’s Political Report • Ron Paul’s Freedom Report • Ron Paul Survival Report • The Ron Paul Investment Letter

Besides Paul’s top position, Perry is now third or fourth in most of the polling. Pundits say Iowa is irrelevant if Paul wins, as he is a one-trick pony. Could a win in Iowa ignite the Paul ground teams in other states? Paul is a force to be reckoned with because of his staunch supporters. Maybe candidates should be reaching towards Paul instead of running away from him.

Perry, on the other hand, could be the dark horse in this race. If not nationally, at least he appears to be set to come from behind in Iowa. Why are people giving Perry a second look? His supporters do not mind that he is not the best debater.

CNN Poll: Ron Paul Most Popular Republican Amongst Non Whites 110700 Ron Paul jt 10

While the establishment media continues to hype a 15-year-old story concerning decades old newsletters as part of a dirty tricks campaign to smear Ron Paul as a racist, the latest CNN poll shows that Paul has the most support from non-whites out of all the Republican candidates.

The latest CNN/ORC poll released Tuesday finds that Congressman Paul scores highest amongst minorities when matched up against Barack Obama in a hypothetical election head to head.

Paul scores 25% of the vote amongst non-whites, whereas Romney polls at 20% and Gingrich gets 15%.

Ron Paul is clearly the most popular GOP contender amongst non-whites out of the entire field, suggesting that the “racist” smear, which was heavily pushed back in 2008, has had very little impact whatsoever on the views of those who presumably would be the most likely to be offended by it.

Indeed, it’s a remarkable coincidence that those who seem to be most offended by the non-controversy are well to do, white, establishment Republican cheerleaders, Paul’s foremost political adversaries.

A nation of sheep, ripe for takeover, which started January 20, 2009, when someone, who isn’t Black (White/Arab, little Black), father was a British subject (makes Obama NOT natural born), a Muslim (our sworn enemy, the enemy of Western Civilization), and he was welcomed by ignorant-uneducated-gullible-fools, who cheered and cried for a slick politician, whose job was to import millions of Muslims into the US and destroy the US economy.

Okay, what are we going to do about it? If there actually is an honest election, Obots and all citizens better elect someone who’ll get the job done to save our country or else there won’t be a country left to save…..

Prison Planet.com » New Rules Make It Possible For Republican Establishment To Steal Nomination From A Candidate They Don’t Like

December 22, 2011 1 comment

New Republican primary rules are going to make it basically impossible for any candidate to wrap up the Republican nomination very early in 2012.

Republican Party (United States)

Image via Wikipedia

In fact, the new Republican primary rules make a “brokered convention” much more likely and they also make it much more likely that the Republican establishment will attempt to steal the nomination away from a candidate that they do not like. How exactly they would do this will be discussed later in the article. The key is that most Republican primaries and caucuses will now allocate delegates using a proportional system rather than a “winner take all” system. Back in 2008, John McCain did very well in early “winner take all” primaries and wrapped up the Republican nomination very, very quickly. Nothing like that will happen in 2012. In fact, if the field remains crowded it is going to be very difficult for any candidate to accumulate more than 50 percent of the delegates by the time the Republican national convention rolls around. As will be discussed later on in this article, that would move the power into the hands of the Republican establishment.

As Ron Paul strengthens his position in the lead up to the January 3 Iowa caucus, the media pressure continues to build. He is often depicted as an un-electable candidate because if his non-mainstream views on issues such as monetary policy, foreign wars, the second amendment, the right to privacy and personal security, and the federal government’s role in the daily lives of Americans.

Ron Paul, member of the United States House of...

Recent polls suggest Paul is either a close second in the Iowa race, or has taken the lead by a small margin.

Media arms of both, the democrat and republican parties, for their part, have been complicit thus far in orchestrating the build-up and then collapse of campaigns that have included Presidential hopefuls like Herman Cain, Rick Perry, and most recently, Newt Gingrich. Former Massachusetts governor, private sector millionaire, and architect of the Massachusetts Health Care Insurance Reform Law (a.k.a.RomneyCare) which forcibly mandates insurance coverage for every resident of the state, seems to have, once again, become the media front runner in the Republican primary. Curiously, it has been rumored that the Obama administration’s entire election strategy has been developed for and focused on the Romney campaign, which would put the President at a significant disadvantage if a dark horse candidate emerged and won the GOP nomination.

With Ron Paul’s numbers rapidly gaining, reaching as high as 28% Wednesday night, there can be no doubt that the once un-electable Ron Paul is now a serious candidate for the highest office in the land and a formidable grass roots driven opponent for a President who has thus far failed to manifest the hope and change promised in 2008.

“Mainstream Republicans” decide who is leading, not actual polls of likely voters

If you thought the establishment’s tactic of ignoring who wins the Iowa primary was bizarre enough, try this one on for size. A USA Today story about how polls show Ron Paul is leading in Iowa is entitled ‘Ron Paul still not in lead’.

Twilight Zone: USA Today Story About Ron Paul Leading In Iowa Headlined Ron Paul Still Not in Lead

The mental gymnastics required to unravel this convoluted premise are somewhat intense, so concentrate…

The full title of the article, written by Jackie Kucinich, is ‘Despite money and support, Ron Paul still not in lead‘.

The gist of the story is that Ron Paul is in fact in the lead according to the polls, but because “mainstream Republicans” insist that he shouldn’t be leading, that means the voters are meaningless and that Ron Paul is in fact not in the lead.

So now we’re being told that surveys of likely voters, the three most recent of which show Paul is leading Romney and Gingrich, have no legitimacy because the establishment doesn’t like Ron Paul.

“Paul received 21.7% of potential caucusgoers, according to an average of three recent polls compiled by the website Real Clear Politics. Former Massachusetts governor Mitt Romney trails him slightly with 20.3% and former speaker Newt Gingrich comes in third with 15.7%,” reports Kucinich, conceding that Ron Paul is leading, but on the other hand noting that “He’s the second choice of only 9% of likely caucusgoers”.

So it matters little that Ron Paul is actually leading in Iowa, the fact that he isn’t leading the race for second place is more important. Get it? No, neither do I.

A d v e r t i s e m e n t

The corporate press has now moved on from trying to mislead its readers through sheer ignorance to engaging in outright brazen delusions, pretending that Ron Paul is not leading in Iowa while simultaneously having to admit the fact that he is the current frontrunner.

COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) — White Castle, a 90-year-old hamburger chain known for its square “slider” burgers, is sipping on the idea of offering alcoholic beverages as it tests beer and wine sales at a restaurant in Indiana.

The food famously craved by stoners in the 2004 movie “Harold & Kumar Go to White Castle” can be had with a glass of wine or a domestic or seasonal beer at a Lafayette, Ind., restaurant that fuses a conventional White Castle with a new concept for the company called Blaze Modern BBQ. Wine costs $4.50 and beers start at $3.

It is the clearest sign yet of desperation setting in among the smarter subset of politically-conscious Americans that a ‘Draft Hillary’ campaign has been launched in hopes of persuading the female half of Bill-and-Hill to make one last shot at the White House next year.

Washington’s establishment is steaming confidently towards the iceberg with a ship of fools for the Republican nomination merrily aboard, and as of yesterday, even has-been Sarah Palin is again coyly teasing Fox News that she may yet declare a candidacy.

, U.S. Senator from Pennsylvania.

Rick Santorum, more than most presidential candidates, enjoys stumping in small Iowa towns. He’ll gladly spend hours at VFW halls and in church basements, even if only a handful of people are present. These trail gatherings remind him of his childhood in western Pennsylvania, where he grew up in a blue-collar neighborhood. His parents, traditional Roman Catholics, socialized in similar settings and, as employees of the Veterans Administration, encouraged their seven children to celebrate their faith and country. During the Vietnam era, Santorum’s father, an Italian immigrant, would often bring his son to work, introducing him to wounded soldiers.

On the campaign trail over the past month, Santorum has frequently spoken about his childhood. Yes, he served in the United States Senate from 1995 until he lost his 2006 reelection bid. But these days, in the eleventh hour of the primary, it’s his roots and principles, his scrappy persona, that are stirring renewed interest in his candidacy. In the latest Public Policy Polling survey, his Iowa support has risen, hitting 10 percent, a mere four points behind Newt Gingrich with less than two weeks until the caucuses. Those numbers are close to those of other second-tier contenders, but Santorum has something they do not: upward momentum.

SOPA, or the Stop Online Piracy Act, is another one of those bills that sounds like it’s going to do something mildly positive but, in reality, has serious potential to negatively change the internet as we know it. It puts power in the hands of the entertainment industry to censor sites that allegedly “engage in, enable or facilitate” copyright infringement. This language vague enough to encompass sites you use every day, like Twitter and Facebook, making SOPA a serious problem. Here’s how it works and what you can do about it.

SOPA’s coming to a vote very soon. In fact, it was supposed to come to a vote today but was delayed, likely because of all the pushback. Reddit users have already started compiling a list of the IP addresses of popular sites in case SOPA passes and access will be restricted within the United States. A decision is going to be made soon, so if you still don’t know what SOPA is or haven’t done anything to stop it, read on to learn how you can help beat the bill.

At a speech in Sacramento, California, on December 10, Richard Mack, former sheriff of Graham County, Arizona, and founder of the Constitutional Sheriffs and Peace Officers Association (CSPOA), announced that within a matter of days he will be filing a lawsuit in federal court against the Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC) for slander, libel and defamation.

Sheriff Mack, who successfully challenged the 1993 federal Brady handgun control act in a landmark case that went all the way through the United States Supreme Court, has been an outspoken champion of constitutionally limited government and a critic of federal usurpation and abuse of police powers. The forty-year-old Southern Poverty Law Center is notorious for lionizing left-wing extremists (such as unrepentant Weather Underground terrorist Bill Ayers) and equally notorious for smearing innocent individuals and organizations with the “racist,” “extremist,” “anti-semitic,” “anti-government,” and “hate group” labels. It is not surprising then that it has targeted Richard Mack for vicious treatment in a number of its publications and web sites over the years. But even more troubling than what it has published about him, says Sheriff Mack, are the lies that it has spread to law enforcement agencies about him in the seminars and training programs the SPLC conducts for federal, state, and local agencies.

Sheriff Mack, who was a speaker, along with this writer at the 53rd Anniversary Banquet of The John Birch Society in Sacramento, also announced to the assembled guests that he would also soon be filing papers to run in the Republican primary for the 21st Congressional District of Texas against incumbent Rep. Lamar Smith, whom Mack describes a “RINO” (Republican In Name Only). The 21st District includes much of San Antonio and Austin, as well as Fredericksburg, where Mack now resides.

As is our custom, I am allowing a rebuttal to the article I wrote this morning about Congressman Ron Paul, which I stand behind 100%.

Once Ron Paul started doing well in the polls the attacks on his character were inevitable. Bill Knowles’ recent scathing post on Ron Paul at WeArePolitics.com is one such example. Bill’s article typifies the ironies and dualities of the current Republican Party, a party of which I have been a member for twenty years.

Last Thursday, I was scolded by a former Georgia state senator over Ron Paul’s debate performance that night. The senator, like Bill, derided Paul for his answers on foreign policy, calling him wacky or crazy or loony, or some other mean epithet that I’ve probably heard a hundred times, without any supporting evidence of why he thought Paul was wrong.

This country’s Founding Fathers were a bunch of obnoxious jerks — and I mean that in the most reverent way. These were men who were fiercely opposed to blind obedience to authority, and who laid their lives on the line to flip it the bird. Oh, how disappointingly — and dangerously — far we’ve fallen. Our Constitutional rights are increasingly being eroded — at TSA checkpoints, at police stops where citizens are arrested for videotaping, and elsewhere — and so many Americans are just sitting there blinking like livestock.

At the airport this past March, I wasn’t one of those people, and that sometimes comes with a price. In my case, $500,000. That’s what a TSA agent’s lawyer is demanding from me for “defaming” her client by saying she sexually violated me during the pat-down, and then for “libeling” her when I blogged about it. Marc J. Randazza, the First Amendment lawyer defending me, called her case “meritless,” but this woman’s notion that I should fund her existence for the rest of her life because I stood up for my Constitutional rights is beyond disgusting.

On March 31, 2011, I was flying out of LAX to attend a psychology conference in New York. When I reached the TSA checkpoint in the United terminal, I found that I had no choice but to get the pat-down. Tears welled up in my eyes — for how we’ve allowed the Constitution to be ripped up at the airport door and because I was powerless to stop a total stranger from running her hands over the most private parts of my body as a condition of normal, ordinary business travel.

Ron Paul is now leading in Iowa polls of GOP voters. It’s quite possible – if not likely – that he’ll win the Hawkeye State caucuses on Jan 3. He’s well positioned in New Hampshire, too. Depending on how he does there, Representative Paul could scramble the entire Republican presidential race.

Naturally, in light of Paul’s surge in fortunes, those in the party who disapprove of the Texas libertarian are now moving to attack him.

First up this week was the Weekly Standard, a newsmagazine notable for its (fruitless) efforts to get New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie and/or Rep. Paul Ryan of Wisconsin into the GOP race. It ran a piece by journalist James Kirchik about the racist language contained in newsletters issued under Paul’s name in the 1980s and 1990s.

For decades, Mr. Kirchik writes, Paul promoted “hateful and conspiratorial nonsense,” including outlandish tales of racial violence, and hate speech about Martin Luther King, Jr.

Deep in the recesses of the National Archives in Washington,D.C., hidden for nearly four decades lie thousands of pages of yellowing and dusty documents stamped “Top Secret“.

These documents, now declassified, are the plans for Operation Downfall, the invasion of Japan during World War II. Only a few Americans in 1945 were aware of the elaborate plans that had been prepared for the Allied Invasion of the Japanese home islands.

Even fewer today are aware of the defenses the Japanese had prepared to counter the invasion had it been launched. Operation Downfall was finalized during the spring and summer of 1945. It called for two massive military undertakings to be carried out in succession and aimed at the heart of the Japanese Empire.

A majority of people surveyed believe the Obama White House is lying when it says the government has no evidence that extraterrestrial beings exist.

According to those surveyed, 99% believe that UFO’s of extraterrestrial origin have visited earth now or sometime in the past!

And about 98% believe that the US government “knows more than it is saying” about UFO’s and extraterrestrials, thus disputing the White House recent announcement last month on its website stating that that government/scientists/CIA/ military do not have information that supports that extraterrestrials do exist.

“When asked, most people feel that the government has more knowledge and information than they are letting on… that supports that extraterrestrials do exist,” said Dr. Simeon Hein, the director of The Mount Baldy Institute for Resonant Viewing in Boulder, Colorado ( www.mountbaldy.com ) which conducted the online survey at UFOsurvey.com that polled nearly 300 people.

In June of 1976, I was Ron Paul’s speechwriter. Shortly after I joined his staff as his newsletter writer and economic analyst, I recommended that he do what I had been doing for a year: buy a Code-A-Phone telephone answering machine and make a weekly 3-minute recording for people in his districts to call. He could send the tape to his office in the district, where the machine would be set up at a local phone number. Residents could call it for free. He thought this was a good idea. So began his weekly speeches.
