…..A Matter Of Definition
In discussing any subject, I always like to begin with definitions of a few key words, especially words I hear people using in vague and nebulous ways. Sloppy definitions feed sloppy thinking, and they often disguise the fact that the speaker doesn’t know what he’s talking about. This is especially perverse in that it’s often the case with words that have high psychological impact. “Terrorism” is absolutely one of the worst offenders.
There appear to be over 100 definitions of the word in use by different groups. I suspect one reason there’s no commonly accepted definition is simply that the term has become so useful for people in power, at once a pejorative for enemies and a catch-all for prosecutors. The latter was demonstrated in the 2008 Liberty Dollar case, when a US Attorney characterized the issuance of the silver rounds as “a unique form of domestic terrorism.”

It is possible for an entire nation to suffer depression? Not the financial, but the emotional kind.
I have not spoken to anyone, however, that has expressed any optimism about the state of the nation and the air is full of conspiracy theories regarding what new action Barack Obama might take. The most popular of these is that he will declare “a national emergency” in order to assert powers that would put him in control of the nation without reference or consultation with Congress.

In July 2008, presidential candidate Barack Obama vowed to create a “civilian national security force that’s just as powerful, just as strong, just as well-funded” as the U.S. military.

Apparently no one else in the national press found that promise newsworthy, because I was the first to call it to the attention of the public days later. Interestingly, the pledge had been stricken from transcripts of the speech handed out to media.
What ever happened to the “civilian national security force” initiative? No one in the press has dared to ask that question.
But two recent developments suggest Obama may have found an innovative way to achieve his objectives to militarize the homefront without creating a new national security force:
In December, both houses of Congress passed the defense reauthorization bill that killed the concept of habeas corpus – legislation that authorized the president to use the U.S. military to arrest and indefinitely detain American citizens without charge or trial.
This week, over the objections of Joint Chiefs of Staff…..

Reasons provided by the US and coalition forces for the incursion into Libya is that the West is protecting innocent people from slaughter – a storyline that only sheep of state sponsored television could believe considering that the government of Bahrain allowed hundreds of Saudi troops to help quell the rebellion that threatened their monarchy. Government sponsored police forces are authorized to eliminate anyone who threatens the government, including unarmed protesters, many of who were shot in drive by executions:
The US and Western coalitions pick and choose which innocent civilians are worthy of saving, and many have suggested that this is due to one specific reason. If you haven’t guessed, it’s closely related to the oil and gas reserves in the region, but according to Conn Hallinan, it’s a much broader strategy that boils down to regional energy control. The Saudis, being close allies of the US (for today, at least) have a pass to cleanse protesters who would threaten stability. Libya, of course, is lead by a dictator, thus he has to go – just like the Syrian leadership.

President Ronald Reagan’s Attorney General, Ed Meese, has said Barack Obama’s non-recess “recess appointments” have pushed the nation dangerously “close to a constitutional crisis.”
Appearing on Neil Cavuto’s program on the Fox Business channel, Meese said the appointments of Richard Cordray to serve as director of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) and three pro-union members of the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) were historically unprecedented and violated constitutional order. He noted that since the House did not give consent for the Senate to go on recess for more than three days, nor did the Senate go into recess, there was no recess; thus, the president could not legally make a recess appointment.

Does the government work for us or do we work for the government? Is it possible for us to change Washington by by-passing Washington? Tonight, what do governments hate because they can’t control?
In America, the government seems to control everything. Light bulbs, shoe leather, refrigerators, water strength in your shower; your banker, your doctor, your lawyer all are regulated beyond belief. What is it in America that the feds cannot control? The answer is simple. Human nature. We need to eat and we need to move about; and that means we will use the free market, with or without the government.
Every capable human on earth engages in market exchanges, even in those countries where it’s illegal. Through all of known history, humans have advanced civilization by building up the avenues of trade so as to increase their standards of living. When you buy a loaf of bread or a gallon of gas, you are freely choosing to engage in what remains of the free market. I emphasize the phrase “what remains,” because, when you buy bread, you are paying the local or state government a tax for a product that was baked under conditions set forth by the feds and one of the fifty states, and when you buy fuel for your car, up to one quarter of the cost of the fuel consists of state and federal sales taxes. I believe that sales taxes constitute a grand theft concocted by politicians and bureaucrats so as to provide them with a never-ending supply of cash which they can use to bribe people for their votes. Sales taxes also make items that we need more expensive.

Reporting from Concord, N.H.— Long before his jump in the polls, Rick Santorum stood out for his debate battles with Ron Paul. The two were back at it on a bigger stage in a morning debate here just days before the New Hampshire primary, with Santorum branding the Texas congressman as an ineffective legislator that would make for a dangerous commander in chief.
“He’s never really passed anything of any import,” Santorum charged. “And one of the reasons people like Congressman Paul is his economic plan. He’s never been able to accomplish any of that. He has no track record of being able to work together. He’s been out there on the margins.”

Last night on the lobotomy box I encountered yet another candidate for the presidency, a Mr. Sanctorum, threatening to make war on Iran. I can’t decide whether the idea is more frightening than fascinating, or fascinating than frightening. I do suggest that the combined candidates do not have the military competence of a stuffed bear. Given that the principlal business of the United States is war and preparation for it, do we want a martial analphabetic in charge? One does not let children play with chain saws. (From all of this I exempt Ron Paul, who appears to be sane.)
To save the republic, if any, from another routine military disaster, I offer the following thoughts.

…..Obama is, however, not my main concern. It is the endemic corruption in Washington, D.C., both Republican and Democrat, which has facilitated Obama’s rise to power. To me Obama is simply the most egregious example of that corruption and just the tip of the iceberg.

I believe that Obama needs to be brought down legally before the 2012 election, which will go a long way to end corruption in Washington, D.C. because the bipartisan corruption will then be fully exposed to the American people.
In my opinion, not one of the Republican Presidential candidates will address Obama’s ineligibility or his felonies. They will continue to ignore or bury the evidence, even after a Republican victory over Obama because there are too many senior Republicans complicit in the cover-up.

The President and the Defense Secretary announced $487 billion in cuts over 10 years to the DOD. This includes tens of thousands of troops from the Army and the Marines. In 2013 another $500 billion in cuts from the failure of the Budget Super Committee will increase the total $1 trillion. This continues the trend of over cutting the military in the wake of war. Each time it precipitated the events that led to the next conflagration.
At the same time the President has decided to give our missile defense codes to the Russians. These people who have never done anything but seek to subvert and destroy us in every way they can. They are building more missiles which they continue to aim at us. They will give those missile codes to the Chinese and the Iranians. The Chinese are in the midst of the greatest military build up of their history. Iran, a country which has a national policy that believes in the coming of the 12th Imam and plans to set the world on fire to welcome him. They seek nuclear weapons and have actively killed Americans in Iraq and Afghanistan with the knowledge and indifference of the American government. These are the people we are opening our missile defense to.

In this morning’s GOP presidential debate, NBC moderator David Gregory asked Texas Governor Rick Perry a question about electability.

Governor Perry took it a step further and laid out the three big questions primary voters should be asking themselves: “Who is it that can beat Obama? Who is it that can invigorate the tea party? Who is it that can take the message of smaller outsider government that’s truly going to change that place?”
While the mainstream media and party establishment have been obsessed with that first question for months, the other two have been virtually ignored in their zeal to push Republicans to settle once again for a non-conservative nominee. With the actual voting underway, it’s more than time to ask (and answer) those other two questions.
When it comes to invigorating the grassroots activists who were instrumental in the shellacking President Obama and his Congressional cronies took in the 2010 midterm elections, Governor Perry demonstrated once again that he is the candidate that can inspire the tea party.

Keith Little envisioned a place that would house the stories of the Navajo Code Talkers and where people could learn more about the famed World War II group who used their native language as a weapon.
His family now hopes to carry out his dream of a museum in Arizona that also will hold wartime memorabilia and serve as a haven for veterans. Little, one of the most recognizable of the remaining Code Talkers, died of melanoma Tuesday night at a Fort Defiance hospital, said his wife, Nellie. He was 87.
Little was 17 when he joined the U.S. Marine Corps, becoming one of hundreds of Navajos trained as Code Talkers. They used a code developed by 29 tribal members that was based on the then-unwritten Navajo language. Their code helped confound the Japanese and win the war.
“My motivation was to fight the enemy with a gun or whatever,” Little told The Associated Press in a July 2009 interview. “When I went into the Marine Corps … I knew nothing about the Navajo code. It was really astonishing to me to get to Camp Pendleton and there were a bunch of Navajos there, and they were working with a Navajo code.”

(Jan. 6, 2012)— At approximately 3:05 ET, Atty. Orly Taitz contacted The Post & Email following the hearing scheduled for today in Taitz v. Fuddy in the First Circuit Court in Honolulu with Judge Rhonda Nishimura. Astoundingly, although we are told that Nishimura was aware that Taitz was not available on January 26, 2012 because of a ballot challenge hearing in Atlanta, GA, she scheduled a hearing on the subpoena issued by the court in Georgia for the very same day.
Taitz said that because of the Motion for Reciprocal Subpoena Enforcement filed with the Hawaii court, Judge Nishimura was aware that Taitz could not be in both Hawaii and Georgia on that day.
Taitz is representing four presidential candidates and a registered voter in a challenge to the placement of Obama’s name on the Georgia state ballot in November, and on January 3, 2012, Judge Michael Malihi denied a motion filed by Obama’s attorney to dismiss the case in accordance with Georgia state law.

Does Obama hate America and therefore wish to destroy it?
(Jan. 8, 2012) — I have warned and written about this particular subject for over three years–since before Obama was elected–aka “coronated.“ It is only now that many others finally seem to be getting the message. However, this is not something to be criticized. It is to be applauded, as it means they are finally and inexorably awakening to the truth. They are to be applauded and not insulted. I noticed this morning that–after a few of the latest Obama assaults on the US Constitution and liberties of We-the-People–some in the media (not the Obama media of course) appear to at last to have come to the realization that Obama is and has been a dictator.
Even some members of our feckless and Obama-accommodating Congress are at last saying that Obama is acting in an “extra-Constitutional” (aka “illegal”; “unconstitutional”) and “dictatorial” manner. Even though it seems to have taken an inordinate amount of time for even these to ultimately admit that we are in a police state crisis, I applaud them for having the insight–albeit VERY delayed–to admit the destructive force that is working daily to eliminate the United States of America. We need all of the help we can muster.
Obama’s latest shredding of the US Constitution and replacing the USA’s 3-Branch Equal-Powers Federal Government system with his own dictatorship include but, are hardly limited to the following:
1. Removing local police presence from communities and replacing them with a federally-paid (that’s US taxpayer-paid) Obama-controlled National Police force. It is starting–in earnest–in Detroit.

The advocates of the State – these days, one variety of fascist or another – freak out at LRC. They pull out the long knives. But donations from our readers are the best armor. With our gifts last year, we were able to move our site to a freer country, with another foreign backup, and to redo the content management system to make the site more robust. We want to step up security, too, of course. But income minus expenses for 2011 leaves us more than $45,000 in the hole.

9. Deployment of U.S. Military On The Streets of America
It won’t take much for the President to declare an emergency or designate a certain area a battle zone at which point the United States military can and will be immediately deployed to quell civil unrest. If the economy gets as bad as we think it will, we can fully expect a significant response from the populace. Whether by chance or design, protests will eventually erupt into violence, and when that happens the President will be “left with no other choice” because our militarized police forces simply won’t be able to contain the situation. It’s been reported that over 20,000 U.S. troops have been trained in riot control and detention procedures, and that the Pentagon is actively preparing for large scale economic collapse and the civil unrest that would follow. They are ready. They need only a catalyst. It may happen in 2012, but it would require widespread, extreme circumstances to be justified, but be assured that there are those in our government who are more than willing and ready to pull the trigger.

Sony Pictures has apparently decided to push back the release of its “Kill Bin Laden” movie to an undetermined future date. Originally set for release on October 12, less than a month before Barack Hussein Obama will be standing for reelection, there is now no indication of when if ever it will be released.
But several odd details are making bloggers wonder just where the real truth about this postponement lies. For instance, movie makers Kathryn Bigelow and Mark Boal of “The Hurt Locker” fame “have been developing the project since 2008,” with plans to insert the May 2011 SEAL raid into this documentary. HUH? How much of the raid, excuse me, movie was “written” back in 2008?

Governor Reagan, you have been quoted in the press as saying that you’re doing a lot of speaking now on behalf of the philosophy of conservatism and libertarianism. Is there a difference between the two?
REAGAN: If you analyze it I believe the very heart and soul of conservatism is libertarianism. I think conservatism is really a misnomer just as liberalism is a misnomer for the liberals–if we were back in the days of the Revolution, so-called conservatives today would be the Liberals and the liberals would be the Tories.
The basis of conservatism is a desire for less government interference or less centralized authority or more individual freedom and this is a pretty general description also of what libertarianism is.
Now, I can’t say that I will agree with all the things that the present group who call themselves Libertarians in the sense of a party say, because I think that like in any political movement there are shades, and there are libertarians who are almost over at the point of wanting no government at all or anarchy.

Rep. Ron Paul (Texas) jabbed at Newt Gingrich during Saturday night’s Republican presidential debate for not serving in the military while advocating for foreign intervention as a candidate.

Paul had previously called Gingrich a “chickenhawk” for avoiding military service in his younger years, and did not back off from that line of attack during an ABC News/Yahoo! debate in New Hampshire.
“I’m trying to stop these wars, but at least I went when called,” he told Gingrich.
The former House Speaker fired back in a seething response, accusing Paul of having “a long history of saying things that are inaccurate and false…I personally resent the kind of comments and aspersions he typically makes.”
He went on to say that his father was a long-time member of the military with multiple tours of duty, adding, “I have a pretty good idea of what it’s like in a family to worry.”

Ron Paul returned to the spotlight Saturday night by attacking his rivals for the Republican nomination.

The Texas congressman launched ferocious attacks against Rick Santorum, who has surged in the polls recently, and Newt Gingrich.
Those two snapped back, leading to one of the most testy exchanges in the debate, and all frontrunner Mitt Romney had to do was sit back and watch his rivals tear each other down.
Paul, who is second in New Hampshire polls, got plenty of air time to make his attacks and all of the candidates involved in the exchanges found themselves playing defense against each other.

Ron Paul’s presidential campaign has hired a consulting firm to analyze the YouTube video critical of John Huntsman attributed to Paul’s supporters.
The analysis conducted by CanDo.com concludes that the video was posted by Huntsman supporters, not Ron Paul supporters. It was intended to provoke a backlash against Paul’s campaign.

MSNBC’s top executive said Saturday that he hasn’t decided whether conservative commentator and author Pat Buchanan will be allowed back on the network.
Buchanan, a former GOP presidential candidate and a paid MSNBC contributor, hasn’t been on the network since the publication of his book “Suicide of a Superpower” last October. The book has chapters titled “The End of White America” and “The Death of Christian America” and its author argues that the United States is in the “Indian summer of our civilization.”
“When Pat was on his book tour, because of the content of the book, I didn’t think it should be part of the national dialogue much less part of the dialogue on MSNBC,” said MSNBC President Phil Griffin. The minority advocacy group Color of Change has circulated a petition urging MSNBC to fire Buchanan.
Buchanan did appear for an interview about his book in October on Fox News Channel’s “Hannity,” where host Sean Hannity said, “welcome out of exile.”
