The GOP Establishment in Abject Panic: They Don’t Understand Their Own Base

January 23, 2012

BEGIN TRANSCRIPT

RUSH: Folks, the Republican establishment is in a full-blown panic. And I — and I’m not doing an I-told-you-so. This is a giant I-told-you-so. This is a reminder that I will illustrate. I told you this in almost the exact words you heard on television from Republican consultants and establishment people. I told you this was their fear back on November 10th of last year. They are in an out roar, a panic. They are secretly trying to get Mitch Daniels to get back in the race. There are entreaties being made to Bobby Jindal to get in the race.

(“Republican primary voters do not want Mitt Romney, even if the Republican establishment does — and it is just a question of which particular conservative alternative the voters prefer.”) ~ South Carolina Message (Thomas Sowell)

January 23, 2012 1 comment

Just days before the South Carolina primary, polls showed Mitt Romney leading Newt Gingrich. Then came the debates and the question about Gingrich’s private life, which brought a devastating response from the former Speaker of the House — and a standing ovation from the audience.

Apparently the television audience felt the same way, judging by the huge turnaround in the support for Gingrich. The stunning victory in South Carolina brought Newt’s candidacy back to life.

But the message from South Carolina was about more than a reaction to how Gingrich dealt with a cheap shot question from the media. Nor was it simply the Republican voters’ response to Newt’s mastery as a debater.

The more fundamental message is that the Republican primary voters do not want Mitt Romney, even if the Republican establishment does — and it is just a question of which particular conservative alternative the voters prefer.

The successive boomlets for Michele Bachmann, Rick Perry and Herman Cain showed the Republican voter’s constant search for somebody — anybody — as an alternative to Romney. The splintering of the conservative vote among numerous conservative candidates allowed Romney to be the “front-runner,” but he never ran far enough in front to get a majority.

Mitt Romney’s supposed “electability” — his acceptability to moderates and independents — has been his biggest selling point. Moreover, he is just the kind of candidate that the Republican establishment has preferred for years: a nice, bland, moderate who offends nobody.

This is the kind of candidate that is supposed to be the key to victory, no matter how many such candidates have gone down to defeat. If the bland and inoffensive moderate was in fact the key to victory, Dewey would have won a landslide victory over Truman in 1948, and John McCain would have beaten Barack Obama in 2008.

Whomever the Republicans choose as their candidate is going to have to run against both Barack Obama and the pro-Obama media. Newt Gingrich has shown that he can do that. Romney? Not so much. Mitt Romney’s fumbling when trying to answer the simple question of whether he would or would not release his income tax records is the kind of indecisiveness that is not going to cut it in a nationally televised debate with President Obama.

GOP presidential candidate Ron Paul issued the following statement on his campaign website this afternoon, following his son Rand’s treatment at the hands of the TSA in Nashville.

“The police state in this country is growing out of control. One of the ultimate embodiments of this is the TSA that gropes and grabs our children, our seniors, and our loved ones and neighbors with disabilities. The TSA does all of this while doing nothing to keep us safe.

“That is why my ‘Plan to Restore America,’ in additional to cutting $1 trillion dollars in federal spending in one year, eliminates the TSA.

“We must restore the freedom and respect for liberty that once made American the greatest nation in human history. I am deeply committed to doing that as President of the United States.”

High court: warrant needed for GPS tracking

January 23, 2012 Leave a comment

The Supreme Court ruled unanimously Monday that police must get a search warrant before using GPS technology to track criminal suspects.

The decision was a defeat for the government and police agencies, and it raises the possibility of serious complications for law enforcement nationwide, which increasingly relies on high tech surveillance of suspects, including the use of various types of GPS technology.

“The use of longer term GPS monitoring in investigations of most offenses impinges on expectations of privacy,” Alito wrote in an opinion joined by Justices Ruth Bader Ginsburg, Stephen Breyer and Elena Kagan. Sotomayor in her concurring opinion specifically said she agreed with Alito on this conclusion.

LBJ ‘Daisy Ad’ Changed American Politics, Author Says

January 23, 2012 2 comments

President Johnson’s daisy petals and mushroom clouds TV ad targeting Barry Goldwater only aired once officially during 1964 campaign. But it’s now recognized as one of the most iconic campaign ads of all time — with its influence on political advertising clearly evident today.

The story behind the ad reveals just how bold and transformative it was, Louisiana State University communications professor Robert Mann told ABC News’ “Top Line.” Mann is the author of “Daisy Petals and Mushroom Clouds: LBJ, Barry Goldwater, and the Ad That Changed American Politics.”

“It was an unusual way to start a presidential campaign. It was the first spot of that campaign by Johnson, going hard negative on Goldwater, but he wanted a mandate, and he wanted to go after Goldwater’s vulnerability, which was Goldwater’s reckless talk about nuclear war and nuclear weapons,” said Mann.

Senator Rand Paul Detained By the TSA

January 23, 2012 8 comments

Senator Rand Paul was on his way from his home in Bowling Green, Kentucky to Washington, D.C. Monday morning, when he caused some kind of “anomaly” in a body scanner at the airport in Nashville. Agents of the Transportation Security Agency declared that he would have to submit to one of those legendary full-body pat-downs, but before a single rubber glove had snapped into place, Senator Paul refused. He wanted a new scan instead, but the TSA agents really had their hearts set on that pat-down.

This ended with Senator Paul parked in a cubicle while his plane took off. The TSA insists he was not “detained,” according to a CBS News report. Perhaps Paul exclaimed that he wasn’t expecting the Spanish Inquisition, and the Comfy Chair had to be dragged out.

Coincidentally – it has to be a coincidence, right? – both Rand Paul and his father, congressman and Presidential candidate Ron Paul, have been very critical of the TSA, and enhanced pat-downs in particular, as CBS News notes:

In a June 2011 hearing, Paul told TSA administrator John Pistole, “I think you ought to get rid of the random pat-downs. The American public is unhappy with them, they’re unhappy with the invasiveness of them.”

After reports surfaced of young children getting intense, random pat-downs, Paul said in the hearing, “It just really just shows that no one is thinking… We need to be doing better police work and doing less of the universal giving up of our freedom to live our life the way we would like to live our life.”

Obama delays budget for 2013 [third time the administration has missed the legal deadline]

Obama delays budget for 2013 By Erik Wasson – 01/23/12 02:08 PM ET

President Obama will release his 2013 budget one week late, an administration official said Monday, the third time the administration has missed the legal deadline.

Under the law, the budget is to be released on the first Monday in February, but the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) will be releasing the 2013 budget on Feb. 13.

The Obama administration also delayed the release of the budget last year, waiting until Feb. 14.

House Budget Committee Chairman Paul Ryan (R-Wis.) said the delay is symptomatic of a fiscally reckless administration.

“I am deeply disappointed in this President’s abdication of leadership when it comes to prioritizing Americans’ hard-earned tax dollars. The decision to delay the release of his budget again could not come at a more precarious moment for our fiscal and economic future,” Ryan said.

“This will mark the third time in four years the President has missed his statutory requirement to present a budget on time, while trillion-dollar budget deficits continue to mount. As the President announces another missed deadline, tomorrow marks the 1,000th day Senate Democrats have gone without any budget at all.”

Defenders of the recently passed National Defense Authorization Act, which declares the entire world to be a “battlefield” against terrorism and authorizes the U.S. military to detain indefinitely anyone suspected of being a terrorism supporter, have claimed that the White House will only use its new power carefully and with due process. Opponents note that the White House has never hesitated to use any new authority, no matter how outrageous, and that the trend of law enforcement and security agencies is to expand on powers granted, not to rein them in or limit them.

The track record of the Obama administration on civil liberties is particularly bad, as it has broadened its definition of war powers, reneged on its promise to close Guantanamo Prison, and supported numerous dubious terrorism prosecutions. It has also become adept at silencing critics through the repeated exploitation of the state-secrets privilege, which effectively dismisses any case accusing the government of abuse or malfeasance.

So let us accept that the government now has the power to send a team of military police to anyone’s home in any state in the Union and can demand that that person surrender without any recourse to a lawyer or judicial due process. The military can then detain the individual incommunicado for any length of time and can presumably send him to Guantanamo for special confinement, claiming that the reason for the detention is support of terrorism, which can be almost anything, including a letter to the editor of the local paper complaining about the goonery of the Transportation Security Administration. Once in detention, the suspect only has such options as are granted to him by the military. He cannot see a lawyer, cannot invoke habeas corpus or other constitutional privileges, cannot confront any witnesses against him, and cannot challenge any information prejudicial to him even if it is hearsay or fabricated. In other words, the accused can be arrested for no reason and held indefinitely without any protections that enable him to push back against being detained. Most people would consider a criminal justice system that permits such detention ipso facto a police state.

Now let us accept for a moment that the White House and Justice Department are

Kentucky Senator Rand Paul was briefly detained this morning after a standoff incident with TSA officers In Nashville.

Rand Paul Detained By TSA Over Pat Down Standoff randpaulresized

In a telephone interview with AP, Rand Paul confirmed that an “anomaly” on his knee was picked up by a full body scanner. Paul said he asked for another scan, but the TSA insisted he submit to a pat down by airport security.

After refusing the pat-down, Paul said he was then “detained” in a small cubicle and consequently missed a flight to Washington for a Senate session. Paul was also due to speak at the March for Life later today in DC.

He also said that the incident highlights how the TSA should not be “spending so much time with people who wouldn’t attack us.”

The story broke when Paul’s communications director tweeted that the Senator was asked to walk through a full body scanner and set off an alarm “on a glitch”.

The Paul staffer wrote “Just got a call from @senrandpaul. He’s currently being detained by TSA in Nashville.”

“I spoke with him five minutes ago and he was being detained indefinitely,” Paul staffer Moira Bagley elaborated Monday morning. “The image scan went off, he refused patdown.”

It’s Still a Two-Man Race Between Paul and Romney

Newt Gingrich can’t be President. Not because of his $1.6 million Freddie Mac scandal, or his fake charity scandal, or his $300,000 ethics fine while Speaker, the arms dealer scandal, or any of his other personal and financial scandals. Newt Gingrich (or Rick Santorum) can’t be President because to be nominated, you need delegates.

Newt has lots of media coverage, but in the physical world where campaigns actually occur he can’t get 1141 delegates.

No candidates besides Paul and Romney filed in all the states:

VA – no Gingrich or Santorum – 49 delegates

MO – no Gingrich – 52 delegates, non-binding primary

D.C. – no Santorum – 19 delegates

So that’s 101 lost for Gingrich, and 68 lost for Santorum.

Then, even when your campaign stops its Aegean cruise long enough to file, you still have to get people to sign up as delegates. Santorum and Gingrich only have partial slates of delegates in IL, OH, and TN, which together represent 193 delegates. They are missing different numbers of delegates, but these losses push Gingrich down to levels where he would have to have landslides in all the remaining states.

Prison Planet.com » Voter Fraud: Dead People Cast Over 950 Ballots In South Carolina

January 23, 2012 2 comments

Several more strange eyewitness stories emerge indicating potential widespread vote deception

Voter Fraud: Dead People Cast Over 950 Ballots In South Carolina Why isnt all voting held on Saturdays H1SBLQH x large

Yet more evidence of voter fraud has emerged, this time in the wake of Saturday’s primary in South Carolina, where it was reported that at least 953 votes had been cast by people who were listed as dead.

The Associated Press reports that South Carolina’s attorney general, Alan Wilson, has notified the U.S. Justice Department of potential voter fraud in the Palmetto State this weekend.

“In a letter dated Thursday, Wilson says the analysis found 953 ballots cast by voters listed as dead. In 71 percent of those cases, ballots were cast between two months and 76 months after the people died. That means they ‘voted’ up to 6 1/3 years after their death.”

Wilson has asked the State Law Enforcement Division to investigate the situation.

In addition to stories that have emerged from both Iowa and New Hampshire in the past few days, the revelations once again suggest that voter fraud has become a common occurrence throughout the country.

The same situation occurred last week in New Hampshire, where the State attorney general also raised questions over possible voter fraud.

A d v e r t i s e m e n t

The Union Leader reported that activists obtained ballots as dead people because they weren’t ID’ed.

One activist posted video of himself walking into New Hampshire Polling locations during the Presidential Primaries, and asking for the ballots of deceased residents. The man had obtained the names from local obituaries.

“The names of the deceased were both Registered Republican and Democrats And in almost every case, saying a dead person’s name, we were handed a ballot to cast a vote.” wrote the activist on his Youtube channel.

None of the allegedly fraudulently obtained ballots was actually cast.

Watch the video:

Associate Attorney General Richard Head confirmed his office had learned about the possible fraud on election day and immediately began investigating. “That investigation is ongoing,” he said. “Based on the information received on Election Day and the information on the video, we are undertaking a comprehensive review of voting procedures with the Secretary of State,” the report states.

MISUSE OF GOVERNMENT PROPERTY, CONSPIRACY, MISPRISION OF FELONY?

by Sharon Rondeau

Can the U.S. Department of Justice fail to prosecute federal law-breakers?

(Jan. 23, 2012) — Numerous graphics, typesetting, Adobe® and scanning professionals have claimed that the long-form birth certificate image bearing the alleged details of Barack Hussein Obama II’s birth presented to the public on April 27, 2012 is a forgery. If that is the case, which federal statutes have been violated, if any, by placing the image on federal government property? How many people might have participated in the crime, and what might the penalties be?

If the Hawaii Department of Health has been obfuscating the fact that they have no birth certificate bearing Obama’s name, or that what they have is falsified, of which crime(s) are they guilty?

If people within the Democrat National Committee or Democrat Party knew that identity theft had been committed and a “synthetic identity” presented to the American people as a ruse to win a presidential election, are they guilty of conspiracy?

If Obama ran for president under a false identity with a fabricated life story, was he ever really the President?

DEVVY’s EMAIL ALERTS: AN EXTRAORDINARY SET OF CIRCUMSTANCES…

DEVVY”s EMAIL ALERTS: AN EXTRAORDINARY SET OF CIRCUMSTANCES…

In my lifetime I’ve never seen anything as bizarre as what’s happening now regarding Obama/Soetoro.

Consider this:

The usurper is going to give the State of the Union Address tomorrow night, Tuesday, Jan. 24, 2012. Mr. Cool will stand at the podium in front of the full Outlaw Congress, Supreme Court Justices and other “luminaries” knowing full well his game of fraud might just be on the cliff. But, as a very practiced, pathological liar, the serial vacationer will no doubt yuk it up while trying to look serious reading how many teleprompters?

Two days later, Barry is required to respond to a subpoena to bring all his records to court in Georgia to prove his eligibility to run for the office he has usurped.

Unless his attorney’s can get an emergency stay of some sort between now and Thursday, Jan. 26, 2012 – the imposter president of these united States of America will be in a court room
in Georgia or be held in contempt.

When you think about it, it really is an extraordinary set of circumstances.

Of course the “mainstream” media and cable network anchors and news desks have remained mute. They play the numbers game hoping the cattle will be content with the drivel they serve up. I know there was local coverage in Georgia, but other than WND and other independent news sites, the lock down on what’s happening with that looming court date has been complete.

Leo Donofrio, for those who might not know, was the first individual to challenge the eligibility of Obama/Soetoro, McCain and a third candidate for ballot qualification in New Jersey in 2008.

Leo has filed an amicus brief with the court in that Georgia case; actually there are three sets of plaintiffs:

http://naturalborncitizen.wordpress.com/

“This morning, I filed an AMICUS BRIEF in the Georgia POTUS eligibility cases. The brief complies with all Rules and procedures of the Administrative Court. The brief is 54 pages, and the appendix is 155 pages. The Rules of Court require attachment to the brief of all legal authorities, other than those issued by the federal government, or the State of Georgia. There’s some very esoteric law attached thereto.

“I seriously urge everyone to familiarize themselves with Lord Coke’s Report from Calvin’s Case, as well as Chancellor Ellesmere’s argument, also in Calvin’s Case, for this is the true common law genesis of jus soli subjection, which happens to be a uniquely Christian tenet of law that has been completely misunderstood in this country for too long now. Calvin’s Case is universally recognized as the common law precedent relating to jus soli, but it is so much more fascinating than you can imagine. And it will forever revolutionize understanding of the words “natural-born”.

A Civilian-Military Face Off?

January 23, 2012 Leave a comment

On July 26, 2007, another 13 American soldiers were killed in Iraq; while Congress is on their month long vacation, our soldiers will continue dying in this unconstitutional invasion built on a mountain of lies.

Kids sent into war unprepared for what it really means. The tragic results are everywhere and this is just one example: Marine: Unit Was Ordered to ‘Crank Up Violence Level’ in Iraq. “I don’t see it as an execution, sir,” he told the judge, according to the newspaper. “I see it as killing the enemy.”

He said Marines consider all Iraqi men part of the insurgency. “Because of the way they live, the clans, they’re all in it together,” he said.” That whole mess is just one tragedy after another. Just to digress a moment, remember this newspaper I scanned years ago? See here. What it says that should chill everyone:

“Some Marines say they can see the day when the Corps will be required to execute Haiti-like missions, or worse, within the borders of the United States….Because of the rising potential for civil disobedience within the inner cities, it is inevitable the U.S. military will be employed more often within American borders….

To enable the Marines to execute these new domestic missions in the same way that they do abroad, Major Reeves calls for major alterations in U.S. laws.” Sacramento Bee (scanned here: Forum section), November 30, 1997:

Our civilian-military face off – The Bill of Rights no obstacle for Corps”…..

J.B. William’s article attacking Ron Paul, released on December 30, 2011 on NewsWithViews.com, perhaps deserves (I use the word loosely) a response. Williams’ assumes a lot and qualifies virtually nothing. Timothy N. Baldwin — Diffusion of Responsibility and the Constitution Soaked in Urine

January 23, 2012 1 comment

Diffusion of Responsibility’ Inherent in the United States Constitution

…..The United States Constitution separates the function and power of the federal government into three branches. Each branch has distinct purposes, duties, and responsibilities. Within each branch, there are multiple parts which comprise its unit. The law’s existence and the constitution’s enforcement rely on each branch. In addition, there is a fourth “branch” within the structure: the people. Where the three branches have collectively or individually failed, the people can remedy and cure by replacing the officers or amending the constitution.

Theoretically, no one action unilaterally taken will irretrievably damage the constitution or country. It requires everyone’s “consent” (e.g. lack of physical opposition) to move in that direction. Inherent within the federal system is a diffusion of responsibility and power, horizontally and vertically. Any one person within the diffused system cannot be identified solely as the responsible party to a denounced action. Politicians have a lot of cover under which to hide and seemingly have faithful supporters regardless.

While this separation has advantages, it has some inherent flaws. These flaws namely involve (1) the inability of the people to identify the sources of the political problems, and (2) the tendency of office-holders to rely on the system to correct errors or biases in their own judgment. Both of these characteristics pull the system in a direction not necessarily created or intended in the constitution.

And Russian police have been in Southern towns like Beaumont, Mississippi (see The Beaumont, November 9, 1994), with one Russian officer even assisting in the arrest of 3 people in western North Carolina (see The Lincoln Gazette, March 12, 1995).

WAPWG’s world government was to be called the World Organization (WO) and it would “take over the existing facilities of the United Nations Organization.” According to its Charter, the WO would be “coordinating, and if necessary directing, the production and distribution of basic food stuffs, raw and strategic materials.” It would have a World Security Force but “personnel will abide for purposes of Military Law and discipline under their own national, union, or commonwealth codes until such time as it appears suitable for a standardization to take place…. All trade agreements between Governments and their plans for future development of basic needs will be coordinated by World Organization.

Unfortunately, the source of this story is the Daily Mail. What’s worse is that I’m not able to find any other source that doesn’t reference the Daily Mailpiece. It says that the mass burial took place on Wednesday (January 18, 2011).

This is not a new practice.

I found this, from last year:

After uncovering the desecration scandal at Burr Oak Cemetery in 2009, Cook County Sheriff Tom Dart on Thursday called for legislation to reform indigent burials in Cook County.

Dart pointed to complaints at Homewood Memorial Gardens, which has held the county contract for indigent burials since 1980. He cited babies being buried 10 to 15 to a box, some with animal remains.

“From a law enforcement standpoint, it’s disturbing,” Dart said. “From a human standpoint, it’s appalling.”

Is this just par for the course in the U.S. now? The new normal? Nothing to see here?

Legalizing Drugs Is Constitutional

Legalizing Drugs Is Constitutional

Townhall.com ^ | January 23, 2012 | Katie Kieffer

I believe that states have the constitutional right to legalize drugs. For, the Constitution is silent on the federal government’s ability to regulate or ban substances that adults choose to digest at their own peril—or medical relief.

The Constitution is so silent on this matter of individual liberty (choosing to digest or use drugs) that in order to ban the sale of alcohol during the Prohibition era, we passed the 18th Amendment. When we wised up and realized that banning alcohol doesn’t work, we repealed the 18th Amendment via the 21st Amendment. I contend that federal drug laws are unconstitutional because they do not stem from a constitutional amendment……

Google is no friend of Internet freedom (SOPA warriors – don’t lose sight of Net Neutrality)

January 23, 2012 1 comment

For the better part of a decade, companies like Google and IAC/InterActiveCorp have been pushing for the federal government to regulate the Internet in the name of net neutrality, and I’ve been fighting them every step of the way.

We beat them in Congress.

We beat them in the courts.

We beat them in public opinion.

But we lost to them on a 3-2 party line vote at the Federal Communications Commission, led by long-time IAC/InterActiveCorp general counsel turned FCC chairman Julius Genachowski. The FCC’s unlawful order gives that commission the self-appointed power to regulate how the broadband networks that comprise the Internet operate. (At least until courts again weigh in and stop them.)

(“Republicaism Wasn’t Always Rotten”) ~ Reflections Upon Republicanism: From Jefferson to Van Buren by Charles A. Burris

January 23, 2012 2 comments

Out of the American Revolution emerged a unique political ideology or system of belief – republicanism.

Portrait of Thomas Jefferson by Rembrandt Peal...

Image via Wikipedia

Whether Anti-Federalist or Federalist, Democratic-Republican or Federalist, Democratic-Republican or National-Republican, Democrat or Whig, this vision lay at the center of Americans’ beliefs. It remains today the root of what we as a people believe. Political debate then, as now, centers upon who has remained most true to this vision.

Republicanism was a political outlook centering upon the themes of liberty versus power and civic virtue versus political corruption. The main lesson of republicanism was that a virtuous citizenry preserved its freedom by keeping government within strict constitutional bounds. Corruption and big government went hand in hand, for only government could rig the market in favor of an artificial aristocracy. Revolutionary republicanism was nurtured in the early republic by such Virginians as Thomas Jefferson, James Madison, John Randolph of Roanoke, and John Taylor of Caroline.

Gerald Celente on Trend Forecasting and the Crisis of Western Civilization

January 23, 2012 2 comments

Introduction: Forecasting trends since 1980, Mr. Gerald Celente, Founder/Director of the Trends Research Institute, is author of the highly acclaimed and best selling books, Trend Tracking and Trends 2000 (Warner Books) and publisher of the Trends Journal. Using his unique perspectives on current events forming future trends, Gerald Celente developed the Globalnomic® methodology which is used to identify, track, forecast and manage trends. His on-time trend forecasts, vibrant style, articulate delivery and vivid public presence makes him a favorite of major media. The Trends Research Institute has earned the reputation as “today’s must trusted name in trends” for accurate and timely predictions. On the geopolitical and economic fronts, Celente and The Trends Research Institute are credited with predicting the collapse of the Soviet Union, the last two economic recessions, the dot-com meltdown, the 1997 Asian currency crisis, the 1987 world stock market crash, increased terrorism against America, “Crusades 2000,” the quagmire in Iraq … before war began and much more.

Daily Bell: Give us some background on yourself and how you have come to your current success.

Gerald Celente: My background is such that after graduate school and I got my Masters in Public Administration, I started running political campaigns in Westchester County in New York, which is a very affluent area. I was very successful at it so they sent me up to Albany, where I became the assistant to the secretary of the New York State Senate; Albany, of course, is the capital of New York State. It was there that I really started learning about the political game. It was probably the worst job I ever had because it was watching grown men suck up and bow down all day to get to the top.

So from there I taught at St. John’s University and it was the nation’s first course in American politics and campaign technology – how to run a political campaign. From there I moved to Chicago and was a government affairs specialist for the chemical industry. I used to put together, when they were just being formed, political action committees. So I would hire the people, do the work to get legislation overturned or get different legislation passed. So I have been around the political scene long enough to have a good feel of it.

Then in the late 1970s it was that lightbulb moment, and Jimmy Carter had just come back from Iran. The Iranian conflict was heating up and, ironically, it is just heating up as we are speaking now. Not much has changed; only the names and players. So Carter comes back from spending New Year’s Eve with the Shah and his wife and announces that the Shah is the “Island of Stability” in the Middle East. At that moment I became a political atheist. I’d been following this thing for years. I knew how the United States government and the MI5 in the UK overthrew the democratically elected government of Mossaddegh in Iran, in 1953, because he had the NERVE to nationalize the oil fields, take it away from Anglo-Iranian oil – better known today as BP and Standard Oil, better known today as Exxon. So I knew also what a brutal dictator the Shah was and how he had imprisoned and slaughtered and tortured tens of thousands of people. So when a revolution broke out, I knew it was real and I knew that Carter was lying to the American people and the world……

Prison Planet.com » Substance Over Style: Why Paul Can Win and Gingrich Can’t

January 23, 2012 2 comments

The results in South Carolina were not a rejection of Ron Paul. They were a rejection of Mitt Romney. The results in South Carolina were not an embracement of Newt Gingrich. They were an embracement of someone who was not Mitt Romney.

South Carolina’s results were also an embracement of something more base and emotional that many GOP voters are obviously hungry for.

When South Carolina Congressman Joe Wilson yelled “you lie!” at Obama during the President’s State of the Union speech in 2009, he became a hero to conservatives—not for any specific policy stances or political positions, but simply for yelling at the president. They liked that Wilson challenged Obama.

When Newt Gingrich dressed down CNN’s John King at the beginning of Thursday night’s debate, he became an instant hero to many conservatives. This gave Newt a resounding victory in the South Carolina primary. Most pundits and probably even Gingrich himself would not disagree with this analysis.

But like Wilson, Newt’s newfound popularity is not based on any of his particular policy stances or political positions. It’s personality-based. In fact, when you examine Gingrich’s actual record andrhetoric, you find a mountain of material that proves Newt to be anything but conservative.

The West is headed to dictatorship. It’s already happening. The merger of state and corporate power is by definition called fascism. I just mentioned the Defense Authorization Act. Before you had that you had the abrogation of the Constitution under Bush, with the Patriot Act, which Obama reinstated and made even tougher by signing this bill. When I say the merger of state and corporate powers, look at the $16.1 trillion that the Federal Reserve has funneled into businesses around the world. Whatever happened to that thing called capitalism? This is not capitalism; it’s fascism! The more societies break down and the bigger the screw-ups at the top, the harder they clamp down on the bottom. You see it going on around the world; they call it austerity measures. How about calling it enslavement?” – Gerald Celente, “Gerald Celente on Trend Forecasting and the Crisis of Western Civilization,” The Daily Bell, January 22, 2012.

“There is no doubt, in my view, that the elites practiced directed history in the 20th century, setting up wars and economic catastrophes designed to consolidate world government. But in the 21st century, with so many understanding and evaluating the mechanisms of the elites, this is a considerably harder trick to pull off.” – Anthony Wile, “Yes, The War for the Internet Has Begun,” The Daily Bell, January 21, 2012.

Al-Media, not Al-Qaeda, is the biggest threat to Western freedom and global security.

Prison Planet.com » More On Ron Paul

January 23, 2012 13 comments

If Ron Paul’s libertarian handlers and support base could escape their ideology, Ron Paul could be much better positioned to win the Republican nomination.

Here are some suggestions.

Ron Paul should be making the point that Social Security and Medicare are threatened by multi-trillion dollar wars that are funded by debt, by bailouts of a deregulated banking system, and by money creation to keep the banks afloat. Libertarians support deregulation, but their position has always been that deregulated industries must not be bailed out with public subsidies, much less subsidies that are so extensive that they threaten government solvency and the value of the currency.

The Self-Destruction of the Mainstream Media

American Thinker ^ | January 23, 2012 | Steve McCann

Posted on Monday, January 23, 2012 6:54:00 AM by radioone

For the past forty years the mainstream media has become increasingly liberal and more overt in promoting the policies of the Democratic Party. This evolutionary process reached its zenith in 2008 when the media were instrumental in Barack Obama being elected President. Many journalists dropped any pretense of objectivity and became not only cheerleaders but active de facto members of the campaign. What has their loyalty and prostration achieved for the journalism community? During the past two decades no other sector of the economy has experienced such overwhelming financial and employment devastation.

Yet the vast majority of the media do not understand why theirs is a declining and failing business model. They are still in denial and cannot accept the reality of the marketplace, as their actions have prompted the American public to lose all confidence in their objectivity and integrity.
