Dave Daubenmire — The world is enveloped in confusion
This is what the American government-school system has given us. They are nothing more than indoctrination centers where young children are taught WHAT to think rather than HOW to think. They crumble the foundations of the American society like a silent jack-hammer.
Our churches are not much better. Most church-goers salivate at every word that their “pastor” speaks from the pulpit. They are not encouraged to do as the Berean Christians did who “searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so. “God said it, I believe it, that settles it.”
But are you sure God said it? Have you “searched the Scriptures” to verify the Truth of what you are being taught? Or are you merely walking lock-step with “the word” from your pastor?
Why do you think there are so many denominations? It is because somebody found a “different angle” on what the Bible teaches. How do you know what you are being taught is the Truth?
I know, your pastor is a “man of God?” Does that mean that someone who disagrees with your pastor’s doctrine is NOT a “man of God?” Does any church or denomination have a corner on Truth?
Speaking in tongues, not speaking in tongues, submersion in baptism verses sprinkling, pre-trib rapture verse post-trib rapture, tithing is required verse voluntary giving, Sunday worship verses Sabbath worship…the “church” has just as many “opinions” of the Truth as Fox News. Just like Cable News, the church “expert” believes he is right and everyone else is wrong.
We have been programmed both in the church and in the culture. We are no longer able to “discern the Truth” on our own. We need someone like Rush Limbaugh, some expert, to tell us what to believe…to be out “truth detector.” ( I thought that was the job of the Holy Spirit?)

I cannot attend church because the politics there are as bad or worse than those concerning our government.
In church, if you are not one of the rich that support the church with tithes you are tolerated and expected to work at all the fund raising functions and stand at the door and smile and shake hands with people while acting as if you are as pure as the fallen snow. But, you are not a real member of the church, you have no say about what goes on, you have no vote when the decision on whether or not to dismiss the current pastor needs to be made.
I would rather pray at home than tolerate a bunch of of people with “holier than thou” attitudes. Can you imagine, these pillars of the church actually go home to their basement bars and drink alcohol after attending services in their church that abhors the use of alcohol. These are the same people that pass you on the highway going 10 – 20 miles over the speed limit. They are willing to risk your life because they wouldn’t leave earlier and travel at a safer speed (not that they would.)
The politicians we sent to Washington are treating us the same way. We are good enough to sing in the choir but not good enough to pick the hymns to be sung.
Its time we remind those at the top how they got there. We must also remind them that we put them where they are and we can take them down from there lofty perches. We must also remind them that there is only one hymnal to be used in the church of government and that is the Constitution.
Our Constitution guarantees us the rights bestowed upon us by the Creator and so wisely enforced by our Founders. Its time we all stopped tolerating politicians that have forgotten “We the People” and have begun to think that they are a whole lot closer to God than they are.
