Reports: Jeb Bush says 2012ers are ‘appealing to people’s fears’

Former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush (R) said Thursday that he found it “troubling” that the 2012 presidential candidates are “appealing to people’s fears and emotion” on the campaign trail, according to reports.

Bush expressed concern about the type of rhetoric that the candidates were using, without getting specific or naming names.

“I used to be a conservative and I watch these debates and I’m wondering, I don’t think I’ve changed, but it’s a little troubling sometimes when people are appealing to people’s fears and emotion rather than trying to get them to look over the horizon for a broader perspective and that’s kind of where we are,” said Bush, according to Fox News.

“I think it changes when we get to the general election. I hope,” he added, reported wire service UPI.

He also asserted that it was important for the presidential candidates to appeal not only to Republican primary voters, but independent voters as well.

“I think it’s important for the candidates to recognize though they have to appeal to primary voters, and not turn off independent voters that will be part of a winning coalition,” he said, according to CBS.

Bush made the comments while answering questions from the audience after a speech in Dallas.

The former Florida governor has not endorsed any of the Republicans currently running for president.

Jeb Bush is correct. Why are the candidates running for the Presidency calling each other names and not talking about what the people want to hear?? We want to know what they will do for our country if they are elected as the President of the United States. Not one single candidate is perfect or will they ever be perfect.

What good does it do to point fingers and mention the bad they have done. They are forgetting what is important. We need someone to help bring back our economy, we need someone to stop apologizing and making us look like fools,we need someone who will help bring down the cost of the high gas prices,we need someone who will create jobs,we need someone who will help those who have lost their homes and we definitely need someone who will protect our country.

The reason that most people including myself that have not decided on who to vote for to run against Obama is because none of them seem trustworthy. They all say what they want us to hear and when they are finally in the White House all the promises go right out the door. How can we trust any of them??

I will say one thing though. Anyone of them will be better than the useless good for nothing President we have now. He can blame Bush all he wants, but it is 1000 time worse since he became our President.
I get sick just thinking of him in the White House for another 4 years. God help us.
