Quite a few people have emailed me begging me to critically review Bill O’Reilly’s new book, Killing Lincoln, about the assassination. They do this not because they have read the book, which is a big, boring bag of nothingness, but because they’ve heard O’Reilly spout the neocon party line about “Father Abraham” on his television show and they smell a rat.

I’ve …read the book, and it really is a big bunch of nothing. All it is is a narrative of the events leading up to the assassination. Over 100 books are already in print on the subject, and all O’Reilly and his coauthor do is cut and paste what others have written on the subject, but without including a single footnote!
The authors also have the annoying habit of writing things like, “in his mind, he was thinking that . . . ” as though they could know what Lincoln was thinking when he did this or that 150 years ago. This is a standard practice of the “Lincoln scholars,” who also constantly claim to know what was “in his heart” (nothing but love and kindness, of course) in their writings.
There is nothing at all in O’Reilly’s book about Lincoln’s policies and behavior in office. There is nothing about his statist economic policies, his trashing of the Constitution by illegally suspending Habeas Corpus and mass arresting thousands of Northern political dissenters, his intentionally waging war on Southern civilians in violation of all moral and legal codes regarding warfare, his lifelong obsession with deporting all black people, free or slave, from America, etc. In addition, it is apparently so full of historical errors that it has been banned from the bookstore at Ford’s Theater, the famous site of the assassination.

Republican Iowa Senator Chuck Grassley is fed up with The History Channel’s programming and took his rage out on Twitter, unleashing a fury of tweets, chewing out the network for their reality programming and lack of actual historical shows.

In a remarkable video posted to Youtube yesterday, Rick Santorum tells a man attending one of his events that if he supports limited government and debt reduction he should “go vote for Ron Paul.”
In the brief clip, the man who describes himself as an independent voter, questions Santorum’s record and support for big government programs like Medicare Part D, No Child Left Behind, and five debt ceiling increases, while he was a Senator from Pennsylvania.
“What is limited government about that sir?” the man asks Santorum.
A visibly annoyed Santorum fires back “Vote for Ron Paul, that’s what you should do.”

So there you have it from Santorum himself. If you actually care about scaling back spending, reducing the debt and limiting federal government over reach, Ron Paul is the only candidate to vote for.
The Ron Paul campaign has directly targeted Santorum’s record in recent weeks, making the case that it is a myth that Santorum is in any way a fiscal conservative, as he claims to be.
Paul has been running an ad, entitled simply “Fake”, that points out how Santorum has not voted conservatively on many big issues.

The transgendered individual, named Turdi, nannied Obama when the future president and his mother and Indonesian stepfather Lolo Soetoro lived in a suburb of Jakarta in the 1960s. Turdi subsequently spent time as a sex worker and now lives in the slums. Obama did not contact Turdi when he visited Jakarta in 2010 and 2011.

The Department of Justice will ask a federal court to uphold the secrecy that surrounds the working relationship between Google and the National Security Agency in a hearing that is scheduled for next week.
Privacy watchdog group The Electronic Privacy Information Center (EPIC) is returning to court once again in an effort to disclose more information regarding the widely publicized partnership between the spy agency and the search engine giant.
EPIC is suing to obtain documents that detail the relationship, and will appeal against the NSA’s so-called “Glomar” response, claiming it “could neither confirm nor deny” the existence of any information about its relations with Google, because “such a response would reveal information about NSA’s functions and activities.”

According to a recently released poll by the left-leaning Public Policy Polling, 45% of likely GOP primary voters in Alabama believe that Barack Hussein Obama is a Muslim. 41% of those polled were unsure and only 14% responded that they believe that Mr. Obama is a Christian. Similar results were obtained in Mississippi where 52% of respondents said they believe that Obama is a Muslim, while 36% claimed they were not sure and only 12% said they believe Obama is a Christian.

We are living in strange times.
The Russian news service Pravda has written an extremely detailed article not only about Sheriff Joe Arpaio’s revelation of the forgery of Obama’s birth certificate and Selective Service document,but has picked up on the long-time charge of Obama’s obvious usurping of the presidency by ignoring the natural born clause of the U.S. Constitution. What is strange about this? Only that the article decries—almost mocks—the total mainstream media blackout.
The mainstream media couldn’t simply pretend that Arpaio’s news conference didn’t occur,stuffing it down an Orwellian memory hole,so they came up with another Obamabot explanation:that Arpaio is simply paying back the DOJ and Obama for their various criminal investigations of his department. This has been repeated ad nauseam before and after the press conference as if Arpaio has already been charged and convicted of these various “high crimes and misdemeanors.” Strangely,minutes after Arpaio’s conference,these various “charges” were repeated by a single Associated Press writer,Jacques Billeaud,and parroted verbatim within hours by literally hundreds of news organizations.
Billeaud’s basis for the dismissal of Arpaio forgery charges:“Some critics suggest Arpaio’s aim is to divert attention from his own legal troubles while raising his political profile as he seeks a sixth term this year. The sheriff vehemently denies such strategies are in play.”
Like the Body Snatchers movie,this blurb was used in hundreds if not thousands of news organizations and websites,and repeated not as opinion,which it is,but substantiated fact. Add to the news organizations that simply rewrote the article under someone else’s name and changed a few words,and this number would be in the tens of thousands. It makes the old Soviet Politburo in terms of speed and efficiency look like child’s play.
The “legal troubles” Billeaud refers to is Obama’s rogue DOJ alleging that Arpaio routinely uses racial profiling to make arrests,among other things. The evidence for this? When Arpaio,in customary fashion said,in effect,show me the money,DOJ,as they always do when someone stands up to their Brown Shirt tactics,retreated,babbling incoherently.

White House doormat: Obama tramples Constitution at every opportunity
When Barack Obama became president of the United States, he swore an oath to “preserve, protect and defend our Constitution.” Unfortunately, evidence has accumulated ever since that he feels no obligation to honor his commitment.

In fact, Mr. Obama has been violating that oath, left and, well, left. Here are a few of the most egregious examples:
Under the president’s health care legislation, now universally known as Obamacare, Americans are compelled to purchase health care. The constitutionality of this measure is being tested in court at this writing. But such a mandate smacks of big-government overreach that must be struck down by the Supreme Court.

One thing we can surmise from Jay’s concern is that no foreigner would be allowed to hold the office of Commander-in-Chief of the United States armed forces. The definition of who is a foreigner is fairly simply. According to the Merriam-Webster Dictionary a foreigner is “a person belonging to or owing allegiance to a foreign country.”
From the remarks of Panetta, the Obama administration has effectively placed the control of deploying the United States armed forces in the hands of foreign interests that are more often than not, hostile to the interests of the United States. We can only hope that the Obama administration will defend the United States if we are attacked by one of the Iranian nuclear warheads Obama failed to keep out of the Iranian’s hands.
While the Obama administration is reluctant to use the Armed Forces of the United States outside of finding an international rule of law letting him, he has no compunctions against using the Armed Forces of the United States against the people of the United States on United States soil in violation of both US Law and the US Constitution when he signed the National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2012 into laws.
Gunny G: Dr Ron Paul: Many of my colleagues who stood by as then-President Bush used the military as a kind of king’s army are now calling for Congress to act against this president for openly admitting that is his intent. I agree it is time for Congressional action in response to these attacks on our Constitution, but the solution is simple and Constitutional. The solution is simply voting to withhold funds, since Congress has the power of the purse. No money for undeclared wars!

When President Obama committed the US military to a pre-emptive war against Libya last year, for example, Congress was kept completely out of the process. In fact, we haven’t had a proper, constitutional declaration of war since 1942, yet the US military has been engaged in Korea, Lebanon, Iraq, Bosnia, Liberia, Haiti, and Libya with only UN resolutions as the authority. Congress’s only role has been authorizing funds, which it always does without question, because one must “support the troops”.
Of course we should reserve our harshest criticism for Congress rather than the Administration. If the people’s branch of government abrogates its Constitutional authority to the Executive branch, who is to blame? Who is to blame that Congress as a body will not stand up and demand that the president treat the Constitution as more than an anachronistic piece of paper, or merely a set of aspirations and guidelines? The Constitution is the law of the land and for Congress to allow it to be flouted speaks as badly about Congress as it does about a president who seeks to do the flouting.
Just last week the administration announced that it would begin providing material support to the rebels who seek to overthrow the Syrian government. Was Congress involved in this decision to take sides in what may develop into a full-fledged civil war? And what of reports that US special forces may already be operating inside Syria? Still, Congress sits silently as its authority is undermined. Does anybody really wonder why approval numbers for Congress are so low?

Have certain parts of the Constitution become irrelevant, as a former Republican leader once told me at a Foreign Affairs Committee hearing? At the time, I was told that demanding a Congressional declaration of war before invading Iraq, as Article I Section 8 of the Constitution requires, was unnecessary and anachronistic. Congress and the president then proceeded without a Constitutional declaration and the disastrous Iraq invasion was the result.
Last week, Obama administration officials made it clear that even the fig leaf of Congressional participation provided by the 2003 “authorization” to use force in Iraq was to be ignored as well.
In a hearing before the Senate Armed Services Committee, Defense Secretary Leon Panetta stated clearly and repeatedly that the administration felt it was legally justified to use military force against Syria solely with “international permission”. Such “international permission” could come by way of the United Nations, NATO, or some other international body. Secretary Panetta then told Senator Sessions that depending on the situation, the administration would consider informing Congress of its decision and might even seek authorization after the fact.

For hundreds of years Americans have been committing massacres of women and children, old men and sometimes even young men, mostly unarmed or armed only with primitive weapons. The early massacres were mostly of Indians who refused to leave their lands when Americans decided it was God’s will that they steal those lands for nothing or for a few trinkets.
In the Civil War Sherman and Grant routinely massacred Southern civilian populations with bombardments of cities, burning homes and Atlanta [though I do not know death figures], and so on.
The introduction of automatic weapons led quickly to far more massive U.S. massacres, obviously in the Philippines where freedom fighters were using primitive weapons to try to gain freedom from the U.S. Empire.
The U.S. gunned down tens of thousands of the Philippine sons of liberty and piled them in mass graves. In WWII the U.S. massacred vast numbers of Japanese soldiers trapped and starving on remote islands, bombed and burned all the cities of Germany and Japan [except Kyoto] and killed and maimed millions in a vast American Holocaust, capping it all off with the ghastly murder and maiming of hundreds of thousands of women and children in seconds by two nuclear weapons dropped to catch them going to school and in ways to maximize the deadly blast effects. The nuclear bombings were done against the pleas of Adm. Nimitz and most U.S. scientists who made the bombs. Nimitz said the Japanese were starving, surrounded and strangled by U.S. ships and would have to surrender soon to avoid starvation mass deaths. But Truman and his War Dept. and Pentagon brass wanted massacres to terrify the world into submission, especially the Soviets who had no such weapons.
