In this day and time our government structure can properly be seen as a bi-polar distribution of power, with the people at one extreme and the government at the other. In that context, politics is little more than the dynamic tension developed between these frequently competing interests.
Our founding fathers and the constitution they created were dedicated to a system of federal government limited to specific enumerated powers.
