Given the choices for President that the two major parties have given us over the last couple of decades (including this year), it is a truism that it really doesn’t matter much whether the Democrator the Republican nominee is elected. No, it really doesn’t.

In fact, in many respects, the cause of liberty suffers more under Republican administrations than under Democrat ones. For example, we lost far more liberties under G.W. Bush than we did under Bill Clinton. And as bad as Barack Obama is, John McCain would have been even worse! The same people that control one control the other. The difference is, at least when a Democrat is in the White House, conservatives and Christians actively mount rigorous resistance. However, when a neocon Republican is in the White House, conservatives and Christians say nary a word of protest.

She was one of us. Marine was a special word to her, she knew what it meant to all of us.
A few hours ago, I received an e-mail from her daughter, Faith, advising me that Karoline had passed last Thursday.
I know that this lady whom I have never personally met, is in the very best of hands now. Wherever Marines are guarding those streets of Heaven, Karoline is nearby.

Sightings of vehicles provokes fears of martial law

St Louis City residents have been warned to not be alarmed at the sight of U.S. Army tanks rolling down residential neighborhoods after sightings of the vehicles provoked fears of martial law.
The exercise is part of a U.S. Army program run by military police from Fort Meade, Maryland focused around training MPs from St. Louis how to drive heavily armored tanks “on highways and on city streets.”
Sightings of the tanks prompted hundreds of residents to flood news channel KSDK’s Facebook page, with some expressing fears that martial law had arrived with others promising to “stop and salute” the tanks as they rolled by.
Reporting that he was told by the Army not to disclose the location of where the exercise was operating out of for “security reasons,” KSDK reporter Casey Nolan downplayed the exercise as “not such a big deal.”

OG Hydrometer Reading of my Liberty Cream Ale
Good evening/afternoon. I brewed up a Liberty Cream Ale this afternoon, a kit from Midwest Supply. I did a Late Extract addition at 30 min. for this brew. It was a busy afternoon. I made a yeast starter using Safale 05 dry yeast yesterday afternoon. And pitched it in an 80° F wort.
The OG was at 1.052 out of the primary fermenter before the yeast starter was pitched. This beer has a beautiful color and should be a tasty brew in about 6 weeks. Ice it down, get it cold, just in time for the Dog Days of August. Now I will wait for the ferment to start.

It appears Snopes.com scrubbed their "report" on Obama's mom posing nude. When Snopes originally published their article they tagged the claim "undetermined" and then sometime later tagged it as "false" claiming the nude woman in the photos was Marcy Moore.

Today’s announcement that Hosni Mubarak is now gravely ill and apparently on his death-bed prompted me to remember the events of last year. I remember vividly turning on Fox News around 5:30am, clutching my cup of French vanilla/breakfast blend coffee.
I was greeted by an incredible scene– thousands of Egyptians in the streets, rioting/protesting. Four or five hours later, I also recall the White House held a briefing with Robert Gibbs (the then-Press Secretary). I honestly cannot remember which reporter asked him the question, but it went along these lines: Mr. Gibbs, can you tell us who or what group is behind these protest in Cairo? The response was simply, “No.” Next question, please.
Less than two hours later, our fearless leader himself appeared in the White House press room. From the podium, he informed the world that The United States of America supports the students in Cairo.
