RUSH: Okay. Look, let’s cut to the chase here, folks. The reason that I’m nervous with all this speculation that Chief Justice Roberts “caved” and who “got to him” and who intimated him is simple.

The reason I’m having trouble with this is that I don’t think that’s what happened. I believe I mentioned earlier this week (it might have been yesterday or the day before) that I had been warned years ago. I was in a conversation about justices on the court and how they respond to public pressure in the Washington Post Style Section.

Rep. Paul Broun, M.D. (R-GA) of the House Committee on Homeland Security, today sent a letter to Transportation Security Administration (TSA) Administrator John Pistole demanding his immediate resignation.
As he explains in his letter ( Rep Broun May 9, 2012 TSA Letter.pdf), the Georgia congressman had previously contacted Pistole regarding disturbing reports about the TSA in his home state:
“I last contacted you in November of 2011 in response to a news report featured on WSB-TV, Atlanta's local ABC affiliate, which detailed potentially lax security standards at Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport.”

Chuck Taliano was awaiting an honorable discharge at Marine Corps Recruit Depot Parris Island in 1968 when a reservist writing a book about boot camp snapped a picture of him giving a recruit an "attitude readjustment." That cemented Taliano's place in Corps legend.The photo captured his snarling mug inches from a fresh-faced recruit with the caption, "We don't promise you a rose garden." It was printed on thousands of Marine Corps recruiting posters printed during the 1970s and 1980s.

Bloggers have been banging away about claims that the ‘Obamacare’ bill contains explicit mandate for jabbing an RFID chip into everybody, starting earlier this week.
I googled the topic to see how much fizz is out there and noted about 150 comments on a blog that insisted the story is real. Most of the comments were in denial that such a draconian measure would be in the ‘progressive’ legislation.

It also is a reminder that the Supreme Court is a political entity and a human one. Only the Justices who dissented from the majority decision on Obamacare were willing to take the heat. The majority ruled that the individual mandate under the commerce clause was unconstitutional, but gave Obamacare life as a tax.
