Who Is The Butter-Cutter?
In those bygone years of my active Marine Corps service, the Butter-Cutter occupied the last position on the Chow Line in the Mess Hall. His official duty was to dole out two pats of butter from a bowl of ice water he maintained to each hungry Marine who passed by. Since cutting free the pats from a large block of butter frequently took a few extra seconds, Marines tended to congregate and "shoot the breeze" at his station.

KLEIN: Larry, just before we went on the air tonight, I checked with my sources in the Clinton camp and I took notes because I want to be careful. And here is what they told me: Up until just a couple of weeks ago, the White House was putting out feelers to see if Hillary would accept the vice-presidential nod and replace Joe Biden. Bill Clintonwas, I’m told, urging his wife to accept the number-two slot. He saw this as a great launching pad for her for running in 2016.

But, then, Hillary had lunch in the White House a couple of weeks ago with Valerie Jarrett, Michelle’s best friend, senior adviser to both the first lady and the president. And she told Valerie Jarrett that she would not accept the vice-president spot. The lunch was ostensibly about other matters, but it came up. The vice-presidential thing came up. Hillary felt burned out after four years as secretary of state. But I’m told there were more important reasons for her not accepting.

I was riding around in the car, listening to XM Radio and had FOX News with Megan Kelly‘s show on. She was interviewing some guy and said (paraphrase) she’s hearing from people in the know who are discussing this behind closed doors that Obama will be re-elected for sure and gee, how would four more years of Obama affect the crapola you and I are talking about? What are we to think about this statement by Ms. Kelly? Complete rubbish?

To recap, government is driving up the cost of food, animal feed and gasoline, and Obama’s solution is to drive up meat prices as well. Obama could eliminate the entire problem overnight and reduce carbon emissions were he to waive the ethanol mandate in a time of drought. Instead, he is creating a new spending program to mollify livestock producers, who, were it not for the ethanol mandate, would be able to make an honest living without his help.

When you think of scientists working for the U.S. Geological Survey, you might picture them studying things like seismology graphs but that’s not all the department does. A recent video posted by USGS shows a team wrestling to control a giant python.
The snake in the video, according to the University of Florida’s press release issued Monday, set not only a state record for its size of 17 feet 7 inches but also the 87 eggs it had. According to the university’s website, the dead animal
