IS OBAMA A PSEUDO-LINCOLN FOMENTING A CIVIL WAR? « THE MILLSTONE DIARIES

After witnessing the effrontery of Barack Obama against the states and our constitution, it is apparent this man has come here for the sole purpose of fomenting a civil war. From day one of his campaign he has made efforts to position himself as a pseudo-Lincoln.

From his campaign announcement in front of the Illinois state capitol where Lincoln served (with a Lincoln banner behind him), to his announcement of…

The problem is that this man, if anything, is the Anti-Lincoln. Lincoln dogged Senator Douglas all over the state of Illinois, challenging Douglas to debate the KEY ISSUE upon which his REPUBLICAN Party was literally founded. That issue was the central question of whether a human being can rightfully be the PROPERTY of another human being. The central belief to the contrary is rooted in the same moral absolute that our Declaration of Independence invokes, which is that life and our inalienable rights are granted by God and no human tribunal has the right to encroach upon that of another. The same pillar that demanded the abolition of slavery is central to the Republican Party’s platform on abortion. Claiming the authority to abrogate this right for one group of human beings over another is to blasphemously make oneself out to be that one and only God Himself.

“This whole war on terror is a fraud. It’s a farce. It’s very difficult to say it out loud because people are intimidated against saying it, cause if you say it they want to make you into a nutcase. “Something is manifestly unfair about the practice of scapegoating, and some might feel that scapegoating itself qualifies as a moral vice. But the point of the present discussion is that the practice of scapegoating is built upon recognizing the symbolic value of an act of vice. Gas spike hits drivers (Obama’s fault)

September 12, 2012 1 comment

As the summer driving season comes to an end, motorists who were hoping gas prices would fall are instead getting hit with a big jump, especially in the Northeast.

The average price of a gallon of regular gas increased 1.5 cents nationally for the second straight day, taking it to $3.86 in AAA’s latest reading Wednesday. The back-to-back price moves follow what had been a lull in gas price activity after an August run-up in prices caused by Gulf Coast refinery disruptions as Hurricane Isaacapproached.

Prices had been expected to retreat quickly once the Gulf region‘s facilities came back online. But Tom Kloza, chief analyst at the Oil Price Information Service, said the retreat in prices following the storm is being delayed because Isaac hit so close to Sept. 15.

BEGIN TRANSCRIPTRUSH: Obama’s first instinct was to sympathize with the attackers. And when I say Obama, I’m talking about the embassy, Embassy Cairo. You can’t separate Barack Obama from any of our embassies. He staffs them. They have like-minded thinkers in there. Barack Obama’s in charge of the Foreign Service, he and Hillary Clinton.

Their first instinct was to sympathize with the attackers with that statement. Romney was dead right pointing that out. First instinct, sympathize with the attackers. Where does that come from? It comes from, just like Dinesh D’Souza says, it comes from the idea that Obama thinks this country has been too big for its britches for too long and it’s time this country finds out what it has been like to be victimized by this country in the rest of the world. It’s time this country finds out what it’s like to be Egypt and have a big, bad United States breathing down your neck.

That’s what Obama is. That’s where he’s coming from. It’s true foreign policy; it’s true economically. Barack Obama doesn’t think this country should be number one. If it were number 35 it’d be fine with him. We haven’t deserved to be number one.

he Republican primaries of 1964 featured liberal Nelson Rockefeller of New York and conservative Barry Goldwater of Arizona as the two leading candidates. Shortly before the California primary, Rockefeller's wife, whom he had just married the previous year soon after divorcing his previous wife, gave birth; this drew renewed attention to his family life which hurt his popularity among conservatives and led to Goldwater winning the primary.[citation needed] An anti-Goldwater organization called for the nomination of Governor William Scranton of Pennsylvania, but the effort failed. Although former President Dwight Eisenhower only reluctantly supported Goldwater after he won the nomination, former President Herbert Hoover gave him enthusiastic endorsement. By the end of the primaries, Goldwater’s nomination was all secure. Senator Margaret Chase Smith's name was entered for nomination at the Convention, the first time a woman's name was entered for nomination at a major party convention. It was the only Republican convention between 1948 and 2008 that failed to feature Nixon, Dole or a Bush on the ticket.

…..At first, Reagan insisted that he wouldn’t cave in to the terrorist threat. Then he realized the best policy was to pull out the troops. Here’s how he explained it in his autobiography:

Perhaps we didn’t appreciate fully enough the depth of the hatred and the complexity of the problems that made the Middle East such a jungle. Perhaps the idea of a suicide car bomber committing mass murder to gain instant entry to Paradise was so foreign to our own values and consciousness that it did not create in us the concern for the marines’ safety that it should have.

In the weeks immediately after the bombing, I believed the last thing that we should do was turn tail and leave. Yet the irrationality of Middle Eastern politics forced us to rethink our policy there. If there would be some rethinking of policy before our men die, we would be a lot better off. If that policy had changed towards more of a neutral position and neutrality, those 241 marines would be alive today.

Obama and those who control much of America’s academia, mass media, and entertainment industry—plus a number of trade unions and hundreds of foundations, think tanks, and front groups—are believers in a new, very American form of leftism. It is very statist, very dangerous for freedom, and economically destructive. But we first have to identify what “it” is. Our difficulty in doing so has been a huge reason why we have not persuaded more people–though goodness knows a lot of people have woken up that there is a huge problem here.

It is perhaps very telling that while $18 million in tax dollars was granted to each party for these lavish ordeals, an additional $50 million each was needed for security in anticipation of the inevitable protests at each event. This amounts to a total of $136 million in taxpayer funds for strictly partisan activities – a drop in the bucket relative to our disastrous fiscal situation, but disgraceful nonetheless. When a government disregards the constitution meant to limit its power and uses its military against not only foreign powers who have neither attacked nor threatened attack but also against its own citizens, patriots should refuse service in that military and protest its abuse. The Founders warned against a standing army. They feared its use against citizens, and events such as Ruby Ridge and Waco justify that fear. Congress passed the Posse Comitatus Act in 1878, in part, to prevent such events. Yet, our current president (and many of his predecessors) view such legislation as a low hurdle between themselves and total power.

Ardent partisans who somehow missed their calling as spokespersons for liberal politicians and ended up as film reviewers instead, are wont to find any film that doesn’t tow the liberal line to be lacking in content, intellectual capacity or definitive reasoning. Of course we can all agree on our right to disagree with one another, but where it goes off the mark is when one side tries to defend its positions by issuing ridiculous statements, misstating facts, engaging in name calling and branding the messengers as liars and prevaricators. And when they really get their shorts all bound up in a tight wad and are obviously losing the information battle, they resort to calling the filmmakers racists and bigots and even crossing the line of rhetorical decency by likening the work to that of the Nazis.

America lost its mind 146 years ago and hasn’t been the same since. Or rather, it’s been a different country ever since.

A psychotic, self-referential, duplicitous country – largely ignorant of its own history and convinced of its messianic role in word affairs. A country not merely content to live – and let live. But one determined to to force others – everyone – to live its way.

No, the Southern states simply wished to exercise that right which the American colonists themselves had exercised in 1776 (and which some Northern states had themselves threatened to exercise on prior occasions, for similar reasons). The right to withdraw from the voluntary union entered into by each sovereign state at the time of the ratification of the federal Constitution. The motives were no different – and no less honorable or legitimate: The Southern states, like the American colonies, had come to regard the central authority as distant, unrepresentative and increasingly tyrannical. It no longer served their interests. It no longer represented them. And to paraphrase the author of the original Declaration of Independence, when a government no longer operates in the best interests of the people as they see those interests; when it no longer represents them; and when its actions evince a systematic effort to subjugate them, when other remedies have not proved fruitful, it is the right of the people to alter or abolish the government – and start over.

But as it turned out, millions of Americans were not ready to defend freedom. Despite the "United We Stand" posters plastered everywhere, Americans almost immediately divided into two irreconcilable camps: those willing to understand the nature of our enemy and those who wanted to deny it, at all cost. Within days of the attacks, a friend coolly informed me, "the people in the Twin Towers deserved it." Still reeling from that shock, I almost lost it when another friend admiringly compared bin Laden to George Washington. Soon thereafter, a well-known academic in my circle complained that the sudden outpouring of patriotism made her sick. This utter madness, which I thought would be confined to the fringe, rapidly spread to every corner of elite society. The more we learned about the savagery of the Islamist world, the more our moral and cultural superiors turned their wrath on us, instead of the enemy. As headlines blared the almost surrealistic brutality of Al Qaeda, Senator Patty Murray told a group of high school honor students that Osama bin Laden was Read more: http://www.americanthinker.com/2011/09/obama_and_our_911_trauma.html#ixzz26G77ZQuE

The Obama administration has begun approving young illegal immigrants’ requests to stay in the country under President Barack Obama’s deferred action program, the Department of Homeland Security said Tuesday.

Three months after Obama announced the program and one month after the department began taking applications, more than 72,000 people have made requests for two years of deferred action — which can be renewed — and a work permit. The department wouldn’t say how many requests have been approved thus far, just that the process of examining the applications has begun.

'The Battle Hymn of the Republic'
What It Really Means

By Michael Dan Jones

One of the most enduring traditional American hymns and patriotic songs is Julia Ward Howe's "The Battle Hymn of the Republic." It is a staple with many Christian church choirs and hardly a patriotic holiday passes without this song being sung and played at ceremonies nationwide. But is "The Battle Hymn of the Republic" truly appropriate for religious hymnals and patriotic ceremonies?

One of the most enduring traditional American hymns and patriotic songs is Julia Ward Howe’s “The Battle Hymn of the Republic.” It is a staple with many Christian church choirs and hardly a patriotic holiday passes without this song being sung and played at ceremonies nationwide. But is “The Battle Hymn of the Republic” truly appropriate for religious hymnals and patriotic ceremonies? Who was the author? What motivated and inspired her? What message was she trying to convey? What do the words mean? What meaning do they have for us today? The author, Julia Ward Howe, was born in 1819 in New York City. She married a prominent physician, Dr. Samuel Howe Gridley (1801-1876) in 1843 and they lived in Boston, Mass. Where they raised five children. She was a much celebrated author, a tireless supporter of the anti-slavery movement, preached in Unitarian churches, and was a zealous worker for the advancement of women, prison reform, world peace and other humanitarian movements. She died 17 October 1910, at her summer home in Oak Glen, Rhode Island.

.....Daily Bell: What's your take on Ron Paul? Give us a summation of his career.

Judge Napolitano: I think he probably continues to go around the country, keeping the dialogue going of small government and maximum individual liberty. I think he probably passes the mantel to his son, Senator Paul. Senator Paul and Governor Johnson probably battle it out and if they can't come to some kind of agreement as to who will personify human freedom and who, in public life, will be the champion of it.

Judge Napolitano: Well, I think that the problems with the Constitution began in the Lincoln administration, when he drilled people for doing what the founding fathers did, which was seceding from an overbearing central government. In the so-called Reconstruction years, which really were the years of military occupation in the South – Reconstruction is just a euphemism for that – the military directed daily life in the South for 10 years. That really whetted the federal government’s appetite for more power. Now we see a recession in that power for the next 30 years and then it comes back in the Progressive Era, and the progressives are so all-encompassing that they sit even on the courts. And the courts let Teddy Roosevelt and Woodrow Wilson get away with things like, ‘we are not going to let the Constitution stand in our way’ for what the people need. That’s utterly inconsistent with their oath to office. Of course, the real serious troubles with the Constitution are with the FDR years. FDR

The Republican leaders think that their deal with Obama to cut $100 Billion from the current budget is a big deal. It is less than 3% of the current budget and less than 7% of the deficit. The Republican leadership failed and the new Tea Party Republicans are angry about it…Obama has failed continually for the last two years. His administration is dysfunctional. His policies have divided America rather than unite America. His czars are unconstitutional.

I try not to watch the MSM very often, but today I tuned into Glenn Beck for his “Founders Friday” program. Sadly, it turned out to be nothing more than a pitch to the multiculturalists where he praised the efforts of black Americans throughout history, particularly in the War for Independence. Beck and his guest David Barton were groveling at the feet of those who demand that history should be studied from month to month, each month honoring some…

I certainly wasn’t surprised by any of this, but what really got under my skin was the fact that Beck and Barton both made time in this program to bash the South replete with very glaring historical inaccuracies. Beck prides himself on “rediscovering” historical narratives which differ greatly from the Establishment’s verion, yet today he revealed himself to be thoroughly hypocritical and inconsistent. I was never a huge fan of Beck before all of this, but he now has zero integrity as far as I’m concerned.
