We really aren’t free in Americaanymore. We just think we are. Government has injected itself into every area of our lives.

Government is supposed to be a verb…self-government…but we have turned it into a noun…THE GOVERNMENT. Government “of the people, by the people, and for the people” was designed to be a process whereby folks were empowered to control themselves.

 

 

It was never meant to be a top-down tyrant playing the role of a parent to a free people.

 

True freedom comes from the individual’s restraint on the heart. Self-government is the only means of true liberty. As Founding Father Robert Winthrop wrote:

 

All societies of men must be governed in some way or other. The less they may have of stringent State Government, the more they must have of individual self-government. The less they rely on public law or physical force, the more they must rely on private moral restraint. Men, in a word, must necessarily be controlled, either by a power within them, or by a power without them; either by the Word of God, or by the strong arm of man; either by the Bible, or by the bayonet.

 

All laws are nothing more than man’s efforts to control the heart of men. When our government-schools removed the Bible from the education of our children they removed the only possible means whereby our nation would teach inward restraints on the heart of the individual. Reject the Bible, sharpen the bayonet. It is the natural progression of licentiousness on steroids.

 

Americans have been “endowed by our Creator with certain inalienable rights”…interesting isn’t it…there are no “inalienable wrongs.” The precepts of the Bible grant us the ability to do right…not the right to do wrong.

 

Read that paragraph again. It is more profound than you understand. Only a nation that has a firm understanding of right and wrong, good and evil can survive.

 

The Bible or the Bayonet. Time is running out on America.

 

I love words…the English language. I am always fascinated by our inability to understand the meanings of words. In 2009 I wrote Change the Words, Change the World. I suggest you read it. It explains why we are in such trouble.

 

Ignorant is one of those words that we no longer use in context. If you look it up in the dictionary you will find the common usage of the word to be lacking in knowledge or training; unlearned.

 

But the root word of ignorant is ignore…refrain from noticing or recognizing…showing that to be “ignorant” means to refrain from recognizing knowledge…or rejecting knowledge.

 

Ignorance is not just………..
