“US Democrat-controlled Congress intends to destroy the Republican middle class with $11 per gallon gasoline”

July 4, 2008
Oil at $300

Posted 07/04/2008 ET
You would think that this story is right out of science fiction.  But the facts appear to be that the US Democrat-controlled Congress intends to destroy the Republican middle class with $11 per gallon gasoline.

The Democrats’ base — wealthy white “limousine liberals”, and very poor people — won’t be harmed, but the families who live in suburbia will be devastated.

The multi-millionaires like billionaire Senators John Kerry & Jay Rockefeller, financial speculator George Soros, filmmaker Michael Moore, and actors George Clooney & Meg Ryan can easily pay for their auto and private jet fuel.  Poor people are forced to take public transit.

Here’s the reasoning behind the move.

The so-called “Global Oil Crisis” is an invention of the US liberal ruling class, which has successfully managed to export their disastrous ideas worldwide.  Oil supply and demand has been on knife-edge balance for years.  With the growth of the newly well off Chinese and Indian car-consuming populations, oil consumption has been rapidly increasing in the developing world even as it has been dropping in the US.  No wonder India and China, with nearly half the world’s population, refused to sign on to the Kyoto “global warming” treaty.

Friends,

I have just come across copies of a book I bought years ago, and carefully set aside, and just rediscovered them in a box.
They are by a Marine named Guy Gabaldon, now deceased, I believe. He who talked in “over a thousand Japanese - while on Saipan.”
They are new, the few I have, and in paper with photos, in 245p. If interested in a copy, notify me and send $10.00 for a postpaid copy.

He Was A Carrier Pilot On The Saratoga

Fallon was a young US Naval Officer serving aboard the US Aircraft Carrier Saratoga in June, 1967, when Israel launched a surprise war against its Arab neighbors. He saw the valiant F-4 Phantom pilots rocket off the Saratoga to save the crew of the USS Liberty, only to return 15 minutes later. Heroic pilots getting out of their jets, smashed their helmets on the deck, and called Admiral McCain a treacherous bastard. 2

Diagnosing the Disease

HOUSTON, June 29 When it comes to explaining our deteriorating national and international condition, hand it to Dr. Ron Paul, the libertarian Republican who represents several refinery towns just south of Houston, Texas.
He proved his skill Thursday with his address to the House of Representatives, five minutes of straight talk from a wise physician concerned about politics and geopolitics:

  • The economy is sluggish because it has gorged on inflated Iraq war money.
  • The petroleum market is feverish because of Iran war speculation.
  • The Iran war is likely because of the inaction of a craven Congress.

This was a perfect example of Ron Paul the revolutionary, who is willing to tell the truth1 about our modern-day King George.
This latest speech reminds me of a two-minute speech, which Paul delivered on January 11, 2007, at the beginning of the 110th Congress. In it Paul warned 2 that the Bush administration might stage an attack against the US, then blame it on Iran.
Recent events bear out Paul’s worries:

SHOCKING REVELATION: U.S. POWS STILL IN LAOS

AFP & others have said it for years; now proof emerges U.S. soldiers still held in Southeast Asian camps

rss202

By Christopher J. Petherick

There is new evidence that American GIs are being held against their will in Southeast Asia more than three decades after the Vietnam War officially ended. A letter recently received by the father of a U.S. pilot, who went missing in action in 1971, could provide a key piece of information that proves American prisoners of war are alive and imprisoned in remote areas of South Vietnam.

Olbermann-O’Reilly feud spreads
variety.com ^ | 6/27/08 | By BRIAN LOWRY

Posted on Saturday, June 28, 2008 11:32:12 PM by paltz

After recapping the five-year-old Keith Olbermann-Bill O’Reilly feud that has spilled over to other assets of their respective employers GE and News Corp., the gossip site Gawker cheerily noted: “The real winners, as always: us!”

Indeed, anyone with a taste for mud wrestling or a pissing match has to enjoy the back-and-forth that has sprung from MSNBC host Olbermann’s fateful decision to “punch up” at O’Reilly, Fox News’ top-rated personality and his time-period rival. As for whether viewers or something so quaint as journalistic standards are “winning” in the eye-poking Three Stooges act that has ensued — maybe not so much.

The convoluted affair has begun to resemble “Weapons of Mass Distraction,” an HBO satire written by Larry Gelbart, in which two dueling media moguls bring their various holdings to bear in an escalating war to ruin each other. Yet what passed for satirical farce in 1997 seems almost restrained by comparison now.

For those who have somehow ignored this food fight, Olbermann started it by regularly jabbing at O’Reilly and naming him the “Worst Person in the World,” a nightly segment on his MSNBC talker.

Thin-skinned in his best days, O’Reilly has grown especially sensitive to criticism (or as he’s prone to call it, “vicious personal attacks,” emanating from “vile left-wing smear sites”) since the embarrassment of having a sexual-harassment suit filed against him in 2004. That irritation has rather transparently led him to retaliate against NBC higher-ups, including NBC News and even parent General Electric, going so far as to have a producer ambush GE CEO Jeffrey Immelt, stretching to accuse him of shady dealings with Iran and, this week, of personally despoiling the Hudson River.

Gunny G: Now Grok This!

Gunny G: Now Grok This!

Grok? What the hell is grok?
In today’s vernacular, grok means simply and basically, to understand or “get it” — do you get it now?

Do you get it? was a slang term of the pre-WWII movies, etc. Now in 2008 it has again become a popular buzzword with the younger crowd and also those older dinosaurs who remember it from earlier times. Getting it was again resurrected during the 1970s with the est seminars (see below), though not in exactly the same way as previously.

So we all know, or think we know, the meaning of getting it, but grok means a bit more than what we usually think of as just getting it, so for a more thorough meaning of grok one must refer to Stranger In A Strange Land….

The Bush/McCain gas price escalation is an Enron rerun. It is Chapter 2 of the scam Bush crony “Kenny Boy” Lay used in 1999-2001 to steal $100 billion from California ratepayers.

Now this administration is replicating that crisis to funnel untold billions into the coffers of its oil baron backers . . . and to push the failed strategies of offshore drilling and nuke power.

Even the most ardent of Barack Obama’s supporters generally will confess to a small, nagging (dare I say niggling?) doubt about the object of their ardor.

Similarly, even Obama’s most vocal opposition stops and stares just a bit overlong when they see him speaking.

What an odd situation.

Obama Nation or Abomination?

I recall the JFK era and, while Obama is no JFK - not by a far stretch, I might add - some similarities do exist, similarities that have more to do with grace and appearance than with character and substance.  Put your prejudices aside and admit it:  Not only is Barack Obama rather handsome, he moves and speaks with a natural grace unseen on the national stage in quite some time.

Pay just a little attention, however, and it becomes clear that Obama never really says anything.  That is no mistake and it is not because he has nothing to say, either.  He knows exactly what he is doing, rest assured.  Obama puts the smoke with the mirrors of Jerry Brown’s classic observation about politics:  “A little vagueness goes a long way in this business.”

PROUD PAGAN WITCH BACKS OBAMA’S POVERTY BILL

While Senator Barack Obama struggles to keep the public in the dark about the nature of his pro-U.N. Global Poverty Act, a recent “Bay Area Interfaith Leaders’ Luncheon” was held to lobby for Senate passage of the bill, whose cost has been estimated at $845 billion. An actual witch who spoke at a “Pagan Pride” festival in San Francisco was one of the listed participants.

The witch, known as the “Elder Donald Frew” of the “Wiccan Community,” was interviewed by the Reverend Don Lewis of “Witch School International” for a “reality” show called “Magick TV” and is shown talking about his involvement in the United Nations-backed United Religions Initiative. Does Michelle Obama remind you more of Teresa Heinz Kerry or former First Lady Hillary Clinton? Read on and decide for yourself.

As we recall, First Lady wannabe Teresa had a habit of shooting first and aiming second. Remember when she wondered out loud whether Laura Bush “ever had a real job”? And the time she cut off a reporter’s questions with the rebuke, “Now shove it.”?

Likewise, Mrs. O has a penchant for freely speaking her mind on almost any topic.

Speaking to CBS reporter Steve Kroft, Michelle commented, “As a Black man, Barack can be shot just going to a gas station.” (Note to would-be gunslingers: Next time you see a white woman at the gas station, try to hold your fire.)

EXTREME ENVIRONMENTALISM IS DESTROYING EVERYTHING IN ITS PATH

June 27, 2008

By Dr. Laurie Roth
June 27, 2008

NewsWithViews.com

There is a Religion that has been growing in stature over the last decade. Now it is becoming one of the most powerful, well funded and organized Religions ever. It is the Religion of “environmentalism” and worship of animals and nature. In this Religion people are in the way and way down the totem pole of worth next to animals and nature. The organizations and people behind this have unlimited amounts of money, both foreign and domestic. Their goal is to control land, people and the world, having ultimate, global power and money. If you look at The Earth Charter you get the idea. They use all sorts of manipulative language hoping you don’t notice it is the worship of animals and nature with you and I being the unpardonable sin. We are the endless cause of carbon emissions and problems.

If you think I’ve waxed a little insane and conspiratorial, why are we seeing the environmentalists cramming bills and laws into place at the state and federal level, trying to seize millions of acres of property all across this country? You may not have followed or tracked just how many areas across the U.S. are being studied to turn into national parks and wetland areas. Right now there is a study group looking at turning the entire Mississippi river into a national park. Translation, that would mean seizing, hundreds of thousands of acres all around the river that would have to be morphed into wet land areas. Goodbye farm lands and major food sources for America. Now the farmers, land and business owners would be controlled, regulated and go through permit hell before they could do things with their property, water crops and act like normal farmers.

I interviewed Chuck Cushman, director of Landrights.org last night and asked him how the environmentalists position and manipulate their land grabs. He said they first circle a big chunk of land, like the Y to Y corridor (Yukon To Yellowstone Land Grab) use the excuses in congress of “clean water” “preserving national treasures and wetlands” nature and certain animals. Once the take over happens, farms and businesses within the mapped area notice the new regulations and permit process that is unfolded to do any normal thing with the land. Roads here and there begin to be closed because they are compromising to animal life or plant life. At this stage you see businesses and farms starting to perish due to traffic diminishing and regulations and permits overwhelming the people. Hark, the good news is that the Bruno snail and trees are happy.

Allow me to share with you a few of the many land grabs that have been or are in the works now. S 2739 Omnibus Parks Bill, Rim of the Valley, HR 2421 Clean Water Act (Wetlands), S 1870 Senate Wetlands, HR 3287, HR 2593 Grijalva Border Wilderness, Bureau of Reclamation (BOR) Yukon To Yellowstone Land Grab, Bouquot Canyon Fire Threat. In addition, there is a current study group looking at turning in the entire Mississippi river into a national park.

These land grab attempts are unconstitutional and don’t reflect the original purpose in our constitution for using eminent domain for a city to finish a highway or stop blight in an area. As you may recall in the Kelo v.s. New London decision in the Supreme Court, they ruled that even a major corporation can trump the rights of the small business and homeowners. The City and big corporation won because the city would make more money and tax revenue with the big corporation developing the area. Since then many states have limited the use of eminent domain.

NOT TO OFFEND LESBIANS AND SINGLE MOTHERS, FATHER’S DAY BANNED IN SCOTTISH SCHOOLS

June 27, 2008

Following the recent law in Britain prohibiting the use of the words mom (’mum’) and dad in public schools, the politically-correct forces in Europe once again succeeded — this time having fathers removed from their children’s classrooms.

According to reports coming out of Edinburgh, Scotland, children in public schools are prohibited from making Father’s Day cards and related gifts as was customary in the past.

The rationale given by school administrators for their action is their wish to avoid embarrassing school children who live with single mothers or lesbian partners. According to conservative political strategist Michael Baker, who for years predicted such political-correctness, this new school policy was secretly adopted by the public school system without the input of students’ parents.

Gunny G: So, What The Hell Is HAARP?

June 27, 2008

What is HAARP? - three short articles

HAARP FACT SHEET

“HAARP”, an acronym for “High Frequency Active Auroral Research Program”, is a project having the goal of studying fundamental physical principles which govern the region of the earth’s atmosphere known as the ionosphere. It is through this region that earth-based communications and radar transmissions must travel to reach satellites or to probe solar and planetary bodies; and conversely, for radio signals from outside the immediate environment of the earth to reach its surface. It also is from these ionized layers that radio waves reflect to achieve over-the-horizon communication and radar systems. The proposed research will be undertaken using high power radio transmitters to probe the overhead ionosphere, combined with a complement of modern scientific diagnostic instruments to investigate the results of the interactions.

The Second World War in Italy: was it worth it?

The Second World War in Italy: was it worth it?

The folly and brutality of war, from Sicily to the Po Valley

During the Italian campaign in the Second World War the Allied forces lost over 300,000 men, the Germans perhaps half a million. Probably over a million Italians were killed or wounded, to say nothing of the destruction inflicted on virtually every town and village between Sicily and the Po Valley.

No battlefield could have been worse chosen. For nearly two years the Allied armies had to fight for mountain after mountain, hill after hill, in a theatre that might have been specifically designed for defensive war. The decision to invade the Italian mainland was taken at only six weeks’ notice, and had to be carried out by armies neither equipped nor trained for the mountain warfare that lay ahead of them. Likewise, the decision to defend the peninsula was made only after the campaign had begun, when the German commander on the spot, Albert Kesselring, persuaded Hitler to abandon the original intention to pull back to the Apennines and allow him to defend the mountains south of Rome. The result was two years of fighting in a theatre at best secondary, and one in which the Allies always found themselves at a disadvantage. Was it worth it?

Who’s Planning Our Next War? by Patrick J. Buchanan

DIGG THIS

Of the Axis-of-Evil nations named in his State of the Union in 2002, President Bush has often said, “The United States will not permit the world’s most dangerous regimes to threaten us with the world’s most destructive weapons.”

He failed with North Korea. Will he accept failure in Iran, though there is no hard evidence Iran has an active nuclear weapons program?

William Kristol of The Weekly Standard said Sunday a U.S. attack on Iran after the election is more likely should Barack Obama win. Presumably, Bush would trust John McCain to keep Iran nuclear free.

Yet, to start a third war in the Middle East against a nation three times as large as Iraq, and leave it to a new president to fight, would be a daylight hijacking of the congressional war power and a criminally irresponsible act. For Congress alone has the power to authorize war.

Yet Israel is even today pushing Bush into a pre-emptive war with a naked threat to attack Iran itself should Bush refuse the cup.

‘Ma Deuce’ Days May be Numbered
Norman Polmar | June 17, 2008

Probably the longest serving weapon in the U.S. military arsenal is the Browning .50-caliber M2 machine gun. Often referred to as “ma deuce” for its M2 designation, the weapon entered U.S. service at the end of World War I, being scaled up from the Browning .30-caliber M1917 machine gun. The .50-caliber weapon was initially designated M1921.

Using a round designed by Winchester, the .50-caliber machine gun was originally intended for ground troops to use against enemy troops. Subsequently, it was employed as an anti-aircraft weapon and then became the standard armament of U.S. warplanes. In 1932, the design was updated and redesignated M2.

What Your Government Knows About Cannabis And Cancer — And Isn’t Telling You

Senator Ted Kennedy is putting forward a brave face following his recent surgery but the sad reality remains. Even with successful surgery, radiation, and chemotherapy treatment, gliomas — a highly aggressive form of brain cancer that strikes approximately 10,000 Americans annually — tragically claim the lives of 75 percent of its victims within two years and virtually all within five years.

But what if there was an alternative treatment for gliomas that could selectively target the cancer while leaving healthy cells intact? And what if federal bureaucrats were aware of this treatment, but deliberately withheld this information from the public?

Sadly, the questions posed above are not entirely hypothetical. Let me explain.

Judicial murder and government dirty linen–Part One
by Al Benson, Jr.

After the assassination of Abraham Lincoln, eight people were put on trial and found guilty–four sentenced to long prison terms and the other four sentenced to hang. One of those sentenced to hang was Mary Eugenia Jenkins Surratt, the first woman ever to be hung by the United States. John Wilkes Booth had supposedly been shot and John Surratt had escaped to Canada, eventually to make it all the way to Europe. These eight were seemingly all that were left and the government wanted to make sure they talked as little as possible to anyone.

If they can get you asking the wrong questions, they don’t have to worry about answers.
~ Thomas Pynchon

As I write these words, we are into the third day of a seemingly endless period of mourning for Tim Russert. While he seemed to be a likable fellow – in a conventional sort of way – and I can sympathize with his family, friends, and colleagues over his loss, there is something telling about the state of journalism in this country in the way his death is being transformed into a national tragedy. Here in Hollywood, the demise of even the most prominent of the prominent stars does not merit the media’s nonstop observance such as we are witnessing not only from Mr. Russert’s network, but from others as well.

This endless electronic eulogy brings to mind the classic observation of Marshall McLuhan: “the medium is the message.” A centrally-directed, vertically-structured society requires a uniformity of thought in order to maintain a collective commitment. This requires a continuing indoctrination in the values and purposes of the ruling establishment. Government schools exist for the primary purpose of conditioning young minds in such a viewpoint, a function acknowledged by the Los Angeles County government when it declared that children need to be taught “that we are all part of one big social system” and “must learn to participate effectively in the system.” H.L. Mencken was more to the point, as usual, when he wrote that the purpose of schools is:

to manufacture an endless corps of sound Americans. A sound American is simply one who has put out of his mind all doubts and questionings, and who accepts instantly, and as incontrovertible gospel, the whole body of official doctrine of his day, whatever it may be and no matter how often it may change.
