Every Television Newscast Is a Staged Event… “What happens when the government has overwhelming force and citizens have no guns?” by Jon Rappoport… (GyG: The Govt Controlled Media!)
Focus on the network evening news. This is where the staging is done well.
First, we have the image itself, the colors in foreground and background, the blend of restful and charged hues. The anchor and his/her smooth style.
Then we have the shifting of venue from the studio to reporters in the field, demonstrating the reach of coverage: the planet. As if this equals authenticity.
The managing editor, usually the elite anchor, chooses the stories to cover and their sequence.
The anchor goes on the air: “Our top story tonight, more signs of gridlock today on Capitol Hill, as legislators walked out of a session on federal budget negotiations…”

Well, isn’t this just peachy. This is actually the first time I’ve heard anything about it, but apparently, the public servants of the United States Senate have been enjoying taxpayer-subsidized trims and shaves on Capitol Hill since before the Civil War — an oh-so-beloved tradition that, in merely the past fifteen years, has cost taxpayers over five million dollars. Senate Hair Care Services is technically open to the public, for those who know/care about it, but last year alone the salon needed a $300,000 bailout from the Senate coffers to cover their jacked-up costs.

Pelosi: ‘Tax Cuts Are Spending’ March 7, 2013 By Terence P. Jeffrey
(CNSNews.com) – House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D.-Calif.) said today that the government must cut spending, and then explained that: “Tax cuts are spending.”
“Our whole budget is what $3.5 trillion,” Pelosi said at a Capitol Hill press conference. “So, when we talk about reducing spending, we certainly must, and we certainly have–$1.6 trillion in the previous Congress, $1.2 of it in the Budget Control Act.

On a dark day in our nation’s history -September 28, 1868- a mob of crazed, racist Democrats slaughtered 300+ African-American Republicans at Opelousas, Louisiana…
The gruesome series of events was started when a group of Democrats attacked a newspaper editor, a white Republican and school-teacher of ex-slaves.
When some African-Americans rushed to the assistance of a friend under attack, the Democrats doubled-down and went on a ‘Negro hunt’… ethnically-cleansing the town and environs of ever single black man, woman, and child they were able to track-down.

Despite its own insistence that it is very much alive, the Republican Party has now joined the crowd invisible.
The sad pathetic truth of its demise is that those who once believed in it, and cared deeply for it, are no longer around to bury it with dignity. Its corpse has now become the dancing play thing of Washington D.C. consulting firms and lobbyist.
Was David Petraeus Blackmailed By His Own Government?
Petraeus Scandal: An affair that was known to the FBI for months and kept from congressional oversight committees might explain his complicity in a false narrative of the Benghazi terrorist attack and the order to “stand down.”
The addition of sex to Benghazigate adds a dimension sure to keep the scandal going and one that does indeed make Watergate seem like a third-rate burglary. The affair admitted to by Gen. David Petraeus, now our former director of the Central Intelligence Agency, might have attached blackmail or the potential for blackmail to a scandal we have already called a case of criminal negligence.
Soldiers of the Future: Genetic Tests Might Help Pinpoint Strengths, Weaknesses
Battalions of super-soldiers could be selected for specific duties on the basis of their genetic make-up and then constantly monitored for signs of weakness. So says a report by the U.S. National Academies of Science (NAS).
If a soldier is struggling, a digital “buddy” might step in to warn about nearby threats, or advise comrades to zap the soldier with an electromagnet to increase his alertness. If the whole unit is falling apart, biosensors could warn central commanders to send in a replacement team.

Praise the Troops, Screw the Troops by RALPH PETERS July 30, 2012
It’s a rare politician, left, right or center, who won’t grab a photo opportunity with our troops then plaster the image all over campaign materials. Even the hard left has learned to mouth insincere praise for the men and women in uniform before attacking our national defense. Nonetheless, we’re about to see another shameless and shabby example of Capitol Hill hypocrisy: Those senators and representatives-including yours, my fellow conservatives–are going to put 100,000 veterans out on the street. And that’s just the beginning.

Which is why she just endorsed Rep. Charles Rangel for re-election.

House Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi on Thursday defended the health care reform law, tying it to the promises written in the Declaration of Independence.
The Affordable Care Act is “about life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness for the American people,” Pelosi told reporters on Capitol Hill. She said it “unlocks” them from a job to pursue happiness without the threat of losing their health insurance.

It was because of this ancient key, that, seven years after 9/11, the American economy collapsed. In the days after 9/11, the Federal Reserve slashed the base interest rate in an attempt to defy the consequences of the attacks. That action put us on the path leading to the collapse of the American economy seven years later. In 2008, the government made a second fatal mistake, another ill-fated financial decision, that would trigger the collapse of the American economy. Amazingly, it took place on the seventh anniversary of the uttering of the ancient vow on Capitol Hill.”

I was speaking with some people on Capitol Hill who are becoming alarmed at what is starting to appear to be a hidden oligarchy behind eliminating all constitutional rights and converting the United States into the new East Germany. The authority to indefinitely detain American citizens without any trial, lawyers, charges, or anything as they did to me until the Supreme Court told the government to respond, passed with flying colors. Obama said of he would never use it against Americans. Then why sign it?
Several states are now taking matters into their own hands. Virginia has become the first state in the nation to officially nullify the un-Constitutional NDAA legislation allowing indefinite detention without due process, and Arizona’s House has now passed similar legislation. This is the seeds of breaking up the United States.
But this does not end there! The face of our latest traitor to the Constitution is none other than Joseph “Joe” Lieberman (born February 24, 1942) the senior United States Senator from Connecticut. This is the man championing the kill switch for the entire internet. Newspapers are dying. The NY Times circulation is about 800,000. We are not far behind. There is a growing trend to move away from the mainstream press and look to the internet globally for the real
Stop Internet Censorship by Ron Paul
Listen to Ron Paul
Although Congress was back in session for scarcely more than a day last week, private citizens across the country managed to cause an uproar felt across Capitol Hill. The uproar took the form of hundreds of thousands of phone calls to both Senators and Representatives, urging them to oppose two draconian new bills that threaten the free and unbridled flow of information on the internet.
On Wednesday last week, dozens of prominent websites like Wikipedia, Reddit, and Craigslist, were blacked out in protest of two bills known in DC jargon as SOPA and PIPA. SOPA is the House bill; PIPA is its Senate companion. These bills ostensibly will combat internet piracy, and of course we also are told they will help us wage the never ending “war on terror.”
Bloggers unite to crush SOPA | EUTimes.net
The war over copyright infringement on the Internet might seem like an easy one for some members of Congress, but for supporters of the Stop Online Piracy Act, Capitol Hill is about to battle it out with some big opponents: bloggers.
From micromessages warning of the dangers of the act on Twitter in under 140 characters to affectations manifested in lengthy diatribes ripe with legalese, the blogosphere is brimming with concern over what the Stop Online Piracy Act, or SOPA, will do to the Internet. While lawmakers insist that the legislation is necessary to curtail copyright infringement, some users of the Web are writing on their sites that the Internet as we know it will be brought down by the act, weblogs and all.
“If either the US Senate’s Protect IP Act (PIPA) & the US House’s Stop Online Piracy Act (SOPA) become law, political blogs such as Red Mass Group [conservative] & Blue Mass Group [liberal] will cease to exist,” a blogger on the right-wing website Red Mass Group posted recently.

RUSH: Let’s move on to the congressional super committee. Now, I want you to have audio sound bite 20 standing by. I have to admit this is a little troubling. But I’m gonna reserve some of this because it’s reported in the Drive-By State-Controlled Media. First up, the Washington Post. “Republican Super Committee Members’ Tax Plan Gives Party An Identity Crisis — Growing Republican support for raising taxes to help reduce the deficit has prompted a GOP identity crisis, sparking a clash within the party over whether to abandon its bedrock anti-tax doctrine. Tensions have mounted in recent days as two of the GOP’s most fervent anti-tax stalwarts on Capitol Hill — Sen. Patrick J. Toomey (Pa.) and Rep. Jeb Hensarling (Tex.) — have lobbied party colleagues behind the scenes to forgo their old allegiances and even break campaign promises by embracing hundreds of billions of dollars in tax hikes.
“The two conservative lawmakers have pushed the increases as part of their work on the bipartisan congressional ‘super committee’ tasked with finding at least $1.2 trillion in deficit reductions by a Thanksgiving deadline. Their plan, which also addresses entitlement spending, would generate at least $300 billion in new tax revenue…” It’s what we talked about yesterday, but now the Washington Post is portraying this as these Republicans wanting to just flat-out raise taxes, and they are trying to get other Republicans in Congress to go along with it, to raise taxes. No, they want to lower rates. They’re not talking about raising tax rates. They’re talking about raising revenue, and the media is misrepresenting what they’re doing. Here’s the plan, folks — and I’m just gonna hit you between the eyes with this.

Bombshell: DOJ Considering Elimination of ATF (ATF? WTF?)
Multiple sources, including sources from ATF, DOJ and Congressional offices have said there is a white paper circulating within the Department of Justice, outlining the essential elimination of ATF. According to sources, the paper outlines the firing of at least 450 ATF agents in an effort to conduct damage control as Operation Fast and Furious gets uglier and as election day 2012 gets closer.
/snip
“It’s a serious white paper being circulated, how far they’d get with it I don’t know,” a confidential source said.
After a town hall meeting about Operation Fast and Furious in Tucson, Ariz. on Monday, ATF Whistleblower Vince Cefalu, who has been key in exposing details about Operation Fast and Furious, confirmed the elimination of ATF has been circulating as a serious idea for sometime now and that a white paper outlining the plan does exist.
Sounds great right? Eliminating ATF? But there is more to this story. Remember, low level ATF field agents, like ATF whistleblower John Dodson, were uncomfortable conducting Operation Fast and Furious from the beginning, but were told by high level officials within ATF that if they had a problem with the operation, they could find a job elsewhere.
“Allowing loads of weapons that we knew to be destined for criminals, this was the plan. It was so mandated,” ATF Whistleblower John Dodson said in testimony on Capitol Hill on June 15, 2011.
In fact, not only were the ATF agents forced to carry out the operation, they were told to go against what they had been taught in training.

Rand Paul Slams Congressional “Circus” Over Deadlines And Shutdown Threats
Kentucky Senator Rand Paul appeared on CNN last night to inject some sense into the latest stand off between Republicans and Democrats over government spending and the deficit.
In light of the fact that a government shutdown has been only narrowly averted once again, this time regarding FEMA funding, Paul noted that debating important issues seems to have been almost completely lost amidst a culture of partisan stand offs on Capitol Hill.
“American people are upset because we keep bumping up against deadlines. It sort of looks like poor planning or it looks like a circus up here because we always bump up against deadlines.” Paul told CNN host John King.
“But I can tell you I’m up here day after day not voting, sitting around, having no debate and then the deadline comes and it’s hurry up or the government shuts down.” Paul added.
“How come we didn’t have this debate last week or the week before or the week before that? Everything comes to a deadline, I think, because of poor leadership and poor planning in this place.” the Senator urged.
Defending his own position on reigning in government spending, no matter how small, Paul said that, though he would never be in favor of a government shutdown, such issues must be appropriately addressed if the deficit is ever going to be reduced.
“…every program up here you can say it’s only a tiny amount of money, but you know if you can’t cut 100 million here or you can’t offset three billion there, we’re never going to balance a $1.5 trillion deficit.” paul urged.
“So really you do have to look at even small amounts and it should be a priority. Should we be spending this money overseas in foreign aid or foreign welfare? Should we be building our bridges here in our country?”
* A d v e r t i s e m e n t
*
“Every time we have a new spending program, it’s got to be offset by cuts in other places and that’s the only responsible way for a legislature to act is to prioritize spending.” Paul added.
“For example, on the highway fund or you giving money to turtle tunnels, squirrel sanctuaries and flower beds and our bridges are crumbling. That’s what I asked the president. Can we not fix our bridges and put off some of these beautification projects for a while? I think that’s a bipartisan way of looking at it and I’m more than willing to work with the president on that.”

Annihilating Democracy with the Tea Party:
“America‘s Founding Fathers thought of everything.
They wanted to establish several centers of power in Washington rather than just one.
They wanted the occupant of the White House to be strong, but Congress was to have the power to check that strength.
The friction between Capitol Hill and the White House — a product of this system of checks and balances — was to make the decisions of America’s leaders cleverer, wiser and better…

Prison Planet.com Government Wants “Panic” To Push Through Debt Hike:
“I just got off the phone with a source on Capitol Hill who has spent the past few days trying to convince Republicans to vote for a debt ceiling hike.
He told me that the biggest obstacle he faces has been “market complacency.”
“Frankly, a bit of panic would be very helpful right now,” he said.
As he explained it, lots of people in Washington, D.C. expected that this would be a week marked by panic in the markets. Stocks would tank. Bonds would get clobbered. The dollar would do something dramatic. And all of this would help convince reluctant lawmakers that they had to reach a compromise on the debt ceiling.
Full story here.”

Only 2% of Network Reports on Debt Ceiling Battle Mention Public Opposition to Increase
The 2010 elections, which changed the balance of power in the House, were driven by popular opposition to government spending, debt and the threat of tax increases. Yet even with the federal debt limit already breached and only days left to prevent a national default, the media continue to ignore the public’s wishes.
The theme of network reports on the debt ceiling battle is that some agreement MUST be reached so that the limit can be increased, but many Americans disagree with raising the debt limit and are more concerned about government spending. But that has barely been mentioned in stories.
Polls taken by Gallup, CBS and AP have all registered significant worry about federal debt and opposition to an increase in the debt ceiling. But ABC, CBS and NBC coverage of the debt limit battle being waged on Capitol Hill has not reflected that fact.
