A former FBI counterterrorism agent has hinted at a vast and intrusive surveillance network used by the U.S. government to monitor its own citizens.
Tim Clemente admitted as much when he appeared on CNN Wednesday night.
Discussing the Boston Marathon attack and past telephone conversations of Katherine Russell and her now deceased husband, suspect Tamerlan Tsarnaev, Clemente said that those conversations would be available to investigators.

President’s Obama’s call for a 94-cent-a-pack hike on federal cigarette taxes to fund early childhood education programs is controversial.
Anti-smoking groups applaud the proposal, but some tax experts and tobacco companies are against it.
The case for the tax. The tax is being presented as way to fund education and reduce smoking rates. It would raise roughly $78 billion over 10 years.
“The proposed tobacco tax increase would have substantial public health benefits, particularly for young Americans,” the president’s budget read. “Researchers have found that raising taxes on cigarettes significantly reduces consumption, with especially large effects on youth smoking.”

Appearing on CNN Wednesday, the Washington Post’s Bob Woodward said a “very senior person” at the White House warned him that he would “regret doing this,” referring to his outspoken criticism of President Barack Obama’s handling of the impending forced cuts known as the sequester.
“I think they’re confused,” Woodward told CNN host Wolf Blitzer. Woodward apparently went on to criticize Obama further over the sequester the same day he received the warning from the White House.

Who else could it have been? Jindal and Paul Ryan have already done it, Rand Paul’s probably still too close to the rEVOLution for Republican leaders to be comfortable with him in a spot like this, and Chris Christie would just end up talking about how terrific Obama’s speech was. Half the reason party leaders are pushing amnesty, I’m convinced, is because Rubio’s that good in front of a mic and this issue gives him access to lots and lots of microphones. If, as McCain bluntly concedes, immigration reform is all about earning goodwill from Latino voters, then of course the party’s biggest Latino star gets this platform.

Boy, times change. Jonathan Karl, when he was at CNN, I did a number of interviews with Jonathan Karl, and he was like our old buddy Jim Rutenberg at the New York Times. It was a guy that we trusted. He was a genuine reporter. He was right down the middle. He’d print what I said. He didn’t engage in gotcha journalism, and he was pleasant to talk to. He’s now undergone a massive transformation.
And the interesting thing is that I haven’t changed since Jonathan Karl knew me. I mean, he knows who I am and he knows what I’m about. He knows the kind of person I am. But that doesn’t matter. He has other considerations now because he works at ABC. And last night on ABC’s World News Tonight, he’s now the chief White House correspondent, Jonathan Karl, reporting on Obama’s gun control plan.

Some of the petitions sought approval for states to secede after Obama’s re-election, while others called on the White House to disavow executive orders that restrict gun rights, or to deport CNN’s British-born, progressive host Piers Morgan.

“Both the Bible and the Constitution were well intentioned but they are basically, inherently flawed. Hence, the need to amend it,” Morgan told Warren during a conversation where Morgan emphasized the need for America to separate Church and State.

On Monday, Research Director of the Independence Institute David Kopel appeared on CNN’s Piers Morgan Tonight to debate the issue of gun-related violence with Piers and Josh Horwitz from the Coalition to Stop Gun Violence.

In the video below, you can see the debate unfold. What’s most telling in this exchange is Morgan’s admission that he, personally, would like to “Remove every gun in America.”
Of course, what preceded this statement only seconds earlier was the perfunctory disclaimer, which is often made by those who secretly wish to pass onerous gun laws, “I do have a respect for the Second Amendment.”

Why weren’t the requests for help during the ted attack answered and why did the administration think it had to cover up all the things that occurred before by putting out to the American people a narrative that I think will turn out to be absolutely false?”
Sen. Kay Bailey Hutchison(R-Texas), agreed, saying that more than 10 days after the deadly attack, “top level people” were disseminating incorrect information.

Even CNNis running articles about how polarized politics in America has become and how vicious both sides can be.

There is a lot of anger and frustration out there that has been bottled up for a long time, and this election could end up being a trigger event that releases a lot of it. Both sides are entirely convinced that they can win this tightly contested election, and one side is going to feel bitterly disappointed when it does not happen. Both sides are talking as if it is going to be “the end of America” or “the end of the world” if they lose this election. This is particularly true when it comes to Obama supporters.

There is a lot on this blog that, in my opinion, doesn’t point to any pre-knowledge. However, the second point that is made, and supported by video, is that Obama knew who the questioner was regarding the Benghazi attack BEFORE the questioner identifies himself.
Is this the lull before the storm? (“The big question is will he lead the Socialist Revolution of America from the Oval Office or from the street as a returned community organizer with the power of “former President” added to his name.”)
Nineteen days out from Election 2012 and are there’s a nagging unease making it feel like the proverbial lull before the storm.

the question is being raised as to why, of all the material Crowley could possibly have had in front of her that night, Candy Crowley had the transcript from the Rose Garden Benghazi statement — and Obama seemed to know that…there are a lot of people raising the question of behind-the-scenes coordination — all stemming from Obama’s instruction (and it certainly sounded like an instruction) to “Get the transcript.”
Followed instantly by Crowley complying — and silencing Romney on the topic.
When Romney was indeed correct.
