While most big-box chain stores and restaurants love to pander to leftist causes, two national restaurant chains recently dived into the public fray on the side of political incorrectness. Denny’s restaurant made a commercial extolling the right to keep and bear arms as part of America’s greatness, and the Chick-fil-A president made a statement that his company supports “the biblical definition of the family unit.” Predictably, the left has gone ballistic–especially in their paranoid reaction to Chick-fil-A president Dan Cathy’s comment.

Chick-fil-A is a successful American fast food chain. Based in the Atlanta area, the chain has over 1600 restaurants in 39 states and Washington, D.C.

As the name suggests, the Chick-fil-A chain specializes in chicken, not beef products.

It’s also the sponsor of the annual college football game played in Atlanta, formerly known as the Peach Bowl and now simply the “Chick-fil-A Bowl.”

The company is owned by the Cathy family. The Cathys are devout Baptists. One of the company’s hallmarks is that it closes on Sundays, almost unheard of for a fast food chain.

Many customers like the restaurant’s food, and Chick-fil-A has done well. But now it faces protests, criticism and a harsh challenge. Why?

At what point did being right and normal become “controversial”? Oh, we know the cultural tectonic shift from traditional moral values to chaotic debauchery began in earnest in the 1960s, and we have seen our society gradually and steadily slide into moral decay since then.

Chick-fil-A president: Gay marriage is ‘inviting God’s judgment on our nation’

 

Dan Cathy, the president and chief operating officer of popular fast food chain Chick-fil-A, said in a radio interview this week that legalizing same-sex marriage is “inviting God’s judgment on our nation.”

Appearing on “The Ken Coleman Show,” Cathy spoke of his company’s pride in its socially conservative character, but then offered an assessment of same-sex marriage that might lose the chain a few customers.

“I think we are inviting God’s judgment on our nation when we shake our fist at Him and say, ‘We know better than you as to what constitutes a marriage,’” said Cathy.
