A person who has their firearms stolen is the victim of a crime. To impose upon them the affirmative duty to report same to the Attorney General is an outrage. These people are not criminals, they are victims in that their property has been taken unlawfully.
This will lead to thousands of annual prosecutions of people who are claimed not have not reported “within 24 hours” their “alleged knowledge” of the theft. While there are certainly times that knowledge is obvious, such as when someone tears your gun safe off the concrete floor and rips a hole in the room in which it was formerly present to do so, a huge number of firearms are stolen without the person who has them taken being immediately aware of it.

When Congress reconvenes next month, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid is expected to bring gun control back to the Senate floor. If this occurs, I will oppose any legislation that undermines Americans’ constitutional right to bear arms or their ability to exercise this right without being subject to government surveillance.
Restricting Americans’ ability to purchase firearms readily and freely will do nothing to stop national tragedies such as those that happened in Newtown, Conn., and in Aurora, Colo. It will do much to give criminals and potential killers an unfair advantage by hampering law-abiding citizens’ ability to defend themselves and their families.
Are We Being “Set-Up?”… “I can’t put my finger on it, but I have this nagging feeling that Senator Dianne Feinstein’s assault weapons ban is not gone. My paranoia tells me the democrats are going to squeeze it through a “back door” somehow.”
I can’t put my finger on it, but I have this nagging feeling that Senator Dianne Feinstein’s assault weapons ban is not gone. My paranoia tells me the democrats are going to squeeze it through a “back door” somehow.
There are those among gun right’s advocates who believe that having Feinstein’s assault weapons ban tacked onto another (a different) gun control bill, of some kind, will make it easier to pass the Senate.
Consider this: “It’s a trap! It’s a non-event. What’s going to happen is they’re going to take another bill, and that could be the veterans’ gun ban and then bring that to the floor,” said Mike Hammond, chief counsel for Gun Owners of America, a pro-Second Amendment group.
Hammond said bringing a less controversial bill to the floor will make it easier to find the 60 votes needed to open debate.
Hammond said Feinstein’s proposed ban on “assault weapons” will be offered as an amendment to Reid’s bill.
Pastor Roger Anghis — Do We Really See What Is Happening?
NewsWithViews.com
When we look at what is going on in America today we have to ask the question, “Is anyone really paying attention?” We basically have a two party system that is scattered with 15 or so sub-parties. The only Parties of real influence are the Democrats and the Republicans. The question there is, is there really that much difference between the two? On the surface, they are miles apart but a closer examination shows that there really is not that much difference.
I review the bills that are introduced into Congress weekly. It takes anywhere from an hour to sometimes two and a half hours to review these bills. When I examine these laws that are introduced to Congress you will find that any law that involves raising taxes and implementing more and more regulations on businesses and people in general and bills that nibble away at our Constitutional rights you will find that they come from the Democrat Party 100% of the time. When we see bills that attempt to lower taxes, re-establish Constitution al rights, remove regulations they come from the Republican Party virtually 100% of the time.

Gun grabbing lawmakers at both the State and Federal level continue to push forward with their anti-American, anti-2nd Amendment, anti-gun agendas, even as more individuals, State legislatures and manufacturers of weapons, weapons accessories and ammunition push back. It almost seems as if the elected class is itching for a fight.
And when one considers that the Department of Homeland Security has contracted for 1.6 billion rounds of ammunition — much of it hollow points or for use in sniper rifles — for its 55,000 armed agents, plus 2,717 armored personnel carriers and 7,000 select fire “personal defense weapons,” it seems even more apparent that’s the goal.
For perspective, 1.6 billion rounds is enough to fight the Iraq war for 20 years. It’s enough to shoot every American five times. It’s 28,000 tons, or the equivalent of three guided missile destroyers. It’s almost 30,000 target practice rounds per armed agent — but of course, because they are more expensive, hollow points are not used for target practice.

After a meeting yesterday with Harry Reid (D-NV), Sen. Dianne Feinstein learned that her controversial assault weapons ban mess will not be part of the gun control bill package heading to the senate floor next month.
Are All Democrats, Politicians and Their Voters, Marxists?… “I know of no Democrat in Congress, or any state legislature, that has stood up in the last few years and defended the Constitution, as written by our founders. Are there no Americans left in the Democrat Party?”

Diane FeinsteinThis past week the Senate Judiciary Committee passed Sen. Diane Feinstein’s gun control measure that outlaws more than 150 different firearms by a strictly party line (10-8) vote, despite a 2nd Amendment that clearly says “shall not be infringed”.
It doesn’t say “some firearms can be infringed”, or “some magazines can be infringed”; it says “shall not be infringed”. State legislatures in California, Illinois, New York, and now Colorado have all passed some sort of gun control measures that clearly go against the Constitution, the 2nd Amendment, and the intentions of our Founding Fathers.
I often wonder what happened to the “Blue Dog Democrats” who were so vocal and so visible during the TEA Party rallies in 2009/2010. Where have these “champions of freedom” in the Democrat Party gone?
When their re-election was in danger they were more than happy to stand up and deny any support of Democrat Party Marxism. Now??? Crickets!!!!

Gun owners who can’t buy high capacity ammo magazines because of new laws have another option: Print them.
Gun control measures passed or proposed in the wake of the Sandy Hook school massacre have targeted magazines that can feed 30 rounds or more into the firing chambers of AR-15s and other semi-automatic guns. New York has banned magazines holding more than seven rounds, and a federal bill proposed by Sen.
Dianne Feinstein, D-Calif., would ban magazines holding more than 10 rounds.
What’s an Assault Weapon?
Last week, Sen. Dianne Feinstein introduced a new, supposedly improved version of the federal “assault weapon” ban that expired in 2004. But like that earlier law, which the California Democrat also sponsored, Feinstein’s bill prohibits the manufacture and sale of guns based on characteristics that have little or nothing to do with the danger they pose.
Although arbitrary distinctions are a defining characteristic of “assault weapon” bans, recent polls indicate that most Americans support them. New survey data suggest one possible explanation: Most Americans don’t know what “assault weapons” are.

According to The Washington Post, the Obama administration is considering a “national database” of all firearms in the United States to “track the movement and sale of weapons.” If such a database comes to fruition the database will lead to confiscation.
Last year Canada ended its national long gun registry, a national database of every rifle and shotgun in the country that was supposed to help police track the movement of and sale of weapons. When it was introduced twenty years ago critics said the registration of firearms would eventually lead to confiscation, a criticism dismissed as ridiculous, yet that’s what happened and more right up until its dismantling.
As recently as last winter law abiding gun owners who had complied with the registry were having their rifles confiscated. In late 2011 hundreds if not thousands of people who had legally purchased the Armi Jager AP80, a .22 calibre variant of the AK47, were informed that their rifles had been deemed illegal and must be surrendered .

Pushing back against calls for greater gun control from some members in Congress, conservative groups have now launched a Chick-fil-A style ‘Gun Appreciation Day’ set to take place on January 19, 2013.
According to US News and World Report:
“If all goes according to plan, gun lovers will come out in droves on January 19 to support gun stores, gun ranges, and gun shows.”
“The national “Gun Appreciation Day,” which is being launched by a coalition of conservative and gun rights groups, will take place a day before California Democratic Sen. Dianne Feinstein is expected to introduce legislation for an assault weapon ban,” according to the Report.
“We felt that there needed to be a swift, strong statement, Chick-fil-A style, to show that we’re not only here but we’re vocal,” Gun Appreciation Day chairman and president of Republican new media consulting firm Political Media, Inc., Larry Ward tells the Report.

Senator Diane Feinstein: “The Modern Jesse James”
Congress should be convening a criminal investigation. On October 8, 1994, the biggest gold heist in history occurred, but this theft lacked the melodrama of a Jesse James’ holdup or the excitement of a Brink’s truck robbery. Nary a word was reported by the media even though this thievery was committed in the light of day. The citizens that were being robbed tried to cry out for help but the lawmen wouldn’t listen because unbeknownst to them, they were helping the bandits gain their booty.

The Delusional Left
Predictably, Nancy Pelosi applauded Rep. Bobby Rush when he donned a hoodie on the floor of the House to show his solidarity with the likes of Al Sharpton, Jesse Jackson and the Black Panthers, in their calls for George Zimmerman’s head on a platter. Meanwhile, back in Chicago’s 1st congressional district, home to Mr. Rush, during one recent Thursday night, 13 people were shot, two of them fatally. I understand that the shooters all wore hoodies. I trust that Mrs. Pelosi can provide Bobby Rush with an alibi.
In the meantime, in the NCAA basketball tournament, the Final Four consisted of Kentucky, Ohio State, Louisville and Kansas. So, Obama got the first two heavy favorites right, but didn’t foresee Louisville and Kansas beating out Missouri and North Carolina. But to be fair, the prognosticator-in-chief, as usual, was playing politics, and clearly decided to ally himself with schools located in swing states.
Although I assume that the four conservative justices on the Supreme Court will decide what to do about ObamaCare on the constitutional merits of the bill, and that the four left-wing justices will decide the case based on their political bias, I pray that Justice Kennedy will not be overly reluctant to undo what Congress has done. I am hoping that he will at least consider the fact that, even with huge pluralities in the House and Senate, Obama, Pelosi and Reid, had to employ huge bribes and thug-like intimidation in order to get a number of their fellow Democrats to pass the damn thing.

WASHINGTON, DC, December 15, 2011 (LifeSiteNews.com) – Reports that President Obama is poised to sign a controversial Defense Authorization Act that includes a provision allowing the indefinite detention of suspected terrorists has come as unwelcome news to many political activists, including pro-lifers.
While the language of the bill specifically targets those with suspected ties to Al Qaeda or the 9/11 attacks, Sen. Rand Paul, an opponent of the law, pointed out in a speech on the Senate floor that existing federal policies define terrorist suspects so broadly as to invite the arbitrary targeting of innocent American civilians.

Preparing for the Final Takedown?
There is a shocking piece of legislation working its way through Congress. A Defense Authorization bill for 2012 allows for military detentions of American citizens on American soil. These can be indefinite detentions, with no trial.
The American Civil Liberties Union statement (more of an alert) on November 23, 2011 deserves special attention:
“The U.S. Senate is considering the unthinkable: changing detention laws to imprison people — including Americans living in the United States itself — indefinitely and without charge.”
“The Defense Authorization bill — a “must-pass” piece of legislation — is headed to the Senate floor with troubling provisions that would give the President — and all future presidents — the authority to indefinitely imprison people, without charge or trial, both abroad and inside the United States.”
“If enacted, sections 1031 and 1032 of the NDAA would:
1) Explicitly authorize the federal government to indefinitely imprison without charge or trial American citizens and others picked up inside and outside the United States;

In a deep bow to the homosexual lobby, a small army of Democrats in the U.S. House of Representatives has introduced legislation that would extend employee benefits to the same-sex partners of federal workers. Under H.R. 3485, homosexual partners of federal employees would be eligible for such benefits as retirement, life insurance, health insurance, workers compensation, and death benefits.
“The federal government must set an example as an equal opportunity employer,” the bill’s sponsor, lesbian Congresswoman Tammy Baldwin (D-Wis.) was quoted by The Hill as saying. “If we are to treat all federal employees fairly and recruit the best and the brightest to serve in government, we need this legislation.”
No conspiracy theory: ‘Gunwalker’ being used RIGHT NOW to justify more gun laws
From Jon Stewart and Media Matters, to the more serious news media, it has become fashionable to contemptuously dismiss the idea that “Project Gunwalker” was and remains intended as justification for more onerous gun regulation as a paranoid “conspiracy theory.” Yesterday’s Arizona Daily Star provides a good example, in observing the problem with comparing “Operation Fast and Furious” to the Watergate scandal (although the article misses the most obviouis weakness with such a comparison–that Watergate did not get anyone killed):
What’s missing in the Watergate comparison is a clear motive for the Obama White House to send weapons to Mexico. The National Rifle Association and its allies have filled that void with a theory that, in Babeu’s words, Fast and Furious was part of a “master plan” to bring about more gun control.

With very little time left on the clock to save the Patriot Act from expiring on Friday, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid had to work some procedural gymnastics to get past Sen. Rand Paul’s many objections (and amendments), as well as a number of members in his own party.
Sen. Reid basically killed his current bill and and opted to take up a House small business bill (it’s in a form that’s considered filibuster-proof as far as starting debate goes). Neither Rand Paul nor anyone else can object to this. Reid then amended the House bill with the entire text of the Patriot Act extension.
In doing so, Sen. Reid has essentially extended the Patriot Act although there are some steps that must still take place; it will be likely Thursday before a cloture vote can occur. It’s unclear whether Reid can get to final passage in time, but these things have a way of working themselves out.”

Reid Preempts Paul, Slips Patriot Act in Small Business Bill:
“Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid has circumvented a call by the newly elected senator from Kentucky, Rand Paul, to debate the Patriot Act.
In order to prevent a filibuster, Reid performed “some procedural gymnastics,” according toFox News, and slipped Patriot Act language into a House small business bill that is considered filibuster-proof.
In doing so, Reid has skirted objections to the bill led by Paul and has moved closer to extending the Patriot Act without debate. Democrats have applauded this effort to rush the extension into law without debate.
“The suggestion that the extension should be debated fueled considerable opposition, particularly from Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D – CA), who insisted it would be a ‘huge mistake’ to debate the bill and might threaten national security,” writes Jason Ditz.”
