This isn’t the first time that the world has been in this position. This time is not different. History shows that there are serious, serious consequences to running unsustainably high debts and deficits. Whether you supported Ron Paul or not, I believe this video is worth watching if for no other reason than the implications that it brings to light.

A huge story on July 13 was the death of Obama campaign staffer Alex Okrent. Apparently, he had been at Obama’s campaign headquarters in Chicago, fine one minute, dead the next. Witnesses say he collapsed, whereby paramedics were called, and the next thing everyone knows, he’s dead.
Young, twenty-nine years old? Mysteriously dies?

GOP presidential candidate Ron Paul said on CBS’ Face The Nation Sunday that he is determined to continue his campaign in an effort to “save the Republican Party from themselves”.
The Congressman declared that there was no way he would quit because he is the only candidate who wants to restore the Republican party to its founding principles of limited government.
“I am talking to a whole generation, which is expanding,” Paul said.
“When I can get 52,000 people out on a college campus as wildly enthusiastic to hear the message of liberty and freedom and less war and curtailing the Federal Reserve, there is no way I’m going to quit speaking out on this and there is no way I’m going to give up on the effort to get the Republicans back to their roots.”
“In some ways they say, ‘well why don’t you give up and this will help the Republican Party.’ The truth is I’m trying to save the Republican Party from themselves because they want perpetual wars,” Paul added.

(Feb. 1, 2012) — Knock-knock, Reality Check here. When I was a little tyke, eight and a half, I remember my first Cub Scout Jamboree when I was looking forward to my first night away from home and my first night in a sleeping bag. Very exciting, and I wanted everything to go as smoothly as possible. So when I was checking my equipment the night before, I noticed an annoying tag on the outside of my rolled-up sleeping bag, or in today’s PC jargon, REM inducer unit, that proclaimed the removal of the tag was “Punishable by Law.” My brother said, “You better not! You’ll get in trouble!” at which point I ripped the tag off and waited for the retribution. And I waited. After around five minutes I figured the authorities planned to ambush me when my guard was down, but I never let my guard down, and here it is, 50+ years later, and I can testify that if you never let your guard down, it’ll be okay.
There are some things that can be corrected, and then there are the things that can’t be corrected. A “can’t be” example would be when I was driving to the store and my kid was riding shotgun, in the baby seat, and his window was opened a little and he took the pacifier out of his mouth and held it out the window. He looked at me and I said, “If you drop it, it’s gone.”.
