And that most primitive of human instincts? You got it…
Yep, the instinct to NOT click on a blog.

Great read of many pages. This is from page 4:
The mania for planning and maintaining statistics… was also an important weapon in the arsenal of terror.
This was exactly the Carusone procedure created for dealing with Glenn Beck.
This of course is, what causes Commissar Carusone to say of Rush’s view of Fluke that Rush spoke “almost 50 smears for three days” about Fluke. Count ‘em. Not 49 “smears”. Not 51 “smears.” Precisely 50. With not a soul asking: “Who gets to determine what is a smear?” Answer: Why, Commissar Carusone, of course.
This is straight from the playbook of Stalin’s “State Political Directorate.” One of the oldest tricks in the leftist playbook is given new life in 21st century online America. Using a site, found here, that Carusone says was “started… in 2009, 2010.”
So if we go to StopRush.org, like clockwork in the evolution of leftist political police, we find what was described in that June 2010 interview. There it is, the “running list of sponsors that have dropped the show and another of those that have not.” Indeed, at the very top of the site are sections labeled “Dropped Sponsors” and “Remaining Sponsors.”

Hrmm. I feel like this piece is really just expressing the obvious. Radical leftists intolerant? You don’t say! The historical excerpting is bombastic, even if true; tyranny only reigns in the absence of dissent.
But more to the point, the exposition of the game plan seems plain to me as well. If you’re aware of what Mediamatters is up to, the plan of pressuring sponsors has been what they’ve been doing for years. Even if we were to make the offensiveness of the statements a priori, they soundbite them, feed them into media by creating social buzz and then, once the din is palpable, spring the “how can you support this cretin?!”.
That’s why it is important for normal, decent Americans to learn how it works. Once you recognize it you’ll see it done over and over again. Conservatives who can’t predict the radical left are losers. As in football, we have to study the playbook of the opposition. It’s the first step toward beating them. They are more ruthless and coordinated than conservatives are. We are smarter but less coordinated.
Fluke had made the preposterous claim, while addressing House Democrats over President Obama’s rule forcing Catholic institutions to pay for contraception, that the cost of birth control was prohibitive for Georgetown law students. Limbaugh responded by calling Fluke a “slut” and a “prostitute” who is “having so much sex, she can’t afford the contraception; she wants you and me – the taxpayers – to pay her.”
Progressive dudgeon hit the stratosphere. Democrat Representative Louise Slaughter wrote a letter that decried Limbaugh’s “sexually charged, patently offensive, and obscene language” and “atrocious and hurtful words.”
MSNB’s Jonathan Capehart called the comments “hateful” and “rude,” and said they were “low” even for Limbaugh. Democrat “strategist” Krystal Ball (sic) called Limbaugh “despicable,” “disgusting,” and a “loathsome individual.” The Washington Post’s Jamila Bey called the remarks “hate speech” and claimed they “crossed into the realm of sexual harassment.” The president of Georgetown said the remarks were “misogynistic, vitriolic, and a misrepresentation of the position of our student.”
And in the midst of crisis in the Middle East and the ticking entitlement time bomb, President Obama found time personally to call Fluke and deplore Limbaugh’s “inappropriate personal attacks.”
