Judge Andrew Napolitano weighed in this morning on Fox and Friends on the scandal involving the IRS‘s targeting of conservative political groups, like the Tea Party.

 

 

 

The IRS admitted last week after years of pressure from conservative watchdog groups that it had in fact been singling out right-wing organizations for extra scrutiny of their applications for tax-exempt status.

 

The judge said the IRS’s actions appear to be a clear violation of the First Amendment.

Donald Trump said Monday that if the details surrounding the IRS targeting tea party groups and last week’s Benghazi hearing had come out last fall, President Barack Obama might not have won reelection.

“This is a big, big story that is probably going to get a lot bigger,” Trump said of the IRS scandal on Fox News. “This is a terrible thing. It’s just not supposed to happen. They have laws against it. If this were somebody else, this would be the biggest story.”

The U.S. Army is directing troops to remove a Bible inscription that a vendor etched into the serial numbers of weapon scopes, Fox News has learned.

 

 

 

Soldiers at Fort Wainwright in Alaska told Fox News they received a directive to turn in their scopes so the Bible references could be removed.

While the press in Colorado is consumed with its coverage of the capital murder prosecution of James Holmes for the slaughter he perpetrated in a movie theater in the town of Aurora on July 20, 2012, a related court proceeding is taking place in the same courthouse that the local and national press would be wise to cover.

Winter’s report cited unnamed law enforcement sources and the defense immediately complained that investigators had violated the judge’s gag order issued days beforehand.

It’s most gratifying that people are beginning to wake up to the bullying tactics of the White House toward those in the press who occasionally stray from the government-owned media model, but this has been going on for a while.

 

Veteran reporter Bob Woodward has said in interviews with Politico and CNN that a White House official warned him he would “regret” publishing a story reporting that the sequestration was President Obama’s idea.

“(The White House aide) yelled at me for about a half-hour,” said Woodward. The aide later apologized to Woodward in an email and claimed he was not making a threat but merely observing that Woodward would regret “staking out that claim.”

 

Does the aide’s story sound credible in light of the context? He was yelling at Woodward, not making a casual observation about Woodward’s journalistic accuracy. Why? Because Woodward’s account undermines Obama’s credibility on the story dominating the political landscape now: the sequestration.

 

 

Obama is on another campaign tour, jetting about the nation on the people’s dime, accusing Republicans of putting the nation’s essential services in jeopardy because they want to protect the rich.

President Obama willingly admits he dispatched CIA agents to kill an American and his teenage son and the son’s American friend while they were in a desert in Yemen in 2011. He says he did so because the adult had encouraged folks to wage war on the United States and the children were just “collateral damage.” He says further that he’ll do this again when he is convinced that killing Americans will keep America safe. He says he knows the adult encouraged evil, and his encouragement caused the deaths of innocents. The adult was never charged with a crime or indicted by a grand jury; he was just targeted for death by the president himself and executed by a CIA drone.

Judge Napolitano on Fox: Watch for Obama in his SOTU message tonight to indicate he “can’t wait” for Congress to act and thus will use EOs to circumvent the law.

 

He will likely order the EPA to tax ammunition to pay for “the environmental damage and clean-up.” In general, he believes Obama will bury Congress in a siege of EOs, knowing that Congress will not stop him. Only Congress can levy taxes, so this sets-up a fight between Obama and the so far eunich House, a fight he wants.

That’s not the way things get done.” And I remember, I talked to Boehner here in the EIB Southern Command offices some short weeks later, and he brought that up, and he said, “Why would he say that to us? We’re sitting in there talking about legislative action coming down the pike in his first year, ‘Can’t listen to Rush Limbaugh. You gotta stop listening to Limbaugh. That’s not how things get done.’”

I said, “You really don’t know why? He was hoping one of you would agree with him, Mr. Speaker. He was hoping that one of you Republicans would go to the microphone after that meeting and agree with him, ’cause his whole purpuse is to eliminate any opposition.”

“Ah, Rush, that’s not what he’s trying to do.” Boehner disagreed with me and said that I was misreading the situation. Here we are four years later, and it’s the same thing. Different words, same thing. “The Republicans would be more willing to work with the Democrats,” meaning, the Republicans would be more willing to cave in.
