The US government has blocked a Texas-based company from distributing details online of how to make a plastic gun using a 3-D printer.
The ban, by the State Department citing international arms control law, comes just days after the world’s first such gun was successfully fired.

The first downloadable gun has gone viral.
The plastic firearm that can be churned out on a 3-D printer and easily assembled was downloaded at least 50,000 times Monday, according to the self-described anarchist who made it available for free online.
Cody Wilson of Defense Distributed, a collective of gun advocates, said the most downloads were done in Spain followed by the United States.

The future just got a lot scarier.
A Texas company is set to release blueprints for making a plastic gun with a 3-D printer — a development Sen. Chuck Schumer called “stomach-churning” Sunday.
Defense Distributed, a collective of gun access advocates headed by self-described “free-market anarchist” Cody Wilson, has announced it made such an untraceable gun with the new plastic-making technology. The nonprofit Texas group intends to post blueprints for “The Liberator” (pictured) online this week.

Former congresswoman Gabby Giffords’ op-ed piece is getting a lot of praise on Twitter. This is the part of the piece that caught our attention: What they will do is create one fair system for all gun buyers, instead of the giant loophole we have now. Right now, we have one system where responsible gun owners take a background check —
And then we have a second system for those who don’t want to take a background check. Those people — criminals, or people suffering from mental illness, like the young man who shot me — can buy as many guns as they want on the Internet or at a gun show, no questions asked. Giffords seems to be implying that her shooter, Jared Lee Loughner, didn’t undergo a background check. This is not true. Loughner obtained the gun legally, and he passed a background check.

On Rush Limbaugh’s radio show on Monday, National Review’s Mark Steyn explained why an incident involving a seven-year-old boy’s punishment and the subsequent reaction for chewing a Pop Tart in the shape of a gun is a sign the country is “doomed.”
Steyn, author of “After America: Get Ready for Armageddon,” compared this generation of children, who may have felt threatened by the so-called Pop Tart gun, to the American generation that stormed the beaches of Normandy.

Oregon gun owners cheered by the demise of Sen. Ginny Burdick‘s proposals to ban large magazines and scary-looking semiautomatic weapons should leave the Champagne in the fridge for the time being. The Legislature’s gun-control advocates are still hard at work, and the direction in which they’re heading would create problems for law-abiding citizens over the long term and, perhaps, do nothing to enhance public safety.
Philadelphia fifth-grader searched, threatened, called a murderer over paper gun
Melody Valentin, a fifth-grader in Philadelphia, Penn., was reportedly searched in front of her class and called a murderer for having a piece of paper that looked like a gun, The Blaze reported
Thursday.
According to Dianna Kelly, the girl’s mother, her grandfather made the “gun” for her the previous day using a folded piece of paper with a corner torn out of it.
When the girl went to throw the piece of paper away, a boy in her class saw it and called school administrators.

There are conversations taking place all over America. They are not being screamed from the mountain tops, they are being whispered from one end of the nation to the other.
The Marxists have decided that Sandy Hook Elementary is a good enough reason to go ahead with the gun confiscation model used by totalitarian governments the world over. Senators, Governors, Representatives and the President have all come out to warn us that they are coming. How they come and how hard are the only questions left to be answered. We know who is proposing gun confiscation, or registration in preparation for confiscation. They are not shy about it with the media behind them, encouraging their treasonous acts.
WHY GOOD PEOPLE NEED SEMIAUTOMATIC FIREARMS AND “HIGH CAPACITY” MAGAZINES … Part I
If you’re reading this, you’ve probably had a conversation with someone in the last few days who asked, “Why do ordinary law-abiding people need those semiautomatic firearms with magazines that can hold more than ten cartridges?” There are lots of sound answers.
For one thing, defensive firearms are meant to be “equalizers,” force multipliers that can allow one good person to defend against multiple evil people. To allow one good person to defend against a single evil person so much stronger and/or bigger and/or more violent than he or she, that the attacker’s potentially lethal assault can be stopped. History shows that it often takes many gunshots to stop even a single determined aggressor. Most police officers have seen the famous autopsy photo in the cops-only text book “Street Survival” of the armed robber who soaked up 33 police 9mm bullets before he stopped trying to kill the officers.
Consider Lance Thomas, the Los Angeles area watch shop owner who was in many shootouts with multiple gang bangers who tried to rob and murder him.
He shot several of them, and discovered that it took so many hits to stop them that he placed multiple loaded handguns every few feet along his workbench. That’s not possible in a home, or when lawfully carrying concealed on the street: a semiautomatic pistol with a substantial cartridge capacity makes much more sense for that defensive application.

SEMINOLE, Fla. – As a pawn shop owner, Frank James was always a big believer in gun rights and the second amendment. After all, it was his bread and butter business. But after what he saw in Newtown, Connecticut on Friday, he’s had a change of heart. “I basically broke into tears and looked up on the wall, seeing the types of firearms I am selling,” James said.
At the Loan Star Pawn store in Seminole, a glass display case that once housed several Bushmaster AR-15 assault rifles is now empty. The glass counters normally filled with handguns has been completely cleared.
“I’m not going to be part of it anymore,” James said. He has several copies of the exact rifle suspected in the massacre.
“The model, the brand, everything,” he said.
The father of four said he was especially touched knowing that his youngest child, a six-year old daughter, was the same age as many of those children who were shot to death.
“I dropped my daughter off at school this morning. That was enough for me,” James said. “Conscience wins over making money.”
The store manager came into the pawn shop Monday and saw James taking down signs advertising guns, and asked him what was going on.
“He said don’t take the guns out of the safe. We’re no longer selling them,” said Leia Thomas. “I was shocked.”
why the gun is civilization… (“Human beings only have two ways to deal with one another: reason and force. If you want me to do something for you, you have a choice of either convincing me via argument, or force me to do your bidding under threat of force”)

Human beings only have two ways to deal with one another: reason and force. If you want me to do something for you, you have a choice of either convincing me via argument, or force me to do your bidding under threat of force. Every human interaction falls into one of those two categories, without exception. Reason or force, that’s it.
In a truly moral and civilized society, people exclusively interact through persuasion. Force has no place as a valid method of social interaction, and the only thing that removes force from the menu is the personal firearm, as paradoxical as it may sound to some.
The Psy-Ops War on Preppers by Daisy Luther
First of all, where is the headquarters of this “Doomsday Preppers Movement” I’ve been reading about? And where can I sign up? I didn’t realize there was an organized movement, one deserving of capital letters. Who is the leader of this “movement”? I’d like to meet him (or her) immediately!
The propaganda machine is not only going after guns in the wake of the terrible tragedy at Sandy Hook Elementary School – this has become a two-for-the-price-of-one crisis, allowing the government and media to yet again, demonize preppers.
Various techniques are used, by any set of groups, and aimed to influence a target audience’s value systems, belief systems, emotions, motives, reasoning, or behavior. It is used to induce confessions or reinforce attitudes and behaviors favorable to the originator’s objectives, and are sometimes combined with black operations or false flag tactics. Target audiences can be governments, organizations, groups, and individuals.

The mother of Newtown school massacre gunman Adam Lanza was a survivalist who was stockpiling food because she thought the world economy was on the verge of collapse.
Nancy Lanza began hoarding such items because she feared that the financial crisis was going to bring about the end of civilized society.
She reportedly became ‘obsessed’ with guns and taught Adam how to shoot, but on Friday he turned on her and blasted the woman to death while she laid in her own bed.
Law enforcement sources told the Hartford Courant that she had not gotten up – and could have even been asleep – when her son killed her.

The gun is the only personal weapon that puts a 100-pound woman on equal footing with a 220-pound mugger, a 75-year old retiree on equal footing with a 19-year old gangbanger, and a single gay guy on equal footing with a carload of drunk guys with baseball bats. The gun removes the disparity in physical strength, size, or numbers between a potential attacker and a defender.

When They Come For Your Guns, You Will Turn Them Over

“When they come for my gun, they will have to pry it out of my cold, dead hands,” is a common refrain I often hear from the Neo-Cons when there is a threat, credible or otherwise, that the US governmentis going to take their firearms.
Movie theaters review gun policies after Colorado shootings (“The men didn’t think they had done anything wrong: Each was one of the state’s 344,000 handgun carry permit holders. They were told to put their guns in their vehicles, in accordance with theater policy, and then the movie resumed.”)
A screening of “The Dark Knight Rises” in Cookeville., Tenn., was halted on Thursday
after a theater worker reported seeing a moviegoer with a gun.
Too Many Guns in the U.S. — or Too Few?
A rampage shooting at the Youth With a Mission center in Arvada, Colo., the night before had taken two lives and left a third man critically wounded. The crime scene was 70 miles from the Colorado Springs campus of the New Life Church. But the killer had escaped into the snowy night, and one member of the congregation — former Minnesota policewoman Jeanne Assam — had an ominous feeling he might strike again.
What Is More Deadly, Guns or Secular Liberalism
Well here we go again… All those on the Left are chomping at the bit to use this horrific “Batman” mass murder to go after our second amendment Rights. In the lawless reprobate mind it is the “evil” gun that kills people not the psychopaths who use them. The idiotic rational behind the “gun-less” utopian vision is that if we rid the world of all our guns and conservatives who carry guns we will then enter into a world peace and all hold hands as we sing “ I’d Like to Buy the World a Coke”.

Instead of gun control, the Colorado shooting is an argument for us to be armed.
If one patron had a weapon the loss of life could been adverted, at least to an extent.
In this surveillance video, an elderly Florida man was able to prevent the robbery of an Internet cafe.
Having a concealed permit to carry is Bull Sh**.
We have the right to carry arms in a holster, on our side.
It was declared by the Wisconsin Attorney General last year,
publicly in a Milwaukee Newspaper.
If one movie viewing patron had a weapon it could have been prevented.
More and more buildings have signs posted ‘No Weapons, Gun, Knives, etc.etc.. They should have had signs reading.. ‘concealed carry approved for this building.’

News station WRAL has caused outrage amongst gun rights activists by listing address details of firearms owners in Raleigh, North Carolina – prompting critics to complain they are being treated like sex offenders and left open to criminal predation.
Outrage After News Channel Helps Public Identify Gun Owners indoor pistol shooting
In an article about firearms training, a WRAL.com article homes in on the fact that rural areas have a much higher per capita rate of concealed carry permit holders.
The story also mentions efforts to increase regulation on concealed carry permit holders and quotes Gail Neely, executive director of North Carolinians Against Gun Violence, who claims that “concealed weapons permit holders aren’t as law-abiding as they are reputed to be.”
However, the part that really has second amendment proponents up in arms is a searchable box that allows the public to identify where concealed carry permit holders live, by typing in the street name, city, county and zip code.

(“pistols are a seldom-used backup weapon or at best, used for garrison MP work stateside. Why, then, does the civilian populace have it backwards?”) The Fighting Rifle (And Why Your Pistol Is A Backup Weapon)
America is very much a gun culture, and more weapons remain in civilian hands here than just about anywhere on earth, which is a good thing.
We also have a fascination with pistols in this country, with the vast majority of the states having some sort of carry provisions in their laws allowing anyone not prohibited from carrying a pistol on their person.
Some states have open carry while most have concealed carry, and thus a great many Americans are armed with handguns at any given time.
The push for micro-stamping is really a push for national gun registration
Like a storm that returns stronger each time, efforts to push micro-stamping regulations onto gun-owning Americas are here again. And this time around, The New York Times is pushing it, Time magazine is pushing it and other outlets of the same political persuasion are doing their level best to show us how micro-stamping the firing pins in our firearms could reduce crime by miraculous levels overnight.

If you’d really like to depress yourself some evening, watch “Doomsday Preppers” on the National Geographic Channel. The show details the plans of normal, well adjusted people to cope with the aftermath of fiscal collapse, nuclear holocaust, the eruption of Yellowstone, solar flares, and so on.
The New York Times noted with outrage that many of these people were accumulating guns and ammunition in order to defend their 1,500 pounds of MREs and dried brown rice, but stockpiling guns is fine with me. My concern is that most of them seem pretty inexpert with guns. One prepper was counting on a Ruger Number One single-shot which, despite its many splendid qualities, is not what you’d pick to blast the mob at your door. Another managed to shoot off several fingers during a practice session. Yet a third, a resident of the Oligarchy of Bloomberg, took lessons in knife fighting because he was unable to get a gun, ignoring the fact that everyone in the Oligarchy of Bloomberg who wants a gun has one, or several, and when the pistol-waving mob comes to this fellow’s apartment I don’t think that he and his knife will last long.
Worst Case Scenario: The Trayvon Martin Case
At the request of my online editor, I am very hesitantly going to discuss the Trayvon Martin case, only because it has huge teachable potential to anyone thinking about carrying a gun for self defense.
The Trayvon Martin case is just about the ultimate Worst Case Scenario, a “Perfect Storm” if you will when it comes to a concealed carry confrontation (one where the shooter survives). I am not talking about the actual physical confrontation, but rather the aftermath.

George Zimmerman and his wife began carrying handguns after repeated run-ins with a pit bull, and the volunteer neighborhood watchman continued his armed vigil over a gated community in Sanford, Fla., as a rash of burglaries left neighbors frightened, according to a report.
The couple took firearms training courses and got handguns and concealed carry permits in late 2009 — three years before Zimmerman shot unarmed teen Trayvon Martin dead — after a pit bull named Big Boi menaced Shellie Zimmerman near their home, Reuters reported.
