A person who has their firearms stolen is the victim of a crime. To impose upon them the affirmative duty to report same to the Attorney General is an outrage. These people are not criminals, they are victims in that their property has been taken unlawfully.

 

This will lead to thousands of annual prosecutions of people who are claimed not have not reported “within 24 hours” their “alleged knowledge” of the theft. While there are certainly times that knowledge is obvious, such as when someone tears your gun safe off the concrete floor and rips a hole in the room in which it was formerly present to do so, a huge number of firearms are stolen without the person who has them taken being immediately aware of it.

When Congress reconvenes next month, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid is expected to bring gun control back to the Senate floor. If this occurs, I will oppose any legislation that undermines Americans’ constitutional right to bear arms or their ability to exercise this right without being subject to government surveillance.

Restricting Americans’ ability to purchase firearms readily and freely will do nothing to stop national tragedies such as those that happened in Newtown, Conn., and in Aurora, Colo. It will do much to give criminals and potential killers an unfair advantage by hampering law-abiding citizens’ ability to defend themselves and their families.

There are those among gun right’s advocates who believe that having Feinstein’s assault weapons ban tacked onto another (a different) gun control bill, of some kind, will make it easier to pass the Senate.

 

Consider this: “It’s a trap! It’s a non-event. What’s going to happen is they’re going to take another bill, and that could be the veterans’ gun ban and then bring that to the floor,” said Mike Hammond, chief counsel for Gun Owners of America, a pro-Second Amendment group.

 

Hammond said bringing a less controversial bill to the floor will make it easier to find the 60 votes needed to open debate.

 

Hammond said Feinstein’s proposed ban on “assault weapons” will be offered as an amendment to Reid’s bill.

Already we’re seeing problems with early voting which should be done away with altogether. Up until the time when Americans were brain washed with the idea of ‘fast food’ election results, no one had a problem waiting a few days or even a week for the outcome of elections, including president. Honest elections came first – except in cities like Chicago where vote fraud in all forms has been a mainstay for nearly a century. Doesn’t seem to bother the people who live there because nothing has been done to effectively clean it up.

The way that people carried on in 2008, you would have thought we had elected a messiah and not merely a president. Some people who felt that way can be excused because that’s the way Obama was sold to us.

After all, he vowed to lower the oceans, heal the planet and unite all Americans, whatever their class, race, gender or nation of origin.

 

That’s pretty big talk for someone whose singular accomplishment as a member of the Illinois Legislature was to vote in favor of partial-birth abortions, and whose most noteworthy achievement during his two years in Washington was to be named the most liberal member of the Senate, beating out the unholy likes of Ted Kennedy, Barbara Boxer, Hillary Clinton and Harry Reid.

The temperature inside your car can get insanely hot on sunny days, regardless of the temperature outside. When you get to your car and it’s boiling hot, what’s the first thing you do? You lower the windows and blast the air conditioner, right?

 

A convenient feature that’s been around for years, but remains unknown to many car owners, is the ability to lower the windows with the key remote. This allows you to begin cooling your car without having to get in first. Unless the car dealershiptold you about this trick or you happen to read manuals for fun, you may have been unaware of this ages-old trick.

Determined as always to travel the safest, least contentious path to their own re-election, House Speaker John Boehner, Majority leader Eric Cantor and House Majority Whip Kevin McCarthy have decided that the Party will do NOTHING to defund ObamaCare when current, federal funding legislation expires on September 30th.

 

Thirty times over the past two years the House has voted to repeal the President’s “Affordable” Care Act. Of course, on each occasion Republican leaders were secure in the knowledge that the measure had NO chance of passing the Democrat controlled Senate or collecting the signature of Barack Obama. On Wednesday, Ron Paul’s bill to audit the Federal Reserve was overwhelmingly passed by the U.S. House of Representatives. The vote was 327 to 98. You would think that a bill with such overwhelming support would easily become law.

But it won’t, because Barack Obama and the Democrats plan to kill it. Senate Majority Leader Harry Reidhas already said that the Senate will not even consider the bill. But of course if Barack Obama called Harry Reid and told him that he wants this bill to get through the Senate so that he could sign it then Harry Reid would be singing a much different tune.

Sadly, we all know that is not going to happen. Barack Obama’s good buddy Ben Bernanke called the Audit the Fed bill a “nightmare scenario” last week, and Obama is certainly not going to do anything to upset Bernanke – especially this close to the election. Obama needs Bernanke to do everything that he possibly can to stimulate the economy so that Obama will look as good as possible in November. The sad truth is that there is absolutely no chance that the Audit the Fed bill will become law and that is a crying shame.

During an interview with longtime ally, CBS News’ anchor Charlie Rose, Barack Obama (and Michelle) lamented having failed to adequately relate the true extent of the President’s genius to the American public. “The nature of this office is … to tell a story to the American people that gives them a sense of unity and purpose and optimism,” not just “to [think] about getting the policy right” said Obama to the reliably sympathetic Rose.

WASHINGTON—Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid was unambiguous in his response when asked about an ABC World News report that the U.S. Olympic team’s opening ceremony uniforms were made in China rather than by American textile workers.the results for harry reis caricture.

The uniforms, designed by Ralph Lauren, have “made in China” labels on them, the ABC report said.

Mr. Reid said he thought “they should take all the outfits, put them in a big pile and burn them and start all over.”

Not satisfied, the Democratic leader then had a suggestion for what revised uniforms should look like: “If they have to wear nothing but a singlet saying USA on it painted by hand, that’s what they should do.” (See video of this remarks.)

Of course the source of Mr. Reid’s anger was the apparent decision by the U.S. Olympic Committee to order uniforms made in China rather than by workers in America’s struggling textiles industry.

A spokeswoman for Ralph Lauren wasn’t immediately available for comment.

There’s been much speculation about whether the Obama administration has a Plan B ready in case the Supreme Court strikes down all or some of Obamacare. But it’s clear that the White House was ready today when the Court rejected its challenge to the constitutionality of an Arizona law requiring local law enforcement officers, during routine stops, to check the immigration status of anyone they suspect is in the country illegally.
