WFTV has learned charges against George Zimmerman could be getting more serious.

State prosecutors said Zimmerman, a neighborhood watchman, profiled and stalked 17-year-old Trayvon Martin before killing him, so the FBI is now looking into charging him with a hate crime.

CHICAGO, April 22, 2012 – The first Trayvon Martin-related hate crime has just been reported. Is the politically heated rhetoric surrounding the Sanford, Florida case to blame?

For weeks, Rev. Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpton and other prominent political figures have been ratcheting up the rhetoric in the case of Trayvon Martin. Martin is the 17-year-old black teenager who was shot by volunteer neighborhood watch captain George Zimmerman. Zimmerman is of white and Peruvian descent.

Critics have charged that Jackson and Sharpton have been using the Trayvon Martin case to fan the flames of U.S. racial discord and have intentionally focused their venom on the racial divisions between the white and black communities – Zimmerman’s mixed racial heritage notwithstanding.

Last month, Jackson launched what he termed the “Trayvon Martin-voter registration movement” with a goal of registering 1 million voters in Florida.

The founder of the Rainbow PUSH Coalition also expressed anger after bond was set Friday at $150,000 for Zimmerman’s release.

“We are disappointed that the bond was set so low,” said Jackson. “Tomorrow Mr. Zimmerman’s freedom will be restored. This decision cheapens black life.”

Hayes and a 15-year-old Chicago boy walked up behind the 19-year-old man victim and pinned his arms to his side, police said. Hayes, 18, then picked up a large tree branch, pointed it at the man and said, “Empty your pockets, white boy.”

“We have discovered that just about anything you can say about Obama, besides ‘Messiah’ is some sort of racist code word. Two years it was revealed that calling him a socialist is racist. This week we learned that calling him European is also a slur. Calling him a ‘European Socialist’ might just qualify as a hate crime.

This isn’t really about racism. If it were, much more overtly racist comments made in private by top Democrats like Harry ‘light-skinned with no negro dialect’ Reid or Bill ‘Obama would be getting us coffee’ Clinton, would have lasted for more than a 5 minute news cycle of outrage. It’s about the political uses of race. The bigotry farming that makes racism into a constant part of the political landscape.

Today USA Today ran, “Is burning Quran a hate crime or a free speech issue?”

When Terry Jones’s church decided to burn the Koran, I believe they felt moved to express a bold truth.

On the other hand, by “protecting” the Judeo-Christian Bible even as it denounces, denies and contradicts it, Islam institutionally propagates the craftiest of deceptions.

In Eden, the serpent, being more crafty than any of the wild animals the LORD God had made, said, “Did God really say, ‘You must not eat from any tree in the garden’?”

Did he actually lie? No, he manipulated and deceived Adam and Eve into believing a tiny falsehood about God:

That God was withholding his best from them. The Enemy planted and cultivated a subtle fear, feeding the tiniest bit of pride by asking an inflammatory question.Going further, the successful deceiver next indoctrinates the deceived using a succession of increasingly outlandish lies.

This was perhaps best noted by Adolph Hitler who said, “By means of shrewd lies, unremittingly repeated, it is possible to make people believe that heaven is hell and hell heaven. The greater the lie, the more readily it will be believed.” This progression leads to the downfall of nations, cultures and societies. It tends to accelerate most under powerfully charismatic people appealing to our selfish natures.

This may be physical gratification, our personal rights, greed, justice, and self-righteousness. It decelerates under successful messages encouraging self-sacrifice and unconditional love.

NEW YORK, New York — In a series of events which has caused wide notice and a storm of protests, the government of Mexico, through its consulate in New York in the United Nations, has announced it will begin patrolling the New York City borough of Staten Island to “safeguard” its nationals there.

The actions of Mexico come after a series of incidents the Mexican government terms “bias attacks.”

Ironically, these so-called “hate crimes” have been perpetrated by blacks and Asians, indicative of rising tensions between various ethnic groups in the U.S. The Catholic Examiner and NBC New York both reported the Mexican government’s intention to mount surveillance, patrol and police in and around the Staten Island community of Port Richmond, which in recent years has seen a large influx of Mexican illegal immigrants.Since the Examiner’s coverage, however, councilor officials, city hall and the local press have begun to carefully de-emphasize any possible role of Mexican law enforcement or military in efforts to secure the neighborhood.
