According to a recently released top secret document by NSA whistleblower Edward Snowden, the NSA intercepted phone calls and emails of representatives of a staggering 197 countries during a December 2009 United Nations conference in Copenhagen, Denmark.

It appears the NSA was actually sharing information with the Chinese!

I, myself, have fallen prey in the past to the hype surrounding the latest “expert” opinion on the direction that this crippled nation is heading, especially the timing of its demise. Here is the conclusion that I have reached about this “inevitable” collapse event.

Not long ago, Barack Obama gave a highly publicized speech in which he disparaged bloggers as a class of people who, along with lobbyists and talk-radio hosts, ought to be ignored.

*****

Just what Obama holds against bloggers was never entirely clear, especially since he is known to occasionally meet with us (or so I have read). Today, Obama has a blog item of his own in the Huffington Post, urging Congress to pass the Employment Non-Discrimination Act. A consideration of its polemical merits makes clear the source of his mysterious resentment of bloggers: rank envy.

Progressives expose their true nature when their slowly heated pot is categorically rejected by the frogs. The mirage of \”politics as usual,\” bipartisanship, and collegiality lasts only as long as men acquiesce in their own enslavement. Of course, a little public disagreement here and there is good for progressive optics, as it perpetuates the comforting illusion of open debate. But what if that little disagreement turns into an all-out refusal to go gently into that good night?

We may have reached the end of an era. We haven’t seen anything official, but Google hasn’t been updating Toolbar PageRank, and hasn’t said that it is not killing it. In fact, earlier this year, the company hinted that a time could come that they would kill it. Now, there’s nothing but virtual tumbleweeds in PageRank land.

Do you think Google should kill Toolbar PageRank or does this still provide value? Share your opinion in the comments.

Google has not updated its Toolbar PageRank since early February, and that was the only time they’ve done so all year. It’s unlike Google to go so long without updating it, which is leading some to wonder if Google is no longer going to provide this information.

Barry Scwhartz at Search Engine Roundtable pointed this out after noticing some chatter about it in the WebmasterWorld forum.

The Washington Free Beacon Tuesday reported that Jack Hunter, who serves as social media director for Paul, once worked as a radio shock jock for two different stations in Charleston, S.C., advocating for secession and the Confederacy.

Hunter, who helped write Paul’s book “The Tea Party Goes to Washington,” called himself the “Southern Avenger” and wore a Confederate flag mask at public appearances. “People are calling him a white supremacist,” Paul said in an interview with the Huffington Post. “If I thought he was a white supremacist, he would be fired immediately. Elisabeth Hasselbeck is being fired from ABC’s “The View” because market researchers found that her conservative views were out of touch with the show’s audience, according to a report in Us Weekly.

The magazine, citing unnamed sources, reported Friday that Hasselbeck will be leaving the show along with Joy Behar, an outspoken far-left liberal who quit the show by choice.

“The viewers they polled all said she was too extreme and right-wing,” a show insider whose name was not reported told UsMagazine.com about Hasselbeck Friday. “People did not watch the show because of Elisabeth. So they told her yesterday her contract would not be renewed.”

Shocked journalists this afternoon were quick to react to the Drudge Report’s controversial header photo comparing President Obama to Hitler and Stalin. The item linked to a Weekly Standard article reporting that President Obama was willing to address the gun issue with an executive order.

“Hitler and Stalin!” exclaimed BuzzFeed Editor Ben Smith on Twitter alerting most of his followers by linking directly to the Drudge Report.

“Our right is nuttier than your right (US to 193 countries),” wrote the Al-Monitor’s Laura Rozen.

ROBERT F. KENNEDY JR: There’s two things happening. One is the influence of big money in politics, and the other is the right-wing control of the American media, particularly starting with Fox News. 95 percent of talk radio in our country is right-wing, and you need, according to Pew survey, and you, so a whole section of our country that that’s what they’re hearing. SHAMEFUL MEDIA SPINS, SHILLS AND RACE-BAITS THE GOP CONVENTION

Last night, with the help of my colleagues Tony Lee and Warner Todd Huston, we tried our best to cover the corrupt media’s worst moments during their coverage of last night’s GOPconvention. What it boiled down to, though, was exactly what you would expect from a hopelessly corrupt institution determined to drag a failed president over the finish line: Unconscionable race-baiting, cynicism, and the use of Hurricane Isaac to selectively ignore some of the conventions best moments for the GOP. For instance, CNN refused to broadcast speeches given by Republican governors in crucial swing states. You’ll also read how ABC News released a hit poll just as Ann Romney took the stage and NBC’s Brian Williams opened the night with RAPE!

Does he believe that the upcoming election could actually spark rampant civil unrest inside the United States? The conditions are certainly ripe for civil unrest in this country.

A multitude of recent polls and surveys have shown that Americans are angrier and more frustrated than ever. Sadly, we are taking a lot of that anger and frustration out on each other. America is more divided today than at any other time since the Civil War era. The left absolutely hates Mitt Romney the Republicans, and the right absolutely hates Barack Obama and the Democrats. If you doubt this, just surf political blogs for a few hours and read the comments that people leave. This country is a boiling cauldron of hatred and anger and all it is going to take is just the right “spark” to cause all of this hatred and anger to absolutely explode.

Media Hastily Erace Articles About Malia Obama’s Appearance at One Direction Concert

May 27, 2012 1 comment

Several media outlets have again pulled or edited already-published articles about the activities of President Barack Obama’s daughter, even though the stories appeared to pose no active security risk to the first family.

On Thursday, 14-year-old Malia Obama attended a concert by the British boy band One Direction at the Patriot Center in Fairfax, Va., flanked by Secret Service agents who attempted unsuccessfully to blend in with the crowd of mostly pre-teen girls.

At one point during the concert, the boy bands’ teen heartthrobs sang, “You’re insecure, Dunno what for, You’re turning heads when you walk through the door” — words that managed to take on some meaning for Malia, who looked less than enthused by the presence of multiple middle-aged federal agents at her side.

On Friday, the story was picked up by the liberal website The Huffington Post, which ran the headline, “Malia Obama, One Direction Fan: First Daughter Attends Boy Band Concert with Secret Service in Tow.”

Within hours, the entire post was scrubbed from the site without explanation, and the post’s URL was hastily changed to direct users to the site’s celebrity section.

The next day, news aggregation website Buzzfeed ran a story on the event, accompanied by a picture of Malia in attendance at the concert. The headline was “Malia Obama Goes to the One Direction Concert with the Secret Service,” and the story’s picture showed Malia standing awkwardly in front of a scowling male Secret Service agent, with what appear to be two additional female Secret Service agents standing to her right.

DHS Stonewalls Congress on Social Media Spying (“Homeland Security reps refuse to name superiors who ordered federal agency to analyze online dissent”)

Homeland Security reps refuse to name superiors who ordered federal agency to analyze online dissent

(PaulWatson) – Representatives from the Department of Homeland Security speaking today at a Congressional hearing regarding the federal agency’s monitoring of social media networks and news websites, including the Drudge Report, were evasive about who ordered them to look for reports or comments that “reflect adversely on the U.S. government and the DHS.”

The hearing was prompted as a result of the Electronic Privacy Information Center obtaining 300 documents through a Freedom of Information Act request which detailed how DHS had hired an outside contractor, General Dynamics Advanced Information Systems, to monitor social media outlets along with a list of websites, on a “24/7/365 basis,” in order to uncover “any media reports that reflect adversely on the U.S. Government and the Department of Homeland Security.”

The list of websites the DHS requested be monitored for such content included the Drudge Report, Facebook, Twitter, Huffington Post, and GoogleBlogSearch, a service that allows millions of individual blogs to be searched for keywords.

Prison Planet.com » The U.S. Hands the Terrorists a Big Win

December 13, 2011 3 comments

Top counter-terrorism officials have said for years that indefinite detention increases terrorism.

As Huffington Post notes today, the indefinite detention bill passed by the Senate last week hands the terrorists a big win:

A measure that Congress will likely pass this week allowing indefinite detentions of Americans by the U.S. military will mark a significant loss in the war on terrorism, says a retired admiral who ran the Navy legal system.

***

To Ret. Adm. John Hutson, who was Judge Advocate General of the Navy from 1997 to 2000 and is dean emeritus of the University of New Hampshire School of Law, the idea that the United States is chipping away at one of its fundamental principles of civilian law enforcement is a win for terrorists.

“The enemy is just laughing over this, because they will have gotten another victory,” Hutson told The Huffington Post. “There’ll be one more victory. There won’t be any bloodshed or immediate bloodshed, there’s not a big explosion, except in a metaphorical sense, but it is a victory nonetheless for the enemy. And it’s a self-inflicted wound.”

Which American citizen will Obama kill next?

October 2, 2011 1 comment

Barack Obama ordered the assassination of two American citizens. No one is arguing that they weren’t bad, but this is a terrible precedent.

An American President now can order the assassination of American citizens.

An American President can now suspend any American’s constitutional rights at will.

Think about that.

Why did we give Timothy McVeigh a trial?

Why don’t we just kill Case Anthony? We all know she’s guilty.

Why do we even bother having trials?

Over at Huffington Post there is division on this issue. They quote Jane Harman:

“It’s tricky that he was a U.S. citizen, but he clearly stated his intention to kill Americans and the Justice Department thoroughly vetted the legal issues and this strike was within the law,”

The Justice Department vetted this? Holder vetted this?

That borders on insanity. This is the same Holder “Justice Department” who put an end to the Black Panther intimidation case. The is the same Holder “Justice Department” which intentionally sent weapons into Mexico. This is the same Justice Department that sues states for attempting to protect their borders. This is the same “Justice Department” that wants a civil trial for Khalid Sheik Muhammamed.

HuffPo is allowing no comments that question Obama’s decision to assassinate an American citizen. I suspect that even they know how wrong this was.

What is the threshold for ordering the death of American citizens?

Joe Biden likened Tea Party members to terrorists.

Vice President Joe Biden joined House Democrats in lashing tea party Republicans Monday, accusing them of having “acted like terrorists” in the fight over raising the nation’s debt limit, according to several sources in the room.

Biden was agreeing with a line of argument made by Rep. Mike Doyle (D-Pa.) at a two-hour, closed-door Democratic Caucus meeting.

“We have negotiated with terrorists,” an angry Doyle said, according to sources in the room. “This small group of terrorists have made it impossible to spend any money.”

Biden, driven by his Democratic allies’ misgivings about the debt-limit deal, responded: “They have acted like terrorists.”

Golly, if they’re terrorists, then Obama can have them killed, right?

In a bid to ‘squash negative stories’ about Barack Obama that appear on the Internet, the White House has hired a dedicated propagandist whose role will be to savage people who tell “lies” about the President, in a chilling reminder of how prosecutors threatened people with jail time during the 2008 campaign if they criticized Obama.

“The Obama administration has created and staffed a new position tucked inside their communications shop for helping coordinate rapid response to unfavorable stories and fostering and improving relations with the progressive online community,” reports the Huffington Post.

The man tasked with the role of “disseminating push back” against Obama’s online critics by direct order of the White House will be Jesse Lee, a blogger who has previously put out White House spin in response to claims made by Glenn Beck.

“The post is a new one for this White House. Rapid response has been the purview of the Democratic National Committee (and will continue to be). Lee’s hire, however, suggests that a portion of it will now be handled from within the administration. It also signals that the White House will be adopting a more aggressive engagement in the online world in the months ahead.”………………….

Open challenge to new White House propaganda czar: Let’s talk ‘Gunwalker’

Open challenge to new White House propaganda czar: Let’s talk ‘Gunwalker’:

““The Obama administration has created and staffed a new position tucked inside their communications shop for helping coordinate rapid response to unfavorable stories and fostering and improving relations with the progressive online community,” The Huffington Post’s Sam Stein writes.

‘’This week, Jesse Lee will move from the new media department into a role in the communications department as Director of Progressive Media & Online Response,’ read an internal memo from Communications Director Dan Pfeiffer, provided to The Huffington Post,’” Stein explains.

“Lee is a personal friend of Stein,” HuffPo discloses.

Well, that explains the puff piece.

Just so we’re clear: Your tax dollars are going to fund a propaganda effort to give talking points to the mainstream media.

Wait—that’s not fair. This specifically says he’s dealing with “the progressive online community.”

Sorry. With “Tingles” claiming Obama is the new Kennedy and Bill Clinton is the voice of God, it’s hard to keep the two compartmentalized.

And about that “progressive community”—isn’t the Congressional Progressive Caucus closely aligned with subversives like the Democratic Socialists of America, itself an affiliate of Socialist International?”

“It’s good to be king, particularly if you are a president who wants to impose more infringements on that which shall not be infringed” ~ Forcible citizen disarmament by fiat: When separation of powers gets in the way

It’s good to be king, particularly if you are a president who wants to impose more infringements on that which shall not be infringed, and Congress is disinclined to play along.

As President of the United States, that would be or should be a problem, because the separation of powers built into the structure of our government splits power among the three branches of government and no–not Sen. Schumer’s “three branches of government”, but for a king who rules by decree, it’s as easy as, “Stroke of the pen.

Law of the Land. Kinda cool.”According to the Huffington Post‘s Sam Stein, that’s what King Barack the First . . .er, President Obama is looking at now:Faced with a Congress hostile to even slight restrictions of Second Amendment rights, the Obama administration is exploring potential changes to gun laws that can be secured strictly through executive action, administration officials say.

This will doubtless greatly please New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg, whose Mayors Against Illegal Guns group suggested just such a course of action well over a year ago. Salon magazine also likes the idea, as discussed here back in January:

How President Obama plays media like a fiddle BARF

Barack Obama was one sad sack of a president—his agenda repudiated by midterm voters, his political judgment scorned by commentators, his future darkened by a growing belief he might be a one-time president. In early February, Obama is master of the moment—his polls on the upswing, his political dexterity applauded by pundits, his status as Washington’s dominant figure unchallenged even by Republicans. This three-month metamorphosis says something about Obama’s survival skills, but the turnabout says even more about the mainstream media: Obama is playing the press like a fiddle. He is doing it by exploiting some of the most longstanding traits among reporters who cover politics and government—their favoritism for politicians perceived as ideologically centrist and willing to profess devotion to Washington’s oft-honored, rarely practiced civic religion of bipartisanship.

Time’s Mark Halperin has hailed Obama as “magnetic,” “distinguished,” and “inspiring” – in one story. ABC’s Christiane Amanpour saw “Reaganesque” optimism and “Kennedyesque” encouragement – all in one speech. Howard Fineman, the former Newsweek columnist who now writes for the Huffington Post, said conductor Obama was now leading a “love train” through D.C.Excerpt Read more at politico.com …

Palin Refuses to Repudiate Beck [Whining Lefty Alert]

November 2, 2010 Leave a comment

David Brock, the C.E.O. of the liberal group Media Matters, said in an interview with the Caucus that he was “disappointed” with Sarah Palin’s refusal to repudiate the Fox News host Glenn Beck.Mr. Brock made that request this week in an article on Huffington Post and in an interview on MSNBC. Mr. Brock said Ms. Palin, the former vice presidential nominee and former Alaska governor, could help stop what he said was Mr. Beck’s incitement of violence on his show.

Instead, Ms. Palin called Mr. Beck during his radio show this morning and the pair mocked Mr. Brock’s request. “I stand with you, Glenn,” Ms. Palin told Mr. Beck during a phone call that was played on the air.In an interview later, Mr. Brock said that he was “disappointed in the answer. I actually thought when I left the office last night that there was a serious chance she would address this in a serious way.”In a separate statement, Mr. Brock said Ms. Palin “now associates herself with acts of violence and the insane conspiracy theories and hate speech behind them.”A representative for Mr. Beck declined to comment.

Peter DeFazio D: investigate impeachment of Chief Justice John Roberts.

October 23, 2010 Leave a comment

With Democrats increasingly outraged over the Supreme Court’s Citizen United decision that allowed unlimited corporate spending in elections — a change conservatives have been more successful at taking advantage of — a Democratic congressman is raising the prospect of impeaching the Supreme Court’s chief justice over the issue.

“I mean, the Supreme Court has done a tremendous disservice to the United States of America,” Rep. Peter DeFazio D-Ore. told The Huffington Post on Tuesday. “They have done more to undermine our democracy with their Citizens United decision than all of the Republican operatives in the world in this campaign. They’ve opened the floodgates, and personally, I’m investigating articles of impeachment against Justice Roberts for perjuring during his Senate hearings, where he said he wouldn’t be a judicial activist, and he wouldn’t overturn precedents.

“In his 2005 confirmation hearings, Roberts famously said, “Judges and justices are servants of the law, not the other way around. Judges are like umpires. Umpires don’t make the rules; they apply them. The role of an umpire and a judge is critical. They make sure everybody plays by the rules. But it is a limited role. Nobody ever went to a ball game to see the umpire.”According to DeFazio, Roberts hasn’t stood by his own doctrine. He pointed to former Justice John Paul Stevens’s dissent in the case, in which he said the Citizens United case was not properly brought before the Supreme Court. “This procedure is unusual and inadvisable for a court,” Stevens said of the process.

“Our colleagues’ suggestion that ‘we are asked to reconsider Austin and, in effect, McConnell,” ante, at 1, would be more accurate if rephrased to state that ‘we have asked ourselves’ to reconsider those cases.”

The Big Wall Street Banks Have Found A New Way To Strangle The American People: Predatory Property Tax Collection

October 21, 2010 Leave a comment

It turns out that the big Wall Street banks have found a dirty new way to make loads of cash from U.S. homeowners, and they really, really don’t want to talk about it. So what is this dirty new business? America’s biggest financial institutions have become property tax collectors, and it is extremely lucrative. From coast to coast, the big Wall Street banks are buying up thousands upon thousands of tax liens and are making a killing by socking distressed homeowners with predatory interest, outrageous penalties and almost unbelievable legal fees.

In some areas, the big banks are able to foreclose on these homes in as little as six months. The elderly and the poor are the most common targets of these practices. An absolutely brilliant expose in the Huffington Post has brought these issues to light, and it is creating quite a controversy in the financial world. The big banks are doing nothing illegal here. Local governments are offering to sell thousands of tax liens and somebody is going to end up buying them. But something seems extremely unsavory about the big Wall Street banks capitalizing on the economic downturn that they were so instrumental in causing in such a predatory manner. Today, millions of American families are barely hanging on to their homes by their fingernails.

Millions are out of work and millions of others are barely making enough to put food on the table. Meanwhile, property taxes have absolutely soared in most areas of the nation over the past decade. Many Americans are finding that when that time rolls around they simply do not have a big chunk of extra money to pay a property tax bill.

New Mexico candidate ready for ‘fight’ about eligibility

October 8, 2010 Leave a comment

Steve Pearce, a candidate for Congress in New Mexico, says he wouldn’t mind being “in the fight” over the issue of Barack Obama’s eligibility to be president.

The candidate made the comment in response to a question from a constituent at a public campaign stop, and it is being publicized by Heath Haussamen at the NMPolitics website.

Haussamen used the opportunity to warn that Obama is eligible, is president and a candidate that suggests there still could be unanswered questions would “empower those on the extreme, fringe right who may be willing to resort to violence.”The Haussamen commentary said the comments came at a Sept. 30 meeting in Los Lunas.A video that was posted on the Huffington Post website reveals a woman asking Pearce for his position on whether Obama is eligible, since an ineligible president would create all sorts of questions about the legitimacy of his actions in office.

Pearce said Obama raised the “most significant questions himself” by talking about his travels to Pakistan as a youth, at a time when travel there by U.S. residents was not easy.
