WASHINGTON – Has the biggest press release factory in the world set itself up as a new gatekeeper of political correctness and journalistic propriety?

That’s the question being asked by the leaders of the Beat Obama Committee or BOPAC.

PRWeb, which seemingly indiscriminately distributes press releases from businesses, politicians, bloggers, activists and just about everyone, drew the line at sending out a paid report from BOPAC, explaining that it cited information from WND, which management considered not “credible” and a “biased source of news.”

After days of delay and negotiations with PRWeb management, BOPAC reworked its press release citing other news agencies – and that did the trick.

Delays in getting its press releases out through PRWeb are nothing new, says Robert Mallory of BOPAC – he believes because of bias within the company for Barack Obama.

“BOPAC has been trying to issue press releases in a timely fashion, but our releases continue to be held up and delayed based on ideologically biased treatment from PRWeb’s editorial staff,” he said. “There appears to be a double standard in PRWeb’s treatment of conservative anti-Obama groups versus pro-Obama support and fundraising groups.”

But he does believe there is an opportunity to defeat Obama and, equally importantly, restore the nation to constitutional integrity in 2012.

Despite his avowed non-interest and the fact he may not even be constitutionally eligible to hold the office, Florida U.S. Sen. Marco Rubio is the top choice of Republicans and independents for the vice-presidential slot on the Republican ticket this year, according to a brand-new poll.

Editor’s note: This is another in a series of “WND/WENZEL POLLS” conducted exclusively for WND by the public-opinion research and media consulting company Wenzel Strategies.

Two out of three voters across the political spectrum say they are more likely to support a presidential or congressional candidate who promises to freeze the debt limit and stop borrowing more money; that is, simply stop the nation’s red ink.

The stunning results come as all major GOP candidates have at some point addressed the profligate spending by Barack Obama, under whose direction the U.S. national debt has surged by some $5 trillion – so far.

The sentiment was revealed by the public-opinion research and media consulting company Wenzel Strategies in a poll conducted by telephone for WND Feb. 1-3. It has a margin of error of plus or minus 3.44 percentage points.

Join the campaign to let members of Congress know it’s time to just stop the borrowing.

More than 48 percent of respondents, including 29 percent of the Democrats and nearly 65 percent of the Republicans, said they were much more likely to support a candidate who wants to freeze the debt and stop borrowing. Another 19 percent said they more somewhat more likely.

The dramatic impact of a freeze, because of the demands Obama’s programs have put on the budget, likely could create the need to close down entire federal bureaucracies.

It’s also the direction for the nation advocated by the updated and expanded “No More Red Ink” campaign created by WND founder Joseph Farah.

On the other side of the fence, only 20 percent of the respondents said they were less likely to support such a candidate.

“I am surprised so few in Washington, the Republican political establishment and the pundit class have ever considered this issue before,” said Farah. “When I made that comment, it was as if I suggested Rubio had two heads. His life story is well-known. How could a question of constitutional eligibility have evaded all these folks up until now – especially after what the nation went through with Barack Obama?”

Farah suggested that despite Rubio’s positive attributes, his presence on the ticket would cost Republicans 10 percent of their base because of the eligibility issue. This survey suggests his estimate was very conservative.

WASHINGTON – The Obama administration is preparing to send two of its aircraft carriers back through the Strait of Hormuz and into the Persian Gulf in defiance of Iran’s demand to stay away, and has sent a letter warning Iran of a “red line” against attempts to block the Strait, according to a report from Joseph Farah’s G2 Bulletin.

But a lot of the wind has escaped the letter’s sails because it also seeks direct talks with the Islamic republic.

Analysts say that Iran’s timing to leak information about an appeal for direct talks from Washington is designed to give Tehran an advantage in its posturing with the other countries in the Middle East, now that U.S. troops have left Iraq and the U.S. has a vastly diminished military presence in the region.

Just having such a letter from Washington also gives Tehran a psychological boost among its Arab neighbors.

Could Obama be removed for violations of the Constitution?
