Fox news host Sean Hannity launched a new attack on Democratic Rep. Keith Ellison on Thursday, two days after a heated interview ended with the Fox News host cutting the Minnesota congressman off. …
Hannity stated that Ellison, the first Muslim elected to Congress, was tied to Farrakhan and the late militant leader Khalid Muhammed when he was a law student at the University of Minnesota in the late 1980s and early 1990s. …
Rep. Ellison: GOP ‘basically a bigoted party’
Rep. Keith Ellison (D-Minn.) blasted
Republicans for including a plank in their convention platform targeting Shariah law in an interview with Mother Jones Wednesday, blasting the language as “an expression of bigotry.”
Why Michelle Bachman Is Right to Question Muslim Brotherhood
It started as a letter by five members of the U.S. Congress to various security agencies asking them to investigate whether there was undue influence exercised within the U.S. government by staff influenced by the Muslim Brotherhood.

That request, however, backfired into a furious denunciation of the five, especially Rep. Michelle Bachmann, who is being depicted as a latter-day Joe McCarthy.
Why GOP leaders slur Bachmann, defend Obama
During the GOP’s blatantly rigged 2012 primary season, Rep. Michele Bachmann, R-Minn., distinguished herself as a sincere spokeswoman for the conservative grass-roots constituency the nomination of Mitt Romney will emphatically betray. Just recently she joined with several of her colleagues courageously to demand an investigation into evidence the Obama faction has placed people associated with organizations that promote Islamic jihad and Shariah law into high-level positions in the U.S. government, from which they may be exerting inordinate influence on America’s foreign and national-security policy. Now key members of the elitist faction’s leadership in the Democratic and Republican parties have embarked upon a scurrilous campaign of personal destruction aimed at discrediting Bachmann’s demand.
Their campaign makes use of ad hominem attacks that accuse her of anti-Muslim bigotry and falsely suggest that her apprehension has no factual basis. Yet the ad hominem assault appears to have been launched precisely because Rep. Bachmann capably established the solid basis for her concerns. In a letter to Rep. Keith Ellison, D-Minn., she rebutted his scurrilously false characterizations of her actions with a meticulously footnoted response amply documenting the facts that justify her security concerns.
Spineless John Mccain Denounces Michelle Bachmann over Muslim Brotherhood
John McCain has now denounced Michelle Bachmann for requesting that the State, Homeland Security, Defense and Justice Departments, investigate potential “policies and activities that appear to be the result of influence operations conducted by individuals and organizations associated with the Muslim Brotherhood.”
Michele Bachmann fires off a 16-Page Bombshell to Muslim Congressman, Keith Ellison
Yes, there is a Huma Abedin angle to this story but a certain Muslim Congressman seems to be in the middle of digging himself a bit of a hole.
On July 12th, Rep. Keith Ellison (D-Muslim-MN) sent a two-page letter to the five congressmen who sent five separate letters to five separate Inspectors General on June 13th. The June 13th letters raised serious concerns about Muslim Brotherhood infiltration inside the U.S. Government. Among the concerns raised with the OIG at the State Department are the familial connections of Hillary Clinton’s closest aide – Huma Abedin – to the Muslim Brotherhood.

In a demonstration of pure political pandering regarding the Martin/Zimmerman case, House Democrats excel:
House Democrats said Tuesday they will offer an amendment to push to overturn stand-your-ground self-defense laws in states like Florida.
The amendment, which would withhold some grants from states that have such laws, will come as part of the House’s debate on the Commerce Department spending bill.
One of the sponsors says it would be no different than withholding highway funds from states that don’t require seat belt use in cars.
“‘Shoot-first’ laws have already cost too many lives. In Florida alone, deaths due to self-defense have tripled since the law was enacted. Federal money shouldn’t be spent supporting states with laws that endanger their own people,” said Reps. Raul Grijalva of Arizona and Keith Ellison of Minnesota, the two Democrats who are offering the legislation.

The Congressional Progressive Caucus has announced it will introduce legislation designed to strip Americans of the right to defend themselves. Called “Stop Shoot First Laws,” the amendment to the Commerce, Justice, Science Appropriations bill under consideration in the House would deny states federal funding allocated under section 505 of the Omnibus Crime Control and Safe Streets Act of 1968 if they continue to allow citizens to defend themselves.Congressional Democrats Introduce Amendment to Outlaw Self Defense 120508 grijalva ellison apDemocrats Raul Grijalva asnd Keith Ellison.“Shoot first laws have already cost too many lives,” said Progressive Caucus co-chairs Keith Ellison and Raul Grijalva upon introducing their amendment.

House Democrats call for bank fee probe (It was the Rat’s Bill that forced the fees)
A member of Congress and other House Democrats are asking the U.S. Attorney General to investigate whether American banks have illegally gotten together to raise fees charged to consumers for banking services.
Rep. Peter Welch of Vermont, the Democratic Chief Deputy Whip in the House of Representatives, told reporters Thursday he has sent a letter to Attorney General Eric Holder urging him to explore whether banks have engaged in what’s called “price signaling,” a tacit agreement not to compete on matters such as the strategy and implementation of what consumers must pay for services.
Welch’s letter was co-signed by Reps. John Conyers (D-Mich.), Raul Grijalva (D-Ariz.), Keith Ellison (D-Minn.) and Michael Honda (D-Calif.).
Ellison said Bank of America’s (BAC, Fortune 500) recent announcement to raise the monthly fee for using a debit card to $5 “may be a signal to others that, ‘hey, lift up your prices and we’ll all just do it,’ but I think that’s why we need the AG to inspect and investigate to find out whether the consumer’s interest is being served.”
At a news conference on Capitol Hill, Welch declined to illustrate how to distinguish between the normal business practice of charging what the market will bear and illegal collusion, which he says could be a violation of federal antitrust laws.

Dem Congressman Keith Ellison: Regulations Create Jobs
Rep. Keith Ellison (D-Minn.) tells MSNBC regulations create jobs because a business will have to hire people to help them comply with the new requirement.
“I think the answer is no,” Ellison said when asked if he believes regulations kill jobs. “And here is why: When we talked about increasing fuel efficiency standards, the industry responded, and they need engineers and designers and manufacturers, and they need actually more people to help respond to the new requirement.”
“I believe if the government says, look, we have got to reduce our carbon footprint, you will kick into gear a whole number of people that know how to do that or have ideas about that, and that will be a job engine. I understand what you mean, because if anything adds a cost to a business, you could assume that that will diminish that business’s ability to hire. But I don’t think that’s actually right. I think what businesses want is customers and what — if they are selling product, if they have a product to sell they will do well even if they have some new regulations to meet,” the Congressman said.
Rep. Ellison tells MSNBC that he is against Republican attempts to defund the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) because doing so would “make us sicker and add to heart disease as well as everything else.”

Rep. Keith Ellison (D-Muslim Brotherhood) complains about misunderstanders of Islam in U.S.
“I’m not sure I understand it myself”
When Ellison speaks about people misunderstanding Islam, he doesn’t mean people like Naser Abdo, the would-be second Fort Hood jihad mass murderer; or Khalid Aldawsari, the would-be jihad mass murderer in Lubbock, Texas; or Muhammad Hussain, the would-be jihad bomber in Baltimore; or Mohamed Mohamud, the would-be jihad bomber in Portland; or Nidal Hasan, the successful Fort Hood jihad mass-murderer; or Faisal Shahzad, the would-be Times Square jihad mass-murderer; or Abdulhakim Mujahid Muhammad, the Arkansas military recruiting station jihad murderer; or Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab, the would-be Christmas airplane jihad bomber; or so many other jihad murderers and would-be murderers. He doesn’t explain whether or not those men and others like them understand Islam properly. The people he has in mind are those who doubt, even in the face of all the evidence that these men have provided and so much more, that Islam is a Religion of Peace™.
Also, this VOA News puff piece fails to mention, not surprisingly, that Ellison accepted $13,350 from the Muslim American Society to go on a pilgrimage to Mecca.
And what is the Muslim American Society? The Muslim Brotherhood. “In recent years, the U.S. Brotherhood operated under the name Muslim American Society, according to documents and interviews. One of the nation’s major Islamic groups, it was incorporated in Illinois in 1993 after a contentious debate among Brotherhood members.” — Chicago Tribune, 2004, via the Muslim Brotherhood’s English-language website, Ikhwanweb.

The Curious Case of Keith “Crybaby” Ellison, CAIR and the Nation of Islam’s Man in Congress
Just who is Representative Keith Ellison Democrat, MN-05?
Is he one of two Muslim Congressmen?
Is he the heel to Rep. Peter King R-NY, whose Homeland Security hearings on the radicalization of American Muslims have been smeared as a “witch hunt”?
Is he the Congressman who—in his best Joseph Welch impression—recounted a tale of which some are questioning the veracity of Mohammed Salman Hamdani, a 23-year-old Pakistan-born American who sacrificed his life saving civilians from the 2001 Islamic terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center buildings
Or is he a radical himself, with ties to radical Islam himself?
, yes, yes, and unfortunately, yes.

Tears Help Radical Rep. Ellison Deflect Scrutiny of His Own Record
Rep. Keith Ellison (D-Minn.) got some headlines for breaking down in tears during the Homeland Security Committee hearing on Thursday, but another witness, Abdirizak Bihi, Director of the Somali Education and Social Advocacy Center in Minneapolis, offered something more newsworthy—an indictment of Ellison himself. Although he didn’t identify Ellison by name, Bihi’s criticism of local leaders, religious and political, was seen as partly a reference to Ellison being an obstacle to finding out what…..

The Left’s Peter King Lynch Mob
Liberals complain that the hearings on American Muslims were a racist blame game. But they trashed anyone trying to tell the truth about the radicalization of Islam. In the headlines, two minutes have defined the four-hour hearing of the House Homeland Protection Committee on radicalization of Muslim American community:
Minnesota Democratic Rep. Keith Ellison breaking down, sobbing, as he told the story of 9/11 Muslim paramedic, Mohammed Salman Hamdani, saying some people tried to “smear” Hamdani’s name before his remains were found, “solely because of his Islamic faith.” “Keith Ellison cries,” read a caption at conservative website, the Daily Caller. “Rep. Ellison breaks down during hearing,” read the Washington Post headline.
“FEAR THY NEIGHBOR,” flashed on the screen as liberal MSNBC host Chris Matthews played the Ellison video and took committee chairman Rep. Peter King R., N.Y. to task for bashing Muslims.Article – Nomani King Hearings Rep. The hearing didn’t amount to the much-anticipated slam against Muslims but rather it devolved, ironically, into a figurative lynch mob by leading liberals on civil rights and women’s rights against truth-tellers on radicalization within the Muslim community. It was horrifying to witness.

Majority Favor Muslim Radicalization Hearings
Naturally, there are many on the Left that would like you to believe that this is all just a charade or a mad dash to single out Muslims. However, according to King, the hearings will serve to protect the citizens of the country.
Apparently, a majority of Americans also believe so. According to a new Gallup poll, over 50% side with the New York representative. When asked if the hearings were appropriate or not:

Sounds like there’s friction inside the newly bipartisan Congressional Black Caucus.
Florida Rep. Allen West, a freshman Tea Party-backed Republican, said that Rep. Keith Ellison is “someone that really does represent the antithesis of the principles upon which this country was established.”
West made the remark when asked a question referring to Ellison’s religion. Ellison, also a member of the Congressional Black Caucus, was the first Muslim elected to Congress.
