First Amendment attorney joins effort to shut down Righthaven

Las Vegas First Amendment attorney Allen Lichtenstein has joined the initiative to shut down copyright infringement lawsuit filer Righthaven LLC.

Lichtenstein said Friday he’s signed on to represent the receiver who claims to control Righthaven and who plans to put an end to Righthaven pursuing appeals of its legal setbacks.

Judge strips Righthaven of rights to 278 copyrights and its trademark

Like a gunfighter with no bullets, Las Vegas copyright company Righthaven LLC no longer has any copyrights to sue over.A federal judge in Las Vegas on Monday stripped Righthaven of whatever interests it has in its 278 federal copyright registrations as well as its trademark.

Wynn’s Rant: One Among Many

Business: Las Vegas CEO Steve Wynn drew attention for a boardroom rant denouncing the intolerable business climate fostered by the White House. He’s hardly the first. What’s happening is emblematic of a bigger problem.

In a Monday conference call, the casino magnate credited with revitalizing Las Vegas blasted President Obama, declaring him “the greatest wet blanket to business, progress and job creation in my lifetime.”

The blast was remarkable for two reasons: Wynn has been a staunch supporter of the Obama administration from the beginning and still considers himself a Democrat. But even more remarkable, it’s been out of character for CEOs such as Wynn to express their views in such blunt terms on political matters.

“A lot of people don’t want to say that,” he said. “They’ll say, ‘Oh God, don’t be attacking Obama.’ Well, this is Obama’s deal, and it’s Obama that’s responsible for this fear in America,” said Wynn. “The guy keeps making speeches about redistribution, and maybe ‘we ought to do something to businesses that don’t invest or (are) holding too much money.’ We haven’t heard that kind of talk except from pure socialists.”

Business is being hammered, he said. “And I’m telling you that the business community in this country is frightened to death of the weird political philosophy of the president of the United States.”

Wynn’s words resonate because America’s weak economic growth and high unemployment can be laid in large part to the inexperience of this president and his just-as-callow advisers.

In such a climate, it’s no surprise that executive outbursts are erupting like lava from scorched earth. Wynn’s remarks echo those on a lengthening list of CEOs including:

Steve Wynn Annihilates Barack Obama

During the just completed Wynn earnings calls we witnessed what is without doubt the most blistering and scathing critique of Obama’s administration to date by anybody in the public domain.

From the call transcript:

I believe in Las Vegas, I think its best days are ahead of it, but I’m afraid to do anything in the current political environment in the United States. You watch television and see what’s going on on this this debt ceiling issue. And what I consider to be a total lack of leadership from the President, and nothing will get fixed until the President himself steps up and wrangles both parties in Congress. But everybody is so political, so focused on holding their job for the next year, that the discussion in Washington is nauseating.

And I’m saying it bluntly that this administration is the greatest wet blanket to business and progress and job creation in my lifetime. And I can prove it and I could spend the next three hours giving you examples of all of us in this marketplace that are frightened to death about all the new regulations, our health care costs escalate. Regulations coming from left and right. A President that seems, you know — that keeps using that word redistribution.

Well, my customers and the companies that provide the vitality for the hospitality and restaurant industry, in the United States of America, they’re frightened of this administration. And it makes you slow down and not invest your money. Everybody complains about how much money is on the side in America. You bet. And until we change the tempo and the conversation from Washington, it’s not going to change.

Harry Reid’s victory may have been due to violation of federal campaign laws

Harry Reid’s victory over Sharron Angle this past Tuesday may have had a great deal to do with the senator’s campaign breaking not only federal campaign law, but, just to make things worse, criminal law also.

According to the Justice Department itself, as recently as this past Friday, it is currently looking over a complaint that Angle’s lawyer has filed, demanding that Reid be investigated for what appears to be coordination between his campaign and a corporation, Harrah’s casino in Las Vegas.

The complaint is based on damning e-mails that were exchanged between executives at Harrah’s casino and a staffer working for the Reid campaign. If the allegations are proven true, it may confirm what some people suspected after Reid’s surprise, come-from-behind win he was consistently down in the polls before last Tuesday’s voting. Namely, that Reid did a lot more than just get all his supporters to the polls in a magical, last-effort push.

Did you know that the SEIU represents the voting machine technicians in Clark County Las Vegas, Nevada? Is it any surprise, as we noted earlier today, that there was a voting glitch in Clark County, Nevada? The glitch caused Harry Reid’s name to be automatically checked on the ballot before voters had indicated who were they were supporting.

According to Joyce Ferrara who was an eyewitness to this strange ballot ordeal, the problem was widespread, “One person that’s a fluke. Two, that’s strange. But several within a five minute period of time — that’s wrong.”It is particularly troubling that Clark County has put the uber left-wing SEIU Local 1107 in charge of their voting machines.

Angle Targets Obama, Not Reid, in New Ad

Republican challenger Sharron Angle rolled out a harsh welcome for President Obama, who dropped into Las Vegas last night in a desperate bid to save Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid.

The ad features Obama two years ago lamenting the crumbling economy.“In 2008, we were promised change we could believe in,” the ad says starkly as a crowd can be heard chanting “Obama! Obama!” in the background.

“Then Harry Reid and the president got to work,” the ad says, as scenes flash on screen showing Reid and Obama yukking it up, campaigning together, waving to audiences, smiling and embracing.

Since then, things have only gotten worse — especially in Nevada, which now suffers the highest bankruptcy and foreclosure rates in the country and 14.4 percent unemployment.In Las Vegas, unemployment is 15 percent.

Just this week we heard Harry Reid in a speech in Nevada comparing Obama to the Chilean Miners in his focus and heroism. “It was like the Chilean miners, but he, being the man he is, rolled up his sleeves and said “I am going to get us out of this hole,”

Sen. Harry Reid D-NV said in Las Vegas on Sunday. Is Obama going to be compared to Mother Theresa next week?

Obama is trying to paint a bigger than life movie action film for democrats and independents to respond to at the mid terms.

In one of his recent mid term pitch talks he said “the Empire is striking back.”

Think about this statement for a minute.

Just what does ‘the Empire’ mean in his mind? The empire is ‘the people’ apparently, the ‘scared, fearful, non objective people’ who are responding against him out of stress. That would explain our actions and his lowering poll numbers right?…..WRONG!

Obama offers the nation absurd statements on the verge of the mid terms, Axelrod and Obama are promising more jobs next year, and warning people that the ‘Empire is striking back.’ Darth Vader is not only back and very angry, but hundreds of millions of Darth Vaders are also mobilized and not happy. Obama can call us whatever he wants.

We know the truth. Obama is the real Darth Vader and is trying to turn us into an evil empire. We aren’t the empire at all, he, his czars, progressive leftists and congress are.
