On Friday, the Los Angeles Times posted an article attempting to define a domestic terrorist movement consisting of as many as 300,000 Americans. Some are even labeled as non-violent “paper terrorists”.

A million dollar reward was offered by the LAPD for information leading to the arrest and conviction of Christopher Dorner. This story was published in the LA Times on 10 February, 2013.

The maid that surprised Dorner and told the police where he had been hiding was instrumental in ending the manhunt.

However, the report said that the reward would be for information leading to the “arrest and conviction” of Dorner. It was always highly doubtful that Dorner would ever be convicted, because it was highly doubtful that Dorner would ever be captured alive. Will the unnamed maid who escaped from Dorner’s bonds and whose information lead to the end of the manhunt, receive the offered reward? Dorner will never be convicted now.

The RNC’s rule change effectively disenfranchised Republicans supporting anyone other than the Establishment’s man and left 10 of Maine’s 24 delegates locked out of the process, preventing them from casting votes for Ron Paul.

 

Railroaded and rejected, the unseated Maine delegates walked out of the Tampa Bay Times Forum, leaving the convention in the hands of the predetermined winner and his proxies.

 

“It’s a disgusting, disgusting display of a hostile takeover from the top down,” said Maine delegate Ashley Ryan, according to an article in the Los Angeles Times. “It’s an embarrassment,”

The very thought of federal employees with zero law enforcement training roaming across our nation’s transportation infrastructure with the hope of randomly thwarting a domestic terrorist attack makes about as much sense as EPA Administrator Lisa Jackson’s Environmental Justice tour.

In order to help rein in the TSA I introduced H.R. 3608, the Stop TSA’s Reach in Policy Act aka the STRIP Act.

This bill will simply overturn the TSA’s administrative decision by prohibiting any TSA employee who has not received federal law enforcement training from using the title “officer,” wearing a police like uniform or a metal police badge. At its most basic level the STRIP Act is about truth in advertising.

As TSO’s continue to expand their presence beyond our nation’s airports and onto our highways, every American citizen has the right to know that they are not dealing with actual federal law enforcement officers.

Had one Virginia woman known this days before Thanksgiving she may have been able to escape being forcibly raped by a TSO who approached her in a parking lot in full uniform while flashing his badge.

Will the STRIP Act solve every problem facing the TSA? Absolutely not. The STRIP Act seeks to expand upon the work of my colleagues by chipping away at an unnoticed yet powerful overreach of our federal government.

If Congress cannot swiftly overturn something as simple as this administrative decision there will be little hope that we can take steps to truly rein in the TSA on larger issues of concern.

In recent years there have been many movies that have dealt with subject of biological warfare, plagues and pandemics. Movies like Contagion, 28 Days Later, I Am Legend, Outbreak and Twelve Monkeys show the horrifying results of biological warfare. Recent attempts to censor details of controversial influenza experiments that created a highly infectious form of bird-flu virus are unlikely to stop the information from leaking out, according to scientists familiar with the research.

The Centers for Diseases Control and Prevention even launched a campaign on their blog, to educate the public about the extreme dangers of a pandemic entitled, “Preparedness 101: Zombie Apocalypse.” The blog post, written by Assistant Surgeon General Ali Khan, instructs readers how to prepare for “flesh-eating zombies” much like how they appeared in feature films like 28 Days Later and I Am Legend.”

The reality of biological or chemical warfare is deadly serious. Chip Beck, a retired Navy commander and former CIA station chief, stated in an editorial, Americans Don’t Have A Clue, in the August 27, 1998 edition of the Los Angeles Times, wrote that, “the public needs to be prepared for what may be a long and bloody battle when the bombers strike back.” Beck was referring to a terroristic attack against the United States. The possibility of World War III and a conflict in the Middle East escalates the possibility of a biological attack. The reality of Iranian and terrorist sleeper cells operating in the U.S. is a reality that must be considered. Beck writes:

“Imagine downtown Los Angeles, New York, or Washington, where 100,000 inhabitants from garbage collectors to CEO’s, in kindergarten classes to nursing homes, suddenly without warning begin drowning in their bodily fluids or suffocating on swollen tongues as mucous pours out from every orifice…people convulsing so violently that internal organs are displaced and then shut down in terrifying manifestations of agony.”

Beck was trying to give a reality check to American’s who don’t understand the full implication of a biological terrorist retaliation.

What is most disturbing about this story, apart from the obvious horror, is that not one news account reported what one witness said the shooter was screaming: “allahu akbar.” Not one news account. The media is the enemy.

Check out the video here. One of the witness states that the shooter was repeatedly shouting “allahu akbar” at minute 2:42. This video is on the bottom right of the LA Times new story, but they don’t mention it in their coverage — neither does Reuters, CBS news, The Hollywood Reporter, KFAI, or any of the other news reports. I expect that this video will be removed or edited.

It is being projected that this year a record-setting 152 million Americans will go shopping between Thanksgiving and Sunday night.

A Texas gun instructor who made headlines with an ad in which he said Obama supporters and Muslims are not welcome in his class is kind of, sort of backtracking off his statements.

Crockett Keller’s radio ad has gone viral.

“If you are a socialist liberal and/or voted for the current campaigner in chief, please do not take this class,” Keller said in the ad. “You’ve already proved that you cannot make a knowledgeable and prudent decision as required under the law. Also, if you are a non-Christian Arab or Muslim, I will not teach you this class.”

The inevitable appears about to take place: The Obama administration is said to be considering a manoeuvre that would save it from having to render a decision on the Keystone XL oil pipeline from Alberta until after the presidential election next year.

Leaders of the self-described leaderless Occupy Wall Street Movement in Oakland, California, have told NBC Bay Area that “anarchists” not associated with the group are responsible for last night’s violence. Black-clad troublemakers attacked banks and also trashed a Whole Foods Store (see video below).

In response, Oakland police suited up in riot gear attacked the OWS main encampment and fired tear gas and projectiles at marchers. “Groggy people in tents could be heard telling police to go deal with troublemakers instead,” reports the Los Angeles Times.

For the last 39 years, he has been working as a pressman at the Los Angeles Times.

In the near future, he could be out of a job.

“[The management is] expecting a really bad fourth quarter. The senior vice president told us we’ve got three years more of printing the hard copy Times before they shut it down. Our plant manager says five years,” he told The Frying Pan.

A LAT spokeswoman said that there were no plans to cease publication of the print product, but you would not expect her to say anything different.

Fortunately, it does appear that the combination of an emerging police state and a declining economy that has resulted from this “war on terror” is finally starting to catch the attention of the American people. According to a Brooking Institution report, “Six in ten Americans believe that that the United States weakened its economy by overspending in its responses to the 9/11 attacks. In particular, respondents felt this was especially true of the U.S. mission in Iraq. Two out of three Americans perceive that over the decade since 9/11, U.S. power and influence in the world has declined.”

A Rasmussen report further revealed, “As with the recent turmoil in Egypt, most Americans (67%) say the United States should leave the situation in the Arab countries alone.”

Beyond that, “A Zogby poll conducted in August 2007 found that 51% of Americans want Congress to probe Bush/Cheney regarding the 9/11 attacks, two-thirds (67%) of Americans say the 9/11 Commission should have investigated the collapse of World Trade Center Building 7.”

This year’s May Day rally is expected to draw fewer immigrant rights activists to downtown Los Angeles than in past years, but police said they would be prepared for any problems that might occur.

Marchers will assemble at 10 a.m. Sunday at the intersection of Broadway and Olympic Boulevard and walk north on Broadway toward City Hall, officials said. The march will conclude with a rally on Broadway between First and Temple streets near City Hall.

Organizers said the demonstration could draw more than 50,000 people, but permits sought for the march estimate a crowd of about 10,000.

Whatever the turnout, police said, they would be ready with a significant deployment of officers.

“We are going to have a large enough deployment to handle anything,” said LAPD Deputy Chief Jose Perez. “Our posture will be consistent with what we’ve had the last two years. We want to keep a lid on anything, but, ideally, we are going to maintain a low profile and facilitate allowing everybody to express their 1st Amendment views in a peaceful and organized manner.”

As in the past, the annual immigrant and labor rights march is seen as a way to rally public support for federal legislation that would legalize the nation’s 11 million illegal immigrants.

Sitting next to his wife, Michelle, Obama told Winfrey that he asked a favor, in a way, from the Aloha State.

“I said to my team, look, even though this is not usually what the state of Hawaii does.

Even though the Republican governor of Hawaii, the Democratic governors of Hawaii, all the various officials had confirmed that I was born here, let’s ask them for a special dispensation where they will go ahead and provide us with the original to see if we can put this to rest,” Obama told the talk-show host.

ENOUGH OF ‘BIRTHER’ BALONEY

We share President Obama’s exasperation about the persistent rumor that he wasn’t born in the United States, and we hope his release of his long-form birth certificate Wednesday will disabuse many Americans of their belief in this preposterous urban legend. But we’re under no illusion – and neither is Obama – that the rumor will be entirely quelled. “I know that there’s going to be a segment of people for which, no matter what we put out, this issue will not be put to rest,” the president said at an extraordinary briefing.

That “segment” may turn out to be sizable. A shocking number of Americans give credence to the utterly unfounded notion that the president was born outside the United States – in Kenya, by some accounts – and smuggled into Hawaii, where his birth documents were fabricated. A CBS/New York Times poll released this month found that a quarter of all Americans think Obama was not born in the United States. Among Republicans and “tea party” supporters, the figure was 45 percent.

Explanations abound for the traction this conspiracy theory has achieved (the conspiracy consists of supposed efforts by the White House to conceal the “facts”). Obama’s exotic background, his schooling abroad, the middle name Hussein and, yes, his race all contribute to the perception among some Americans that the president is “other.” Marry that to a generic interest in conspiracies, economic anxiety that encourages such beliefs and the changing demographics of the country and you have the “birther” view of reality….

CNN chief: Obama birth story ‘dead’(2009)

CNN/U.S. President Jon Klein told staffers of “Lou Dobbs Tonight” the controversy over President Barack Obama’s birth certificate is a “dead story.”

Klein wrote in an e-mail to staffers Thursday that CNN researchers had determined Hawaiian officials discarded paper birth documents in 2001. Thus, he said, Obama’s long-form birth certificate no longer exists, and a shorter certificate that is public is the official record.

“It seems to definitively answer the question,” Klein wrote in the e-mail, first reported by the Web site TVNewser. “Since the show’s mission is for Lou to be the explainer and enlightener, he should be sure to cite this during your segment tonite (sic). And then it seems this story is dead — because anyone who still is not convinced doesn’t really have a legitimate beef.”

Klein said Friday he was not ordering CNN staffers to drop the story and that if developments merited more coverage, it would be pursued, the Los Angeles Times reported.

“When I use the word ‘seems,’ that’s an open invitation to disagree,” Klein told the Times.

On his show Thursday, Dobbs mentioned the explanation from Hawaiian officials but then questioned why Obama has not shown a long-form birth certificate, the newspaper said.

During an interview on the KQRS morning radio show on January 20, Mike Evans, a long-time friend of Hawaii governor Neil Abercrombie, shared a conversation he had with the governor the day prior. The reader is advised to judge for himself the credibility of Evans’ account, but he sounds convincing.

Evans, Honolulu born and now a Hollywood-based celebrity journalist, claimed that Abercrombie had promised him that he when he became governor, he planned to find absolute proof that Obama was born in Hawaii.

When Evans spoke to Abercrombie on January 19, Abercrombie reportedly told him that he searched the relevant Hawaii hospitals using his powers as governor, and concluded, according to Evans, “There is no Barack Obama birth certificate in Hawaii, absolutely no proof at all that Obama was born in Hawaii.” After Abercrombie made such a fuss about finding the birth certificate, Evans concluded of his friend that he has “got some egg in the face.”

Curiously too, when Evans asked Abercrombie when he first encountered the young Barack Obama, Abercrombie reportedly said, “I remember him playing in a T-Ball league,” when he was roughly five or six years old.

The reader may recall that Abercrombie had told the Los Angeles Times just before Christmas, “Maybe I’m the only one in the country that could look you right in the eye right now and tell you, ‘I was here when that baby was born.’”

A few days later, Abercrombie clarified to Mark Niesse of the Associated Press that he didn’t exactly see Obama’s parents with their newborn son at the hospital, but that he “remembers seeing Obama as a child with his parents at social events.” Of course, Obama Sr. had left for Harvard four years before young Barack was T-Ball eligible.

At the risk of provoking the birther beast, let’s talk about Gov. Neil Abercrombie‘s unrealistic quest to put down the delusion that President Barack Obama was not born in the United States and thus is ineligible to be its leader.

The governor surely understands that reason and evidence will never convince birthers that they are wrong.

Their irrationality will not be dissolved by facts because their notion is rooted in an inability to accept that an African American man was duly elected to be leader of this nation. Focusing on his citizenship allows them to camouflage bigotry while pretending they are nobly defending the Constitution.

It’s a free country so they get to express themselves, no matter their objective.

But why isn’t Abercrombie letting sleeping dogs lie? Why revive the hoo-ha conceived by the birther cult?

For reasons clear to no one just yet, Hawaii’s new Democrat governor, Neil Abercrombie, has gone public with his desire to silence the so-called “birthers” with proof of Barack Obama’s Hawaiian birth.

“Maybe I’m the only one in the country,” Abercrombie told the Los Angeles Times just before Christmas, “that could look you right in the eye right now and tell you, ‘I was here when that baby was born.’”

A few days later, Abercrombie clarified to Mark Niesse of the Associated Press that he didn’t exactly see Obama’s parents with their newborn son at the hospital, but that he “remembers seeing Obama as a child with his parents at social events.”

Although the major media have questioned why Abercrombie would raise an issue that, according to the Los Angeles Times, “most people see as resolved,” they take Abercrombie at his word as to what he knows about the young Obama family.

They shouldn’t. Abercrombie’s boasts about his relationship with the president’s presumed parents, Barack Obama, Sr. and Ann Dunham, have got to unnerve the president and his close advisors. They know something the media perversely choose not to know: Abercrombie is remembering a past that never happened.

A member of the House’s progressive caucus before his election as governor, Abercrombie has been talking excitedly about the relationship for years, playing John the Baptist to Obama’s Jesus.
