Who Is Winning the Gun War? by Patrick J. Buchanan

Attacks from abroad – Pearl Harbor, 9/11 – have united us.

Yet domestic atrocities lately seem only to deepen our divisions.

The bombing of the Murrah federal building in Oklahoma City was seized upon to savage government critics like Rush Limbaugh.

After the murder of six innocents, including a 9-year-old girl, and the wounding of Rep. Gabrielle Giffords and a dozen others in Tucson, Ariz., by a certifiable lunatic, Sarah Palin was charged with moral complicity.

The slaughter of 20 first-graders at Sandy Hook Elementary in Newtown, Conn., put the National Rifle Association in the media cross hairs. With the massacres at Columbine, Virginia Tech and Ft. Hood, Tucson and Newtown are now the primary exhibits in the prosecution case for the disarming of America.

In another video provided by The Maryland Minutemen, a fifteen year old young woman addresses the Maryland state legislature and in doing so some of the most hardcore gun control politicians. While some girls are running around attempting to be the next Lady Gaga, Madonna or Beyonce, it’s nice to know there are young women with some priorities in their lives. This young lady gets it, at least where arms are concerned. Take a look as see what you think.

Though I have attempted to discover the name of the young woman that spoke, I have yet to do so. However, she is a very well-spoken young woman and carried herself with poise and ease before the legislature.

During today’s coronation of King Obama His Majesty graciously set aside a small “strip of [Freedom] plaza” in D.C. as a “free speech zone.” In keeping with the theme of Coronation Week, I can’t help thinking of the comparison to King Lincoln, whose own free speech zones were prisons like Fort Lafayette in New York harbor, where civilian dissenters to the Lincoln regime were imprisoned. Having illegally suspended Habeas Corpus, the Lincoln regime rounded up tens of thousands of Northern political opponents, including elected officials, newspaper editors and owners, and just about anyone overheard criticizing Lincoln or his regime.

The murder of 20 innocent children and 7 adults in Newtown, Connecticut, horrifies all Americans. Progressives now are arguing for stricter gun control. America, however, is founded on the “consent of the governed.” Americans’ sympathy for gun control, when polled by Pew after the Aurora atrocity, was about equally split between the restrictionists and those favoring the protection of the right to bear arms.

Maryland man targeted after telling undercover police officer he was “irritated” at Obama re-election

Paul Joseph Watson

December 6, 2012

A “doomsday prepper” in a rural area of Maryland became a target for police and the FBI after he told an undercover cop that he was “very irritated” about Barack Obama’s re-election, sparking an investigation that eventually led to 46-year-old Terry Porter being thrown in prison and having his home raided by 150 armed officers.

The series of events began when an anonymous person contacted state police in early November claiming Porter was “getting crazier and crazier” and had been stockpiling “machine gun-style firearms” at his home in Sharpsburg. The police followed up by sending an undercover officer to Porter’s home pretending to be a potential customer for his welding business.

According to a charging document filed in Washington County District Court, Porter “openly admitted to being a prepper” (as if this was an illegal act in and of itself) and said that he was “very irritated” about the recent presidential election. Porter had also invested in an underground bomb shelter and had installed surveillance cameras on his property.

So Obvious any Moron Would Notice, Special Forces/CIA Hit Team Plays “DC Terrorist”

By Gordon Duff, Senior Editor

From time to time I get videos from odd sources. Back during the Bush era, selling terrorism was a big business, that and silencing people. One of the government operations stumbled over was the famed “DC Sniper,” forgotten by all.

We will begin with the impossible. Williams is a combat vet, fought in Desert Storm, 16 successful years in the military, real records of special schools, records the army lies about when asked but doesn’t disprove. This man is intelligent, a success, a perfect soldier, highly fit, top expert in martial arts, record of leadership ability, heading to a fat retirement and then he goes off the map and begins a life of “cover and deception,” a typical spy, a modern day “Michael Weston,” hardly a serial killer.

I have to say that this event, which is being labeled a “training exercise”, makes very little sense to me. U.S. Army troops all the way from Maryland running open exercises in armored personnel carriers on the busy streets of St. Louis? I know Maryland is a small state, but is there really not enough room at Ft. Detrick to accommodate a tank column and some troops? Are there not entire fake neighborhood and town complexes built with taxpayer dollars on military bases across the country meant to facilitate a realistic urban environment for troops to train in? And why travel hundreds of miles to Missouri? At the very least, this is a massive waste of funds.

This will absolutely necessitate the cost of our power to skyrocket.Look to Ohio, Pennsylvania, and Maryland where six coal-fueled power plants are being shut down by FirstEnergy because the retrofitting the power plants will have to undergo to satisfy Obama’s whims is just too expensive to justify.Company spokesmen say there is no help for it.

November 30, 2011 Leave a comment

The federal government has agreed to pay $2.5 million to the widow and children of the first person killed in the anthrax letter attacks of 2001, settling a lawsuit claiming that the Army did not adequately secure its supply of the deadly pathogen.

The settlement with the family of Robert Stevens, a tabloid photo editor in Florida, follows an eight-year legal battle that exposed slack rules and sloppy recordkeeping at the Army’s biodefense laboratory at Fort Detrick, in Frederick, Md. As part of the agreement, Justice Department lawyers are seeking to have many documents that were uncovered in the litigation kept under court seal or destroyed.

Mr. Stevens’s widow, Maureen, filed suit against the government in 2003, as evidence accumulated that the anthrax powder in the lethal letters had come from an Army laboratory. The F.B.I. finally concluded in 2008 that the letters were sent by Bruce E. Ivins, a microbiologist who worked on anthrax vaccines at the Army lab in Maryland, though some of his colleagues and friends have maintained that he was innocent.

55-year-old man responsive after nearly being starved to death at hospital

October 22, 2011 Leave a comment

FREDERICK, Md. — A 55-year-old Maryland man who became temporarily unconscious after suffering a heart attack and a seizure has been saved from being starved to death after an ADF-allied attorney obtained an order in state court on behalf of the man’s mother and brother. The man, Daniel Sanger, is now responding to hospital staff after going six days without food and water.

Although Sanger told his doctor and his mother “I want to live” before he went unconscious, Frederick Memorial Hospital removed the public-assistance patient from life-giving food, water, and nutrients on Friday with the permission of his wife.

“Everyone deserves a chance to recover,” said ADF Legal Counsel Matt Bowman. “There is no question that Daniel expressly stated his desire to live, and yet he was denied the food and water he needed to survive. His wishes should have been followed. ADF sees far too many situations involving hasty decisions to pull the plug on a human life.”

“The court has done the right thing in granting our request to have Daniel’s food and hydration restored,” said Sanger’s legal counsel Daniel Cox, one of nearly 2,100 attorneys in the ADF alliance. “We are asking the court to award temporary decision-making authority to Daniel’s mother and brother.”

Cox, who heads The Cox Law Center, LLC, filed a motion in Frederick County Circuit Court Wednesday to force the hospital to resume sending life-giving nutrients to Sanger through his feeding tube. The motion, filed in Sanger v. Rafiq, also requested that Sanger’s mother, Phyllis Sanger, and his brother, Mark Sanger, be awarded temporary custody instead of his wife, Leta Sanger, who went against her husband’s express wishes to remain alive.

Chief Judge Peter Krauser, of the Maryland Court of Special Appeals, responded by issuing an order Wednesday to provide immediate water and nutrition to Sanger pending the outcome of a hearing that was held Thursday. At that hearing, Frederick County Circuit Judge Theresa Adams issued a temporary restraining order instructing Frederick Memorial Hospital to provide life-sustaining nutrition to Sanger until the completion of a trial set for Wednesday at 9 a.m. EDT at the Frederick County Circuit Court at 100 W. Patrick St.

Chuck Baldwin — Abraham Lincoln’s America

October 16, 2011 Leave a comment

More than any other single person, Abraham Lincoln shaped and formed modern America. It was Abraham Lincoln who was the first President to flagrantly and deliberately violate his oath to preserve, protect, and defend the Constitution of the United States. His disregard and contempt for the Constitution cannot be overstated.

In order to “preserve the Union,” Lincoln destroyed the very principles upon which the Union was created. His audacity is without equal. For example, to prevent a possible vote of secession by the Maryland legislature, Lincoln ordered federal troops to seize and arrest the Maryland congressional delegation. And of course, he was more than willing to sacrifice hundreds of thousands of America’s finest and best to destroy Jefferson’s declaration that the states of our Union are “Free and Independent States.”

I invite all those pro-Lincoln apologists out there to seriously answer this question: Does an abusive husband who beats and batters his wife have the right to force her (at the point of gun) to remain married to him? (Even the God of the Bible, Who cast marriage in the most sacred terms, recognizes the right of lawful separation.) If you answer no, how can you continue to justify Abraham Lincoln’s actions? In a political and governmental sense, that is exactly what Lincoln did. Forced union, of any kind, is slavery. In the name of emancipating slaves, Lincoln enslaved an entire nation.

U.S. Citizenship Should Not be for Sale

Outsourcing is not the only way we are losing American jobs to Communist China. The Chinese have figured out how to capture jobs inside the U.S. by using our EB-5 visas (employment-based, fifth priority).

Most Americans have never heard of this visa, but the Chinese are now planning to use it to build and run a casino labeled Maryland Live! near the Baltimore airport. Boasting 3,750 slot machines, this $440 million casino will be one of the largest in the country.

Failing to attract enough U.S. investors for this big-time gambling center, the promoters went to Shanghai in September and made a sales pitch to 50 rich Chinese to invest $500,000 each in this Maryland casino, which seems to offer a profitable return. The sweetest part of the deal, however, is that the investor’s entire family will be rewarded with a set of U.S. green cards valid for life, a system called “investment immigration.”

EB-5 visas were created to promote investment in depressed areas, but the area isn’t depressed and Maryland’s unemployment rate is about 2 percentage points lower than the nation’s. Skillful gerrymandering produced a map to label a parking lot in the huge Arundel Mills Mall a “targeted unemployment area.”

Don’t count on the Maryland casino to produce good jobs for Americans. If the Chinese follow the pattern they used in building the San-Francisco-Oakland Bay Bridge, low-paid Chinese workers will be imported to build and staff the casino.

To qualify for EB-5 visas, each investor need create only 10 jobs, and they can be “indirectly created,” whatever that means. And the investment can be withdrawn after only 24 months.

Another EB-5 case involved a dairy farm in South Dakota. It created some jobs, but 16 of the 17 regular employees turned out to be illegal aliens. Maybe milking cows wasn’t an exciting occupation for Chinese families rich enough to make a $500,000 investment.

Idaho Gov. Butch Otter, backed up by the U.S. and Idaho Departments of Commerce and the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, traveled to China last year to sell the Chinese on the idea of using EB-5 visas to invest in Idaho. Otter is calling the EB-5 visa a “key element” of his effort to attract new foreign investment to Idaho.

China is trying to build a 10,000- to 30,000-acre “technology zone” south of the Boise airport with full landing rights to the Boise airport, including industry, retail centers and homes leased to the Chinese. This project will have a manufacturing and warehouse zone tied to the airport and may expand with building and financing a fertilizer plant near American Falls, Idaho.

Idaho residents are not happy about Communist China trying to colonize their state. The multibillion-dollar Chinese company initiating this project, Sinomach, has also sent delegations to Ohio, Michigan and Pennsylvania.

While more Americans are unemployed, living on food stamps and being foreclosed on, Communist China is trying to buy our land, businesses, homes and natural resources. Our globalist-minded government is assisting with the bait of EB-5 visas.

The free-trade advocates have floated the peculiar notion that we should import foreign students, award them advanced degrees and then give them a green card, so they can legally remain in the United States getting good engineering jobs instead of Americans. Where did the weird idea come from that our country of 300 million people must look to other countries not only for large investors but also for smart graduate students with advanced degrees?

Stapling a green card to foreign students’ diplomas has become a favorite one-liner of New York Times pundit Thomas Friedman, Gov. Mitt Romney and Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano. Rep. Jeff Flake, R-Ariz., even introduced a bill called the Staple Act of 2011 (stopping trained-in-America Ph.D.s from leaving the economy).

The Times Square bomber is a good example of the deception that foreigners who attend U.S. universities are “the best and the brightest.” He was allowed to stay in the U.S. on an H-1B visa, on the basis of his degree in “computer applications” from a so-so college and was later even granted U.S. citizenship. Fortunately, Faisal Shahzad wasn’t bright enough to accomplish his destructive goal.

We’ve had four nationally televised debates featuring 2012 Republican presidential candidates. It’s a mystery why the usually aggressive media interrogators haven’t asked any questions about how China is buying its way in America with our money, how free trade is cheating us coming and going, how China is stealing our intellectual property and patents, how China has sold us poisonous and defective products, how China is building a tremendous military machine with U.S. dollars, and the racket of the preferential visas that give jobs to non-Americans.

Vietnam Vet In Wheelchair Gets $15 MILLION Reward For Busting Medicaid Fraud !

September 26, 2011 1 comment

A frail but feisty, partially paralyzed wheelchair-bound Vietnam vet scored a $15 million whistelblower’s reward after uncovering a massive Medicaid fraud scheme — with the help of his trusty calculator.

“From my wheelchair, on a ventilator and oxygen, I have spent the last seven years in this fight. Sometimes, the good guy wins,’’ said plucky Richard West, 63, of Tuckerton, NJ.

The savvy senior said he first smelled a rat when he went to the dentist in 2004 — and was told his Medicaid benefits had maxed out.

West returned home and scoured his own, meticulously kept records, discovering that Maxim Healthcare — the agency that provides his home-health aides — had billed Uncle Sam for care he never got, including coverage by nurses he’d never met.

Maxim — which has 300 offices in 40 states, including New York — was eventually busted for netting a total of $61 million in phony reimbursements.

Under terms of a deal unveiled this week, Maxim, which is partly owned by Baltimore Ravens owner Stephen Bisciotti, agreed to fork over $121.5 million in reimbursements and penalties for the phony Medicaid claims and another $8.4 million to the Veterans Administration.

The Maryland-based company was also slapped with a $20 million fine. The feds added that they will be overseeing its operations for two years.

Under federal law, Richard West was entitled to a percentage of the payback the company was ordered to fork over.

Of his newfound millions, the disabled vet, who’s on a portable ventilator, said he plans to spend it wisely.

“I need a new van, my house needs work, and I’m going to make donations to charities for the disabled,” West said.

Maxim CEO Brad Bennett was contrite in a statement, saying: “We take full responsibility for these events.”

Secret Service Agent-Turned Senate Hopeful: ‘I Like the President,’ but ‘Policies Just Wrong’

After more than a decade protecting presidents with the Secret Service, Daniel Bongino is currently running against the policies that the most recent president he worked under – President Obama – has moved along.

Bongino, who quit his job with the Secret Service in May to run for the Senate as a Republican in Maryland, told us on ABC’s “Top Line” today that it’s nothing personal.

“I like the president a lot personally. We had a good relationship. He was a wonderful man to me, and this is not any kind of a personal gripe,” Bongino said.

“It’s strictly a political, ideological difference. His policies I think are just wrong. We’re headed down a path I don’t think we want to go down.”

Bongino would become the first former Secret Service agent to serve in Congress. And his reason for running sounds similar to the rationale given by dozens if not hundreds of first-time candidates over the last few years.

The illegal immigration debate has become an urgent focal point of American politics. Liberal politicians from the White House on down have vigorously advocated for illegal immigrant amnesty and lax border enforcement in a naked attempt to bolster prospective voter rolls.[1]

This controversy has been brewing for some time in Maryland, whose Hispanic population more than doubled between 2000 and 2010.[2] Under Governor Martin O’Malley’s sanctuary policies the state has become an illegal alien magnet.[3] The current cost of illegals in Maryland is estimated to be $1.7 billion per year, more than three-quarters of the state’s $2 billion structural deficit.[4]

Taxpayer ire overflowed this March with the passage of Maryland’s Development, Relief, and Education for Alien Minors (DREAM) Act, granting in-state college tuition rates to illegals. A nonpartisan coalition of concerned Marylanders launched a petition drive to delay the measure and place it on the 2012 ballot as a referendum. They needed 55,736 signatures. They received twice that amount………….

Obama Makes ‘Socialist’ Quip During Debt Town Hall

July 22, 2011 Leave a comment

During his town hall meeting in Maryland today on the debt crisis, President Obama found time to answer critics who think his position (and positions) have a socialist flavor. And he joked about it.

“This isn’t just some wild-eyed socialist position, it’s the position being taken by people of both parties and no party,“ he said with with a smirk as the audience chuckled and after talking about ”shared sacrifice:”

Obama seems well aware of his critics. For example, on radio today Glenn Beck labeled the president a “Marxist.”

Less than two weeks away from a debt ceiling deadline, President Barack Obama sought Friday to pressure House Republicans to come around to a deal that he insisted must include new taxes — which he calls “revenues” — as well as spending cuts.

At the same time, even with no clear end in sight to negotiations that have dragged on for weeks, the president asserted that the U.S. has never defaulted on its debt and won’t do so now.

Lawmaker Seeks More Transparency for SWAT Team Raids

Lawmaker Seeks More Transparency for SWAT Team Raids:

“The part-time mayor of an upper middle class Maryland suburb of Washington, D.C. found himself and his mother-in-law handcuffed in his own home by a Prince George’s County SWAT team one July evening three years ago.

His two black Labrador retrievers had been shot dead, the second one from behind as it fled the officers who had broken into the home in a ‘no knock’ raid as part of a drug investigation. Five months later, Berwyn Heights Mayor Cheye Calvo and his entire family had been cleared of all wrongdoing and suspicion, but the county police were still refusing to provide documentation to justify why they had violently entered the home of an innocent man.
