The Communist website http://www.worker-communist.org carries quite a bit of commentary on the War of Northern Aggression. This site claims that the War brought the communists in America and those in Europe “back into regular contact.” Actually, that contact had never been severed.
…..Thomas Jefferson pointed to the phenomenon of the Yankee just before his election as president when he wrote: “It is true that we are completely under the saddle of Massachusetts and Connecticut, and that they ride us very hard, insulting our feelings, as well as exhausting our strength and substance.”
At about the same time he remarked of New England, the original breeding ground of Yankees, that they were “marked with such a perversity of character” that the natural political division of the United States would always be between Americans (non-Yankees) and Yankees.

A Massachusetts politician has put forth a proposal to allow local police to enter homes without a warrant in order to inspect whether gun owners are properly storing their firearms. The idea was floated by Swampsott Selectman Barry Greenfield, who expressed frustration about the Newtown school massacre in the neighboring state of Connecticut and in other cases where people have obtained their parents’ guns to carry out shootings.
“We need the ability to enforce the state law,” Greenfield said, according to the Swampscott Patch.
The town of Swampscott reportedly has about 600 gun owners. Under Massachusetts law, it is “unlawful to store or keep any firearm … in any place unless such weapon is secured in a locked container or equipped with a tamper-resistant mechanical lock or other safety device, properly engaged so as to render such weapon inoperable by any person other than the owner or other lawfully authorized user.”
Greenfield said he spoke with Swampscott Police Chief Ron Madigan about inspecting homes for proper gun storage.
But Selectman Glenn Kessler said there are questions about the constitutionality of the proposal and wants input from law enforcement, legal counsel and town residents. There will likely be a meeting to solicit town input, the Patch reported.
Washington state considered a similar law earlier this year, according to Boston Herald columnist Michael Graham.
“Then some lawyer heard a rumor about some ‘Second Amendment thingy’ and it went away,” Graham wrote.
“This isn’t a Second Amendment issue. It’s a Fourth Amendment one — unreasonable search and seizure,” Graham continued. “If Swampscott residents who don’t own guns sit back and allow this to happen, they’ll be playing their role in the famous parable of Martin Niemoller: “First they came for the gun owners, but I didn’t own a gun …”

I grew up mostly in Lexington, Mass., where the famed “shot heard round the world” was fired. On my way home from high school each day, I would pass Lexington Green, where colonial militia had assembled on the morning of April 19, 1775, and encountered a force of British redcoats who were on their way to neighboring Concord to confiscate armaments. Shots rang out; eight militia men died; nine were wounded; the Revolutionary War had begun. The redcoats suffered only one minor wound and continued to Concord, where they found fewer munitions than expected. They spent the rest of the day being routed by superior numbers of militia, on a long and bloody retreat back to their garrison in the city of Boston.

………..Fisher Ames said, \”Society is the substratum of government.\”
By that he meant that culture, in many ways, steers the ship of state. As the values of the culture change, voters will elect people who embody and represent those changing values. It doesn\’t matter if those changes in morals were brought on by the media, the church, a partisan and biased educational system, or all of the above; the people eventually get what they want.
If their wants shift in a certain direction, regardless of the cause, in a representative republic the government will eventually change with it.

The \”Battle of Lexington,\” 1775, was portrayed as an unprovoked slaughter of colonists by the British. James Perloff believes that, like the sinking of the USS Maine, the sinking of the Lusitania, and 9-11, the event was engineered to start war.
It seems Americans have been manipulated into fighting wars from the get-go.

Obama, family going on eight-day Martha’s Vineyard vacation

Cue up the indignant reactions: President Barack Obama and his family are about to go on an eight-day vacation on the Massachusetts island of Martha’s Vineyard, an elite playground for the East Coast wealthy set.
Often the criticism of a president’s vacation is partisan in nature, which is why White House spokesman Jay Carney dismissed a question about it when asked whether Obama’s vacation was too extravagant.
“I would just check what they said six years ago,” he said, referring to a period when a Republican president, George W. Bush, was in office.

Boston cops crack down on after-hours parties
Saturday, July 6, 2013PrintEmail Comments (9)
Boston police are using social media, as well as old-fashioned walking beats, to find huge after-hours parties before they happen in an effort to tamp down summer violence.
“It’s about trying to be proactive,” said Bureau of Field Services Superintendent William Evans. “If we find out about a party, we’re going to visit that house ahead of time.
So American’s should be increasingly worried that such incidents, manufactured or not, are getting more frequent and closer to home, because if the way Boston was handled is the blueprint for the introduction of a more permanent state of martial law to go along with our apparent state(s) of perpetual financial repression and bureaucracy emboldening, the evidence is clear – we are all in a great deal of trouble.
Just wait for the banks and financial institutions to start failing to see your life savings confiscated by a bunch of corrupt bureaucrats to keep their pensions coming in. Then, like depicted in Animal Farm, it will be too late, because the pigs will unleash their dogs on you if trouble erupts. That’s what the ‘big show’ in Boston was all about; showing you who is boss. So again, one does wonder how a couple of deeply misguided boys were able to both concoct and execute such an elaborate plan with all those special opps types present supposedly watching for just that kind of thing. It makes you wonder.

BATTLEFIELD USA: De Facto State of Martial Law Has Been Declared in Boston by Mac Slavo… “This is what America looks like under martial law:”
As news of last night’s incident in Watertown, Massachusetts spread, police from all over the North East converged, once again, on Boston. Along with them were elements of the National Guard and U.S. military.
Though an official announcement has not been made, and likely will not be made, the entire Boston metropolitan area is now in complete lock-down in what can only be described as a de facto state of martial law.

Massachusetts police pepper sprayed and arrested a man for video recording them after they ordered him to walk away. Then they spent the next several minutes handcuffing and stuffing him inside a police car while a woman who repeatedly identified herself as an attorney recorded it all.The incident took place in a bar district in Northampton.
And the video was uploaded today. Other than that, there is not much information available other than the following brief description:Northampton, MA police arrest an innocent black man outside of Tully O’Reilly’s for no reason.
All he did was take out his phone to start recording the police. He did not fight back, did not resist, but was pepper-sprayed and slammed onto the ground and arrested. The video starts off with some type of police action across the street.

Massachusetts Democratic State Representative John Fresolo complained that “people are misinterpreting the rationale behind what I did.” What he did was send a digital photo of his penis to a computer at the State House. A legislative aide who saw the photo lodged a complaint with the Ethics Committee.

First Lady Michelle Obama appears to have abandoned, at least for now, her oft-criticized “Let’s Move” initiative to promote exercise and healthy eating among the nation’s youth, halting public appearances and statements related to the program.
Mrs. Obama does not appear to have done anything much to personally publicize the initiative in more than four months – since she released a video in early September welcoming children back to school and telling them about the “healthy, delicious new choices” on school lunch menus. In August she had a “Kids’ State Dinner” at the White House to showcase healthy eating.
Townhall columnist Kyle Olson reported in September on growing complaints kids were going hungry as a result of Michelle Obama’s lunch overhaul.
In Wisconsin, high school athletes are complaining about not getting enough to eat each day, due to the skimpy new school lunch menu mandated by the United States Department of Agriculture and First Lady Michelle Obama.

Judge Napolitano: “Either We Have a 2nd Amendment or We Don’t”
January 17, 2013
I think we’re at the most dangerous time in our political history in terms of the balance of power in the role that the media plays in whether or not we maintain a free democracy or not. You know, when I first started in politics – and for a long time before that – everyone on both sides, Democrats and Republicans, despised the press commonly, because they were SOBs to everybody.
Which is exactly what they should be. They were unrelenting. Whatever the biases were, they were essentially equal-opportunity people.
That changed in 1980.
This section is one that frequently applies to my own law practice. I provide legal services in jurisdictions where I am not admitted to practice all the time, under the pro hac vice rules of the local state and federal courts.
Under those rules, I can apply to practice in the courts of other states, including Massachusetts, as long as I am licensed and in good standing in Minnesota, and agree to abide by the ethics rules of those states. But you can’t practice under pro hac rules in the state where you reside, and no one claims that this exception applies to Elizabeth Warren’s practice in Massachusetts.

The Romney campaign has chosen to deploy a strategy that depends on drawing a contrast between Romney’s proven competence and Obama‘s disappointing incompetence (while being careful always to obscure the fact that Romney’s competence came in the role of socialist administrator during the Massachusetts phase of his career).
But just as the debris of Obama’s (competently executed?) policies for destroying America’s international prestige and security comes burbling to the surface of events (an ideal moment for Romney to expose this destructive competence for what it is), Romney puts on his own display of incompetence. His badly timed reaction to the assassination of the U.S. Ambassador to Libya handed Obama the chance to appear “Presidential,” while Romney appeared to be so focused on scoring political points that he didn’t even bother to inform himself of the true context in which he was speaking.

The Obama syndicate’s (aka the Obama regime) campaign lies have hit new and previously unprecedented heights…or lows as it were. Delving into uncharted dark and murky waters,
one of Obama’s first reelection campaign lies came about in an Obama-Ad that claimed Mitt Romney, while at Bain Capital, was a “corporate raider” and while governor of Massachusetts sent American jobs overseas to India. Both of these claims are false, as reported by the liberal Washington Post who advised in its article “4 Pinocchios for Obama’s newest anti-Romney ad”:
“The claim that Romney outsourced jobs as governor is equally overblown. This concerns Romney’s veto of a bill that would have prohibited Massachusetts from contracting with companies that outsourced the state’s work to other countries. Lawmakers were especially concerned about a $160,000-a-month contract with Citigroup to operate a system of electronic food-stamp cards that included a customer phone service center in India.
Try as they might to portray him as ‘Bain Batman’, ‘Romney Hood’, and the “Romney Killed My Wife” ad guy, the Obama Team is missing the boat on what most aptly describes their Chief Opponent. Mitt Romney is a lukewarm cup of tea.
Make that the lukewarm cup of tea we fervently cling to in the hope it will sometime soon give us something to believe in.
Mr. Romney said in 1994 that while it was up to BSA to set its own policy, he thought the scouts should allow gay boys
Ron Paul cooperates with no one, checks his voice for no one and doesn’t much like the GOP establishment types. This would include the GOP’s likely nominee, Mitt Romney, template maker in Massachusetts for all things nefarious accomplished by Barack Hussein Obama but brought to a national audience.
RUSH: Okay, now you people know, you are well aware one of the reasons you listen is I know liberals. I know them. I know them like every square inch of my gloriously naked body. Dealing with liberals is like dealing with a one-armed lunatic. They’re just gonna keep swinging.
They’re gonna keep fighting no matter what you do. They never go away. And I know what they’re gonna do and why they’re gonna do it before they do it, and people marvel at this. We have an opportunity now because of the utterance of Elizabeth Warren, she’s running against Scott Brown for the United States Senate in Massachusetts.
Not only do my ex’s live in Texas, but your ex’s, and pretty much everyone else’s ex’s as well. All of America is moving to Texas. Especially the ex-residents of high tax states like California and New York. And, I’ll bet many of the ex-residents of Big Brother tax and spend Massachusetts, Illinois and Michigan are there too.
The fact is Texas led the nation in net population growth for the past decade, while New York and California led the nation in net population loss. Interestingly, the most new Texans (over 550,000) came from one state- California. They brought with them a remarkable $14.3 billion in income, but even that paled to the almost $1 trillion in assets and income that re-located New Yorkers brought to the Lone Star State.
Back in April, activists aligned with Ron Paul seized control of Massachusetts’s 2012 caucuses and elected many of their own to serve as delegates to the Tampa convention this summer. In the process, they defeated a number of prominent Massachusetts Republicans, including former Lt. Gov. Kerry Healey and 2010 gubernatorial candidate Charlie Baker.
Well, now the Boston Globe reports the revolution is over:
[Evan] Kenney was one of 17 delegates and alternates disqualified by a Republican committee deciding who gets to represent Massachusetts Republicans at the national convention in Tampa. Kenney and others had failed to deliver in time an affidavit swearing, under the penalty of perjury, that they would support Mitt Romney’s nomination for president.
An affidavit is never mentioned in the Republican Party’s rules for selecting delegates and has never been required of delegates in the past, GOP critics say. Suspicions are steep this year because Kenney and the others are supporters of Ron Paul, the libertarian candidate whose quixotic campaign for president culminated in an effort to take over state caucuses nationwide.
St. Louis Bans Local Brews from Festivals: Home brewers in St. Louis who made hundreds of gallons of beer for this past weekend’s St. Louis Brewers Heritage Festival are going to have a lot of extra brew on their hands after the city banned them from participating on Monday.
One of the most dangerous aspects of progressivism is the stranglehold they have upon the educational system. None of the ideas they have are new, some may be modern spins on old ideals, but these ultimately go back a long, long way.
John Dewey is very well known as the father of modern education, but Dewey himself cites Mann as the “patron saint of progressive education”. This makes Mann an important figure to be readily knowledgable about, as well as the roots of his beliefs.
A very sobering video report from the Wall Street Journal on how ObamaCare is already forcing colleges to drop student health plans. The bureaucratic nonsense of ObamaCare is forcing radical cost increases (imagine that!) and colleges are dropping their student health care plans.
Bush’s liberal policies while governor of Texas dwarfed compared to his exploits as president.
Why couldn’t Clinton do these things? Because of a Republican Congress. How could Bush do these things? Because of a Republican Congress! The Republicans resisted Clinton’s leftist agenda, but stood faithfully by their man G. W. Bush when he outdid the socialist programs of Marxist Bill Clinton.
Fast-forward to 2012.
“Anybody but Obama” is now the motto of all the conservatives who are lining up to hold their noses and endorse Mitt Romney.
• Even though Romney single-handedly, illegally, and unconstitutionally put Massachusetts on the map as the first state to hand out marriage licenses to same-sex couples.
• Even though he passed Romneycare which included $50 co-pay, taxpayer-funded abortions – all of this supposedly three years after his “pro-life conversion.”
• Even though under Romney’s leadership, employment in Massachusetts was the worst in the nation and the size of the state government grew to astronomical proportions.
If you judge a candidate by what he does and not what he says on the campaign trail, who would be the face of legalized gay marriage, tax-payer funded child-killing, and BIG government?
RUSH: Okay, let’s see. Bill Clinton said that Mitt Romney is a great businessman. So we have to stop criticizing Romney and Bain Capital, as Clinton heads off to supposedly help Obama in Wisconsin. And then Deval Patrick, “I like these Bain guys. These Bain guys really helped us out here in Massachusetts. They got a great record. I like Romney.” It’s Friday, folks.
The Massachusetts legislature and its Department of Public Health recently set off a national furor over a proposed statewide ban on bake sales at school events under the guise of fighting obesity.
The national exposure forced Massachusetts Governor Deval Patrick to lift the proposed ban from the regulations. “Nobody’s interested in banning bake sales,” Patrick told the Boston Herald May 10, backtracking. “We are interested in student nutrition and good choices.” The state house had just overwhelmingly voted to amend the healthcare law they had passed a year earlier.
(“The presidential candidate was born in the United States, and his father was not”) Romney’s birth certificate evokes his father’s controversy(released today! evokes O’s BC)
WASHINGTON (Reuters) – Finally, there is definitive proof: The presidential candidate was born in the United States, and his father was not.
They say “Jolly is the fat man,” but perhaps not when he’s being chased (and, I’m sure, caught) like a Frankenstein monster by the Body Cult crazies. And that is the case today, as it has become fashionable to affront the friendly-fronted.
It seems most anything goes now: bloated houses, bloated egos, bloated libidos, bloated bureaucracies, bloated government—except bloated bellies. And a perusal of the news makes this clear, with a never-ending stream of stories about obesity this and obesity that. For example, headlining Drudge the other day was a piece about how fathead officials in Massachusetts propose to ban school bake sales—even before and after school hours—to combat obesity.

Kentucky Bourbon Barrel Ale, a local brew produced at a quaint brewery in downtown Lexington, is enjoying surging sales and developing plans for national distribution.
This is the success the ale and Alltech’s Lexington Brewing and Distilling Co. has enjoyed in the past 12 months:
Texas Congressman and Obstetrician Ron Paul “dominated” the Louisiana presidential caucuses April 28, according to the New Orleans Times-Picayune. Paul supporters also out-organized the presumed GOP presidential nominee in caucuses in former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney’s home state of Massachusetts, and Paul supporters took over the Alaska Republican Party the same day.
Ron Paul dealt a quiet, but embarrassing, blow to Republican rival Mitt Romney this weekend, scoring an impressive delegate victory on the presumptive nominee’s home turf.
The Boston Globe reports today that Paul supporters filled more than half of the delegate slots at this weekend’s Massachusetts Republican district caucuses, edging out at least 16 Romney delegates for a spot at the Republican National Convention.
Paul’s wins aren’t likely to effect on Romney’s all-but-certain coronation as the Republican nominee. Romney won the Massachusetts Republican primary with 72% of the vote, so 38 of the state’s 41 RNC delegates are legally bound to vote for their former governor on the first ballot at the convention.
