The House Republican Leadership has announced its intention to have the House vote, before adjourning on Friday or Saturday, on several major pieces of legislation that are not yet available to House members in final form because behind-closed-door negotiations on the proposals are still going on. The Leadership apparently intends to use a process known as “martial law” to allow these bills to be brought to the floor very shortly after negotiations are completed, with the result that Members of the House are likely to have virtually no time to examine and consider the details of the legislation before they will be required to vote on it.

Bono, the mouthpiece for environmentalism, global wealth transfer and socialist policy in general owns several opulent mansions throughout the world and travels by jet. The four engine behemoth he flies (while admonishing you to drive a hybrid) gets about 3 miles per gallon. (So much for the imperiled ozone, the Kyoto treaty and greenhouse gasses.)
What we now see is the GOP unabashedly aligning itself with a man who travels the world advocating taxpayers (especially the porcine capitalists in America) fund every bloated ostensibly humanitarian project the UN can cook up. Ironically, Bono has moved his lucrative music enterprise out of his native Ireland and to the Netherlands to offset a huge tax bill with nary a wimper about this Bono factoid in our liberal press.
With planes, mansions, off shore tax shelters and a world-wide bully pulpit to tell Americans how they should fund millions for tin pot dictators in far flung lands- Bono’s got it all figured out about how much and to whom you must give to charity.
And the Republicans have signed you up for this lunacy. The Republicans- the party of limited government whose control of the White House and/or both houses of Congress for a quarter century has resulted in quadrupled federal spending.
Would that time travel were possible; I’d introduce Davy Crockett to this bonehead Bono. Davy Crockett was a U.S. Congressman from Tennessee- not just some coon-skin capped fictional character. Based on the following story I suspect the fabled frontiersman Davy Crockett would have a few well-chosen- albeit sharp- words for Mr. Bono.

For those of you who never heard of Ron Paul before the debate, I have known him for more than twenty five years. I have been with him many times in many settings.
I recall being with him in fellow physician Larry McDonald�s congressional office in Washington, which would have had to be more than twenty four years ago. Remember that my dear friend Larry was probably kidnapped by the Soviets on September first, 1983, when they shot down Koran Air Lines 007. He was an old-school Democrat, of course, and completely shared our beliefs.
I have spent time with Ron between congressional stints in his medical office. After the Patriot Act, he told me ruefully that the congressmen who voted for it had not been allowed to read it and knew only what they had been told. A few months back, we were together in his district office in Lake Jackson and he told me he was breaking in his new knees. That�s right, in addition to all his other qualities, Dr. Ron is now a bionic Member of Congress.
Allen West, Joe McCarthy and the Communists
Rep. Allen West (R-FL) overstated the case when he recently declared “I believe there is about 78 to 81 members of the Democratic Party that are members of the Communist Party.” He clarified his assertion by stating that he was actually referring to members of the Congressional Progressive Caucus which, he contended, were Marxist in their orientation. At least on that point he was absolutely right.
The Congressional Progressive Caucus which, as Rep. Allen West claimed, includes about 78 members of Congress, maintains a direct affiliation with the Democratic Socialists of America (DSA) which is the American branch of Socialist International. This international group, Socialist International, traces its origin to the First International which was established in London, September 28, 1864. The First International included Karl Marx as a member of its provisional General Council. The DSA, the American branch of Socialist International, has a euphemistic and nuanced mission statement posted on the website which says, among other things, that “To achieve a more just society, many structures of our government must be transformed through greater economic and social democracy.”
A cursory investigation of the DSA indicates that they stand for principles that are antithetical to the American system of government and the American way of life. While the congressmen who are members of the Progressive Caucus, which is affiliated with the DSA, have done nothing illegal by holding membership in such an organization, the ethics of their membership ought to be called into question. Upon entering their office these congressmen took an oath to uphold the US Constitution yet they are members of a political organization that is headquartered in a foreign country and that calls for a re-ordering of the American system. Each of them ought to be asked which part of the US Constitution they would like to “transform.”

A new program in Houston will place undercover TSA agents and police officers on buses whose job it will be to perform bag searches, watch for “suspicious activity” and interrogate passengers in order to ‘curb crime and terrorism’.
Democratic Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee unveiled the program, labeled Bus Safe, during a press conference on Friday. According to a Metropolitan Transit Authority of Houston (METRO) press release, agencies involved in the scheme will, “ride buses, perform random bag checks, and conduct K-9 sweeps, as well as place uniformed and plainclothes officers at Transit Centers and rail platforms to detect, prevent and address latent criminal activity or behavior.”
“While local law enforcement agencies focus on overall safety measures noted above, representatives with the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) will also be on hand, lending their counter-terrorism expertise and support during the exercise,” states the press release.
“If you think you’re going to be a bad actor on buses, get ready. You are going to have a short-lived time frame,” Jackson Lee said during the press conference. The Congresswoman is a staunch advocate of the TSA, having recently chastised the passage of a new law that allows airports to evict TSA agents and replace them with private screeners by claiming it would lead to a new 9/11-style attack.

One hundred forty-four weeks. Some 1,010 days. That’s how long it’s been since the United States Congress actually passed a budget.
While many Americans live paycheck-to-paycheck, planning very carefully a family strategy on how much to spend and on what, the elected leaders of the country have gotten by on omnibus spending bills in lieu of an actual budget for nearly three years.
Now, one U.S. congressman is proposing that members of Congress not receive a paycheck until they do their job and pass a budget.
Called the “Budget or Bust” Act, Georgia Congressman Paul Broun’s recently submitted bill demands just that. No budget, no paycheck for Congress.
HR 3883 would remove the president from the budget process, which is what Broun says the country’s Founders intended anyway.
“My bill returns the power of the purse to its rightful owner, which our Founding Fathers determined to be Congress, not the president,” says Broun.
“The Budget or Bust Act repeals a requirement created in 1921 for the president to submit an annual budget – an act that both Houses of Congress have used as a crutch.”
Broun says that maybe if the paychecks for members of Congress are on the line, some work will get done in Washington.

Will the shocking insider trading revelations that have come to light in recent days finally be enough to motivate the American people to start throwing all of the con men and charlatans out of Congress? On Sunday, 60 Minutes opened up a huge can of worms when it did a feature story on insider trading by members of Congress. Up until now, the vast majority of Americans had no idea that insider trading was actually legal for members of Congress. In fact, as will be documented later on in this article, members of Congress have been using secrets that they have learned during the course of their duties to make huge amounts of money in the stock market. If you can believe it, during the financial crisis of 2008 some members of Congress were making huge stock moves that would only pay off if the stock market crashed really hard at a time when they should have been focusing on creating legislation that would help the U.S. financial system survive. It is hard not to feel sick after learning how low some of our “leaders” have stooped to enrich themselves. Now that the American people are learning the truth, how can they ever trust Congress again?
Even before these revelations about insider trading by members of Congress came to light, the approval rating for Congress was sitting at about 11 percent.
There is a widespread feeling in this country that our political system simply does not work any longer.
Nearly all of our “leaders” seem to be wealthy elitists that are rapidly becoming wealthier. Today, the average net worth for a member of Congress is approximately 3.8 million dollars, and the collective net worth of all of the members of Congress increased by 25 percent between 2008 and 2010.
It would be one thing is they were accumulating all of this wealth legitimately. However, it is just not right for members of Congress to use government secrets and inside information that is not available to the general public to make huge profits in the stock market.
If any of the rest of us engage in insider trading, it could get us thrown into jail.

In the early 1800′s Congress was considering a bill to give tax dollars to the widow of a well-loved military officer. Davy Crockett rose to address Congress after many speeches advocating the allocation. He said: “Mr. Speaker…. I will not go into an argument to prove that Congress has no power to appropriate this money as an act of charity. Every member upon this floor knows it.
We have the right, as individuals to give away as much of our own money as we please in charity, but as members of Congress we have no right to so appropriate a dollar of the public money. We have no…. authority to appropriate it as a charity. I cannot vote for this bill, but I will give one week’s pay, and if every member of Congress will do the same, it will amount to more than the bill asks.”
There was silence on the floor of the House as Crockett took his seat. When the bill was put to a vote, instead of passing unanimously as had been expected, it received only a few votes. The next day a friend asked Crockett why he spoken against a bill for such a worthy cause. In reply, Crockett related the following story: Just a few years before, he had voted to spend $20,000.00 of public money to help the victims of a fire in Georgetown.
When the legislative session was over, Crockett made a trip back home to campaign for his re-election. He encountered one of his constituents. The man told Crockett, “I voted for you the last time. I shall not vote for you again.”
Crockett, feeling he had served his constituents well, was stunned. He inquired as to what he had done wrong. The man replied, “You gave a vote last winter which shows that either you have not capacity to understand the Constitution, or that you are wanting in the honesty and firmness to be guided by it.

I do not know how I can state it any clearer.
The American people are victims of the greatest fraud and the deepest and widest conspiracy in the history of the United States. This fraud and conspiracy stretches throughout our government and the main stream media.
It is now widely known that there is sufficient evidence to conclude that Barack Obama is, according to the Constitution, an illegal President and has committed multiple felonies both in and out of office.
Members of Congress are deliberately hiding the truth from the American people. By doing so, every member of Congress is also committing a felony; know as “Misprision of felony.”
What are the citizens supposed to do when their government is committing crimes and considers itself above the law?
The republic is in grave danger because we now have a government of men, not of laws, and there is no longer any restraint against the commission of more extensive and intrusive criminal acts by those in power.
Our liberties are at risk.
We have elective despotism
We have elections, but we have members of Congress who feel absolutely no accountability to the electorate. We have elective despotism.
Obama is an illegal President according to Article II, Section I, Clause 5 of the Constitution and the binding precedent of Minor vs. Happersett (1875).

Rep. Brady (D – PA) has promised to introduce new legislation to criminalize any political speech which could be perceived as incendiary, and other Democrats suggested that there should be a blanket ban on all speech and symbols which might be conceivably interpreted as incendiary against members of Congress.
Of course the Courts are unlikely to agree with this, considering that The First Amendment, when it involves political speech, is pretty much a blank check and always has been – with good reason.
So that which they cannot get with the law, they instead turn to violating the Constitution by other means!
Rep. Louise Slaughter (D – NY) insisted that the FCC should work hard to restrict political speech that “could incite people,” adding that “no one owns the airwaves” and that she clearly felt the FCC was not doing enough to regulate political commentary nor to sanction those whose criticism were unacceptable to her.
By the way, if you’re wondering how freedom dies…. you’re seeing it.
Why is it now that we’re seeing this sort of reaction, and why is it that we have Congressfolk trying to introduce what amount to a bill granting Titles of Nobility, which are, I remind you, explicitly barred under The Constitution?
If it’s illegal to make a death threat against The President (it is), or a sitting Congressperson (it is), or a Judge (it is), then it should be equally unlawful and result in the same prosecution if someone makes the same threat aimed toward you or I.
Oh yeah, we had that too. The Tucson shooter allegedly made several death threats – against the Pima College administration, against talk show hosts in the area, and against bloggers.
All of which The Sheriff of Pima County refused to refer to the DA and file charges to prosecute.
Finally, for their part The Left never, ever posts in a public place a picture of, say, Ms. Palin about to blow her own brains out and proclaims “I hate it when I wake up and Sarah Palin is still alive”, right?

They all died in the name of American liberty. Just as assuredly as if they were casualties on a foreign battlefield.
They were killed by the evil which is the sworn enemy of our freedom and this Republic. In the guise of the terrorists on September 11th, or the Japanese at Pearl Harbor, or a monster with a gun at a Tucson supermarket, it is all the same. Different faces of the same beast. All attacks on us and what we hold dear.
The Speaker almost had it right.
An attack on one who serves is not just an attack on all who serve – it is an attack on all who are served.
A member of Congress is called a representative, and on Saturday morning Gabrielle Giffords was not just a representative of the 8th District of Arizona, she was a representative of us all and of our nation. She was engaged in her duties as an officer of our Constitution, she was there representing the United States of America.
And that is what was attacked.
In those duties, on that errand, fulfilling those responsibilities, violence born of evil or insanity was rained down upon her. It was not about her, it was about us, all of us, and the Republic which for more than two centuries our ancestors have jealously defended.
America was attacked, and in the wounding of Gabrielle Giffords, its defender was felled. Just as assuredly as if she had been in our uniform, in our military, on our bidding. Because she, like those in our military, swore an oath to uphold and defend the Constitution of the United States.
And that is what she was doing Saturday morning at the Safeway.
She was making certain that the people of Arizona had face-to-face access to their federal government. She was keeping open the doors of communication by opening them herself. She was not a politician, she was an officeholder, and she was there in her official capacity.
And she stood shoulder to shoulder with 300 million other Americans as she did so.
She was literally wounded in our service. Just like Abraham Lincoln and William McKinley and James A. Garfield. Lincoln was shot by a man who resented his successes as commander in chief, McKinley was shot by an anarchist who hated all government, and Garfield was shot by a man who supported his political opponents. These were political shootings, and so was the shooting of Gabrielle Giffords.

The Republican National Committee has signed on to endorse a proposal by Irish rocker Bono to commit American taxpayers to spending $30 million to “eliminate global poverty.”
As if any amount of tax payer funds would actually accomplish that goal. What usually happens is the money extracted from us to fund these wealth transfers first fills the pockets of foreign fat cat dictators while barely a trickle ends up lining empty food bowls.

History has shown us socialism does not work. Countries laboring under the delusion that Utopia can be achieved by making sure all have ‘what they need’ necessitates that relatively few must labor to provide for all. Bono’s ill-advised scheme is socialism. The Republican Party has agreed to consign Americans to the same fate as other socialist countries with its recent endorsement of Bono’s global goody bag.
Bono, the mouthpiece for environmentalism, global wealth transfer and socialist policy in general owns several opulent mansions throughout the world and travels by jet. The four engine behemoth he flies (while admonishing you to drive a hybrid) gets about 3 miles per gallon. (So much for the imperiled ozone, the Kyoto treaty and greenhouse gasses.)
