Vanity: Phone Service In Oklahoma Cut BEFORE Storms.MePosted on Tuesday, May 21, 2013 8:41:56 AM by ConservativeMan55So an interesting little note here

.But hours before the storms rolled into Oklahoma, most cell phone service across the state, and specifically in Northeast Oklahoma was cut.

No one could make any calls. Texting worked but no calls.

Why would this happen BEFORE the storms?

DNA-Destroying Chip Being Embedded Into Mobile Phones | ZenHaven

June 27, 2012 Leave a comment

According to Dr. Boian Alexandrov at the Center for Nonlinear Studies at Los Alamos National Laboratory in New Mexico, terahertz (THz) waves destroy human DNA.

The waves literally unzip the helix strand. Now a team of technologists at UT Dallas are planning to take chips broadcasting THz waves and embed them into mobile phones for use as an imaging system for consumers, law enforcement and medical personnel… a potentially deadly technology that could eventually kill or sicken millions of people

Prison Planet.com » Police Are Using Phone Tracking as a Routine Tool

April 1, 2012 Leave a comment

WASHINGTONLaw enforcement tracking of cellphones, once the province mainly of federal agents, has become a powerful and widely used surveillance tool for local police officials, with hundreds of departments, large and small, often using it aggressively with little or no court oversight, documents show.

The practice has become big business for cellphone companies, too, with a handful of carriers marketing a catalog of “surveillance fees” to police departments to determine a suspect’s location, trace phone calls and texts or provide other services. Some departments log dozens of traces a month for both emergencies and routine investigations.

By Alan Caruba  Monday, March 5, 2012imageThere was a time when, if my Mother wanted to call my aunt in the same state, it was a “long distance” call. Now we live in a time when everyone is “connected” by cell phones and the Internet. The government deems cell phones so essential it gives them away free to “the poor.”The explosion of “social networks” has us more “connected” and, to a large degree, it encourages the young and not-so-young to believe that every single thing they do each day is so important that it must be instantly communicated via the Internet.

I am not a Luddite who thinks that cell phones, the Internet, and other modern wonders are a bad thing. Much of my professional life is conducted via the Internet and often with people I have never met face to face. I have friends I have made via the Internet and others from a long ago past with whom I keep in contact via the Internet. Interpersonal communication is a good thing.

While Barack Hussein Obama has been busy transforming our nation into a Soviet-style Socialistic republic, the invention of the Internet and the likes of the late Steve Jobs, Mark Zuckerberg of Facebook, and the folks at Google have literally transformed our lives in ways we have only begun to comprehend……

When Jermaine Green and his fiancee Violet Roberts got on a Metro bus in Bellflower Monday night, they took notice of another passenger.

“The lady got on the bus with a stroller full of pillows, she was very polite, said hello to everyone and sat down,” Green said.

At the next stop, two LA County sheriff‘s deputies, one male and one female, boarded the bus and called the passenger by name.

“They said get off the bus. She then started cursing at (the female deputy). You could tell she had special needs. After that they grab her, she curses him out, calls him a big shot, next thing you know he gives her a big shot,” Green said.

Green captured the incident with his cell phone‘s video camera.

“It was like they were tired of dealing with her so they didn’t try to talk to her or anything,” Roberts said.

Prison Planet.com » Cell Phones Are Tracking Devices That Governments, Police, Big Corporations And Stalkers Can Use To Easily Track Your Movements

November 26, 2011 4 comments

If you regularly carry a cell phone around with you, you might as well say goodbye to your privacy. The truth is that any cell phone you buy is going to track you wherever you go 24 hours a day. Just as you leave “footprints” wherever you go on the Internet, so also your cell phone is constantly recording wherever you go in the physical world. Most people do not realize this, but the reality is that cell phones are tracking devices that governments, law enforcement authorities, big corporations and even stalkers can use to easily track your movements. If you do not know about this yet, then you are going to be absolutely amazed by what you are about to read. Not only do cell phones track you wherever you go, they can also be used to listen to your private conversations even when they are turned off. We live in a brave new world, and there are a lot of control freaks out there that love to monitor where we go and what we do. Unfortunately, it seems like every time technology advances, we lose a little bit more privacy. Eventually, we may wake up someday in a world where there is absolutely no privacy left.

Survey: Sexual harassment pervasive in grades 7-12

MSNBC ^ | 11/07/2011

Posted on Monday, November 07, 2011 8:37:46 PM by SeekAndFind

It can be a malicious rumor whispered in the hallway, a lewd photo arriving by cell phone, hands groping where they shouldn’t. Added up, it’s an epidemic — student-on-student sexual harassment that is pervasive in America‘s middle schools and high schools.

During the 2010-11 school year, 48 percent of students in grades 7-12 experienced some form of sexual harassment in person or electronically via texting, email and social media, according to a major national survey being released Monday by the American Association of University Women.

The harassers often thought they were being funny, but the consequences for their targets can be wrenching, according to the survey.

Nearly a third of the victims said the harassment made them feel sick to their stomach, affected their study habits or fueled reluctance to go to school at all.

“It’s reached a level where it’s almost a normal part of the school day,” said one of the report’s co-authors, AAUW director of research Catherine Hill. “It’s somewhat of a vicious cycle. The kids who are harassers often have been harassed themselves.”

Policing the Police: The Apps That Let You Spy on the Cops

June 29, 2011 Leave a comment

After the recent Vancouver riots, it became clear that the world is surveiling itself at an unprecedented scale. Angry citizens gave police one million photos and 1,000 hours of video footage to help them track down the rioters. If we aren’t living in a surveillance state run by the government, we’re certainly conducting a huge surveillance experiment on each other.

Which is what makes two new apps, CopRecorder and OpenWatch, and their Web component, OpenWatch.net, so interesting. They are the brainchildren of Rich Jones, a 23-year-old Boston University graduate who describes himself as “pretty much a hacker to the core.” Flush with cash and time from a few successful forays into the app market, nine months ago Jones decided to devote some of his time to developing what he calls “a global participatory counter-surveillance project which uses cellular phones as a way of monitoring authority figures.”

CopRecorder can record audio without indicating that it’s doing so like the Voice Memos app does. It comes with a built-in uploader to OpenWatch, so that Jones can do “analysis” of the recording and scrub any personally identifying data before posting the audio. He said he receives between 50 and 100 submissions per day, with a really interesting encounter with an authority figure coming in about every day and a half.

Presidential Texts From The Edge

President Obama has a PLAN. And by PLAN I mean The Personalized Localized Alerting Network, announced Monday, which will let government text you on your cell phone. PLAN is an extension of the Emergency Alert System we have all come to know, love and often be annoyed by.

That ear shattering belch of a screech we hear so often on the radio, usually followed by the announcement that “this is only a test”, has become pretty much standard for anyone that doesn’t have their head in the sand living a life of Unabomber simplicity.

Bad Time in Baltimore

A Time for Attention

.I found on the Drudge Report yesterday a cell-phone video of yet another attack against whites by feral blacks in the cities, in this case Baltimore, where in a McDonald’s two black females kicked a white girl into convulsions, presumably due to brain damage. It seems there was a dispute over precedence for the rest room.

You can see the video here, at the site of the American Renaissance. AmRen is regarded as racist, and is, but consists mostly of articles from legitimate newspapers. It doesn’t make up its facts. The comments at the bottom are interesting in that they represent the response to the beating by a large part of the American population.

Imagine driving in your automobile with your family on a bright, summer day and you hear a police cruiser‘s siren and the officer motions for you to pull over. The police officer walks up to your car and says hello using your full name without seeing your license.

Not only that, he requests your cellular phone, and within seconds knows your home address, workplace, work-related telephone numbers, pictures and personal Internet information. Welcome to the 21st Century.

If what’s happening in Michigan becomes the model for the rest of the country, Americans are in for a big surprise when they discover their secrets aren’t so secret anymore thanks to modern technology, say national security and civil rights professionals.

Facebook change exposes users’ contact details
The Telegraph ^ | 1/17/11 | Emma Barnett

Posted on Monday, January 17, 2011 8:05:35 AM by markomalley

Late on Friday evening, Facebook made the tweak to its developer terms, via its blog, saying: “We are now making a user’s address and mobile phone number accessible [to developers],” prompting security experts to warn people to remove their personal contact details from the site immediately.

Moving forward, whenever a Facebook user accepts the terms and conditions of downloading an app, such as a game or a video developed for the platform by a third party company, they will also be allowing that company access to their mobile telephone number and address, if they have previously loaded that information into their profile.

“This change isn’t as drastic as it might first appear, because users will need to give permission for third-party Facebook applications to access this data,” explained Graham Cluley, senior technology consultant at IT security and control firm Sophos. “But it still sounds like a recipe for disaster, given the prevalence of rogue scam applications already on Facebook – all of which benefit from apparently being blessed by the Facebook name and brand.”

According to Sophos, Facebook is already plagued by rogue applications which solely exist to post spam links to users’ walls, point users to survey scams that earn them commission – and sometimes even trick users into handing over their mobile numbers to sign them up for a premium rate service.

SAN DIEGO — John Tyner won’t be pheasant hunting in South Dakota with his father-in-law any time soon.Tyner was simultaneously thrown out of San Diego International Airport on Saturday morning for refusing to submit to a security check and threatened with a civil suit and $10,000 fine if he left. And he got the whole thing on his cell phone.

“I was surprised to see them,” said Tyner.

Postal Worker Secretly Films Customer’s Racist Rant

November 12, 2010 Leave a comment

Things got ugly when a black mail carrier refused to take back a letter he’d delivered to a lady in Hingham, Mass. She went on a racist rant and slapped him. He secretly taped it all on his cell phone.

The argument in the video is sparked by a certified letter that the mail carrier delivers. The woman has signed for it, but decides she doesn’t want it because it’s addressed to her husband, not her.

But the mail guy won’t take it back. Things go sour when she calls him a “F n thief.” She quickly qualifies: “I’m not prejudiced but right now I’m getting real pissed off.”

Then everything she says afterward is so racist it would make George Wallace blush.

Finally she slaps him. Just your normal day on the mail route.

Study looks closer at texting while driving

October 31, 2010 Leave a comment

Five seconds may not seem like a long time, but for drivers, it could mean a lifetime.A recent study by the Virginia Tech Transportation Institution revealed a driver takes their eyes off the road for an average of five seconds to send a text message. Traveling at 70 mph, that is 29 car lengths.“Driving is by far the most dangerous thing we do on a daily basis,” said Lt. Larry Williams with the Johnson City Police Department. “Every tenth of a second is important.”

According to State Farm Insurers, October is the most dangerous month for teen drivers, with 10 percent of accidents involving 16- and 17-year-olds occurring then. The same Virginia Tech study found that teen drivers are four times more likely than adults to get into car crashes or near crashes due to cell phone use of any kind.Excerpt Read more at johnsoncitypress.com …

But a campaign spokesman confirmed it was Brian May, who signed the rules agreement before the Monday evening debate. The incident took place at the CNN/St. Petersburg Times Florida gubernatorial debate when Sink’s make-up artist delivered a two-sentence message on a cell phone during a break.

Republican nominee Rick Scott, who was sitting next to Sink in the nationally televised debate, noticed the violation and notified a CNN official. The CNN official approached the make-up artist and Sink, and confiscated the cell phone.

FACEBOOK PROBLEM Vanity

Maybe some of you high tech types can help me here. I have a Facebook account. I had one for several months, but all of a sudden, Facebook now requires me to verify my account before I can post anything. The only ways offered are to link the account to a mobile phone or to provide Facebook with a valid credit card.

Well, I don’t have a mobile phone and I don’t get why I would want to give Facebook a credit card number which it could use fraudulently. There should not be any charges for using Facebook. There is a tech support/help page, which provides me with little if any useable information on the subject. Nowhere is there a tech support telephone number I can call.So if any of you Facebook subscribers/techies can help — I would appreciate it. Thank you!
