Here’s a surprise for you; some Governors have absolutely zero understanding of the Constitution. None, whatsoever. Montana Governor Steve Bullock seems to fit that description quite nicely.

Yesterday, he vetoed Montana House Bill 302 (HB302). The bill would require the state to refuse to enforce or assist the enforcement of any federal bans on semiautomatic weapons or large capacity magazines. The bill states, in part:

Congressman Ron Paul [R-TX.], who isn’t running for anything (except President in the State of Montana) wants to change the outcome of the upcoming national election. Dr. Paul, accompanied by three longshot presidential candidates at the National Press Club on Wednesday, Sept. 10, opened his speech saying “The coverage of the presidential election is designed to be a grand distraction…

The truth is that our two-party system offers no real choice…” Offered by Dr. Paul at the Press Club as the preferred candidates you should first consider voting for were three longshot candidates that the Congressman attempted to package as a “third party choice.”

First was conservative Crossroads Baptist Church pastor Chuck Baldwin. When conservatives speak about Sen. Barack Obama‘s qualifications to pick up the red phone at 3 a.m., his under-two-years of political experience dwarfs Baldwin’s complete and utter lack of anything that could even remotely be construed as political experience.

The same can be said about longshot liberal citizen’s advocate and environmentalist Ralph Nader who, granted, has been a fixture around DC for more years than most of us have lived. But, like Baldwin, he has no political experience that qualifies him to sit in the Oval Office.

While most big-box chain stores and restaurants love to pander to leftist causes, two national restaurant chains recently dived into the public fray on the side of political incorrectness. Denny’s restaurant made a commercial extolling the right to keep and bear arms as part of America’s greatness, and the Chick-fil-A president made a statement that his company supports “the biblical definition of the family unit.” Predictably, the left has gone ballistic–especially in their paranoid reaction to Chick-fil-A president Dan Cathy’s comment.

Nothing sweet about heckling Obama in the Rose Garden

What does conservative pundit Tucker Carlson have to do with an outhouse in Montana?

More than you might think.

Over the weekend, the Montana Republican Party proved wrong those of us who believe our political discourse has gone down the toilet. In fact, our political discourse has gone to a place where there isn’t even plumbing.

Outside the Montana GOP convention in Missoula stood an outhouse labeled “Obama Presidential Library” and painted as though it had been shot full of holes, according to the local paper. Inside, a fake birth certificate for “Barack Hussein Obama” was stamped with an expletive referring to bovine droppings. A message in the structure gave fake phone numbers for Michelle Obama, Hillary Clinton and Nancy Pelosi “For a Good Time.”

Prison Planet.com » How To Avoid Voting For A Globalist Puppet

January 24, 2012 Leave a comment

This article first appeared at Alt Market

Only a few days ago I attended a community meeting here in the Flathead Valley of Montana which revolved around the first of a series of gubernatorial debates covered by webcast across the state. The number of Republican candidates vying in the primaries of this election is a bit absurd, and after witnessing the half-hearted or outright fake performances by most of them, I can see quite clearly that the state of Montana is being targeted by Neo-Con interests posing as Constitutionalists in an attempt to neutralize the extraordinary advance of the Liberty Movement here.

What struck me most sharply was the fact that almost every candidate vying for the governor’s slot had taken on elements of the Liberty Movement philosophy. The elections of 2012 and the immense success of the Ron Paul campaign have so far proven without a doubt that the anti-globalist, anti-totalitarian, anti-collectivist stance is now part of a growing majority in America. Just as we have forced Neo-Con candidates in the Presidential primaries to at least pretend that they care about freedom (quite a change from the Bush years), so too are Republican impostors forced to mimic us in the battle for state offices.

The Barack Obama administration is quietly in the process of rigging use of the US Census of 2010, which deliberately counted millions of illegal aliens, for the purpose of restructuring the apportionment of the US House of Representatives. Accordingly, as candidates for Governor and Lieutenant Governor of one of the negatively affected states (Montana), Mr. Bob Fanning and I have joined with several others in becoming amici curiae in a pending federal lawsuit brought by the State of Louisiana against the US Secretary of Commerce, et al., which was filed January, 13, 2012 in the United States Supreme Court.

Timothy N. Baldwin — Candidate for Montana Attorney General, Jim Shockley, Holds Shocking View of the Constitution

January 4, 2012 4 comments

Synopsis

Candidate for Montana Attorney General, Jim Shockley, stated while sitting in his official capacity as Montana Senator that original and true meaning of state sovereignty, as expressed in the tenth amendment of the United States Constitution, was changed and ridded by the Civil War.

Shockley’s position is completely incorrect constitutionally and historically. Moreover, it is dangerous to Montana’s rights and to the liberties of Montanans. Any attorney holding this view of the constitution does not qualify to serve as Montana’s next Attorney General.

I. Montana’s 2012 Attorney General Must Hold Correct View of the U.S. Constitution

Of all people who must understand, respect, and protect the system of federalism prescribed in the United States Constitution, it should be a State’s Attorney General. To qualify for this trusted position, one must know the true meaning, nature, and character of the United States Constitution. As well, he must understand America’s origins of political philosophy to guide his thoughts and conclusions relative to the oath of office to which he swears. Without this, the State will be in jeopardy of losing rights and will have obligations it otherwise would not have. The State would suffer politically, socially, and economically years afterwards.

Some are asking me why I, as the Constitution Party (CP) candidate for President in 2008, would run in a State race as a Republican. The motto of the CP is “Principle Over Politics.” For example, in 2008, the Montana State Constitution Party put a Republican, Ron Paul, on their Presidential ballot. So, there is certainly precedence for a constitutionalist running as a Republican in the State of Montana.

Is HB 1505 a backdoor to shutting down the Bakken Range? « Coach is Right

October 16, 2011 2 comments

By Suzanne Eovaldi, staff writer

The Queens and Kings in our Congress have shut off their employers’ ability to email them in their throne rooms to protest the proposed obscene land grab along our northern border region by the Division of Homeland Security!

What’s hard to understand is why House Bill 1505, now euphemistically called National Security and Federal Lands Protection Act, is even being allowed the light of day. What’s worse, we can’t even email our elected officials anymore but have to pay to contact them via fax or phone. Conservativeusa.org is reporting “Offices no longer use email addresses so there is no way to send a message.”

So let’s walk this issue back and look at what’s really going on. The DHS wants to lop off the top 1/3 of Montana, the top half of Washington and North Dakota as well as a similar take over of New York, Vermont, New Hampshire and Maine ostensibly to protect us from all of the drug cartels, crazed fast and furious gun runners and border jumpers coming in from peaceful Canada. What, you say? Why is the Obama administration so aggressively attempting to secure our peaceful northern border while continuing to allow our fast and furious wide open southern border to remain an open crime and drug door into our country?

Remember when Obama…..

Chuck Baldwin — Freedom Lost

October 5, 2011 Leave a comment

……The report states, “Once upon a time, our founders thought that they were guaranteeing our freedoms by adding a Bill of Rights to the Constitution.

“But today there are a lot of freedoms that we simply do not have any longer.

“In America today, you do not have the right to say whatever you want. If you say the wrong thing on a blog or a website it can have dramatic consequences.

“In America today, you do not have the right to do raise your own children as you see fit.

“In America today, you do not have the right to grow whatever food you want and you do not have the right to eat whatever food you do grow.

“In America today, you do not have the right to be free from unreasonable search and seizure.

“In America today, you do not have a right to privacy. In fact, you should expect that everything that you do is watched, tracked, monitored and recorded.”

The report then goes on to list several real-life examples to prove the assessments listed above.

See the American Dream report.

And, of course, the ultimate symbol of a free people is the right to keep and bear arms. And while most states theoretically recognize a citizen’s right to own and possess a gun, the vast majority of them only do so–not as a right guaranteed to a free people by their Creator–but as a privilege granted to approved subjects by the limited benevolence of the State. At last count, only four states recognize the right of their citizens to keep and bear arms without any kind of State license: Alaska, Arizona, Vermont, and Wyoming.

(For clarification, the State of Montana allows open carry Statewide and concealed carry in unincorporated areas, but people carrying concealed in incorporated cities, must have a CCW permit. We passed legislation this year to expunge the incorporated city CCW requirement, but our Democrat governor vetoed it. But Montana will be the fifth State soon!)…..

New Boom Reshapes Oil World, Rocks North Dakota

September 25, 2011 1 comment

Two years ago, America was importing about two thirds of its oil. Today, according to the Energy Information Administration, it imports less than half. And by 2017, investment bank Goldman Sachs predicts the US could be poised to pass Saudi Arabia and overtake Russia as the world’s largest oil producer.

Places like Williston are the reason why.

“For many years, they knew that there was oil in that area, but the technology wasn’t available to get it out,” the town’s mayor, Ward Koeser, tells weekends on All Things Considered host Guy Raz.

But in the last few years, advances in such technologies as “fracking” and horizontal drilling have made, by some estimates, as much as 11 billion barrels of oil available in the Bakken formation under North Dakota and Montana.

“There’s oil companies coming from all over the country now.” Koeser says.

Williston has skipped the recession entirely. Unemployment there is less than 2 percent. The population, the mayor estimates, has grown from 12,000 to 20,000 in the last four years.

“We actually have probably between 2,000 and 3,000 job openings in Williston right now,” Koeser says.

Rep. Paul Broun Introduces Concealed Carry Recognition Bill(House of Representatives)

September 23, 2011 Leave a comment

Washington, DC –(Ammoland.com)- Pro-gun champion Rep. Paul Broun (R-GA) recently introduced a concealed carry recognition bill, H.R. 2900, that allows law-abiding citizens who can legally carry concealed in their home state to carry all across the country, as well.

Titled “The Secure Access to Firearms Enhancement (SAFE) Act,” this legislation recognizes that constitutional rights do not become null and void at the state line.

And, most importantly, Rep. Broun’s bill is “constitutional carry” friendly. The SAFE Act recognizes that while CCW permits are the “norm” in most states, constitutional carry is the ideal.

For more than twenty years, Gun Owners of America has pushed constitutional carry (also known as Vermont-style carry) at the state level. Such legislation recognizes the right to carry without having to first get the government’s permission.

After all, how much of a right is protected by the Second Amendment if citizens must first pass tests, fill out applications, take classes and, in many cases, be fingerprinted and photographed to obtain a license—in essence, to prove to the authorities that they’re not criminals before being allowed to carry?

Vermont had it right for over a century. Any person can carry a concealed firearm—whether they are a resident of the state or not—except for use in the commission of a crime. That’s it. No registration, no paperwork, no arbitrary denials by anti-gun bureaucrats.

And the result? Vermont consistently ranks among the safest states in the country.

And other states are finally starting to follow suit. Three states (Alaska, Arizona, and Wyoming) have passed constitutional carry laws for their own citizens. Texas passed a modified version, allowing for a concealed firearm anywhere inside one’s vehicle, including motor homes. And since 1991, constitutional carry has been allowed in more than 99% of the state of Montana.

Even with these improvements, however, reciprocal agreements between states are written in such a way that an actual permit is still required in order to carry concealed from state to state.

And in many instances, there is NO way to legally carry concealed in another state.

Rep. Broun’s bill addresses this issue in a way that respects the Constitution and in a way that recognizes the unalienable right to defend one’s life—without needing a permit from the government.

Just as GOA works to eliminate government restrictions on carry at the state level, GOA has never supported a bill at the national level that stops short of recognizing constitutional carry.

After all, a bill that requires states to implement a permitting system risks setting back the efforts of the many states seeking to pass real concealed carry reform.

The SAFE Act also respects the Constitution and states’ powers in that it does NOT establish national standards for concealed carry, nor does it provide for a national carry permit or require a state like Vermont to move to a permit system (in order for its citizens to carry out-of-state).

In fact, the Broun bill will do nothing to change what the states already do in terms of allowing or denying their citizens their right to carry firearms. This bill simply allows citizens who are able to carry in their home state, to also carry in every other state that allows concealed carry.

Another important distinction is that Rep. Broun’s bill, unlike other legislation being debated in Congress, does not rely on an expansive, erroneous interpretation of the Commerce Clause. The SAFE Act instead recognizes the “full faith and credit” protection that is guaranteed in Article IV of the Constitution.

Constitutionally-protected rights, including the right to self-defense, do not disappear at the state line. Rep. Broun’s SAFE Act will simply allow lawful gun owners who have the right carry concealed firearms in their home state to also carry in other states.

“hose actually involved in or having personal knowledge of the Expo), whose ideology is seemingly similar to SPLC and who is given assumed credibility similar to SPLC regardless of political ideology or agenda. The article continues to draw its connection:

“Others include patriot leader and former Constitution Party vice presidential candidate Chuck Baldwin, who believes the U.S. is headed for a fight between big-government globalists and independent patriots; Stewart Rhodes, founder of Oath Keepers, which wants law enforcement officers and military personnel to sign an oath against a one-world government conspiracy” (interestingly, the AP report fails to acknowledge Chuck Baldwin was also the presidential candidate in 2008 and only mentions his V.P. candidacy in 2004).

So, what conclusion of connections does this article attempt to make (which Yahoo.com felt was homepage, nationwide newsworthy)? Answer: any person who undermines, fundamentally questions or denounces the authority and power of the federal government and its thousands of bureaucracies over the reserved authority and rights of the individuals and States is an extremist, antigovernment, full of hate and a potential terrorist.

To effectuate their conclusions, SPLC produces and disburses potential terrorist threat lists. This brings me to my second point of disturbing concern.”

Montana, where real America still lives

March 27, 2011 Leave a comment

Montana, America’s last best place, is looking to legislate three very common sense initiatives that point the entire country in the right direction. With its Democratic Governor and two Democratic U.S. Senators, Montana’s Republican legislature plans to introduce a broad state nullification act that will block any federal law considered by Montanans to be unconstitutional.

House Bill No. 382 sponsored by Rep. Derek Skees is titled “An act prohibiting infringement of the state of Montana’s constitutional right to nullification of any federal statute, mandate, or executive order considered unconstitutional by the state.” The bill even provides for a retroactive date for its application.

This bill is being championed by MG Paul Vallely (ret.) a Bigfork native, heads up the Patriots Union which has distributed this bill model to 30 state legislatures through a large patriots network of conservatives. MT Bill No. 382 is based on the format of the Model State Nullification Reaffirmation Act of Wyoming.

A notion of a well regulated militia as covered by our U.S. Constitution also is taking shape in Montana’s halls of state governance. House Bill No. 278, sponsored by Rep. Wendy Warburton of Havre, calls for “home guards” of legally authorized law abiding Montanans to answer to the governor and sheriffs during emergencies.

Citing the Katrina debacle of un-preparedness, Warbuton says the “slow response and poor organization” during major disasters prompted her to sponsor this bill. “Really the bill is just about local volunteers being prepared in case of emergency to support the National Guard, support the sheriff, support the governor as needed.” she said. ….

The wonderful Code of the West is the third……. Living each day with courage, taking pride in your daily work, and always finishing what you start seem like a plan to me.

Chuck Baldwin — My Response To A Newspaper Editor

I believe it would be beneficial for my readers nationwide to read, not only the two newspaper reports and editorial regarding my move to Montana–and the speech I gave on that Tuesday night–but also my response to the Beacon’s Kellyn Brown.

Therefore, what follows is the column that I wrote for the Flathead Beacon.[Start of the column sent to the Flathead Beacon] I want to thank Kellyn Brown for welcoming me to the Flathead Valley with his editorial in the January 28, 2011, Flathead Beacon. I am honored that he would devote an entire editorial to my speech. I wish, however, that Kellyn had been a little more accurate in his assessment of what I said. After all, he is the paper’s Editor-in-Chief.Kellyn opened his column saying, “Chuck Baldwin moved to Montana a few months ago and has vowed to mold the state into what he thinks it should look like.”Kellyn, where and when did you hear me say that? My family and I including 5 heads of households, and a total of 18 people–11 of whom are here now, and 7 more arriving this spring did not move here to mold the wonderful State of Montana into anything.

We came here because we love the mold that makes Montana what it is: an independent, self-reliant, freedom-loving State. If we wanted to mold Montana into someplace else, we would have moved or stayed there!Kellyn then takes great liberty with one statement I made out of an hour-long speech by saying, “The litmus test for becoming a ‘real Montanan,’ according to Baldwin, is determined by whether you agree with him…………………….

The Montana Shooting Sports Association, the Second Amendment Foundation and MSSA President Gary Marbut of Missoula have filed a notice of appeal with the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals of their lawsuit that seeks affirmation of the state law.The MFFA “is designed to test the power of Congress to regulate everything without limits under the narrow power given to Congress in the Constitution to ‘regulate commerce … among the states,’” according to a report today from the plaintiffs.Learn what you can do about your nation. Get “Taking America Back,” Joseph Farah‘s manifesto for sovereignty, self-reliance and moral renewalThe dispute isn’t complicated: the state law “declares that any firearms, ammunition and firearm accessories made and retained in Montana are not subject to any federal authority under the Commerce Clause,” because those items are not in “interstate commerce.”It’s been so popular that besides the original law in Montana, seven other states also have adopted their own versions of the same plan over the course of one legislation session for the states.

WHY WE ARE MOVING TO MONTANA

By now, readers of this column should be aware of the decision my family and I made to leave the beautiful Gulf Coast beaches, and move to the majestic Rocky Mountains: the Flathead Valley of Montana, to be specific. Mind you, Pensacola, Florida, has been my wife’s and my home for 35 years. It is the place where each of our children was born and raised, and still resides today. Rest assured, each of my family is aware of the cold weather climate to which we are headed. We are also very cognizant of the extremely difficult economic circumstances that exist. The truth is, if we were basing this move on things such as “practicality,” or “job opportunity,” or “a place to retire,” we would either 1) stay where we are, or 2) move somewhere else (someplace warmer), because this move, in many ways, is impractical, financially challenging, and could bring personal discomfort to all of us during those harsh Montana winters. The fact is, none of that has any bearing on our decision to move.

I know unbelievers and skeptics have a hard time when I say this, but, we are moving to the Flathead Valley of Montana for the same reason we moved to Pensacola, Florida, 35 years ago: we know it is God‘s perfect will for our lives. Period. Why else would we do it? Why would we leave the comfort and security of home, family, and friends? Why would we attempt such a major move in such an economically depressed housing and job market? Why would I walk away from the church that my wife and I started and have poured our hearts and souls into for over 35 years, and that took such very good care of us? On a human level, this move makes absolutely no sense. But as Christians, we are not supposed to live our lives on a purely human level, are we?

Where have we and the country traveled since then…what paths have we taken? We pay tribute to all of our fellow Americans and their families that have sacrificed their lives for this great land. God Bless all of them! But now as we celebrate America, we at the same time must Stand Up For America and cherish what our founders and forefathers and Mothers laId out for us in 1776 in wonderful values and traditions.

Today, as much as then, We are the Masters of our Fate and the Captains of our Soul……. I quote:

Chuck Baldwin — We Hit A Nerve

September 7, 2010 Leave a comment

My column last week announcing my family’s and my decision to leave Pensacola, Florida, and move to Montana must have hit a nerve–and that’s putting it mildly. Between my son, Tim, and I, we have received hundreds no hyperbole of emails. In fact, we have received hundreds of emails just from people who live in Montana.

Altogether, the response has been overwhelmingly positive and congratulatory. But in truth, the reaction was much deeper than that.See my column announcing our move to Montana. Our decision to leave the sunny south and move to Montana has produced an avalanche of responses such as paraphrased, “My family and I were praying about where to move, and now we know,” and “God has already been moving in our hearts to do the same thing that you and your family are doing, Chuck,” and “Make room for us,” and “We just moved to Idaho, so we’ll be neighbors,” and “We know you are following God’s will,” and “We understand what you are doing and are praying for you,” etc., etc. We have received hundreds of emails such as these. As I said in my previous column, I believe Montana and surrounding states is in store for a FREEDOM RUSH. People all over America instinctively realize that things cannot keep going the way they are. The tyrannical tentacles of Washington, D.C., are making life a proverbial hell on earth for people all over the country, and, unfortunately, many if not most states are unwilling to resist the Crown’s excuse me, DC’s evil machinations.

So, in the hearts of freedom-loving people there burns the question, “What do we do?” My family and I have answered that question.

Our move is in response to the direct and definite revelation of God, in much the same way that our Pilgrim and Pioneer ancestors followed God’s guiding light. But, just as our patriot forebears met with intense opposition, so have we. We hit a nerve all right! As soon as the announcement was made, Big-Government loyalists some calling themselves Christians, to boot began attacking me in the most vehement manner possible. The meanest and most cruel accusations, lies, distortions, etc., that one could think of were instantly hurled against my family and me.

Thank God, the faithful members of Crossroad Baptist Church where I pastored for 35 years understand my heart and–though hurt–have overwhelmingly expressed their support and love for us.

Fans of the CBS-terminated TV series JERICHO will recognize the name “Ravenwood.” This was the ruthless mercenary force used by the illegitimate federal government at Cheyenne to subjugate the citizens of Kansas in the aftermath of a massive nuclear attack against two dozen American cities. As with much of JERICHO’s superbly written story line, Ravenwood reflected real-world entities. Private mercenary forces have been used extensively throughout the Iraq and Afghanistan wars, as well as in many other theaters. And as JERICHO correctly depicted, these “private contractors” have largely operated without oversight or accountability. (Can anyone say, “Blackwater”?) For the most part, the American people are unfamiliar with these mercenary forces, because they normally operate in foreign theaters of war. JERICHO put them on the streets of U.S. cities. Now it looks like JERICHO was more prophecy than fiction.

An underreported (what’s new?) story out of a little town in Montana has brought real-life drama to the CBS blockbuster TV series. Interestingly enough, CBS is the only major news network that has covered the Montana story.

Congressman Ron Paul [R-TX.], who isn’t running for anything (except President in the State of Montana) wants to change the outcome of the upcoming national election. Dr. Paul, accompanied by three longshot presidential candidates at the National Press Club on Wednesday, Sept. 10, opened his speech saying “The coverage of the presidential election is designed to be a grand distraction…The truth is that our two-party system offers no real choice…”Offered by Dr. Paul at the Press Club as the preferred candidates you should first consider voting for were three longshot candidates that the Congressman attempted to package as a “third party choice.” First was conservative Crossroads Baptist Church pastor Chuck Baldwin.

And while the office of President is on-the-job training for every new chief executive, the core knowledge of running a nation must already exist in that new President at 12:01:01 p.m. on January 20, 2009 because at that time, its too late for a new president to crack open a textbook called “Politics 101: A Primer On Being President.”
