At the opening of CPAC 2013, Senator Rand Paul (R-KY) picked up where he left off in his 13 hour filibuster last week. Paul took off the gloves and went after Barack Obama on indefinite detention, defending the Constitution, and unlawfully killing American citizens. He also spoke on debt and foolish and frivolous spending and when he touched on foreign aid he said, “I say not one penny more to countries that are burning our flag.”

This is a theory that I have put together to make the case for Obama seizing power. Mr. Speaker I rise to oppose what will be the final National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) I will face as a Member of the US House of Representatives. As many of my colleagues are aware, I have always voted against the NDAA regardless of what party controls the House.

Far from simply providing an authorization for the money needed to defend this country, which I of course support, this authorization and its many predecessors have long been used to fuel militarization, enrich the military industrial complex, expand our empire overseas, and purchase military and other enormously expensive equipment that we do not need and in large part does not work anyway.
They wrap all of this mess up in false patriotism, implying that Members who do not vote for these boondoggles do not love their country.

Some Republicans are siding with Democrats around the proposition that online sales should be taxed. Now, Congress is adding a rider to the National Defense Authorization Act that would allow such a tax. The so-called Marketplace Fairness Act, which also has a House counterpart, the Marketplace Equity Act, will allow states to collect sales taxes on retailers who are located out of state.

In December of 2011 on New Year’s Eve, President Barack Obama signed the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA), declaring the entire United States a “battlefield” and giving the U.S. government the right to detain an American citizen indefinitely and even assassinate them, if they are suspected of terrorism—without due process.
Then, in March of 2012, Obama signed the National Defense Resources Preparedness Executive Order (NDRP) that effectively declares peacetime martial law, giving the President authority over food and water, production, fuel, transportation, livestock and more if the government decides it is an emergency.

Since September 11, 2001, the government has found every way to make exceptions to our Fourth Amendment protections and claim legal right to search and seizure of our private property—all in the name of safety, of course.
But haven’t the terrorists “won” when America ceases to be America? They want to kill our freedoms and they want us to live in fear. They don’t have to do much, because our own government is moving their agenda along by killing our Constitution.
The average, law-abiding American may not see the small yet consistent changes in our Bill of Rights protections, but we are the ones who need to pay attention to these attacks on our freedom and stop them before government takes total control.

Judge Napolitano: I think he probably continues to go around the country, keeping the dialogue going of small government and maximum individual liberty. I think he probably passes the mantel to his son, Senator Paul. Senator Paul and Governor Johnson probably battle it out and if they can’t come to some kind of agreement as to who will personify human freedom and who, in public life, will be the champion of it.

I think that’s probably a good thing because I think the movement will continue to grow.
With Congressman Paul free from congressional duties he might actually stir up the pot even more then he’s done already. My next book, which comes out after election day, is an assault on the progressive era, dedicated to Ron Paul in large measure because no person in these times has done more to remind people about the loss of liberty than he. He has been an inspiration to millions and among those millions is me.

Welcome to the beautiful and surreal reality of life under American corporatism, under a Congress that churns out thousands and thousands of pages of (often contradictory) legislation a year.
If providing material assistance to al-Qaeda is illegal under the National Defence Authorization Act (2012), and Obama and Congress are sending $25 million of aid to al-Qaeda-affiliated Syrian opposition, aren’t Congress and President Obama violating their own law? Should Obama (or at least the Justice Department) not be using “all necessary and appropriate force” including “the power to indefinitely detain” to prevent Obama and Congress from assisting al-Qaeda? Did anyone in Congress or the Obama administration even bother to read the law that they were signing? Do Federal laws no longer apply to lawmakers?

Over the past week, the Internet and talk radio have been buzzing about an Executive Order quietly signed by President Obama that allegedly authorizes the Department of Homeland Security to get ready to shut down all domestic communication in case of a declared national emergency. Let me repeat: All domestic communication, which includes “New Generation Systems” – a.k.a. the Internet – within the United States.
Just exactly what qualifies as a “national emergency” is not clearly defined. But something tells me we’ll soon find out.

For three years Barack Hussein Obama and his handlers have labored to create a functioning dictatorship in the midst of a constitutional republic.
It was shamefully easy at first. With unassailable majorities in House and Senate, even a Republican leadership unafraid to contest the excesses of the first black president would have been powerless to slow the implementation of his agenda.
The left passed ObamaCare, giving itself the means of executing a calculated program of attrition against millions of reliably Republican seniors. At the same time, a corrupt Department of Justice worked to undermine the 2nd Amendment, interfered with the effort of states to legislate against voter fraud and facilitated the entry of millions of illegals by refusing to enforce immigration law.
Even a disastrous midterm election has not slowed Obama’s acquisition of power as 190 House Republicans helped vote into law the infamous National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA), providing the Commander and Chief unlimited authority to detain and imprison without due process any American he considers a threat to national security.

It is my studied opinion that as long as pastors and churches allow themselves to be held captive by the IRS and its godless 501c3 corporation status, a spiritual revival will never take place in this country! Many people understand this and, therefore, they are moving to the Flathead Valley from all over America to be part of Liberty Fellowship. They are tired of their pastors and churches being muzzled and intimidated into compromise and lethargy. And they are equally weary of being considered an outcast or renegade by these preachers and churches who don’t have a clue as to what is going on in this country–or if they do, are too spineless to do anything about it! They are looking for a patriot Christian brotherhood, and they are finding it at Liberty Fellowship! It is obvious that God is bringing a Remnant to the Flathead Valley of Montana!

My personal philosophy regarding socio/political issues is quite simple: I believe abortion is America’s national holocaust. It is the deliberate killing of innocent pre-born babies. I believe marriage is, by definition, only between a man and a woman. I believe the Declaration of Independence and Bill of Rights to be the greatest documents of freedom ever produced by man. I believe the federal government is bound to submit to the limited duties prescribed to it by the US Constitution. I believe America’s Founding Fathers to be the greatest generation of Christian philosophers and patriots to ever live. I believe in the right of the people to keep and bear arms.
I believe there is a conspiracy by powerful elitists to surrender America’s independence and national sovereignty to a globalist New World Order. I believe the Council on Foreign Relations, Trilateral Commission, and Bilderbergers are especially culpable in this regard.
I further believe that the current effort to merge the United States into a North American Community (by whatever name it is called) and the push to provide amnesty (not to mention billions in federal tax dollars) to millions of illegal aliens comprise a grave threat to America. I am also convinced that there is a bold and blatant attempt underfoot to turn the United States into a police-state-style surveillance society, to which personal freedoms and liberties are being quickly and egregiously sacrificed. Passage of the USA Patriot Act and the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) are examples of this flagrant betrayal of liberty.
I opposed the preemptive invasion of Iraq and the bombings of Libya. It should be obvious to everyone that the Obama administration has done nothing–and will do nothing–to change the perpetual war/preemptive war doctrine introduced by George W. Bush. And neither would Mitt Romney should he be elected President. Ron Paul is the only Presidential candidate of either major party who opposes foreign meddling and interventionism.
As to Afghanistan, I strongly supported Ron Paul’s Marque and Reprisal Act of 2001, which was (and still is) the constitutional way to resist the efforts of violent terrorist groups such as Al Qaeda.
I opposed the bailouts for Wall Street. I regard the Federal Reserve as a corrupt cabal of international banksters, whose actions are nothing short of criminal. I wholeheartedly support the abolition of the Federal Reserve and a return to sound money.
I believe the United Nations is a sinister organization from which the United States should withdraw. I believe the federal government taxes too much, spends too much, lies too much, and snoops too much into the personal lives of the American people.

One such exercise in February 2011 dubbed “Urban Operations Training” involved military Humvees and 27 armed soldiers conducting a drill around the Bridge Street area of Crookston.According to “Maggie,” the woman who took the photograph, when she started taking pictures of the troops one of them told her, “Just training Ma’am. Joining up with another patrol at the rally point.”When Maggie asked why they were training on the streets of a quiet residential area, a younger soldier responded,
“To be honest ma’am, I don’t know.”Members of the same Guard unit shown on the photograph – Minnesota National Guard, Unit 2-136 CAB / B Company – have been deployed to Iraq where their duties would potentially have included rounding up alleged insurgents and taking them to prison camps, a frightening prospect given that the recently passed National Defense Authorization Act allows for American citizens to be similarly kidnapped and detained without trial.National Guard troops are routinely involved in ‘urban warfare training’ drills but they usually take place within the confines of military bases.
Many fear that the increasing presence of armed soldiers patrolling residential neighborhoods is a precursor to martial law.Indeed, back in 2008 the Washington Post reported how 20,000 U.S. troops returning from Iraq would be stationed inside America under Northcom for purposes of “domestic security” from September 2011 onwards.Northcom officials were forced to subsequently issue a denial after the Army Times initially reported that the troops would be used to deal “with civil unrest and crowd control.”
