After spending last week mocking Alex Jones for believing in crazy conspiracies, last night Glenn Beck put forth his own theory about how President Obama is seeking to foment civil war in America, the catalyst of which will be an executive order he issues gutting the Second Amendment.
As Beck foresees it, Obama will initially accept some sort of compromise gun control legislation from Congress but then start complaining that it didn’t go far enough while waiting patiently for another high-profile gun crime to take place which he can then use as evidence that the compromise legislation was insufficient and thus provide justification for issuing an executive order banning and confiscating weapons.

Sheriff Pat Sullivan, who ran the Columbine investigation, was arrested last year and convicted of coercing sexual favors from a child in exchange for methamphetamine. His ridiculously short sentence, served in the jail that bears his name, amounted to a slap on the wrist. Rumor has it that Sullivan is part of a pedophile network along the lines of the Finders of Lost Children and the perpetrators of the Franklin Scandal child sex ring.

I have been called a lot of things since I began writing about ten years ago on the folly of the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, the evils of the U.S. military, and the belligerence of U.S. foreign policy.
Many of the things I have been called I can’t repeat because they are so vile and filthy. However, the negative e-mails have tapered off quite a bit over the years since these wars have turned out to be such debacles.

One charge that has been consistently leveled against me is that I am unpatriotic because I don’t “support the troops” as they invade and occupy other countries and mete out death and destruction to “insurgents” and “terrorists.” But who is really being unpatriotic? I think it is long past time that we question the patriotism of those who do “support the troops” in their foreign wars, occupations, interventions, and escapades.

Let’s take the case of Syria.
For months now we have heard how the United States must “do something” and intervene in Syria to end the brutal regime of Bashar al-Assad and stop the violence that has led to the deaths of 40,000 people since the outbreak of an anti-regime revolt last year. The familiar cry that dictator x might use chemical weapons on his own people is being resurrected to garner support for U.S. intervention.

While the United States rightfully mourns the death of 20 innocent children who were murdered last week in Newtown, Connecticut, few people realize that as awful as those murders were, the man who has been given the Peace Prize for his supposed work to bring about peace on this planet, is also the same man who knowingly ordered and continues to order the assassination of innocent men, women and children in the Middle East, but for whom he drops no tear.

Army Col. Lawrence Sellin was fired two days after his sarcastic rant was published by the United Press International wire service.
Sellin was fired because he didn’t clear his remarks through public affairs and failed to clear “written or oral presentations to the media” through a designated public affairs officer. Here is what he wrote:

KABUL, Afghanistan — Throughout my career I have been known to walk that fine line between good taste and unemployment. I see no reason to change that now.
Consider the following therapeutic.
I have been assigned as a staff officer to a headquarters in Afghanistan for about two months. During that time, I have not done anything productive. Fortunately, little of substance is really done here, but that is a task we do well.
We are part of the operational arm of the International Security Assistance Force commanded by Army Gen. David Petraeus. It is composed of military representatives from all the NATO countries, several of which I cannot pronounce.
Officially, International Joint Command was founded in late 2009 to coordinate operations among all the regional commands in Afghanistan. More likely it was founded to provide some general a three-star command. Starting with a small group of dedicated and intelligent officers, IJC has successfully grown into a stove-piped and bloated organization, top-heavy in rank. Around here, you can’t swing a dead cat without hitting a colonel.

A bit of a blast from the past took place recently when Vladimir Putin refused to attend the G-8 summit at Camp David and instead sent his buddy and right hand man, Dmitry Medvedev, to oversee Russia’s role. It was kind of reminder of the cold-war era, yes, ‘Russia is strong and getting stronger and you better notice it’ kind of a message was passed on. Did it have its effect? Maybe. Barrack Obama replied with the announcement of his absence from the APEC meeting to be held at Vladivostok. So?

In the shadow of the Nato summit, under the watchful eyes of a phalanx of full-black-clad riot police, dozens of former servicemen and women in uniform, veterans of the Iraq and Afghanistan wars, threw away their medals, with apologies.

It was one of the most moving experiences many of us had witnessed in our lives. It is hard to describe in words. I couldn’t get the lump out of my throat. Out of the corner of my eye, I caught a woman next to me crying. Their words, their voices, crackling under the emotion of their courageous act, breaking under the weight of the pain, the trauma, their anger, sadness, and hope – theirs was a heroic and beautiful act, a moving ceremony. It was a privilege to be there with these women and men who served in our wars.

The NATO Chicago Summit will bring in 28 heads of state to discuss NATO’s new “Smart Defense” program which promotes, “a renewed culture of cooperation that encourages Allies to cooperate.” However, on May 10, 2012 Russia’s Vladimir Putin sent a warning to both the U.S. and NATO in a Victory Day speech in Red Square about military action against Iran and Syria.

NATO – Rogue Arm Of America’s War Machine Must Be Dismantled | Veterans Today
Let’s get something straight ~ NATO is the rogue arm of America’s war machine whereas it has become a global military alliance and obviously designed to engage in aggressive invasions, preemptive wars as well as collaborate with the CIA in numerous illegal activities. Don’t be fooled, America has created an unaccountable international cold war mechanism that enables it to willfully ignore and evade national and international law ~ and it must be dismantled.

As I mentioned on Press TV earlier this year ~ The Obama administration has militarized the police force for the street protests yet to come which should reach a climax in Chicago now at the NATO summit meetings.
The North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) summit in Chicago was designated a National Special Security Event, which puts the Secret Service in charge of “event security”; the FBI in control of “intelligence, counter terrorism, hostage rescue and investigation of incidents of terrorism or other major criminal activities”; and the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) in charge of “recovery management in the aftermath of terrorist or other major criminal incidents, natural disasters or other catastrophic events,” reported the Independent.
Chicago, under the guidance of Mayor Rahm Emanuel, has become an armed fortress. As such it is now Show and Tell time for Obama’s newly minted civilian arrest and detention laws ~ and here’s some early evidence of what’s to come:

Despite establishment media hype predicting a repeat of the violence at the 1968 Democratic convention, the anti-NATO protests in Chicago have so far been largely non-violent.
Chicago cops tried to create a riot but not much came of it.
As of Sunday, a mere 45 protesters were arrested. “No details on the arrests were immediately available, but it appeared from the clashes that played out in front of television cameras that many of those arrested were taken into custody after refusing a police order to disperse,” the AP reports.
Chicago and the federal government squandered millions of tax payer dollars on a not-so secret “command center” to keep a watchful electronic eye on Americans exercising the First Amendment. The proudly advertised purpose of the high-tech fusion center was to protect “foreign ministers” who arrived to plot future NATO conquests and war crimes. Of course, these bureaucrats were never really in danger.
Chicago mayor Rahm Emanuel’s government worked with the Secret Service to turn downtown Chicago into a ghost town and deny workers and small businesses income. Eight foot tall “security fencing” created a declared “security perimeter” around downtown, Grant Park, and McCormick Place where the NATO war council convened.

Thousands of people rallied in Chicago against NATO on the opening day of its Summit meeting.
The massive anti-NATO demonstrations aim to boycott the event. Thousands of peaceful protesters, including peace activists and war veterans, have marched through the second largest city in the U.S. carrying banners against NATO and demanding the dissolution of the Alliance.
Life in Occupied Chicago | Veterans Today
Through Monday, downtown residents live in occupied Chicago.
Secret Service agents, NORTHCOM and National Guard forces, as well as thousands of state and local police seem everywhere.
Getting around feels hazardous. Anyone may be stopped, searched, interrogated, even arrested.
Residents were advised to hunker down and stay out of harm’s way as best as possible. For many, it’s not easy. More on a city under siege below.
NATO is the world’s first global war-making alliance. Largely a US imperial tool, it’s a killing machine. Its 28 members and dozens of partner states comprise about one-third of the world’s nations.
Article 4 of its charter calls for members to “consult together whenever, in the opinion of any of them, the territorial integrity, political independence, or security of any” is threatened.
