My dog, Elkie, recently suffered a stroke. While she was recovering, she developed an infection of her digestive track. My veterinarian prescribed an oral antibiotic. She called the local CVS drug store and ordered it.

 

My wife and I are customers of this CVS store and get our prescriptions there through Medicare and Tricare, the latter the military retiree plan.

 

I went to pick-up the medicine, to find it had to be prepared by another pharmacy and then sent to CVS. I was told to come back later in the day. Because I had already made one trip, I called ahead the second time to make sure all was ready.

Most Americans — even those who are legislators — know very little about the details of President Obama’s Affordable Care Act, so-called Obamacare. Next year, when it goes into effect, we will learn the hard way.

Many people lazily assume that the law will do roughly what it promises: give insurance to the uninsured and lower the cost of health care by limiting spending on dubious procedures.

Don’t count on it.

Consider just the complexity: The act itself is more than 906 pages long, and again and again in those 906 pages are the words, “the Secretary shall promulgate regulations …”

“Secretary” refers to Secretary of Health and Human Services Kathleen Sebelius. Her minions have been busy. They’ve already added 20,000 pages of rules. They form a stack 7 feet high, and more are to come.

Our old health care system was already a bureaucratic and regulatory nightmare. It had 16,000 different codes for different ailments. Under our new, “improved” system, there will be more than a 100,000.

Government likes to think regulations can account for every possibility. Injured at a chicken coop? The code for that will be Y9272. Fall at an art gallery? That means you are a Y92250. There are three different codes for walking into a lamppost — depending on how often you’ve walked into lampposts.

In their haste to impose an historic affront to individual liberty, the authors of the Affordable Care Act (ACA) neglected to provide the federal bureaucracy with either the funding necessary to build ObamaCare exchanges within the various states OR the authority to award tax credits or impose penalties on the American public.

For when the ACA was written it was foolishly believed by lawmakers that each of the 50 states would immediately take on the near 100 million dollar responsibility of completing an ObamaCare exchange within its borders—an exchange being the sales center without which no ObamaCare business may be transacted, no healthcare policies sold.

Contrary to Nancy Pelosi’s claims, passing ObamaCare has not enabled most Americans to know what’s in it. But one thing has become clear to those who have studied this signature, power-play legislation of the left— courageous Republican governors can kill it.

The Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act can only infect the nation and the American people if states are willing either to set up state based ObamaCare exchanges, or “partner” with the federal government, thereby allowing an exchange to be installed and operated by the Department of Health and Human Services. BUT, although the federal government can “…by law TRY to impose a HHS-run federal exchange” in states which refuse to provide assistance, congress appropriated no money with which the government can build or operate it! And so far, the House has refused to provide that funding. (1)

In short, if a state does not accommodate the HHS by setting up a state-based exchange or acceding to a partnership, there will be no ObamaCare in the state. And if enough states hold the line, the Marxist healthcare scheme will fail.

By November 16th, the original deadline for states to advise the feds of their intentions concerning ObamaCare exchanges, 15 states had informed HHS that they would do NOTHING to allow the implementation of an ObamaCare exchange, most even passing legislation against the plan entering their state at all.

I am pumped! Governor Perry just told Cavuto that Texas will NOT be setting up a health care exchange under Obamacare. He also raised the 10th amendment as the basis for the sovereignty of Texas as a state.

When Obamacare was recently affirmed many Americans assumed bad law was established as constitutional—that wrong had trumped right. In fact, as heirs to the constitutional history of Europe connnecting back to the earliest Greek and Roman thinkers and biblical writers, there is no compelling reason to accept an evil law.

It is the Western concept that claims a set of precepts exists above all human law which is used to model and judge our own temporary laws. In fact, one can argue persuasively that without the notion of good law above used to fight against evil laws, the West as we know it would have never evolved.

While the entire country was riveted to the news that Obamacare—the most expensive and freedom robbing tax bill in U.S. history—was upheld by the Supreme Court, the President was busy driving in the last nail in the coffin of liberty.

It is not the first time the media helped in the deception of Americans and in hiding the truth.

How the IRS will come after Americans under Obamacare.

Regardless of whether you agree with the fundamentals of Obamacare, the fact that the U.S. Supreme Court has now ruled the federal government has the power to tax Americans into mandatory purchases of private industry products means an end to economic freedom in America.

Why?

Because it hands the federal government the power to force the American people to buy anything the government wants or face tax penalties for refusing to do so. It is the equivalent of announcing a federal monopoly over all private purchasing decisions.

June 28: A day that will live in infamy.

Today the Supreme Court released its ruling on Obamacare, that hideous monstrosity that unleashed unlimited federal power upon the people it purports to serve. This law was never about delivering health care to Americans, but growing government power, and it has achieved its aim.

The Supremes Have Spoken…

I was hoping against all odds that the will of the people would prevail. However, inside my heart I knew that it was hopeless. Nine impartial and totally objective Americans with no personal interests, outside influences, or opinions have decided the fate of millions of Americans for generations to come.

The Supreme Court decision on Obamacare confirmed that lies have triumphed over the Constitution.

It also is a reminder that the Supreme Court is a political entity and a human one. Only the Justices who dissented from the majority decision on Obamacare were willing to take the heat. The majority ruled that the individual mandate under the commerce clause was unconstitutional, but gave Obamacare life as a tax.

Do not think that Benedict Arnold Roberts, the unethical Kagan and their liberal activist cohorts have done the Democrats a favor. The ruling concerning Medicaid expansion, likely will have the effect of blowing the whole thing out of the water. The cost of Obamacare will skyrocket if States opt out of the Medicaid expansion, which at least 26 are likely to do.
