What Individualism Is Not
 – LewRockwell.com

The bottle is now labeled libertarianism. But its content is nothing new; it is what in the nineteenth century, and up to the time of Franklin Roosevelt, was called liberalism

the advocacy of limited government and a free economy. (If you think of it, you will see that there is a redundancy in this formula, for a government of limited powers would have little chance of interfering with the economy.)

Why Liberalism is Pseudo-Religious Intellectual Poison

WHY do liberal folks never get it? Why do a million successive failures not clue them in that their ideas are failure incarnate?

These geniuses refuse to amalgamate the raw data laying all around to inexorably force the conclusion that the premises of liberalism are false. Because, much like how poison works—by mimicking the good things our bodies need, but delivering death instead of life—liberalism is a faux religion, a fake ethics. Liberalism causes death.

Abandon the United Nations?….. “It’s ineffectual, it’s corrupt, it’s unelected, it’s dominated by scores of tiny countries which have learned that if they claim discrimination or claim that their “human rights” are being denied, they can make the wealthy, successful nations feel enough guilt (thanks to the leftists within those countries who rarely if ever made any contribution to either the wealth or the success) to shovel money at them even as they declare their undying hatred for the countries who are being shaken down.”

What are we going to do about the United Nations? Exactly what has the U.N. accomplished? I will grant that the U.N. began with the most noble and loftiest of intentions, but does it still embody those intentions?

It’s ineffectual, it’s corrupt, it’s unelected, it’s dominated by scores of tiny countries which have learned that if they claim discrimination or claim that their “human rights” are being denied, they can make the wealthy, successful nations feel enough guilt (thanks to the leftists within those countries who rarely if ever made any contribution to either the wealth or the success) to shovel money at them even as they declare their undying hatred for the countries who are being shaken down.

That makes the United Nations sound like it has a lot in common with the U.S. Congress, doesn’t it?

In essence, the United Nations doesn’t work. But then the predecessor of the U.N., the League of Nations, didn’t work too well. The European Union isn’t working out too well. I might be wrong, but there seems to be a pattern emerging. Every attempt to take a bunch of disparate nation-states and use normal (i.e., bumbling and power hungry) bureaucrats to create a one-size-fits-all new world order has always failed.

The Attack of the Global Warming Islamist… “Look, I’m not the one who declares every weather event a product of climate change. What I object to is that many scientists and most members of the media write ill-informed opinion pieces that they wrap in the fish paper of scientific discourse. And then if one disagrees with them, they pretend like we’re just too stupid to understand basic science.”

Undocumented Intelligence wrote: Ransom wants to make climate change concern all about being liberal. Actually, it’s all about being rational and not blinded–as Ransom is–by an ideology that is highly inconvenienced by an overwhelming body of expert scientific evidence. -Combat Global Warming: Be Gay for a Day

Please note that the Ransom Style Book will no longer recognize the phrase Hooverville Follies. Just as the Associated Press has axed the term Illegal Immigrant, we have replaced the term Hooverville Follies with a more apt phrase: Undocumented Intelligence. Thank you.

Reincarnation, God, and Government…

January 24, 2013 2 comments

…..If you disagree with the idea of reincarnation, or a plurality of heavens and hells, or karma being a biblical teaching, or reaching a state of salvation while still on this earthly plane, then by all means disregard such things—whatever floats your boat. I am writing about them because they are concepts that have helped me on my spiritual path, and I share them in case they may be of use to others.

Whether you pick them up or kick them to the side is all the same to me—they are trifles compared to that which is important. What is important is, as I said earlier, that we share a belief in an afterlife and a system of reward and punishment. The reality of divine reward and punishment used to be commonplace knowledge in this country—not anymore—and we see the results of such atheistic hubris all around us in the breakdown of morality and promulgation of depravity.By this point you may be asking yourself “what in the world is an article like this doing in a venue devoted to conservative politics?”

The answer is that while it is all fine and good to debate the various pros and cons of liberal and conservative ideologies, we are just spinning our wheels unless we address the real issues that lay at the heart of such matters—and it is no hyperbole to say that the fundamental and most important difference between the liberal and conservative viewpoints centers around how they each treat the topic of God and spirituality. If you are under the impression that religion and spirituality play no part in political strategies, let me hasten to point out that there are many atheists and leftist radicals who would strongly disagree with you.
