His campaign is using the closed two-party control structure and their media gatekeepers previously utilized to control public opinion and elections against them. For example the state presidential primary and caucus system, televised debates and related campaign news coverage formerly was a GOP establishment monopoly. Today thanks to the Internet, it has become the Trojan horse used by Paul’s campaign and liberty supporters to get inside the closed walls of the GOP to educate millions of Americans about freedom and free-market ideas.

Why is America Getting Crazier Every Year?

Why does it seem like America is getting crazier with each passing year? It has become glaringly apparent that very deep corruption has taken root in our society from the lowest levels of society all the way up to the highest levels of society. In fact, some of the worst behavior of all is being exhibited by those that are supposed to be “examples” for our young people – politicians, bankers, lawyers, CEOs, etc.

As we enter 2013, the American people are greedy, selfish, boastful, proud, arrogant, disrespectful, ungrateful, materialistic, unforgiving, without self-control and they are completely and totally addicted to entertainment.

 

They believe that America will always be “the greatest nation on earth” just because of who we are, and they believe that the rest of the world should look up to us as a bright, shining example of everything that is good in the world. Meanwhile, we lead the world in a large number of negative categories and our society is decaying right in front of our eyes.

Most of the legitimate ones are gone, having been replaced with dictatorships, oligarchies, or fake “republics” that fool people with charades they refer to as elections and whose results have already been predetermined long before the “election” takes place. There is a place for legitimate governments in God’s economy, governments that fulfill their God-ordained duties and functions and do no more than that. When I talk about the kingdom of man (the state) I am not referring to those few governments that do this. I am referring to all those governments run by men who think they are, or wish to be “god” in their own countries and around the world. Such people and governments are at war with God’s Kingdom. As horrendous as things look at this point in history, this is a war that those who seek to be “god” cannot win. They will always, at some point, lose, even if we do not live to see it.

To give an American context to this phrase, John Wilkes Booth immortalized it as he leapt to the stage from the Presidential Box after mortally wounding Abraham Lincoln at Fords Theater 147 years ago, and it is the motto for the state of Virginia.

Throughout history, man has always sought self-determination as a God-given or natural right as they struggled against the rule of man through kings, royalty, and monarchs. This nation was founded upon the principle that man, given the ability, the will, and means to do so, could flourish under self-rule and the rule of law. Flourish, we have; the amount of economic growth and wonders this nation has seen in its short existence of only 236 years is astounding and has not been rivaled in history.

In my last installment in this series I argued that talk show host Glenn Beck was raising legitimate concerns about the state of the nation, but that he had a history of predictions of imminent disasters which did not pan out. Why didn’t they? After all, the left really does have a strong totalitarian bent. No nation is guaranteed eternal life, let alone eternal prosperity and hegemony. And the United States is, indeed, aggressively moving in the wrong direction.

So why didn’t the dollar collapse? Why is it still the reserve currency of the world? Why don’t we have hyperinflation? Why did gold stall and then fall last summer? Was there a food shortage? Nope. Widespread urban violence?

There is an old joke that circulates among right-wing libertarians, which says that any American President who attempts to govern according to the US constitution, would be impeached.

But the America of today, makes the founding fathers turn over in their graves.The last American President to govern according to the constitution, was William Howard Taft 1909 – 1913. Taft was later appointed as the Chief Justice of the United States in 1921, by President Warren G. Harding.Woodrow Wilson 1913 – 1921 turned America from a Republic into a global empire, similar to the Roman Empire. He imposed the income tax on the American people, and also pushed through the Federal Reserve Act, which lead to the weakening of the American dollar over the following decades. He sent young American men to die in a useless war in Europe World War One, the first time that America had intervened in a European War.

Woodrow Wilson’s participation in World War One caused the horrible conditions in Germany, that led to the rise of Hitler.America was not established as a nation that was to give free stuff to people, using other people’s money. Towards Martial Law in America: Authority to Deploy Troops Domestically during ‘National Emergencies’

Earlier this month, the United States Coast Guard upheld its self-declared status as a ‘special’ branch of the military with the ability to prosecute civilians in military tribunals. This startling declaration, unreported in the media, came in a Decision on Appeal related to the case of Lieutenant Eric Shine, a commissioned Naval officer in the Merchant Marines and a graduate of Kings Point Military Service Academy, and was penned by the Vice Commandant of the Coast Guard.

The decision can be downloaded and read here.The Coast Guard began proceedings to strip Lieutenant Shine of his merchant mariner license in March, 2003, supposedly as the result of incidents related to his service on two private vessels in 2001. In actuality, as Lieutenant Shine points out, the charges were brought in retaliation for attempting to blow the whistle on illegal dumping and other practices he had been asked to engage in during his employment. The Coast Guard’s case against him rested on two hostile witnesses who had previously been named by Shine in his whistleblower litigation and the Chief of the Coast Guard Medical Evaluations Office, an officer in the Coast Guard who had never examined Shine but was willing to testify to his medical incompetence.

Last Tuesday, Dr. Thomas Sowell was interviewed on The Rush Limbaugh Show by Walter Williams, who was serving as guest host. During this interview, Williams inquired about Sowell’s opinion of direction that America is heading in .

“Are you optimistic or pessimistic?” Williams asked. “Pessimistic, and I am fighting off becoming despairing,” replied Sowell.

[1] Sowell’s words should not be taken lightly. As a recent Investor’s Business Daily editorial about Sowell said, “Doomsters are a dime a dozen. But when a leading economist who’s been called “the nation’s greatest contemporary philosopher” sees serious trouble ahead, we’d better listen up.”

The editorial went on to explain: Sowell sees the national equivalent of a “perfect storm,” a gathering of “dangerous forces that have been building .. . for at least a half-century.” Yes, he says, our great nation has weathered many storms. But, he quickly notes, so did the Roman Empire before it collapsed.

“Is that where America is headed?” Sowell asks upfront. “I believe it is. Our only saving grace is that we are not there yet – and that nothing is inevitable until it happens.”……

The Obama administration “is not the root cause of the ominous dangers that face this country at home and aboard,” Sowell says. But “it is the embodiment, the personification and the culmination of dangerous trends that began decades ago.
