“[O]ne more question about the spending cuts,” said the interviewer from ABC News. “You’ve been takin’ a lotta heat for this cancellation of the White House tours. They get– the Secret Service says it’s costs about $74,000 a week. Was canceling them really necessary?”
“You know, I have to say this was not– a decision that went up to the White House. But th– what the Secret Service explained to us was that they’re gonna have to furlough some folks. What furloughs mean is– is that people lose a day of work and a day of pay,” Obama said, in response.
by Gordon Duff, Senior Editor–The story is simple, a terrified President Obama had the crack Marine unit from the “8th and I Barracks” disarmed because he feared they would assassinate him while he stood on the dais reviewing the inauguration parade.
The truth is simple, even the police had inert weapons, just as they had in every inauguration in the past, police, all military, everyone but the secret service. We checked, we called, it took five minutes. The press statement from the Secret Service is copied below.
Sullivan has overseen the Secret Service since 2006 and was its director during the agency’s high-profile prostitution scandal last year.
In a brilliant act of political satire, someone has created a petition to the white house here to create a gun free zone around the President and Vice President. All guns would be eliminated there, and the Secret Service would not have any.
If it is good enough for our children, It is good enough for the president, the logic goes.
I am constantly amazed that people are perfectly comfortable around someone with a gun, if the person is wearing a uniform. Remove the uniform, and the same people become very uncomfortable.
How Romney can KO Obama in Monday Debate… (“Meanwhile, the Internet was raging with threats to assassinate Mitt Romney, all posted by Barack Obama supporters”)
Immediately following this week’s debate, LIVE pollster Frank Luntz interviewed a group of “undecided” voters, most of whom voted for Obama in 2008.
Records show Mr Biden has collected more than $13,000 since April on the cottage in Greenville, a wealthy Wilmington suburb, and is eligible for up to $66,000 (£40,000) before the contract expires in 2013.
He said the proximity of the cottage to the Biden home allowed for extra tight security.
The cottage was lived in by Mr Biden’s mother before she died and then was rent commercially to a tenant for a year. When he moved out, the Secret Service took up the lease after renting other homes nearby.
RICHMOND, Va. — A former Marine involuntarily detained for psychiatric evaluation for posting strident anti-government messages on Facebook has received an outpouring of support from people who say authorities are trampling on his First Amendment rights.

We just reported yesterday that a Human Rights activist in Bahrain is being prosecuted for six Twittermessages. Politically, this country is increasingly resembling Bahrain and other nations that arrest those who speak out critically over federal policy.

It was easy to see this coming. When the news about Secret Service agents hooking up with prostitutes in Columbia first broke we were told there were 11 men (some reports had it at 12) being investigated. Immediately we heard six were kicked out leaving; five “still under investigation.”

Last night, President Obama appeared on Jimmy Fallon’s unwatchable late-night show – a show most notable for Fallon’s almost-incredible inability to keep a straight face while telling the world’s least funny jokes – to discuss the Secret Service prostitution scandal. “The Secret Service, these guys are incredible,” Obama said. “They protect me, they protect our girls. A couple of knuckleheads shouldn’t detract from what they do. What they were thinking, I don’t know. That’s why they’re not there anymore.” But the Secret Service agents in question don’t need Obama’s help in their defense.
The United Nations plans to use its upcoming UN Conference on “Sustainable Development” (UN CSD or Rio+20) in Rio de Janeiro to amass a vast array of unprecedented new powers and literally re-shape civilization, the global economy, and even peoples’ thoughts, according to official documents. All of it will be done in the name of transitioning toward a so-called “green economy.”
When did things begin going wrong in America?
“From the beginning,” answer some. English colonists, themselves under the thumb of a king, exterminated American Indians and stole their lands, as did late 18th and 19th century Americans. Over the course of three centuries the native inhabitants of America were dispossessed, just as Israelis have been driving Palestinians off their lands since 1948.
Demonization always plays a role. The Indians were savages and the Palestinians are terrorists. Any country that can control the explanation can get away with evil.
I agree that there is a lot of evil in every country and civilization. In the struggle between good and evil, religion has at times been on the side of evil. However, the notion of moral progress cannot so easily be thrown out.

CBS News correspondent Whit Johnson reports that a law enforcement official told him a 13th agent is under investigation for bringing a prostitute back to the swanky Hilton Hotel where President Barack Obama was staying.
The Daily News can reveal the first photo of the 24-year-old Colombian call girl whose encounter with a cheapskate Secret Service agent ignited the agency’s worst sex scandal. One of the agents tried to brush off his girl, the single mother of a 9-year-old son known as Tania, the next morning with only $28 in cab fare. She caused a ruckus, demanding her full payment, so cops got involved and word reached the US Embassy.
(Gunny G: Dog Stories) Speaking of dogs, and the USSS, anyone remember “Buddy”, the late, unlamented, First Dog?
A “Report from Chappaqua” flashback:
As more details about the Secret Service escapades in Columbia come to light, and as the campaigns trade insults about how the candidates treat dogs…”Your guy abused his pet”..”yeah, but your guy ate his..” it’s time to turn back the clock, and remember when Democrats, their dogs, and the USSS first collided in the media.
The left has called for Romney, the Republican front-runner for the presidential nomination, to denounce Nugent’s remarks, and campaign spokeswoman Andrea Saul issued a statement saying, “divisive language is offensive no matter what side of the political aisle it comes from. Mitt Romney believes everyone needs to be civil.”
When Nugent was asked about that, the musician said, “Mitt Romney’s already denounced my guitar playing because it’s too sexy. … Mitt Romney is a great American. Mitt Romney believes in the First Amendment. Mitt Romney knows what I’m saying is true. He puts into words for him. I put it into words for me.”
He continued: “Even guitar players qualify as ‘We the People’ where I come from. When I write, I write about the positive glow of productive America and why the Golden Rule, and the U.S. Constitution, the Bill of Rights are guiding forces for the greatest quality of life in the history of humankind. And anyone that disagrees with me disagrees with that.”
CARTAGENA, Colombia — ABC News has learned exclusively that the Secret Service officials accused of misconduct in Colombia revealed their identities by boasting at a Cartagena brothel that they worked for President Obama.Partying at the “Pley Club”
Wednesday night, eleven members of the president’s advance team allegedly bragged “we work for Obama” and “we’re here to protect him.”The officials spent the night throwing back expensive whiskey and enlisting the services of the club’s prostitutes, according to a bouncer at the club and a police source.Sources tell ABC News several of the men agreed to pay for, and received, services from the “highest category” prostitutes available at the club, who charge upwards of $200.The men paid for the sexual services in advance but when it came time to settle the bill, there was a dispute over the charges. The group became belligerent and the police were called.
The argument between the officials and the bouncers from the club escalated and ultimately spilled onto the street, according to several eye witness accounts.Video report at link worth watching. Includes visit to club and mention that up to 20 U.S. military from all four branches involved, bringing number of U.S. personnel involved up to 31.
RUSH: Let’s cut to the chase, and let’s get to the real question in the Secret Service hooker scandal in Colombia. What I want to know is, did those Colombian hookers have to pay for their own contraception, or are they covered under Obama‘s health care plan as it extends to the Secret Service agents? That’s the question. That’s what everybody ought to be asking.
With the War on Women being waged at full strength, how could that question not come up? How could that question not be asked? It wasn’t asked by anybody on the Sunday shows. It hasn’t been brought up by Hilary Rosen. It hasn’t been brought up by Anita Dunn. I don’t think’s Obama brought it up, but is it not the most important question? Who pays for the hookers’ contraception?
So what actually happened down there in Cartagena, Columbia in the week prior to President Obama’s arrival, to cause an entire contingent of Secret Service personnel, twelve Secret Service agents who were members of his advance personal security team, to be removed from their assignments and summarily returned home for disciplinary action?
With a reported one third of the currency in circulation being counterfeit at the time, the Secret Service was created by President Abraham Lincoln on April 14, 1865 (five days after Lee’s surrender at Appomattox), and commissioned on July 5, 1865, in Washington, D.C. as the “Secret Service Division” of the Department of the Treasury with the mission of suppressing counterfeiting.
The legislation creating the agency was on Abraham Lincoln’s desk the night he was assassinated. At the time, the only other federal law enforcement agencies were the United States Park Police, U.S. Post Office Department, Office of Instructions and Mail Depredations, now known as the United States Postal Inspection Service, and the United States Marshals Service.
Cartagena, Columbia (VT) The story, one a child wouldn’t believe, is that our Secret Service and Army advance teams, those that arrange for presidential security, were arrested for failing to pay one or more whores for “services rendered.”
The real deal is very probably this:
CARTAGENA, Colombia—The Secret Service is investigating allegations that one or more agents on President Barack Obama’ssecurity detail to Colombia were involved with prostitution, a person familiar with the matter said Friday.
An unspecified number of agents have been sent home and are being replaced by other Secret Service personnel, the agency said in a statement.
The Federal Restricted Buildings and Grounds Improvement Act of 2011 signed into law last week by President Obama allows the Secret Service to determine what kind of speech may be permitted in proximity to the President and other government officials qualified for Secret Service protection.
“Most people are probably familiar with our role as protectors of the President against would-be assassins,” said Secret Service spokesman Elroy Hood. “But assassins aren’t the only ones who pose a threat. Vocal opponents damage the image the government is trying to project and can undermine its authority every bit as much as an attempt on the President’s life.”
Hood hastened to point out that “not all speech is prohibited. Demonstrations in support of the government help advance the President’s agenda. We don’t want to discourage that.”
To be on the safe side, those wishing to avoid arrest are advised to check in with the Secret Service ahead of time to have signs and banners reviewed and approved. They are also counseled to police their members to prevent any untoward outbursts in the presence of the President or other officers of the government.

The Secret Service says it is looking into a recent op-ed from an Atlanta publisher that floated the idea of green-lighting Israeli Mossad agents to assassinate President Obama in order to improve Israel’s security against enemies like Iran.
The publisher and author, Andrew Adler, reportedly has apologized.
But Jewish advocacy groups condemned his comments as “outrageous,” and Secret Service spokesman George Ogilvie said the agency is “aware” of the incident.
“We’re conducting the appropriate investigative steps,” he told FoxNews.com.
Ogilvie would not comment on whether Adler has been contacted or whether his column was deemed a potential threat to the president.

WASHINGTON – A man wanted in an investigation of shots fired near the White House was arrested Wednesday in the state of Pennsylvania, a day after agents discovered two bullets had struck the executive mansion while President Barack Obama was away, the U.S. Secret Service said.
Ortega, 21, was arrested Wednesday afternoon by Pennsylvania authorities at a hotel in the southwest part of the state, the Secret Service said. He was in Pennsylvania State Police custody. A tip from someone who saw and identified Ortega led to his arrest, Secret Service spokesman George Ogilvie said.
Sources tell CBS News Ortega-Hernandez was not on the radar of the Secret Service before Friday’s shooting. But investigators believe he may have targeted the White House due to a hatred of President Obama. Businessman Monte McCall, said Ortega-Hernandez compared the president to the “Antichrist” when they met recently.

A man wanted in an investigation of shots fired near the White House was arrested Wednesday in the state of Pennsylvania, a day after agents discovered two bullets had struck the executive mansion while President Barack Obama was away, the U.S. Secret Service said.
The Secret Service said it discovered Tuesday that the two bullets had hit the White House, one of them apparently cracking a window on the level of the president’s living quarters, while Obama and his wife Michelle were on a trip to California and Hawaii.

The Secret Service now suspects that a bullet fired in this incident may have hit the White House after a bullet round was found in a White House window, though the round had not yet been conclusively linked to the incident. The round was stopped by ballistic glass behind the historic exterior glass, while an additional round has been found on the exterior of the White House.

An additional round of ammunition was also found on the exterior of the White House. The bullets were found Tuesday evening.
The discovery follows reports of gunfire near the White House on Friday. Witnesses heard shots and saw two speeding vehicles in the area. An AK-47 rifle was also recovered.

“THE TIDE IS RISING IN OUR FAVOR”
October 3, 2011,
Proverbs 14:34, “Righteousness exalteth a nation: but sin is a reproach to any people.”
The sitting President of the United States, whom many Americans conclude evidentially is illegal and ineligible and a usurper, has shown no interest in the fear of God or leading our nation righteously. The reproach felt is burdensome to those with a fear of God and a desire to be irreproachable before HIM.
Let me re-address this situation. I request to meet the President to discuss the concerns of millions of Americans and my personally held belief that he is accountable to both the Constitution and lower laws, such as those outlawing fraud and forgery. I sympathize with those Americans who believe in Obama’s ineligibility due to his father not being a citizen, and I consent that this is against the Constitution of the United States of America…………………
After more than a decade protecting presidents with the Secret Service, Daniel Bongino is currently running against the policies that the most recent president he worked under – President Obama – has moved along.
“I like the president a lot personally. We had a good relationship. He was a wonderful man to me, and this is not any kind of a personal gripe,” Bongino said.
“It’s strictly a political, ideological difference. His policies I think are just wrong. We’re headed down a path I don’t think we want to go down.”
Bongino would become the first former Secret Service agent to serve in Congress. And his reason for running sounds similar to the rationale given by dozens if not hundreds of first-time candidates over the last few years.

WASHINGTON (AP) — A federal judge is ruling against the Secret Service, saying records of visitors to the White House are subject to Freedom of Information Act requests. The Secret Service had argued that the visitors’ logs were presidential records exempt from public disclosure. But U.S. District Judge Beryl Howell on Wednesday disagreed. Howell sided with government watchdog group Judicial Watch, which had sued for records from the first eight months of the Obama administration. Howell said the Secret Service must disclose the records, except individual entries that fall under exemptions like for national security. In September 2009, President Barack Obama began voluntarily releasing the names of people who visit the executive complex, reversing a long-standing policy that transcended both Democratic and Republican presidents. The lawsuit covered the records before the policy change.

Barack Obama should stick to aircraft where it’s much easier to hide in privacy.
The $1.1 million, made-in-Canada road hog taking Obama on his first bus tour in office may have painted out windows and come with state-of-the art Secret Service added features. But unlike Marine 1, which flew him over more than one million Tea Party members on 9/12, the top-of-the line bus model used by major traveling rock bands, finally brought Barack Obama face-to-face with the people he’s managed to dodge for more than two years.
Obama’s bodyguard to run for the Republicans
Obama’s bodyguard to run for the Republicans: “Mr Bongino, who was brought up in New York, is a conservative, Tea Party type of Republican. He resigned five months ago and now aims to capture a Senate seat from the Democrats for the first time in Maryland since 1987.
He said that his only differences with the president were ideological.
‘I just don’t agree with the way the country is going. We have got to get government out of the way,’ he said, adding that the president had always treated him well. The Secret Service declined to comment.”
