Klein Cultivated Ties With Copts to Advance Anti-Muslim Crusade | Hatewatch | Southern Poverty Law Center

Steve Klein, the California ex-marine identified as a consultant for the anti-Islam film that apparently triggered violent protests in northern Africa and the Middle East, is finally seeing the fruits of his labor.
For years, Klein has been cultivating relationships with Middle Eastern Christians in California – in particular, Joseph Nasralla, a California Coptic Christian who spoke at an anti-Muslim rally hosted by hate group leaders Pam Geller and Robert Spencer on Sept. 11, 2010.
Now, Nasralla has been identified as president and CEO of Media for Christ, a California nonprofit that allegedly produced “The Innocence of Muslims.” An unnamed spokesman for Media for Christ told the Long Beach Press Telegram that his organization was not involved with the film, but area officials confirmed to the paper that the company did take out a permit to produce it.

“As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten: be zealous therefore, and repent.” —Revelation 3:19
While the politburo that rules over us attempts to push through universal gun registration then gun confiscation by calling for universal background checks, America’s Department of Homeland Schutzstaffel is buying over 1.6 billion rounds of ammunition, over 7,000 full-auto assault rifles (the same assault rifles they don’t want us to have even as semi-auto) and more than 2,700 mine-resistant ambush-protected (MRAP) armored vehicles.
We’re told by our government and Pravda Americana – the two greatest liars of all time – that DHSS is buying the ammo in bulk to save us money, even though most of this cost-saving ammo is more expensive hollow point bullets – which are made to kill people, not silhouettes. They tell us they plan to use this ammo at a rate of 15 million rounds a year to train law enforcement. That’s a 100-year supply of bullets. What laws do you suppose their officers will be enforcing? Not the Constitution.
All those who don’t accept their propaganda but believe the government is prepping for war against gun owners, veterans and those who attend church more than once a week – the folks DHSS, through information supplied by their Gestapo, the Southern Poverty Law Center, call terrorists – are tagged as “white, right-winged” conspiracy nuts who hide in caves, waiting for the apocalypse.

With the repeal of the Clinton era “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” policy allowing gays to quietly serve in America’s armed forces, the politically correct goons in the Department of defense are working to silence any opposition to the Gay Agenda. Military Chaplains are being silenced. (4) Soldiers are being taught to equate Christians with extremists and racists who preach violence against non-believers. (2)
The Chaplain Alliance for Religious Liberty sent a letter to the House Armed Services Committee warning that Military Chaplains are being threatened by higher brass to keep quiet about their opposition to Homosexual Marriages. The organization has pointed out that in some cases Chaplain’s military careers have been damaged and at least one man of the cloth was told to resign. Despite denial from a Pentagon Spokesman, the reality of Chaplains in the field proves otherwise. After all, the Commander in Chief opposes any freedom of religion protections for chaplains or troops. (5)

The Southern Poverty Law Center has released its annual report on “The Year in Hate and Extremism,” in which the organization estimates the size of the “extremist” threat. Since its count of hate groups has dropped since last year—the number went down from 1,018 to 1,007—the center is hyping a 7 percent increase in another category: what it calls “conspiracy-minded antigovernment ‘Patriot’ groups.”
The SPLC’s definition of “Patriot” is pretty broad: The list ranges from the conservative websites

Do you hate paying taxes? Are you fighting foreclosure? Do you feel like no one should be allowed to commit violence against you and don’t always blindly follow the commands of the authorities? Do you film encounters with police or believe gold makes better currency than Federal Reserve Notes? Well you might be part of a domestic terrorism movement and not even know it.
On Friday, the Los Angeles Times posted an article attempting to define a domestic terrorist movement consisting of as many as 300,000 Americans. Some are even labeled as non-violent “paper terrorists”.

A couple of years ago when I appeared as one of Ron Paul‘s witnesses (the first one, actually) during his House of Representatives hearings on the Fed, the Democrats got the biggest leftist on the committee to smear, libel, and slander me by repeating the smears, libels, and slanders about me (and virtually all other libertarians and conservatives) by the left-wing hate group known as the Southern Poverty Law Center.
The hate group’s typical line is this: 1) DiLorenzo wrote a book critical of Lincoln’s economic policies; 2) Therefore, he must want to bring back slavery. Since we now live in a nation of morons, the SPLC is able to raise millions of dollars in contributions from below-50-I.Q. liberals and leftists with such smears.
“Send us money and we will keep an eye on these people,” they say. (This is the same group of communistic crackpots who convinced Big Sister Janet Napolitano to publicly announce that people with Ron Paul bumper stickers on their cars may be considered potential terrorists by her Department of Fatherland Security).

Well, the Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC) is at it again. In their typical obsessive hate-filled paranoia, the SPLC has issued another baseless assassination piece against anyone whom they consider to be “right-wing.” They call their hit piece, “The Year in Hate and Extremism.” Of course, only “right-wing” leaders are so characterized. According to the SPLC, left-wing leaders are always the voices of reason and goodness. Barf!

The SPLC article lists several conservative leaders as examples of “hate and extremism.” They include Senator Rand Paul (R-KY), U.S. Representative Trey Radel (R-FL), former Arizona Sheriff Richard Mack, Matt Barber of the Liberty Counsel, FOX News radio host Todd Starnes, and ConservativeDaily.com’s Tony Adkins. “Even further to the right,” according to the SPLC, are Oath Keepers (founded by Stewart Rhodes), Judicial Watch’s Larry Klayman, and, yes, yours truly.

For anyone unfamiliar with the Southern Poverty Law Center, you would not gain much insight judging by their name. Rarely, if at all does anything they do relate to poverty, except maybe to bring some citizens closer to it. Granted, some of the work they do is for the good. The SPLC is a private organization with strong ties to the federal government, namely the FBI, the BATF and the DOJ.
They primarily infiltrate, investigate and collect data on organizations that have been labeled as “Hate Groups.”
Then, they turn this information over to federal authorities, providing the evidence to initiate formal investigations. Some examples of the organizations that they have targeted in the past are the Ku Klux Klan, the Aryan Nations and the Aryan Brotherhood. These organizations are most definitely racist hate groups by almost any standard. The Southern Poverty Law Center played a lead role in the investigatory work done to control the proliferation of these groups, which is a great accomplishment.
That being said, they do have a quite tarnished past as well and have often found themselves on the wrong side of an issue and the wrong side of history itself.

Libertarians and the Confederate Battle Flag…

No one was a more articulate and outspoken abolitionist than the great libertarian legal philosopher Lysander Spooner of Massachusetts. But in 1870 Spooner wrote that “all these cries of having ‘abolished slavery,’ of having ‘saved the country,’ of having ‘preserved the union,’ of establishing a ‘government of consent,’ and of ‘maintaining the national honor’ are all gross, shameless, transparent cheats — so transparent that they ought to deceive no one.”
The Latest Leftist Smear of Patriots and Constitutionalists by Thomas DiLorenzo
Ron Paul, member of the United States House of Representatives from Texas. (Photo credit: Wikipedia)
The communistic rabble-rousers at the left-wing hate group known as the Southern Poverty Law Center have produced yet another libelous smear of well-meaning Americans who would like to see their Constitution enforced. This time the smears, lies, false innuendo, character assassination, and hate are directed at all those who believe that part of the definition of an American patriot is one who believes in the founding fathers’ philosophy of limited constitutional government.
The Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC) is a far-left hate group whose modus operandi is to attempt to censor criticisms of big government in America by calling people names. If you are a Jeffersonian who believes that limited and decentralized government is better than unlimited, centralized, monopolistic government, then they will label you a racist, a slavery defender, or worse. If you are a Ron Paul constitutionalist, they will insinuate that you are probably a terrorist who would like to blow up government buildings. If you are not a leftist, then you are, by definition, a “hater.”
If you are a critic of the welfare state, it is because you hate poor people. If you are a critic of the government school bureaucracy, it is because you hate children. If you are a critic of racial hiring quotas (which are supposedly illegal under the Civil Rights Act of 1964), then you are a racist.
If you oppose socialized medicine, it is because you hate sick people. If you are a critic of the Ponzi scheme known as “social security,” it is because you hate old people. There cannot possibly be any intellectual reasons to doubt government intervention; all criticisms of intervention are motivated by hate and nothing else according to the Southern Poverty Law Center.
With the advent of the TEA Party and the Republican takeover of the U.S. House of Representatives, the SPLC issued one of its cartoonish “intelligence reports” on “The Year in Hate,” bemoaning the “explosive growth” of “the radical right.” Everyone on the “right” is a “radical extremist.” There are no radicals or extremists on the left in the eyes of the extreme radical communists at the SPLC.

Those of us who believe in constitutional government, the Bill of Rights, personal liberty, and State autonomy are beginning to taste what German theologian Dietrich Bonhoeffer and pastor Martin Niemoller experienced back in 1930′s Germany. These two great lovers of God and freedom were ostracized and eventually persecuted by both Germany’s political and social societies and by “German Christians.” History does have a way of repeating itself, doesn’t it?
Anyone who does not recognize that America is rapidly being transformed into a fascist state is as dumb as Balaam’s ass. No, dumber! At least the ass had the sense to stop when it realized it was heading smack into God’s wrath.
For all intents and purposes, the US Constitution is dead; the Bill of Rights is dead; the vision of the Founding Fathers is dead; and federalism and republicanism are also dead. What we have left is a blend of socialism, welfarism, fascism, statism, and warfarism, with fascism becoming the dominant “ism” of the bunch.
If you want to know where America is quickly heading, go watch the movie “The Hunger Games,” currently playing in theaters everywhere. Or read Orwell’s “1984,” or Huxley’s “Brave New World.” Or better yet, take your eyes off ESPN just long enough to take a good look outside. America, as “the land of the free,” is disappearing. It is already unrecognizable from the country I grew up in, not to mention the country that our Founding Fathers fought and died to create. What happened in fascist Germany is happening right now in America.

At a speech in Sacramento, California, on December 10, Richard Mack, former sheriff of Graham County, Arizona, and founder of the Constitutional Sheriffs and Peace Officers Association (CSPOA), announced that within a matter of days he will be filing a lawsuit in federal court against the Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC) for slander, libel and defamation.
Sheriff Mack, who successfully challenged the 1993 federal Brady handgun control act in a landmark case that went all the way through the United States Supreme Court, has been an outspoken champion of constitutionally limited government and a critic of federal usurpation and abuse of police powers. The forty-year-old Southern Poverty Law Center is notorious for lionizing left-wing extremists (such as unrepentant Weather Underground terrorist Bill Ayers) and equally notorious for smearing innocent individuals and organizations with the “racist,” “extremist,” “anti-semitic,” “anti-government,” and “hate group” labels. It is not surprising then that it has targeted Richard Mack for vicious treatment in a number of its publications and web sites over the years. But even more troubling than what it has published about him, says Sheriff Mack, are the lies that it has spread to law enforcement agencies about him in the seminars and training programs the SPLC conducts for federal, state, and local agencies.
Sheriff Mack, who was a speaker, along with this writer at the 53rd Anniversary Banquet of The John Birch Society in Sacramento, also announced to the assembled guests that he would also soon be filing papers to run in the Republican primary for the 21st Congressional District of Texas against incumbent Rep. Lamar Smith, whom Mack describes a “RINO” (Republican In Name Only). The 21st District includes much of San Antonio and Austin, as well as Fredericksburg, where Mack now resides.
Timothy N. Baldwin — Journalism Gone Bad: The Southern Poverty Law Center
In its article, SPLC alleges Montana is a hotbed for antigovernment whack-jobs (despite the fact that their “hate-map” shows Montana scores relatively low even by their standards). SPLC names as “antigovernment extremists” my dad, Chuck Baldwin; fellow Flathead County resident and Oath Keepers founder, Stewart Rhodes; and Sheriff Richard Mack—and they associate me, Timothy Baldwin, as the same.
Forget proven track records of scholarship, statesmanship, education, reputation, and credentials. Those are non-factors in their reporting.
SPLC attempts to convince the public by using comical cartoons they drew on cardboard instead of showing you the live show in real time on a big-screen TV. After all, with the use of strobe lights, even the most uncoordinated and untrained man dances well; and in the dark, even the ugliest person can say she is pretty.

Who Owns History? ~ “The Southern Poverty Law Center is appalled by the results of a new study finding that states are not teaching the history of the civil rights era”
The Southern Poverty Law Center is appalled by the results of a new study finding that states are not teaching the history of the civil rights era. The SPLC, which commissioned the study of state curricula, concludes that students in at least 35 states are missing out on important facts about our history. And even in states that include units on civil rights, “their civil rights education boils down to two people and four words: Rosa Parks, Dr. King and ‘I have a dream.’”
On one hand, you want to welcome disgruntled liberals to the club of those worried about historical amnesia among the young. We conservatives have been worrying about it for decades. On the other hand, it’s tough to believe that American students are being cheated of knowledge about civil rights, compared with say, knowledge about World War II, or the progressive movement or the nullification crisis. One of my sons, who has been educated in public schools most of his life, offered that in his experience, American history is taught as “the Revolution, the internment of the Japanese during World War II and the civil rights movement.”
When Common Core, an advocacy group for educational standards, surveyed American teenagers in 2008, they found that nearly a quarter were not able to correctly identify Adolf Hitler, but 97 percent knew who delivered the “I have a dream” speech. Care to speculate about how many would know who Joseph Stalin was?
Teaching history is inevitably a somewhat political act — which is why an effort during the 1990s to establish national standards foundered in acrimony and bitterness. Some textbooks in wide use in America devote pages and pages to the so-called “McCarthy era” while neglecting much else and are written in a tone of condescension toward our forebears. Fights over textbook content in leading states like Texas have become protracted tugs of war between competing visions of our nation.
One suspects that only Howard Zinn‘s version of history would meet with the approval of the SPLC, and there are perhaps some on the right who might want to airbrush Joe McCarthy out altogether. But if we cannot come to some meeting of the minds on teaching the fundamentals of our history, we will have a drastically diminished future. The National Assessment of Educational Progress found in 2010 that only 12 percent of high school seniors were proficient in history.
The founders believed that special skills were necessary for free, self-governing individuals. Our second president, John Adams, said, “Children should be educated and instructed in the principles of freedom.” Thomas Jefferson proposed a system of public schools to instill the necessary knowledge and attitudes, saying memorably “If a nation expects to be ignorant and free, in a state of civilization, it expects what never was and never will be.”
When Ronald Reagan reflected on his eight years as president in his farewell address, he mentioned that one of the things he was proudest of was the renewed spirit of patriotism in the country. “This national feeling is good,” he said, “but it won’t count for much, and it won’t last unless it’s grounded in thoughtfulness and knowledge.” Recalling that his generation had absorbed “almost in the air, a love of country and an appreciation for its institutions,” he noted that “Younger parents aren’t sure that an unambivalent appreciation of America is the right thing to teach modern children.” And in what may have been the understatement of the decade, he said “. . . As for those who create the popular culture, well-grounded patriotism is no longer the style.”
“We’ve got to do a better job,” Reagan warned, “of getting across that America is freedom — freedom of speech, freedom of religion, freedom of enterprise. And freedom is special and rare. It’s fragile; it needs protection.”
When liberals tell the story of America — and they overwhelmingly dominate the education establishment — they tend to focus excessively on our flaws and sins. By all means, our kids need to know about the civil rights movement, just as they should know all about slavery and Jim Crow. But they should also be taught that this country overcame an ugly history of slavery and racism to a degree unequaled by any other nation on Earth. Nations that have practiced slavery (some still do) and racism are in legion. Those that have managed to transform themselves — to listen to the “better angels of their nature” — are incredibly rare.
In this, as in so much else, the U.S. is exemplary. If the public schools could convey just that much, it would be progress……

Reading most of the postings on the League of the South Web site has clarified in my mind what the real purpose of the Southern Poverty Law Center (which does not practice poverty law, by the way) is: to defame, libel, smear, and slander any and all Jeffersonian critics of the highly centralized, dictatorial, welfare/warfare state empire that so many Americans slave under today. They are self-appointed overseers of the D.C. tax-slave plantation and sworn enemies of free speech.
It would be politically risky for Congress to attempt to pass another Sedition Act to outlaw free speech, but congress critters like William Lacy Clay are more than happy to be assisted by the SPLC with its persistent attacks on speech that is critical of Big Government, all under the phony guise of “fighting hate.”
If Thomas Jefferson were alive today and repeating his speeches about how the tree of liberty must be drenched in the blood of patriots and tyrants; how a revolution every twenty years or so is a healthful medicine for a free society; or how secession should be welcomed and all secessionists treated as “our children,” Americans one and all, he would most certainly be on the top of the Southern Poverty Law Center’s list of haters and “hate group” instigators.

The Southern Poverty Law Center included Republican Senator Rand Paul of Kentucky in a list of “extreme right-wing” candidates in its latest Intelligence Report.
The civil rights organization labeled Paul as an extremist because he said that private businesses should not have to follow the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and has criticized the Fair Housing Act.
The freshman senator has also warned that the United Nations would force the U.S. to “CONFISCATE and DESTROY” all “unauthorized” civilian firearms and wants to build a massive, highly-guarded wall along the Mexican border.
The Southern Poverty Law Center also included U.S. Rep. Steve King (R-IA) and Arizona Senate President Russell Pearce (R) on the list of extremists. Most of those on the list are prominent neo-Nazis, white supremacists, anti-government militiamen, and Klu Klux Klansmen.
The quarterly Intelligence Reports have monitored radical right hate groups and extremists in the United States since 1981.

Libertarians and the Confederate Battle Flag
Libertarians and the Confederate Battle Flag
Libertarians and the Confederate Battle Flag:
“By calling for the eradication of the Confederate battle flag from public places the Cato Institute, the NAACP, and the Southern Poverty Law Center are saying that we should destroy the most enduring symbol of opposition to centralized governmental power and tyranny, a symbol that to this day is a part of secession movements around the world, from Quebec to Northern Italy.
No one was a more articulate and outspoken abolitionist than the great libertarian legal philosopher Lysander Spooner of Massachusetts. But in 1870 Spooner wrote that ‘all these cries of having ‘abolished slavery,’ of having ‘saved the country,’ of having ‘preserved the union,’ of establishing a ‘government of consent,’ and of ‘maintaining the national honor’ are all gross, shameless, transparent cheats — so transparent that they ought to deceive no one.’
The great historian of liberty, Lord Acton, wrote to Robert E. Lee on November 4, 1866, that ‘I saw in States Rights the only availing check upon the absolutism of he sovereign will, and secession filled me with hope, not as the destruction but as the redemption of Democracy. . . . I deemed that you were fighting the battles of our liberty, our progress, and our civilization; and I mourn for the stake which was lost at Richmond more deeply than I rejoice over that which was saved at Waterloo.’”

Do You Qualify As A Domestic Terrorist?
Author: Mac Slavo
April 6th, 2011
A few weeks ago Bernard von NotHaus, purveyor of the gold/silver backed “Liberty Dollar”, was convicted on numerous charges including making, possessing, and selling his own coins, as well as conspiracy against the United States. Western District of North Carolina US attorney Anne Tompkins issued a Department of Justice press release that should raise blaring, high decibel sirens across the entire Union:
“Attempts to undermine the legitimate currency of this country are simply a unique form of domestic terrorism,” U.S. Attorney Tompkins said in announcing the verdict. “While these forms of anti-government activities do not involve violence, they are every bit as insidious and represent a clear and present danger to the economic stability of this country,” she added. “We are determined to meet these threats through infiltration, disruption, and dismantling of organizations which seek to challenge the legitimacy of our democratic form of government.”
The definitions for what is or is not a “terrorist” are ambiguous as defined by the Patriot Act, and have been progressively, hastily and secretively expanded over the course of the last decade. A “terrorist,” it seems, is now anyone who actively engages in an activity – whether it’s violent, peaceful, public or private – perceived to threaten the legitimacy and/or stability of our government.
Government Doing Terror Drill…Featuring Anti-Immigrant White Supremacists!
Foes of illegal immigration are up in arms over plans for a weekend disaster exercise in western Iowa with a fictitious scenario in which white supremacists shoot dozens of people amid rising tensions involving racial minorities and illegal immigrants. The exercise is planned for Saturday at Treynor High School in Pottawattamie County and will involve more than 300 people, confirmed Doug Reed, the lead exercise planner for the county’s emergency management agency. Some 30 to 40 “victims” will be transported to area hospitals.

Tom DeWeese — Two Entities That Threaten Freedom
My name is Tom DeWeese, President of the American Policy Center, and according to the Southern Poverty Law Center I am a right wing extremist, a racist and a potentially violent terrorist. In March, 2010, SPLC issued a report entitled “Rage on the Right: The Year in Hate and Extremism,” in which groups opposed to issues like the Obama health care plan and illegal immigration were lumped with white supremacist groups like the National Socialist Movement and Skin Heads.
In August, 2010 SPLC launched an attack against my organization and our national conference, The Freedom Action Conference, held at Valley Forge, PA, and featured such speakers as best selling author Tom Woods, former presidential candidate Michael Badnarik, Sheriff Richard Mack, several respected state legislators, and many more well known spokesmen. The title of the SPLC attack against me read,“Patriot Rhetoric Becomes Increasingly Violent,” and said we were “united by rage” at the federal government. Not one speaker at our conference advocated violence or lawlessness of any kind.
Yet we were labeled as dangerous and potentially violent terrorists.Annually SPLC puts out a list of what it calls “hate” groups and individuals it deems dangerous to the nation. That list is almost exclusively respected pro- Constitution spokesmen. Now why do I care what this private organization, with its own political agenda, says about me?Because the Southern Poverty Law Center has direct ties to the Department of Homeland Security, helping to write official DHS policy that may affect my life, my freedom, my ability to travel and my ability to speak out.Consider the following facts:
What a ‘Hate Group’ Hates” by Thomas DiLorenzo | Today’s Lead Story
The main source of the lies about me that were told by Congressman William Lacy Clay D-Big Banks at Congressman Ron Paul’s Fed hearing on February 9 was the far left-wing, big government-worshipping hate group known as the Southern Poverty Law Center.
Referring to one of its laughingly-named “intelligence reports,” the SPLC misinformed Clay that I “work for” an alleged “hate group” called The League of the South.
I do not, and never have. I did lecture to some summer seminar students about nineteenth century economic policy at the invitation of Professors Donald Livingston of Emory University and Clyde Wilson of the University of South Carolina over a decade ago under the auspices of the League of the South Institute, which they were trying to get started. Hate was not one of the lecture topics at that summer seminar for students……………………………..
SPLC Report Lumps In We Are Change With Neo-Nazis, KKK
The Southern Poverty Law Center has a history of declaring any protest group it sees as “anti-government” as an “extremist” hate group, without justification.
Today it continues that trend with the publication of yet another report that throws in We Are Change members nationwide with racist Neo Nazi groups and Ku Klux Klan factions.
The SPLC’s annual report, entitled “The Year in Hate & Extremism, 2010″, is being touted as material for mainstream media headlines such as “Anti-government extremist groups on rise in US: study”, and “Survey: more US hate groups than ever before”.
Of course, if you contend that everything, including peaceful protest and citizen journalism is “extremist”, then you are assured to find that “extremism” is most definitely on the rise………………
Police Chief Makes “Sovereign Citizen” Training Video In Wake Of Son’s Death
WEST MEMPHIS, Ark. – Six months ago, two West Memphis police officers were gunned down by a father and son duo who claimed to be members of the anti-government group, “Sovereign Citizens“. One of those officers was the son of West Memphis Police Chief Bob Paudert and now, Chief Paudert is making a training video to alert other officers of the dangers of the group.”I feel like I let these two officers down and this department down and they didn’t know. and had they known they’d be alive today and I’m convinced of that,” said Chief Paudert.Chief Paudert blames himself for the deaths of his son, Sgt. Brandon Paudert and fellow officer Bill Evans.
The two were murdered during this traffic stop, by a father and son claiming to be Sovereign Citizens.SNIPPaudert recently teamed up with the Southern Poverty Law Center to make this training DVD about the group. In the DVD Paudert says, “my men didn’t realize who or what they were dealing with. Neither officer made it home. One of them was my son.”
