AUSTIN – With early voting opening Tuesday, Feb 18, U.S. Sen. John Cornyn angrily attacked Ted Cruz in an interview with The Austin American Statesman, declaring Cruz “bad for America” and boasting “I don’t have any regret” about voting to raise Obama’s debt limit Feb. 12.

Well, the best news of the week (or even the month) is that someone on Capitol Hill still has a spine.

When Rep. Steve Stockman got up and walked out of the president’s State of the Union address on Tuesday night, I rejoiced. Finally, someone has decided that enough is enough!

Stockman apparently couldn’t make it through the entire speech without losing his temper. He’s mad that President Obama is rewriting the U.S. Constitution, and he has every right to be.

Here’s what Stockman had to say:

Tonight I left early after hearing how the president is further abusing his Constitutional powers. I could not bear to watch as he continued to cross the clearly defined boundaries of the Constitutional separation of powers.

Even worse, Obama has openly vowed to break his oath of office and begin enacting his own brand of law through executive decree. This is a wholesale violation of his oath of office and a disqualifying offense.

Stockman didn’t stop there, either.

He went on to proclaim: “I’m considering filing Articles of Impeachment against Barack Obama.”

Now we’re talking!

The nation is tired of the Republican leadership’s complacency and the “let’s all get along” culture that’s endemic among politicians. And finally, it appears that someone on the Hill agrees.

Instead of acting like nothing is wrong, Stockman is speaking the frustration of millions of Americans, citizens who are sickened by their selfish, do-nothing leaders who only care about getting re-elected at all costs.

Recent polls show that just 31% of Americans believe that the country is better off now than in 2009, when Obama was sworn in. And a new Rasmussen poll reported that 69% of likely voters believe that the president should work with Congress, while only 27% believe that the president should go around Congress.

Rep. Steve Stockman says he has not been missing in action this month and blasted the media for claiming that no one knew where he was .

The Texas Republican slammed an Associated Press story last week that detailed him missing every vote in Congress since Jan. 9 — 17 in all — and reported that he had been virtually unseen in Texas, where he is mounting a primary campaign from the right against incumbent Sen. John Cornyn.

In fact, Stockman told Breitbart News, he went on a trip with four other members of Congress to Egypt, Israel, England and Russia.

Chuck Baldwin — One Good Thing The Reelection Of Barack Obama Has Accomplished… (“A Sleeping Giant Is Awaking”)

A Sleeping Giant Is Awaking

Many people across the country are rightly concerned as to what another four-year Obama administration is going to accomplish. According to the UK’s Daily Mail Online, “Although America carried President Obama confidently into a second term last Tuesday–not everyone is jumping for joy at the prospect of four more years.

“Tens of thousands have put their names to secession petitions in 20 states, asking that they peacefully become independent from the rest of the country.

“The documents have been lodged on a government website We The People–and Texas has almost enough people behind its petition to warrant an official White House response.

“Along with the Lone Star state, petitions were filed from Alabama, Arkansas, Colorado, Florida, Indiana, Kentucky, Louisiana, Michigan, Mississippi, Missouri, Montana, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, North Dakota, Oregon, South Carolina and Tennessee. So keen are the folks in Georgia for a separation, that they filed their petition twice.

Anyone who has been reading my columns for any length time knows that I am a staunch supporter (and, yes, friend) of Texas Congressman Ron Paul. I have written previously on why I believe Dr. Paul is the man that should be elected President of the United States in 2012. I’ve devoted several columns to promoting Ron Paul’s Presidential candidacy. Here was my latest.

I am also on record as saying I believe that historians will recognize Ron Paul as being the greatest US Congressman in American history. Rep. Paul has been the voice of constitutional government and liberty on Capitol Hill for nearly two and a half decades. No one in Washington, D.C., has even come close to his leadership and courage.

That said, the disconcerting element of the 2012 elections is that Dr. Paul has already made the announcement that he will not seek reelection to the US House of Representatives. That means, if Ron is not elected President, the American people will not have his voice in Washington, D.C., for the first time in over a generation. That thought is extremely troubling.
