It states they wanted access to everything the members had access to, which would be chats, email, contact information, etc.

Judge Andrew Napolitano weighed in this morning on Fox and Friends on the scandal involving the IRS‘s targeting of conservative political groups, like the Tea Party.
The IRS admitted last week after years of pressure from conservative watchdog groups that it had in fact been singling out right-wing organizations for extra scrutiny of their applications for tax-exempt status.
The judge said the IRS’s actions appear to be a clear violation of the First Amendment.

Kevin Drum outlines what I take to be the emerging case for the defense of the IRS agents who applied special scrutiny to tax-exemption applications from Tea Party groups:

Roughly speaking, what seems to have happened is that three years ago the IRS was facing an explosion of newly formed 501(c)4 groups claiming tax exempt status, something that’s legal only for groups that are primarily engaged in promoting education or social welfare, not electioneering. So some folks in the Cincinnati office tried to come up with a quick filter to flag groups that deserved extra scrutiny.

But what should that flag be? Well, three years ago the explosion happened to be among tea party groups, so they began searching their database “for applications with ‘Tea Party,’ ‘Patriots,’ or ’9/12′ in the organization’s name as well as other ‘political sounding’ names.” This was dumb, and when senior leaders found out about it, they put a quick stop to it . . .

In another break from Republican Party orthodoxy, Kentucky Senator Rand Paul has said that America’s illegal immigrants should be integrated into the tax system in a program that would eventually lead to the possibility of citizenship.
Speaking about immigration issues at the US Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, Paul said “Let’s start that conversation by acknowledging we aren’t going to deport” the millions of illegal immigrants living in the United States en masse.
“Prudence, compassion and thrift all point us toward the same goal: bringing these workers out of the shadows and into becoming and being taxpaying members of society,” the Tea Party leader and suspected 2016 presidential candidate added.

Here is video of Judge Andrew Napolitano on “Fox & Friends” this morning saying what Barack Obama is doing with the “Sequester” is “almost an impeachable offense.” Napolitano blasted Obama for using the “Sequester” to “hurt” the nation, when it is his Constitutional duty to “make the Government work.”

“He can decide where the cuts happen,” Napolitano said, even though Obama is acting as if his hands are tied and the most essential services must be cut. In reality, Napolitano pointed out Obama could fund anything he wishes to fund and cut something else less important, since he is the Chief Executive of the nation. Instead, he wants to use the “Sequester” as a political tool to demonize Republicans. Lost in all of this, of course, is that the “Sequester” was Obama’s idea to start with.

On Thursday, February 14, 2013, Senator Lamar Alexander, Republican from Tennessee, joined fellow lawmakers in reintroducing a bill that would allow all states to require online retailers to collect sales tax just like their “Main Street” rivals.
The idea isn’t a new one. However, a 1992 Supreme Court decision stated that a business must have a physical presence within the state in order for the state to collect sales tax when someone purchases from that business.

Dear Folks, The earth is moving under our feet now. We are seeing some really grass roots movements emerging, and this time by key organizations taking the leadership rather than sticking their finger into the air and waiting until it is safe to declare which side they are on.
The U.S. Constitution: ‘A Mere Thing of Wax’
The Tea Party‘s greatest strength has been at the state level. Instead of changing Washington, its interests are better served changing state legislatures. Instead of requiring candidates for state office to sign anti-tax pledges, Tea Party support should be predicated on their signing pledges calling for a Constitutional Convention.

Allow me to give one example: A Constitutional Amendment that declares states may individually nullify the imposition of congressional laws through state legislation (think ObamaCare). Furthermore, should two-thirds of the states do likewise; the national law is declared unconstitutional in its entirety. This preserves the integrity of republican government and ends the tyrannical stranglehold of Washington and the Supreme Court.

I am sure many of you can and will relate to what I am about to write. After the election, I was in a bad mood. I still wonder why we were not able to get out our vote and carry the day on November 6. I am finding it amusing to watch the professional pundits as they toss around ideas about how and where the Republican Party needs to change. Bill Kristol seems to believe we have to concede the ground on taxes and allow them to be raised on millionaires.

Yesterday, the Republican National Committee in Tampa adopted some rules changes that shift power from the state parties and the grassroots to the RNC and the GOP presidential nominee. Former Governor John Sununu of New Hampshiretouted the new rules as providing “a strong governing framework” for the party over the next four years.

It’s over. Romney’s camp just shut down all dissent, and they rigged it that way. Twitter is awash in angry tweets from people who know this was a sham. John Boehner actually wielded the gavel without a hint of a tear as he said “the ayes have it.”
They didn’t have it, and I think it was pretty clear that even if they did, this was a set-up. I have news for the GOP establishment. I am voting in November. I will vote for all the down-ballot candidates who are worthy of my support. I am not going to vote for Mitt Romney. Read more…

British Constitution Group Chairman Roger Hayes was arrested by police yesterday morning in scenes “reminiscent of Stasi East Germany,” before being tried in secret and sentenced to prison over Hayes’ refusal to pay state taxes.
Concerned supporters called Merseyside Police in an effort to get information on Hayes’ arrest.

I will not vote for Marco Rubio as Vice President if Mitt Romney selects him to run on his ticket. He is NOT constitutionally eligible to be President or Vice President, and I would be a damn hypocrite in holding my ire and giving him my vote after working as hard as possible to educate people on Barack Obama’s ineligibility.
