George Zimmerman’s estranged wife Shellie Zimmerman called police Monday, saying that her husband had punched her father in the face and that he was threatening them with a gun. It is the most recent evidence of tensions between Shellie Zimmerman and her husband, who was acquitted two months ago in the shooting death of Trayvon Martin after a widely controversial murder trial.

Teddy Roosevelt, in 1906, said, “The one absolutely certain way of bringing this nation to ruin, or prevent all possibility of its continuing to be a national at all, would be to permit it to become a tangle of squabbling nationalities. We have but one flag. We have one language, English.”
With the killing of African-American Trayvon Martin by a Latino-American George Zimmerman, President Teddy Roosevelt’s brilliant statement over 100 years ago—exemplifies America’s exploding racial and linguistic divide.
Before 1965 and Senator Teddy Kennedy’s Immigration Reform Act, America thrived on a 90 percent European, 7 percent African and 3 percent Latino population. While Dr. Martin Luther King brought equality of opportunity and human rights, he failed to bring to inspire African-Americans to higher educational standards. Today, racism rears its ugly head with cyclical welfare dependency, illiteracy, joblessness because of a lack of education, skills and personal accountability, welfare babies and entrenched poverty for a growing population of black Americans.

A new poll by NBC News and the Wall Street Journal reveals that public perceptions about race relations in America have taken a devastating hit since the election of Barack Obama. At the beginning of the president’s first term, 79 percent of whites and 63 percent of blacks had a positive view of American race relations.
Those numbers have plummeted to 52 percent and 38 percent, respectively. Meanwhile, 45 percent of whites now consider race relations fairly or very bad, compared with 20 percent in 2009, and the negative views held by black Americans has jumped from 30 percent to 58 percent. Thus, the idea that the election of Barack Obama would usher in a golden age of so-called post-racial relations has exploded. And the president and his administration bear the lion’s share of the responsibility for lighting the fuse.
The poll, conducted in mid-July by Hart Research Associations and Public Opinion Strategies, has tracked Americans’ attitudes about race since 1994. And despite only a single poll question regarding the Zimmerman trial, which asked whether the outcome increased, decreased, or didn’t affect one’s confidence in the legal system, the steepest decline in positive views, and greatest increase in negative views, occurred in the last two years. That the timeframe largely coincides with the Trayvon Martin shooting controversy is likely no coincidence.

News that George Zimmerman helped save a Floridian trapped under an overturned truck just days after being acquitted in the Trayvon Martin murder trial, has been met with an overly healthy dose of skepticism on Twitter.

On Friday, July 19, 2013, in a surprise appearance in the White House briefing room, Obama compared himself to Trayvon in his first public remarks on the Florida jury’s acquittal of George Zimmerman of all murder/manslaughter charges in last year’s shooting of 5′ 11″ Trayvon Martin. FULL TITLE – “Nobody Will Go Near Rachel Jeantel’s Revelation That Trayvon Martin Inflicted a “Whoop Ass” on George Zimmerman Because He Thought Zimmerman was Gay”
RUSH: Let me go back to Piers Morgan CNN two nights ago. I keep learning things that Rachel Jeantel said. I didn’t hear the interview. I just read about it. The audio sound bites that we heard yesterday are all I’ve heard. I didn’t watch it. Apparently she said something else that’s kind of entertaining. This is from Breitbart News. “Prosecution witness Rachel Jeantel, speaking to Piers Morgan on CNN last night, explained that George Zimmerman had misunderstood the beating he was receiving from Trayvon Martin, and so had the jury in his trial.
“Zimmerman was not facing a potentially life-threatening ‘bashing,’ but simply a ‘whoop ass.’” Here’s her quote, Rachel Jeantel’s quote from Monday night on CNN: “They don’t understand, they understand, ‘Oh, he would just bash, or was kill.’ When somebody bash somebody, like, blood people, trust me, in the area I live, that’s not bashing.
That’s just called ‘whoop ass.’ You just got your ass whooped. That’s what it is.”

Mark O’Mara, lead defense attorney for George Zimmerman in the Trayvon Martin shooting case is speaking freely about Martin’s criminal background now that his client has been acquitted.
Appearing on CNN’s Headline News channel Monday morning, O’Mara was asked if Zimmerman has regrets over targeting a boy walking home without any ill intent.
O’Mara mentioned that Martin was under the influence of marijuana and that he was spotted near a home that had recently been burglarized.
O’Mara went on to say that Martin had recently been “caught with the fruits of a burglary.” A reference to the watch, jewelry and burglary tool found in Martin’s backpack by school authorities several months before.
With that comment, O’Mara is serving notice to those who will pursue Zimmerman in civil court that the barriers to evidence in the criminal case of Martin’s recent troubled history before his death will not pertain in civil court.

That the prosecution in the Zimmerman trial asked the judge to allow a verdict of “third-degree murder” — i.e., child abuse, since Trayvon Martin was 17 — testifies to the prosecution’s failure and panic.
For George Zimmerman‘s defense has proven, beyond a reasonable doubt, that he shot Trayvon Martin not out of malice, rage or hate — but in a desperate act of self-defense.
Zimmerman was being beaten “ground-and-pound,” mixed martial arts style. His head was being banged on the cement. Screaming again and again for help, he pulled out his gun and fired.
Even the prosecution is now conceding Trayvon might have been on top, and is now scrambling for a compromise verdict on a lesser charge than second-degree murder, a charge that never should have been brought. Indeed, this trial should never have been held.
Reversible Error in Zimmerman Before We Even Get a Verdict?

In presiding over the trial of George Zimmerman, who is accused of murdering Trayvon Martin, Judge Debra Nelson has made some awful rulings — none worse than failing to direct a verdict of acquittal on the preposterous second-degree “depraved mind” murder charge . The state’s evidence that Zimmerman had the necessary criminal intent is non-existent, much less sufficient to meet the “beyond a reasonable doubt” standard. Compelling evidence, moreover, establishes that Zimmerman acted in self-defense, a claim the state has not come close to refuting. (See Andrew Branca’s comprehensive summary here.)

George Zimmerman’s prosecutors want to add lesser charges for the death of Florida teen Trayvon Martin, including manslaughter and third-degree murder, possibly because they’re worried he’ll be acquitted. Originally, Zimmerman just faced second-degree murder charges for shooting and killing 17-year-old Martin.
He claims self-defense, saying that Martin punched him in the face and smashed his head into the sidewalk.

The media and the liberal left are coming unhinged. In their minds, since they figure they have the power to control everything, this trial against George “Creepy-# Cracker” Zimmerman should have been a slam-dunk.
We are being told that Zimmerman hunted down and killed the poor child because poor, innocent Trayvon Martin was black. And now, as the wheels come off, and it is beginning to look like Zimmerman is going to walk because his story that Trayvon attacked him and his was a fight of self-defense, the Left, through politicians and the media, are inciting race riots.
They want this to be the Rodney King riots, on steroids.

Miami has efforts to keep the peace underway as well.
Across America, pundits and analysts have been warning that a “not guilty” verdict in the controversial case could set off an explosive wave of deadly violence rivaling the mass riots that ensued following the 1992 Rodney King trial. If mayhem does strike, analysts say the establishment media, President Obama, and assorted race-profiteers would bear much of the blame.
Well before the verdict is announced, agitators and provocateurs are already using social-media services to broadcast their intentions to unleash chaos and death. One Facebook page being investigated by authorities, for example, was entitled “RIOT for Trayvon.”
In its description, the page read: “They don’t think we will tear this mutha —– [expletive deleted] up! LIKE IF YOU READY TO RIDE! LETS FLEX OUR MUSCLE! WHAT, YOU SCARED?” Other pages brazenly call for murder. On Twitter, meanwhile, violent messages from self-styled Trayvon Martin supporters have also been calling for violence, mayhem, and killing if the jury refuses to convict Zimmerman of second-degree murder — a prospect that appears increasingly likely as the prosecution’s case implodes.

That boy also carried a hell of a punch, and now the evidence has emerged that proves it – a front-on, high resolution, color photo of Zimmerman, sitting in a police car, blood dripping from his swollen, disfigured nose

Harvard Law School professor Alan Dershowitz recently claimed that Special Prosecutor Angela Corey, who charged George Zimmerman in the shooting death of 17-year-old Trayvon Martin, threatened to sue Dershowitz for libel and slanderand to have him disbarred.
Within the next two weeks, the public will know exactly what George Zimmerman, in his own words, told authorities about the night he shot 17-year-old Trayvon Martin.
Among Lester’s other rulings: “Tests” performed on Zimmerman, likely referring to a voice-stress test performed by police, the rough equivalent of a lie-detector test, can be made public, but most of Zimmerman’s phone records will not be.
Thousands of emails sent to police about the case will be released but not photos depicting Trayvon’s body.
George Zimmerman’s public image took a blow when a judge revoked his bond, alleging that Zimmerman willfully misled the court concerning his financial situation. The fact that he’s back in jail makes him appear guilty in the public’s eye, and that’s what matters. Whether or not Zimmerman misled the court is immaterial. In fact, his guilt or innocence is immaterial. His trial has transcended justice; it’s now about capitalizing on opportunity.
The Trayvon Martin case’s Judge Lester has made a judicial misstep about the George Zimmerman bond revocation. And it’s a misstep which only serves to increase the racial tensions in the country, unnecessarily.

SANFORD, Fla. (AP) — Judge revokes Zimmerman’s bond in Trayvon Martin killing; gives him 72 hours to surrender.
Had a rare video surfaced in which a black toddler was being brutalized by agents of the Transportation Security Administration, President Barack Obama would have enough solidarity, and some to spare. “If I had a son,” he’d say, “he’d look like the boy whose breeches were breached by adults who should know better.”
I don’t wish the homegrown terrorists of the TSA to become equal-opportunity offenders; I want Congress to call off these attack dogs, now.
Still, I am unconvinced that when they travel, black women, tots and geriatrics are subjected to the same invasive searches as are whites.
My own experience this month was uneventful. I was spared the rogering I’ve endured in the past, thanks, I believe, to the advice of WND’s commentary editor: “Wear loose clothing.” A young TSA agent waved me by.
I did see a tall and handsome TSA worker working-over a little old man (aged 80, perhaps). The agent was black; his victim Caucasian. It looked as though the former was examining the hunched old man’s colostomy bag. It took the agent forever. He appeared to be enjoying himself.
Several key witnesses in the shooting death of Trayvon Martin by Neighborhood Watch captain George Zimmerman have changed their original stories since first being interviewed by law enforcement, according to news reports about recently released evidence in the case.
Some analysts cited in the media speculated that three of those revised accounts might hurt the shooter’s claims of self-defense as the second-degree murder prosecution goes through the Florida court system.
Evidence released last week in the second-degree-murder case against George Zimmerman shows four key witnesses made major changes in what they say they saw and heard the night he fatally shot 17-year-old Trayvon Martin in Sanford.
The extent of Florida prosecutor Angela Corey’s gross indifference to the facts in the Trayvon Martin case is exceeded only by that of many in the press who agitated for George Zimmerman’s prosecution for murder. Alan Dershowitz explains the latest evidence, which causes him to conclude that Corey acted improperly:
A witness told Florida cops that he saw Trayvon Martin straddling George Zimmerman and pummeling the neighborhood watch captain “MMA style” shortly before the unarmed teen was felled by a gunshot to the chest.
The witness’s account was included in Sanford Police Department reports released today.
Trayvon Martin had drugs in his system the night he was shot and killed, a medical report has revealed.
The autopsy on the 17-year-old showed traces of THC, which is found in marijuana, in the teenager’s blood and urine.

FBI may charge George Zimmerman with hate crime

WFTV has learned charges against George Zimmerman could be getting more serious.
State prosecutors said Zimmerman, a neighborhood watchman, profiled and stalked 17-year-old Trayvon Martin before killing him, so the FBI is now looking into charging him with a hate crime.
A Miami-Dade County firefighter under investigation by his department for a controversial posting he reportedly made on his personal Facebook page about the Trayvon Martin case has been demoted, Local 10 has learned.
The controversial post read, “I and my co-workers could rewrite the book on whether our urban youths are victims of racist profiling or products of their failed, (expletive), ignorant, pathetic, welfare dependent excuses for parents.”
The post caused a firestorm of controversy. Locally, black civic activists staged protests, demanding that Beckmann be fired. Some called him a racist and questioned his ability to serve the community.
At the request of my online editor, I am very hesitantly going to discuss the Trayvon Martin case, only because it has huge teachable potential to anyone thinking about carrying a gun for self defense.
The Trayvon Martin case is just about the ultimate Worst Case Scenario, a “Perfect Storm” if you will when it comes to a concealed carry confrontation (one where the shooter survives). I am not talking about the actual physical confrontation, but rather the aftermath.
What evidence does Special Prosecutor Angela Corey have that prompted her to charge George Zimmerman with murdering Trayvon Martin? So far, she has refused to say.
Before long, though, she will be required by law to release the evidence — which fills several boxes. What will it show?
“It’ll be like little bits and pieces that will have to be strung together,” said Adam Pollack, an Orlando criminal-trial attorney. “Almost a bunch of little dots. Initially, the little dots don’t make much sense, but if you step back, you see a bigger picture.”

Does the Third Amendment Speak to the George Zimmerman Case? (“But what has not been discussed is whether as a Neighborhood Watch volunteer, George Zimmerman… “)
Author’s Note, April 23, 2012: I have removed the word “gated” from my description of the Twin Lakes community per the following link: “According to Ryan Julison, assistant to Martin family attorney Benjamin Crump, Twin Lakes is actually not entirely gated.
There is also no guard at the gate, there are no high fences. The community is just modest condos, Julison says, not protected with the electronic equivalent of a castle moat. So the Gate Access Form provided by The Retreat at Twin Lakes Homeowners Association could be considered somewhat misleading.” – J. Neil Schulman
On February 26, 2012 George Zimmerman, a neighborhood watch volunteer in the Sanford, Florida Retreat at Twin Lakes community which had recently suffered a spate of home burglaries, observed 17-year-old Trayvon Martin walking in circles in the rain, and telephoned his local police department to report the activity as suspicious.
While on the phone with the police dispatcher Zimmerman reportedly followed Martin, and at some point there was a confrontation between Zimmerman and Martin in which witnesses report Zimmerman down on the ground with Martin on top of him. We know this confrontation ended when Zimmerman, who was licensed to carry a concealed firearm, fatally shot Martin.
Zimmerman is now out on bond, charged by Florida with Second Degree Murder. The state’s affidavit in support of this charge alleges that Zimmerman improperly followed Martin, initiating the confrontation, even though in the bail hearing State Investigator Dale Gilbreath testified that Florida does not know whether Zimmerman continued to follow Martin after the police dispatcher advised him this was not needed, and even though according to Dale Gilbreath’s testimony the State does not know whether Zimmerman or Martin started the fight.
But it’s the Florida prosecution’s contention that Zimmerman can not claim self-defense justifying his use of deadly force since by following Martin he created the circumstances leading to the teenager’s death.
Much of the discussion of this case has referred to Zimmerman’s right to be armed, constitutionally preserved under the Second Amendment. I’ve previously written on these pages that instead of restricting George Zimmerman’s right to keep and bear arms, it should have been expanded to include Trayvon Martin’s right to defend his life.
But what has not been discussed is whether as a Neighborhood Watch volunteer, George Zimmerman was acting properly in following Trayvon Martin.
I think the Third Amendment speaks to that question.
