Did State Dept. hide this dramatic evacuation?

May 14, 2013 1 comment

JERUSALEM – Did the State Department scrub information about a dramatic incident the night of the Sept. 11, 2012, Benghazi attack in which U.S. Embassy staff 400 miles away in Tripoli evacuated their residential compound under possible terror threat?

The threat was taken so seriously that, according to a key embassy staffer, communications equipment was dismantled and hard drives were smashed with an ax.

The scene was first brought to light in congressional testimony last week by Gregory Hicks, the former U.S. deputy chief of mission in Libya, but it remains largely unreported by news media.

The incident also was not mentioned in the State Department probe nor was it previously reported in news accounts of the attack, which the Obama administration first claimed was a result of popular protests about an anti-Muhammad video.

In the hours that followed, Hicks says, the Libyan military agreed to fly a C-130 from Tripoli to Benghazi in the early morning hours of September 12 – a flight that was to include a second team of Special Operations soldiers – dispatched from the Libyan capital to join a team sent earlier to Benghazi. But as those reinforcements were leaving for the flight, they were told to stand down. Hicks received the news in an early morning phone call from a top military commander in the region.

Benghazi explained: Interview with an “Intelligence Insider”

November 28, 2012 1 comment

This is part one of a multi-part interview with a government insider intimately familiar with the events that took place in Benghazi. In this part, he provides important background, and explains this administration is engaged in a massive cover-up.

DH: It’s been a while since we’ve discussed Benghazi. What have you heard lately?

II: Before I answer that, I want to get a few things off my chest. Every politician, whether it’s a congressman senator, diplomat, or their spokespeople and the media are lying to the American public every time they call the location of the attack a consulate. It was not. There was absolutely no diplomatic consulate in Benghazi. None. Words are important here. They can create a wrong image, an incorrect picture of what was really going on. The property where our Ambassador and other Americans were murdered was a rented villa consisting of a primary residence with a couple of outbuildings behind the actual house. The reason they’re still calling it a consulate is to subtly divert any questions about our activities there.

DH: Let’s go over this again; exactly what was taking place at Benghazi?

Krauthammer: WH ‘Held Affair Over Petraeus’s Head’ For Favorable Testimony On Benghazi

November 14, 2012 Leave a comment

Syndicated columnist Charles Krauthammer on Tuesday said the White House used David Petraeus’s affair to get the CIA director to give testimony about the attacks on the U.S. consulate in Benghazi, Libya, that was in line with the administration’s position on the matter….

KRAUTHAMMER: I think the really shocking news today was that General Petraeus thought and hoped he could keep his job. He thought that it might and it would be kept secret, and that he could stay in his position. I think what that tells us is really important. It meant that he understood that the FBI obviously knew what was going on. He was hoping that those administration officials would not disclose what had happened, and therefore hoping that he would keep his job. And that meant that he understood that his job, his reputation, his legacy, his whole celebrated life was in the hands of the administration, and he expected they would protect him by keeping it quiet.

Was the attack on Benghazi an “October Surprise” gone bad?

Folks, is it possible that the gruesome murder of our Ambassador in Benghazi was acutally the beginnings of an October surprizegone horribly awry?

I believe that somehow, because of all the unanswered questions there…because of the unbelievably chaotic and rushed manner in which the Obama administration tried to cover it up…and continued to cover it up well past all rational thinking would indicate that they were doing ss…and because of just common sense questions, questions like:

They are murderers and, yes, they are Muslim murderers.

When President Jefferson decided to send a naval expedition to Tripoli to rescue American seamen and punish the Barbary pirates, the opposition to him was practical: did we have the naval vessels and if not did we want to raise taxes to pay for them? Did we have allies with whom to embark on such a difficult campaign? Assuming success, what were we supposed to do next to insure the pirates did not lie low, regroup, begin their trade as soon as we looked the other way?

The Concord Minute Man of 1775 by Daniel Chest...

Image via Wikipedia

Lexington Green. Dawn. April 19, 1775. Captain John Parker, commander of the Lexington militia, stood among seventy-some men, many of them kin, all of them neither rich nor poor, awaiting the arrival of the British Regulars.

Facing overwhelming odds, Captain Parker turned to his men and said, “The first man who offers to run shall be shot down. Stand your ground!

Don’t fire until fired upon! But if they want to have a war, let it begin here!”Later that morning, on the training field just across the Concord River from the town of Concord, members of the colonial militia watched as smoke began to rise from the town. Lieutenant Joseph Hosmer turned to Colonel James Barrett, overall commander of the Concord militia, and said, “Will you let them burn the town down?” Upon hearing this, Captain Isaac Davis drew his sword and replied, “I haven’t a man who is afraid to go……

Lockerbie bomber, no longer in “coma,” says his role was exaggerated

October 4, 2011 Leave a comment

Remember at the end of August, when Tripoli was falling and Abdel Basset Ali al-Megrahi took a timely turn for the worse? He was portrayed as “comatose” and the rebels refused to extradite him; after all, he was supposedly very, very near death.

It’s a miracle. In what appears to be a new interview, he’s conscious, coherent, and talking, and says his role was “exaggerated,” even as the National Transitional Council gives mixed signals on how much it will cooperate in further investigations.

“Megrahi says his Lockerbie role exaggerated,” by Mahmoud al-Ghirbani for Reuters, October 3:

TRIPOLI (Reuters) – Abdel Basset al-Megrahi, the man convicted of the 1988 Lockerbie bombing that killed 270 people, said his role in the attack had been exaggerated and the truth about what really happened would emerge soon. Megrahi, released from a Scottish prison two years ago because he was suffering from terminal cancer, spoke to Reuters from a bed at his Tripoli home. Looking frail and his breathing labored, he said he had only a few months, at most, to live. “The facts (about the Lockerbie bombing) will become clear one day and hopefully in the near future. In a few months from now, you will see new facts that will be announced,” he told Reuters Television over the pinging of medical monitors. Everyone’s impressed by the “machine that goes ‘ping!’”

“The West exaggerated my name. Please leave me alone. I only have a few more days, weeks or months.” Megrahi was found guilty in 2001 of bombing Pan Am flight 103 as it flew to New York from London on December 21, 1988. All 259 people aboard the aircraft were killed and 11 others on the ground in the Scottish town of Lockerbie also died from falling wreckage. His release on compassionate grounds angered many relatives of the victims, 189 of whom were American, and the Obama administration criticized the decision. A number of U.S. politicians have pressed for his extradition to the U.S. The United States said on Monday it still believed Megrahi should be behind bars. “He does seem to have made a miraculous recovery…he never should have been let out of jail,” State Department spokeswoman Victoria Nuland said. “We continue to believe that the right place for Megrahi is behind bars and we will continue to make that case to the Libyans.” Megrahi, who had served as an intelligence agent during the rule of deposed Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi, denied any role in suspected human rights abuses in his home country. “All my work was administrative. I never harmed Libyans,” he said.” I didn’t harm anyone. I’ve never harmed anyone in my life.”…

Clarence Thomas: Liberal nightmare on Obamacare

Clarence Thomas: Liberal nightmare on Obamacare:

In the glossy pages of the New Yorker, in graceful prose and with good reporting, the dreams and nightmares of the admirers of President Obama and his policies lay exposed.

The dreams include Ryan Lizza‘s report last April in which he quoted an Obama adviser saying the president’s policy on Libya was “leading from behind.” This week, as Tripoli seemed about to fall, the magazine’s editor David Remnick hailed Obama’s “calculated modesty.”

The nightmare appeared in last week’s issue, in Jeffrey Toobin‘s lengthy article on Supreme Court jurisprudence, titled “Partners” and subtitled “Will Clarence and Virginia Thomas succeed in killing Obama’s health-care plan?”………………………….

Media Openly Admits Foreign Special Forces Behind Overthrow of Gaddafi

August 24, 2011 Leave a comment

Following the arrival of foreign troops, Al Jazeera reported “that an unnamed rebel source related how he had undergone training in military techniques at a ‘secret facility’ in eastern Libya.”

In June, despite denials by British PM David Cameron, ex-SAS troops were photographed with rebels in Libya. “Blending in with the insurgents in sand-colored clothes, peaked caps, shades and linen scarves, they are the UK’s unofficial boots on the ground,” the UK Mirror reported. “Highly trained with front line experience round the world, the crack unit has been in the country for the past four weeks.”

From the outset of the engineered coup against Gaddafi, the corporate media admitted the rebels are disorganized and not arranged along military lines. “Although the rebel forces are showing signs of improved organization, they are not formed into units, and coordination is rudimentary at best,” USA Today reported on March 11.

Asked whom he takes orders from, rebel Assam Mahmoud, 25, said, “Allah.”

Independent journalist claims CNN made threats if al-Qaeda is mentioned in news reports.

Allah and NATO with the assistance of crack special forces troops from the U.S., France, and the United Kingdom.

It is more obvious with every passing day that the so-called “rebels,” comprised in large part of al-Qaeda remnants from a campaign directed against the U.S. occupation of Iraq, are merely a front for corporate media cameras and interviews.

Special forces are doing the real fighting in Libya with air support from NATO. Under such military pressure, it is only a matter of time before Libya falls and becomes another poverty-wracked third world outpost, profits from its only viable natural asset – oil – siphoned off to Wall Street and the City of London.

Like the “wars” in Afghanistan, Pakistan and Iraq, the conflict in Libya is designed to last for a generation or more. After Gaddafi, warns Bayless Parsley of Stratfor, the country may experience a civil war between competing rebel factions………….

Prison Planet.comLibya: NATO Psy-Op Collapses – Qaddafi Prevails Again:

Everything we have been told, from President Obama’s teleprompter readings to Luis Moreno-Ocampo of the ICC’s claims of Saif’s “confirmed” capture, to the mainstream media and the Al Qaeda infested “Transitional National Council” are now systematically being exposed as overt, verified lies as part of what may be the biggest psychological operation in modern history.

Al Jazeera who was already featuring lofty “The Last Days of Gaddafi” narratives is now forced to face reality and irrefutable evidence that the rebel operations in Tripoli were clearly over-hyped war propaganda and the reality is Qaddafi and the Libyan people have called NATO’s bluff……………………………………

Prison Planet.com Is the “Imminent Liberation of Libya” Propaganda?:

NOTE FROM ALEX JONES:

The below article is an excellent summary of the propaganda that has been underway in Libya since February and March. The latest claims that the rebels are on the verge of taking over Tripoli is 100% propaganda that fits with repeated narratives every week of Gaddafi’s imminent demise or of the rebels about to take Tripoli. Gaddafi may indeed fall in the end, but the peoples of the world have been strung along by premeditated lies since the beginning.

Recall that President Obama touted to the world in………………

Obama Speech Analysis: a Weird Journey Through the Mind of a Narcissist

March 28, 2011 Leave a comment

The President’s address was an exercise in psychodrama, a weird journey through the mind of a narcissist who can’t believe all the nasty things people are saying about him.

Obama‘s id is wrestling with the comparisons between his Libyan intervention and George Bush’s action in Iraq. He made a point of criticizing Iraq, which had a vastly larger international coalition behind it than Obama does now, united in the struggle to depose an even more gruesome and sadistic monster than Qaddafi. He warned us that we might be stuck in post-Qaddafi Libya for a while because “40 years of terror left Libya fractured.” The left never cut Bush any slack for trying to rebuild a country traumatized by decades of terror from Saddam Hussein.

The President’s ego is very sensitive to the criticism that his handling of the Libyan situation was lazy and disengaged. He’s constructed a new narrative in his own mind, where he “created the conditions for others to step up,” leading the Europeans to declare “a willingness to commit resources.” Thus does Obama retroactively become the hero of a military operation France, England, and Hillary Clinton dragged him into, and which he authorized with a few peevish phone calls from a South American junket.

Obama is clearly working through some deep issues about the Clintons. He took a few unexpected, oblique shots at Bill Clinton, noting that “the international community waited more than a year” before intervening in Bosnia, while Obama got ordinance dropped on Tripoli “in 31 days.” He also congratulated himself for refusing “to wait for images of slaughter and mass graves before taking action.” You might want to put some ice on that, Mr. Clinton.

Editorial: $100 Oil Is Devil’s Due For Drilling Bans

February 23, 2011 Leave a comment

President Obama talks much of moving to sustainable energy. But as he blocks domestic drilling, the reality is he’s outsourced U.S. oil needs to mad-dog dictators like Libya’s Moammar Gadhafi.

That’s even less sustainable.Oil prices hit $100 a barrel Wednesday as thousands of Libyans marched in Tripoli.

The crazed Gadhafi vowed to fight to “the last bullet,” denouncing his own countrymen as “greasy rats” and turning his weapons of war on 1,000 of them.He also threatened to incinerate his nation’s oil wells as he goes down, an unsubtle suggestion to Big Oil companies operating in his country that they should act to save his regime.

As a result, oil is soaring because markets worry that a string of petro-tyrants will go down like Gadhafi and energy may soon become scarce. How did it come to this? U.S. dependence on imports — from dictators like Gadhafi — is a big factor. The problem is that we have no political will to drill. The U.S. has plenty of oil resources.

Yet our president seems set on pursuing boutique alternative energy schemes dependent on huge public subsidies. As that happens, U.S. dependence on imports grows.Excerpt Read more at investors.com …
