Texas Attorney General Greg Abbott on Tuesday vowed to use every means necessary to fight the “dangerous” United Nations global arms treaty that was overwhelmingly approved by the General Assembly on Tuesday.
Speaking to a group of reporters on a conference call, Abbott warned that the arms treaty “raises a red warning flag to anyone concerned about the liberties guaranteed to all Americans under the United States Constitution.”
“That flag was raised when the United States agreed to the passage of the United Nations Arms Trade Treaty,” he added.
“This treaty is a dangerous threat, not only to Second Amendment rights under the United States Constitution, but also erodes our constitutional liberties by placing more of the control of those liberties in the hands of bureaucrats at the United Nations.”

During the funeral for two Santa Cruz Police Officers, Former Secretary of Defense, Leon Panetta, did something unexpected.
He dove into the suspect’s background. “We do know that he had a history of sexual violence both in and out of the military, and for whatever reason, people somehow always look the other way,” Panetta said.
Jeremy Goulet was accused of raping two military officers in 2006, while in the army, but a plea bargain allowed him to walk away, with a less than honorable discharge. “At some point, somebody pays a price,” Panetta said.
While the former Secretary of Defense never said it outright, many believe Panetta implied that dismissed case, so many years ago, had a ripple effect that may have ultimately led to the death of the two Santa Cruz police officers last Tuesday.
(Gunny G: See What “The Folks” Are Saying About…) ~ Retired Gen. Stanley McChrystal says military-style guns don’t belong on the streets of America
Retired Gen. Stanley McChrystal called for “serious” gun control measures on Tuesday, saying the weapons used by his troops in Afghanistan don’t belong on the streets of America. McChrystal said the M4 Carbine he often carried in the military held a .223 caliber round capable of doing “devastating” damage to a human body.
“It’s designed to do that, and that’s what our soldiers ought to carry,” McChrystal said on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” Tuesday morning.
“I personally don’t think there’s any need for that kind of weaponry on the streets and particularly around the schools in America.”
Gabby Giffords launches group to counter gun lobby
A national initiative aimed at curbing gun violence was launched by former US. Rep. Gabrielle Giffords and her husband, Mark Kelly, on Tuesday — the second anniversary of the shooting that killed six people and left her critically injured.
A new campaign website, Americans For Responsible Solutions, promised to “launch a national dialogue and raise funds to counter influence of the gun lobby.”
The couple last week visited Newtown, Conn., where a gunman opened fire in an elementary school, killing 20 children and six adults in December. They also met with New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg, a gun control advocate.

Why Does the Teamsters Union Appear to Be Flying Its Union Flag Above the U.S. One Outside the
A photo depicting what appears to be the Teamsters Union flag improperly flying above the American flag outside the union’s D.C. headquarters on Tuesday was sent to TheBlaze, and the story of how a Marine veteran who tried to bring it to the group’s attention was treated is sure to raise eyebrows.
The photo was taken by the Marine at approximately 2:10 pm ET and sent to TheBlaze by his brother. Both have requested anonymity for fear of retaliation by the union. This is the picture:

Breaking: Romney did not win nomination

Incredible developments have emerged spelling out how Romney may not have actually taken the nomination, after all. Even with news circulating like wildfire that Romney secured the Republican nomination with an alleged win in Tuesday’s Texas Primary, it seems as though this may not actually be the case.
Ironically enough, Romney still may not have even taken Texas, yet. After a careful comb through the numbers, how the race is playing out and what delegate totals are emerging from the states, it seems as though Romney currently has only around half of the 1,144 delegates needed to win the Republican nomination. So, why is the ‘national’ media acting this way? Are they incorrectly still using the ‘estimated’ delegate totals, based on the initial caucuses and primaries from each state, while ignoring the actual delegate totals emerging as the states finally begin to conclude their weeks-long delegate selection processes?

Prison Planet.com » Rand Paul: Ron could win N.H. with independents
Rand Paul, speaking from the campaign trail in New Hampshire, predicted Monday that his father Ron Paul could emerge victorious in Tuesday’s primary if there is a sizable independent showing.
“I think there’s a remote chance we could pull an upset here if there is a large independent turnout — if all of a sudden, in the last two days, independents said, ‘We want to send a message, and we want to get out and vote,’” the Kentucky senator said.

Setting himself far apart from his Republican colleagues, Republican presidential candidate Rep. Ron Paul on Tuesday night suggested that the U.S. should have less involvement in Israel’s affairs.
“I think they’re quite capable of taking care of themselves,” he said.
The statement came in response to a question in a Tuesday night debate about whether the GOP candidates would, as president, support Israel in an attack against Iran.

Prison Planet.com » The Police State Vs. Occupy Wall Street: This Is Not Going To End Well For Any Of Us
November 17, 2011
Right now, we are watching the early rounds of a heavyweight fight between two extremely determined opponents. Occupy Wall Street has no plans of losing this fight and neither do law enforcement authorities. Perhaps those running the show actually believed that raiding Zuccotti Park and more than a dozen other “Occupy camps” around the nation would end these protests, but that is just not going to happen. Whatever your opinion of Occupy Wall Street is, everyone should be able to agree that this is one dedicated bunch. They are absolutely obsessed with their cause and in response to the recent raid on Zuccotti Park organizers are calling for “a national day of direct action” on Thursday.
