A mysterious new microsite promising an “October Surprise” for the presidential racepopped up online this week, and is promising to release damning documents related to one of the two candidates.
The presidential election is Nov. 6, but it could take days to figure out the winner if the vote is close. New voting laws are likely to increase the number of people who have to cast provisional ballots in key states.
Tight races for Congress, governor and local offices also could be stuck in limbo while election officials scrutinize ballots, a scenario that would surely attract legions of campaign lawyers from both parties.
Behind all these apparent changes in the rules of the game has been the increasing importance of new media, which makes political communication cheaper, more plentiful (for those who are interested) and harder to control.
The old gatekeepers — local politicos, TV news and newspapers — are increasingly bypassed. It’s a more polarized politics, but also one that is more democratic and more open.

The problem is where do you go?
I agree with you, if O wins then this country is doomed. I need somewhere to go. I wish all the right thinking people in this country would move to 1 or 2 states and just secede from the union. I could get behind a plan like that.
If the day after O got re-elected a message was sent out that right thinking americans should move to texas to prepare for secession I would do it in a second……….
