In a bizarre rant tying the government’s surveillance of Americans with the requests for documents related to Benghazi and the IRS, Glenn Beck drew comparisons between “the security state” and rape.

Whatever the US Government Is Planning, It Is Already Practicing by Bill Sardi… “The US Marines already had a biological response team named “America’s 911 Response Force,” a name for this military unit that was coined a year prior to the events that unfolded on 9-11-2001. This same unit of 350 US Marines practiced handling a crisis on the streets of New York City on September 11, 1998″

One thing we have learned since 9-11 is that government agencies practice whatever schemes they have in mind before they occur. Take for instance the events that took place prior to the attack on the Twin Towers in New York on 9-11-2001.

The US Marines already had a biological response team named “America’s 911 Response Force,” a name for this military unit that was coined a year prior to the events that unfolded on 9-11-2001. This same unit of 350 US Marines practiced handling a crisis on the streets of New York City on September 11, 1998. The drill even included handling the unexpected collapse of the World Trade Center towers. Believe it or not, this US Marine force even had a patch on their uniforms showing the World Trade Center twin towers!

So skip forward to the present time with me. I read a disturbing report in the Daily Mail, a UK publication. Dated March 8, 2013, the Daily Mail article describes a US Army Special Forces unit that had cancelled plans to conduct an exercise in Utah where infiltrators would be employed to “tame an indigenous population.”

The local FOX affiliate in Salt Lake City, Utah, has reported that the Utah Sheriff’s Association has written a strongly worded letter to President Barack Obama regarding any potential federal laws that would restrict the citizens of the State of Utah from practicing their Second Amendment rights.

The letter was signed by every sheriff in the State of Utah except one. The letter reads in part:

“With the number of mass shootings America has endured, it is easy to demonize firearms; it is also foolish and prejudiced. Firearms are nothing more than instruments, valuable and potentially dangerous, but instruments nonetheless. Malevolent souls, like the criminals who commit mass murders, will always exploit valuable instruments in the pursuit of evil. As professional peace officers, if we understand nothing else, we understand this: lawful violence must sometimes be employed to deter and stop criminal violence. Consequently, the citizenry must continue its ability to keep and bear arms, including arms that adequately protect them from all types of illegality.”

The letter also states: “We respect the Office of the President of the United States of America. But, make no mistake, as the duly-elected sheriffs of our respective counties, we will enforce the rights guaranteed to our citizens by the Constitution. No federal official will be permitted to descend upon our constituents and take from them what the Bill of Rights – in particular Amendment II – has given them. We, like you, swore a solemn oath to protect and defend the Constitution of the United States, and we are prepared to trade our lives for the preservation of its traditional interpretation.”

A massacre in 1857 in southwest Utah claimed the lives of some of their ancestors. What came to be called the Mountain Meadows Massacre shadows each generation, but Scott Fancher said the public knows little of “one of the single most important historical incidents” in the nation’s history.

 

“Apart from the Oklahoma City bombing, this was the single largest act of domestic white-on-white violence in the history of the U.S.,” he said.

Jason Chaffetz (R-Utah), who read excerpts of the emails at a House Judiciary Committee hearing on Justice Department oversight, Holder claimed that the phrase “Fast and Furious” did not refer to Fast and Furious but instead referred to another gun-walking operation known as “Wide Receiver.”

Republican Jon Huntsman today refused to rule out running as an independent candidate for president should he fail in his quest for his party’s 2012 nomination.

Jon HuntsmanAsked, “Is there any situation in which you would run for president as an independent?” Huntsman told The Boston Globe, “I don’t think so.”

Told that anything but a flat denial could perpetuate speculation about the possibility, Huntsman replied: “I’m a lifelong Republican. I’m running as a Republican, and I fully anticipate that that’s where we’re going to be.”

The former Utah governor has faced persistent speculation about an independent candidacy.

Supreme Court justice Clarence Thomas denounced his colleagues’ decision not to hear a case that would have allowed them to establish a clear standard for judging religious displays on government property.

“Today the Court rejects an opportunity to provide clarity to an Establishment Clause jurisprudence in shambles,” Thomas said in an Oct. 31 dissent.

He explained that the Supreme Court’s disjointed “jurisprudence has confounded the lower courts and rendered the constitutionality of displays of religious imagery on government property anyone’s guess.” Thomas’ dissenting opinion responded to the court’s decision to reject consideration of a prohibition on crosses placed along the roadside in Utah to commemorate fallen officers.

The case involved 12-foot-high white crosses placed by the Utah Highway Patrol Association at or near areas where officers had been killed in the line of duty.

American Atheists, Inc. sued Utah officials, claiming that the 13 crosses violated the establishment clause because they bore the symbol of the Utah Highway Patrol and many of them were located on state property.

Cops, Bystanders Lift Car to Free Trapped Boy (Video)

A Boca Raton Police officer‘s dashboard camera captured the dramatic rescue of a young boy Wednesday who was saved by cops and bystanders who lifted a car he was trapped under.

The incident happened around 8 a.m. at the Verde Elementary School after the 6-year-old tripped and fell and became pinned beneath the approaching car.

In the video, Officers Mike Daly, Bruce Sonnenblick and Ernie Bucinskas are seen lifting the car with the help of two bystanders so the boy can be pulled to safety.

The child was taken to Delray Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.

Orrin Hatch: I’m a tea party person (RINO Alert)

Calling himself a tea party true believer, Sen. Orrin Hatch (R-Utah) on Tuesday in the same interview both praised the debt ceiling deal and said he plans to vote against it.

Hatch, who faces a looming primary challenge from the right from Rep. Jason Chaffetz (R-Utah), took to Fox News’s “Fox and Friends” to tout his own tea party credentials.

“Look, I think the tea party people deserve a lot of credit,” he said in response to a question about Democrats and Vice President Joe Biden reportedly calling freshman GOP members of Congress terrorists.

“We wouldn’t be where we are without them. The fact of the matter is I’ve been a tea party person I think since before the tea party came into existence. I was one of the earliest supporters of Reagan. And all I can say is that, you know, it’s nice to throw that kind of language around, but the tea party people have helped bring about a change where they’re not going to increase taxes on this particular approach, and, yeah, the new joint committee could increase taxes, but I don’t believe that any Republican on there is going to want to increase taxes.”

Utah Park Ranger Pulls Woman Over for Driving Slow, Arrests Her for Trying to Film the Stop

Utah Park Ranger Steven Powers marked the 4th of July by pulling a woman over for driving too slowly, then yanking her out of her car and slapping on cuffs when the woman insisted on filming the stop with her phone. Unfortunately for Powers, that woman happened to be Celia Sullivan, “a longtime Photography is Not a Crime reader,” according to the site’s proprietor, Carlos Miller.

Sullivan is also 50 years old, a mother of two, and about as non-threatening a person as any cop could hope to interact with while miles away from backup. While Powers apparently thought Sullivan was driving under the influence, she was actually driving so slowly because she had lost her camera tripod on the side of the road.

I told PRSP (Park Ranger Steven Powers) that I was going to record him and said just a minute, let me grab my phone. PRSP decided that he didn’t have to be patient with me (like a good cop would), which is when he opened the door to my vehicle without my permission. I remember telling him just a second, I’m grabbing the documents and I grabbed my wallet too. I WAS NOT SCARED AT ALL. I was irritated but had no problem getting out of the vehicle but I was going to protect myself just in case. I had nothing to fear if he was good cop, and the video WOULD protect me if he was a bad cop.

And I remember telling him the video was for MY PROTECTION. I didn’t know what kind of person PRSP was, and he had a taser AND a gun.

I was all alone. Don’t forget that.

PRSP didn’t like the fact I was getting ready to record things because he grabbed my left wrist in an attempt to get me to drop the phone. I then said I can get out the car by myself, and turned and placed my feet on the ground and stood. This is where I complied with BOTH of his direct orders: I was out of the car, and I had my papers with me.

But he didn’t give me a chance to do anything else since he still had a hold of my wrist. With one motion, he twisted my left arm around to my back, and then at the same time saying you are under arrest for disobeying a direct order. I sank to my knees, dropped my papers phone and wallet and said over and over again you’ve got to be kidding, you’ve got to be kidding, are you kidding me.

Miller says that Sullivan was charged with “disobeying a lawful order” and “resisting arrest,” and was kept in handcuffs for 90 minutes before being released. To paraphrase Radley Balko, (not) another isolated incident.

I have to get this off my chest. Many of my readers seem to be under the false impression that I am a Republican pundit conservative. I’m really sick of that. I have absolutely no respect for either the GOP or the DNC. The only political party I can relate to in any way is the Libertarian party, but I don’t agree with them on every point either. I have a simple rule that works for me: I severely distrust all politicians all the time… always, every single one.

For those who wish to put me in a political right wing corner, who ask me to speak at political functions, who want me to join the tea party movement — stop. You really don’t know me. I’m not who you think I am. So, let me update you on a few things.

Federal Judge Blocks Utah Immigration Law A federal judge blocks a Utah law that would allow police to check the citizenship status of people they arrest. He cited its similarity to an Arizona immigration law now before federal courts.

May 11, 2011 SALT LAKE CITY —

A federal judge on Tuesday blocked a new immigration law in Utah that would have allowed police to check the citizenship status of anyone they arrest. Judge Clark Waddoups issued his ruling in Salt Lake City hours after the law went into effect, citing its similarity to an Arizona law now before federal courts.

T he American Civil Liberties Union and National Immigration Law Center had sued to stop the law, warning that its implementation could lead to racial profiling. Utah Assistant Atty. Gen. Jerrold Jensen said the ruling was “not a surprise.”

Jensen said after the hearing that the law was “fully constitutional” and that his office planned to “argue it vigorously.”

The next hearing on the matter is set for July 14.

Several national publications recently speculated that Sen. Orrin Hatch was purposely deleting pages from his official website in an attempt to preserve his conservative bona fides. Hatch’s office, however, squashed the rumors by thoroughly clarifying that the elimination of certain web pages was an “internal decision” related to the launch of “a brand new website.”

Here’s a timeline of what transpired: Darren Elliot wrote a piece for Salon on Thursday revisiting the Presidential Eligibility Amendment, a 2003 bill introduced by Hatch that would allow foreign-born American citizens to run for president — a stance which at the time was primarily aimed clearing the path for the political ascendancy of Arnold Schwarzenegger but that today would almost certainly be anathema to “birthers” and a majority of tea partiers.

The very next day Elliot followed up with another article, this time stating: “Less than 24 hours after the (Thursday) piece went up, a tech blogger discovered that the section of Hatch’s website that mentioned the ‘Presidential Eligibility Amendment’ had mysteriously disappeared.”

(CNSNews.com) – As the Obama administration demands another increase in the U.S. debt limit, Americans taxpayers are demanding spending restraint, Sen. Orrin Hatch (R-Utah) told the Senate Finance Committee on Wednesday.

He said Congress must attach fiscal reforms to legislation increasing the debt ceiling. Hatch also warned his fellow lawmakers what could happen if the fiscal reforms, once enacted, “fall prey to gimmicks, are waived or otherwise undermined.”

“My sense is that the people will come to this Capitol with pitchforks and torches they will be so upset. And they’d be right to do so,” Hatch said.

History shows that fiscal reforms can leave people feeling betrayed and disappointed, when Congress inevitably goes back to its big-spending ways, Hatch said.

After participating in the pursuit of famed bandit Pancho Villa in the early 20th century, the Browning M1911 automatic pistol is again making history—becoming the first-ever official firearm of a U.S. state.

In deciding to establish a state firearm, Utah lawmakers settled on the M1911 pistol because its creator, legendary gun maker John Browning, was born and lived a large part of his life in the state. Browning also founded his company in Utah.

The 100-year-old handgun was adopted by the U.S. Army in 1911 and used by an expeditionary force that invaded Mexico five years later to hunt down Villa. It remained standard issue until 1985.
