Thailand – Retirement Escape from Marxist Amerika… “Escape cultural Marxism, PC, Etc… ” – henrymakow.com

Here in Thailand, I rarely see a policeman. I have no idea what the police do all day, but they don’t seem too eager to prey on the freedom of the local people. There isn’t the heavy hand of government here, so you can sense a joy of living, a positive outlook, that has disappeared in our Western countries.

…..The vast majority of the public will react negatively to the use of the word anarchy. Through false description and definition imposed on them through government run schools and reinforced by media and social entertainment they have been lead to believe that only bad things could happen in a world with no government.

I mentioned the DoD idiocy that is a most impressive species of accounting illiteracy.

When psychoanalysis came to America, it was largely viewed as an unproven system of thought. Though no evidence was available, psychoanalysis began to dominate American culture for more than fifty years.

Moreover, psychoanalysis began to replace the Western foundation of the soul. When Freud came into the scene, everything changed. Jewish scholar Andrew R. Heine argues,

When it starts to collapse, it’s going to happen very fast. If people don’t wake up to what is going on, they’re going to get hurt…. We have to now get as far away from the US and from the Western world because this collapse is going to be messy.”

On his site, he states, “I recorded this video a couple of weeks ago. It is my message to America and in it; I attempt to explain the global implications of the upcoming US elections.”

“This election is the most crucial in modern American history. It is not primarily about jobs and economics, it is about national security and, to be blunt, national survival,” said Loudon.

Loudon stated that America, and the entire Western World would face destruction if [communist sympathizer] Barack Obama is returned to office.

The Hottest Trend out of Hollywood: “War Sells!” | Global Research

March 1, 2013 1 comment

In this day and age, “selling war” on the big screen has become a vastly lucrative enterprise, and business is booming. This past week, television broadcasters worldwide have been particularly enthusiastic in celebrating a glorified image of war and violence as promoted by big media and the film industry.

sgtstryker

Last Sunday’s Academy Awards ceremony generously bestowed its highest accolades on films unsurprisingly produced by the West that effectively and insidiously distort the truth on armed conflict and feed large demographics completely biased and inaccurate views of war theatres around the globe.

What the corporate-funded Hollywood propaganda machine counts on is that not only will the broad viewing public buy into its invented “truths”, but that in doing so the idea of war – in particular the absurd oxymoron of “humanitarian war” – will come to be increasingly accepted by a populace growing more and more numb to the violence being splashed across its screens.

Freedom of Speech In The West Is Constrained By The “Conspiracy Theory” Label | EUTimes.net

September 20, 2012 1 comment

What would free speech icon Voltaire say about the political and social marginalization of the 9/11 truth movement?

“Have patience awhile; slanders are not long-lived. Truth is the child of time; erelong she shall appear to vindicate thee.” – Immanuel Kant.

“A public can only arrive at enlightenment slowly. Through revolution, the abandonment of personal despotism may be engendered and the end of profit-seeking and domineering oppression may occur, but never a true reform of the state of mind. Instead, new prejudices, just like the old ones, will serve as the guiding reins of the great, unthinking mass.

All that is required for this enlightenment is freedom; and particularly the least harmful of all that may be called freedom, namely, the freedom for man to make public use of his reason in all matters. But I hear people clamor on all sides: Don’t argue! The officer says: Don’t argue, drill! The tax collector: Don’t argue, pay! The pastor: Don’t argue, believe!” – Immanuel Kant.

biases, which will then reveal not only his motives, but the

intentions of the people who groomed him to take the seat of U.S. power. As everyone knows, we’ve got a major problem with this as the American people have been denied access to the most basic documentation about Obama’s past, from his actual birth certificateto his college and passport records.

It is important to understand that the reason for sealing off Obama’s past is to prevent people from seeing the larger agenda of the man and the people who rose in an inexplicable meteoric fashion to the highest levels of public office – and entities and people behind him.

Prison Planet.com » DRONE: Rise of the Autonomous Super Soldier

September 3, 2012 Leave a comment

A dystopian science fiction plot has indeed entered our reality whereby machines have not only supplanted humans on the battlefield and in the workforce, but they can now work together and make decisions on their own.

Autonomous machine warfare is here. And similar to all military experimentation, the technology has a coincidental way of trickling down to be experienced by everyday citizens and consumers, such as augmented reality applications.

The foundation for drone bombings abroad is the very same that is ready to escalate across the Western world. Fleets of weaponized surveillance drones with the ability to communicate amongst themselves and wage war independently is part of a project called MUSIC. It integrates unmanned and manned aircraft in combat, and has been displayed as a showcase of aircraft interoperability.

These aircraft also possess the ability to exchange and use the information as needed, whether it is to conduct surveillance or reconnaissance of a given area. This interoperability creates a Universal Ground Control Station, or network of drones and their payloads. (Source)

This is what is open to the public now. Imagine 10 years from now. A new webseries called DR0NE postulates some of what we can expect.

Prison Planet.com » Psychoanalyst Says Western Society Is Sick And Heading For Collapse

June 14, 2012 1 comment

Western society has behaved neurotically for the past twenty years and needs to be cured.

Professor Mark Stein draws this conclusion in a psychoanalysis of the financial crisis (via Steve Keen).

Symptoms of denial, omnipotence, triumphalism and over-activity were manifest in reaction to a series of crises—the fall of the Soviet Union, the Japanese and the Asian/LTCM crises—when the West did not respond with caution but instead by increasing risk:

I suggest that these ruptures caused considerable anxiety among these leaders, but that, rather than heeding the lessons of these crises, such leaders responded by manic, omnipotent and triumphant attempts to prove the superiority of their economies in relation to the vulnerabilities thrown up by these ruptures.

The Looming Reversal of Centralization by Gary North

May 20, 2012 Leave a comment

“Centralization induces apoplexy at the center and anemia at the extremities.” ~ Lamenais

The present political system is clearly insane. It suffers from schizophrenia. Around the world, almost no one trusts the politicians, yet almost everyone votes for incumbent politicians who promise to reform the government.

Voters now suspect (correctly) that all Western governments are headed for bankruptcy because of the pension programs and government-funded medicine, yet these two programs are politically untouchable. Voters demand them.

Gary North speaking at the Mises Institute aft...

Gary North speaking at the Mises Institute after receiving the Institute’s Rothbard Medal (Photo credit: Wikipedia)

For four decades, soft-core critics of the pension/Medicare systems have come to voters with this announcement: “The two systems can be reformed, but we must act now. If we delay, they will bankrupt the government.” Yet the systems are never reformed.

Then, a decade later, the next group of optimistic reformers comes forward with this same promise: “The systems can be reformed if we just act now.” Nobody believes them. Nobody should. If the programs really can be reformed “if we act now,” then the previous warnings were mere scaremongering. There really was no hurry. So, Congress asks rhetorically: “Why should we believe that we need to hurry now?” Result: the systems never get reformed. Congress kicks the can.

THE GREAT DEFAULT

The federal government really is headed for default. The numbers don’t lie. This fact produces pessimism in some circles. People who look at the numbers conclude, accurately, that the federal government will not muddle through this crisis. All over the world, national governments will not muddle through. They will no longer be able to kick the can.

Will Pastors Risk Tax-Free Status to Help Save America?—Calling Black Robe Regiment II

April 29, 2012 Leave a comment

By Kelly OConnell Sunday, April 29, 2012

imageLong before America’s current absolute separation of church and state, colonial pastors regularly preached on politics. According to historians, 18th century sermons decisively encouraged future revolutionaries to resist King George. Moreover, in Western history, important and far-reaching political doctrines were typically deduced first by pastors, Christian professors, and believing philosophers, etc. In fact, without these eminent and brave men, there would be no modern free and prosperous West.

But today, American Believers languish in a ghetto assembled for anyone suggesting religion should influence public policy. Yet, as our currency reveals, previously such influences were assumed. If our forebears were under the same secularist strictures seen today, the early West would have never escaped mediocrity.

This essay argues the Bible contains unique standards regarding mankind which, when correctly applied, benefit and protect everyone. Further, ministers, many loathe to mention politics for fear of government reprisal, must preach these things without dread. The only way these men can truly serve their flocks is by preaching the whole Gospel, not avoiding some because of menacing government masters. Remember Acts, 5:27-29

The apostles were brought before the Sanhedrin (Jewish Council) for questioning by the high priest. “We gave you strict orders not to teach in this name,” he said. “Yet you have filled Jerusalem with your teaching and are determined to make us guilty of this man’s blood.” Peter and the other apostles replied: “We must obey God rather than human beings!”

Prison Planet.com » Fear of Tyranny Is Now Treated As A Psychiatric Disorder In The West

April 8, 2012 2 comments

The modern totalitarian state is the psychotherapist for the whole of society. It acts on the elitist principle that it knows everything and the people deserve to be mind controlled and brainwashed for their own good.Defenders of the totalitarian system demonize their democratic critics as insane, and suppress political speech with the mind control techniques that have grown out of modern psychological and mental health research.

If you point out their contradictions, lies, and inconsistencies in their narratives, they call you a conspiracy theorist and chew you out with psycho-babble. And if you acknowledge that you fear their despotic vision for Western society and the world, they call you paranoid and say you have a psychiatric disorder. It does not matter what twisted and perverted ideology that the totalitarian power-seekers hide behind. It could be Communism, Nazism, Islamism, Neoconservativism, or Environmentalism.

Every “ism” is a thought-control prison. Citizens are suppressed in the same manner under every totalitarian hellhole by their mental overlords.Anti-democratic elites in all totalitarian prisons use the language of mental health to dismiss dissenters and enforce their dogmatic beliefs and totalitarian policies on an unwilling public.

In 2009, Brendan O’Neill of Spiked.com wrote a powerful essay called, “The Psychologisation of Dissent: The Global Warming Skepticism Mental Disorder,” about how the West is following in the footsteps of the Soviet Union.

Government Increasingly Set as Only Source of “True Knowledge”

March 18, 2012 Leave a comment

An astounding transformation in the concept of truth has occurred the last few decades in America. No longer are statements or ideas accepted simply on their soundness or logical consistency. In fact, logic often has no impact upon an idea’s popularity. Increasingly, an idea needs official government backing before it is deemed “true.” This change bodes extreme danger for the future of our democracy.

The migration of the theory of acceptable belief within society from publicly accessible debate into an increasingly exclusive domain of government ownership is not merely dangerous, but also logically perverse. It would make irrelevant the First Amendment, since if only government-blessed statements are defensible, the general public need not bother trying to add any others.

How exactly this change is occurring is a fascinating question. Without doubt, it’s happened while government has grown towards supreme authority while the church’s traditional role of defender of truth has withered away. Also, the demise of the liberal arts teaching model has played a prominent role. This metamorphosis was achieved not by accident but by systematic attack upon the West’s institutions. Further, wholesale prostitution of the journalistic profession made these facts easy to obscure. We are left with an echo-chamber repeating the worst of progressive ideas while a complicit media beds down like the Octomom in procreative mode with leftist politicos.

Prison Planet.com » Netanyahu Advisor Advocates Mass Starvation Against Iran

March 1, 2012 Leave a comment

Ynet reports that an advisor of Bibi Netanyahu has suggested that the world starve Iran into submission: Iran’s citizens should be starved in order to curb Tehran’s nuclear program, officials in Jerusalem said Wednesday ahead of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s upcoming trip to Washington.

North Korea is halting its nuclear program in order to receive aid in food, and this is what should be done with Iran as well,” one unnamed official said. “Suffocating sanctions could lead to a grave economic situation in Iran and to a shortage of food,” the source said. “This would force the regime to consider whether the nuclear adventure is worthwhile, while the Persian people have nothing to eat and may rise up as was the case in Syria, Tunisia and other Arab states.”

“The Western world led by the United States must implement stifling sanctions at this time already, rather than wait or hesitate,” the official said. “In order to suffocate Iran economically and diplomatically and lead the regime there to a hopeless situation, this must be done now, without delay.”While it appears true that North Korea has agreed to suspend uranium enrichment and announced a moratorium on nuclear tests, it has not cancelled or ended its nuclear program as the Israeli official says. In fact, while the U.S. welcomed the announcement, it said it said it was “limited.”

As for starvation, it has been a North Korean fact of life for two decades or more. Chances are this change of policy has a lot more to do with a new leader taking over the country, than starvation proving an effective strategic tool. Besides, North Korea has entered into such talks before and then deserted them only to resume enrichment and testing. So gloating over this development is premature until we see whether it will produce long-term results.

Besides being a massive violation of international law, starvation as a tactic simply doesn’t work. Anyone remember the hundreds of thousands of children dying of malnutrition in Saddam’s Iraq? That worked pretty well there, didn’t it?

How about the Nazi siege of Leningrad that killed millions and led to longstanding hatreds between Russia and Germany?

(“Voters have been fooled into thinking they are participating in their own political destiny when, in reality, they are being herded into a high-tech feudalism entirely without their consent and, to a large degree, even without their knowledge…”) The Heart of the Beast: Fabian Socialism

February 19, 2012 Leave a comment

The result of this two-party charade is that Americans – and those in most other countries in the Western World – are the victims of a great deception.

Voters have been fooled into thinking they are participating in their own political destiny when, in reality, they are being herded into a high-tech feudalism entirely without their consent and, to a large degree, even without their knowledge. This is accomplished by the mirage of a meaningful choice at election time when, in fact, the major parties and their candidates are merely two branches of the same tree of collectivism. Voters today are not attracted to candidates because of their political principles. They have none. Political principles are never allowed as a topic of debate, anyway.

Instead, voters make choices on the basis of candidates’ good looks, their smiles, how clever they are in televised debates, their perceived sincerity, and especially how many “benefits” they promise to give to some citizens that are paid from taxes from other citizens. Legalized plunder is a powerful motivator, and it is used with precision by both major parties.”

U.S. sanctions on Iran are “acts of war.” The Iranian government, which views the sanctions, along with assassinations of its nuclear scientists and belligerent rhetoric from Washington, as precursors to “regime change,” is seeking to obtain nuclear weapons “as a deterrent to foreign intervention.” War could occur at any moment, and the only way to avert it with any certainty is for “Western powers [to] imagine how the situation looks from Tehran.”

This may sound like a Ron Paul stump speech. But in fact, it is the essence of a recentBloomberg article by Vali Nasr, a Middle East expert with contacts in the government of Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khameni. Nasr’s piece, says Robert Wright of the Atlantic, vindicates the Texas Republican’s “sheer conjecture” about Iran’s interpretation of Western actions as “acts of war.”

Paul’s “conjecture,” of course, was based on a simple understanding of human nature. If Oceania routinely threatens Eastasia and begins punishing it, the Eastasian people and their government are not going to sit idly by and allow their country to be destroyed. They will fight back. Then Oceania will escalate the conflict further, Eastasia will respond in kind, and so on, until a full-scale war is under way.

The United States did not create the monster that wrecked the Middle East in the second half of the 20th century, but it certainly helped.

Few realize how US policy at the start of the radical Islamist era in Middle East history parallels the policy that prevailed at the beginning of the previous, Arab nationalist, era that began in the 1950s. At that time, American policymakers believed Arab nationalist military officers would be moderate, pro-Western, enhance stability and fight totalitarianism.

Today, the policymakers expect that revolutionary Islamism will do the same thing.

In the opening article to this series, ” Marxist Revolution of the West ,” I explained that the revolution that has all but destroyed Western civilization, and is in its final stages in every aspect of Western society and culture, though explicitly planned and initiated by avowed Marxists, it was contributions of other individuals, movements, and institutions that made it possible for the revolution to be so spectacularly pulled off. The interrelationships between these various contributors to the revolution is very complex. There are six major threads of influence which I have identified and in terms of which all the complexity of that revolution can be explained.

Six Anti-Western Anti-civlizing Threads

The six threads are: 1. Cultural Marxism; 2. Post Modernism; 3. Psychology; 4. Sociology; 5. Education; and 6. Humanism.

Cultural Marxism is the movement initiated by the avowed Marxists, Antonio Gramsci, Georg Lukacs, Wilhelm Reich, Erich Fromm, Herbert Marcuse, Theodor Adorno, and Max Horkheimer and others of the Frankfurt School. These men made it clear in their writing, teaching, speeches, and lectures that a complete revolution of Western society and the eventual establishment of a one-world socialist order was and is their intention.

Will America Survive to 2025?? BOOK WARNS OF END

BOOK WARNS OF END Fri Oct 14 2011 07:00:25 ET

**Exclusive**

“As the faith that gave birth to the West is dying in the West, peoples of European descent from the steppes of Russia to the coast of California have begun to die out, as the Third World treks north to claim the estate. The last decade provided corroborating if not conclusive proof that we are in the Indian Summer of our civilization.”

So begins Pat Buchanan in his hardcore work, SUICIDE OF A SUPERPOWER.

“Will America Survive to 2025?”

Buchanan, set for maximum controversy, launches all rockets at introduction “Disintegrating Nation” — and does not let up for 400-plus pages.

“America is disintegrating. The centrifugal forces pulling us apart are growing inexorably. What unites us is dissolving. And this is true of Western Civilization….Meanwhile, the state is failing in its most fundamental duties. It is no longer able to defend our borders, balance our budgets, or win our wars.”

Defeating the West Via the Womb – the Islamic Invasion (Scary Video)

September 24, 2011 Leave a comment

While the citizens of Western civilizations have been preoccupied with their own selfish interests, those of the Islamic world have been busy populating a world their children and grandchildren will control. In America, Canada, and Europe, the citizens have been limiting the number of children in their families. Personally, I believe the reasons they chose to limit the number of their offspring are purely selfish.

Women want to have a career, and that is difficult to do if they are having children every 2 or 3 years. As for the men, they have bought into the idea that they will never be able to make enough money to support more than 1 or 2 children. Then there is the desire to put off having a family until they have made it, but in a world where everyone is trying to keep up with each other, no one really ever makes it. Regardless the excuses given, this behavior has led to the citizens of the West reproducing at a rate of about 1.8 per family, which is not even close to the reproduction rate of immigrants.

I could also go on and on as to the methods women in the West use to limit the number of their children, but this post is not about the methods of birth control used to achieve their goal. No, as you will learn from the video below, this column is about the devastating consequences we must now face because of their decisions.

The result of such selfish decisions by Western civilizations as a whole, is the capitulation of their children’s freedom to control their own lives in the future. While the citizens of the West are preoccupied with living a life that is free of anyone’s control, even God‘s, they are condemning their descendants to a life of bondage at the hands of a religion that…..

Iran Considering Attacking U.S. Facilities in Mideast

September 23, 2011 Leave a comment

Destroying American military positions in the Middle East is the most effective method to get the “Great Satan” to abandon the region, Iran now believes.

“The Islamic Awakening in the region has overthrown many of the heads of states who were puppets of the West,” according to a recent analysis by the Mahramaneh online website, which is close to Iran’s supreme leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. “It is simple-minded for us to assume that America and the West in general would sit by and forget about devising new conspiracies for derailing and taking control of the revolutions.”

Therefore, the analysis concludes, an America weakened by economic and military crises makes preemptive assaults on U.S. targets all the more inviting.

The radicals ruling Iran have long believed that due to internal U.S. problems, America can no longer sustain its activities in the Middle East and is bound to pack up and leave eventually. Now these radicals believe that they could attack American forces in the region, starting a regional war with America, and have a good chance at winning it.

They further believe that by initiating such a war, not only will they further influence the Islamic movement in the region, but they will come out as the leaders of this movement worldwide.

“Evidently what America and the West are currently pursuing,” the analysis says, “is, in the first place, the veering of the populist revolutions toward their large Middle East project (Western-style governments), and in case that project fails, they will do everything in their power to start a religious war among the Muslims; a Sunni-Shia war would be their choice.”

Deadly conflict continues in Iraq between Sunnis and Shias, and Muslim backlash festers in such places as Egypt, Yemen, and Bahrain. Iran, predominately Shia, is vying for influence…

Governor Perry’s Islam Connection

September 3, 2011 Leave a comment

The news of Governor Rick Perry jumping into the Republican nomination race for president released a media tsunami that assaulted my brain. In no time at all, people came up with a long list of negatives about him. In a democracy, honest and thorough scrutiny of anyone’s records seeking a public office is not only the prerogative of the electorate, but its duty.

Being a lifelong critic of Islam, red flags popped up in my head at Perry’s purported cozy relationship with Islam and prompted me to look very closely at the governor’s record on this particular issue and at this specific time.

[snip]

The nuggets of the Muslim history curriculum Perry helped coordinate in Texas are summarized below. It says:

1. Countries of Western Civilization have secular governments, which means great toleration of cultural and religious differences.

2. Countries of Islamic Civilization for the most part either have religiously dominated governments or demands to make them more religious, which means less toleration of cultural and religious differences.

3. Muslims often lack respect for Western traditions and points of view. The Muslim relationship to the West is colored by the belief that Western beliefs [whether Christian or atheist] are defective and therefore inferior to Islam.

No matter how I tried, I couldn’t reach the conclusion that this inclusion promotes Islam or is pro-Sharia. It seems that the mere fact that Islam is included in the curriculum represents supporting it.

And with regard to the concern that the education curriculum Perry promoted is pro-Arab and against Israel, the evidence is exactly the opposite. The lesson on Israel reads:

[snip]

Criticism flew Rick Perry’s way fast and furiously and from all directions. Here, Alana Goodman in Commentary bats a big one down……

Learning Something from the Streets?

August 11, 2011 Leave a comment

Thousands of pages have already been written in explication of the British rioting and (quite lesser incidence of) American flash mobbing. If one combines these analyses with direct news accounts, op-eds, Youtube confessionals, and official government pronouncements describing constantly changing strategies, I think one can draw three disinterested conclusions.

1. Material well-being is now defined in relative rather than absolute terms. That is, poverty means lacking the opportunities afforded the 21st-century upper middle classes, not in being deprived, in a Dickensian sense, of food (obesity, not hunger, is a Western epidemic), shelter, hot water, or access to transportation.

2. There is a natural assumption that inequality is attributable to oppression of some sort, rather than luck, fate, circumstances of birth, hard work, education, and all the multitude of complex factors that determine that a few work for $200 an hour and far more earn $20 or less. That someone appears more fortunate ipso facto seems somewhat unfair, without much reflection about the unique circumstances that bestow such advantages (or the unfairness of nature herself in blessing only some with talent or good health), as if the emergency-room surgeon or nuclear-plant engineer was allotted such privileged employment rather than sacrificed to earn it.

3. There is a general expectation that the better-off, or even the middle class, as well as government and society at large, are either unable or unwilling to defend their values and accomplishments — or even to demonstrate much belief in their own innate good. This seems to be well known to the miscreant offenders who have little fear and less respect for “authority.” Perhaps it is because we in the West have ruined our education system and most of our youth are thus amnesiac, with no knowledge of past conditions or of the work and bequests of prior, far more deprived generations. Perhaps it is because our ethos frowns on rewarding good behavior and punishing bad — not that we can define either very easily these days. So when rioters hit the British streets, the ruling classes and technocratic elite debate over whether non-lethal force such as plastic bullets and water cannon could be seen as excessive, and an aristocracy wonders out loud whether society itself is to blame for the torching of a food market. (One’s physical proximity to the mayhem often calibrates such abstract speculations).

Very few Westerners proudly say that their social, political, and economic system has given untold numbers untold material wealth unimagined not just a century but even two decades ago, as well as a level of freedom of expression, security of the person, and consumer indulgence that would seem staggering to most non-Westerners today. Instead, the more fortunate classes adopt a therapeutic sense of publicly expressed guilt that seems rightly phony to the dispossessed, and is seen by themselves as a sort of medieval penance, an abstract caring that justifies their own concrete and rather segregated enjoyment of the good life. As for the law, it is too often a construct predicated on fluid social, race, and class considerations, and thus — whether in enforcing immigration statutes or arresting and trying hordes of attackers — not so easily applied. In general the misdemeanor of the law-abiding citizen is more of a target than the felony of the miscreant — the latter always being a money-losing and sometimes far more dangerous enterprise.

To start to address these pathologies would in the short term make things worse, since the transformation from state dependence to self-reliance and a change from a [blank]-studies curriculum to a classically defined menu of basic math, science, language, literature, history, etc. would provoke a level of social disruption and anger that few politicians would be willing to endure. (The problem is not really going from a separatist salad bowl to a unifying melting pot, but rather that so few people these days know much about a common culture and have the expertise and confidence to teach anyone its history and protocols.)

A final note: Furor often arises not over draconian cuts to entitlements per se, but over suggested cuts to the expansion of subsidies, and the most aggrieved at such cutbacks are not always just the recipients but also the worried state stewards who administer and are invested in the system of state support.

Reports of America’s death are greatly exaggerated

August 7, 2011 Leave a comment

A number of influential thinkers had concluded that the era of U.S. dominance was coming to an end. The military was overstretched, debt was overwhelming, the East’s new economies were taking over and no one was listening to the Yanks.

SNIP

A few things should be kept in mind. First, pay attention to what happened when markets plummeted Thursday: Precious metals, the euro and the loonie also tumbled as investors fled to the safety of U.S. Treasury securities.

The greenback remains the world’s haven. Despite two years of deliberate currency devaluation (and more to come), the U.S. dollar remains the preferred currency of reserve, exchange, account and savings – not because it’s stable but because there’s nothing else on the horizon. Countries have snapped up all the Brazilian real securities they can find, China’s yuan isn’t trusted and the euro has lost whatever reputation it had.

Second, note that Washington’s debt emergency was not a real event created by economic circumstances but a political event created by a partisan showdown. The U.S. debt burden would be eliminated almost immediately if Congress would implement tax measures of the sort that Canada and most Western countries have. The fact that Congress won’t do so is deeply damaging to the U.S. economy and its citizens’ livelihood, but it’s not inevitably related to America’s standing in the world.

And third, ignore those tales of military decline. Yes, Afghanistan and Iraq were either failures or break-evens, but so were the first three big wars the U.S. fought after the Second World War. Yes, military spending is being slashed, but only to mid-2000s levels, still giving the U.S. more force than all other major armies combined.

Gerald Celente: ‘Economic Martial Law Will Be Declared’ by Mac Slavo

August 2, 2011 Leave a comment

In his latest quarterly Trends Journal (Summer 2011), Gerald Celente provides us another “history of the future,” in which he discusses global economic, monetary, and political events as they happen and what their consequences will be for months, years and decades to come. As he has said before, it is only a matter of time before a major terror attack is executed in a major Western nation. And once it happens it will send shock waves throughout the world, leading to mass global panic and a further tightening of the noose around the necks of the populace:

What will another major terror strike mean? Should an attack hit one of the major NATO nations, the effects, this time, will go global. Bank holidays will be called, the US and other fragile economies will crumble, gold and silver will soar, and already-troubled currencies will crash. Economic martial law will be declared. Introduced as a temporary measure, once in place it will remain in place (like the curfews and draconian security precautions installed by despots and dictators everywhere). Civil rights will be suspended and, particularly in America, Homeland Security, already intolerably intrusive, will achieve an Orwellian omnipresence.

Whom Does the Law Serve? by Paul Craig Roberts

Whereas the police are required to respond to charges by questioning the accused, they are not supposed to make a public spectacle of him in order to create the impression that he is guilty before he is even charged. Yet DSK was arrested aboard an airliner as it was about to depart for France and portrayed by the police as a fleeing criminal. Photos were released of him in handcuffs and stripped of his business attire.

The judge refused bail to one of the West’s most high profile persons on the basis of the prosecutor’s statement that DSK would flee the country and hide out abroad. All of this quickly was passed to reporters, who obliged the prosecutors and police by portraying DSK as obviously guilty as he was apprehended fleeing from the country.

The police even planted the story that DSK was in such a hurry to flee that he left behind his cell phone and that that is how they found him. This was a ball-faced lie. The fact of the matter is that when DSK arrived at the airport, he discovered that he had left his cell phone and called the hotel, the scene of the alleged crime, to ask that it be retrieved and brought to him at the airport. When the police boarded his flight, he asked them, “Did you bring my cell phone.” He had no idea the police were there to detain him for questioning.

Saving 1 Billion People from Themselves

The West is almost as in love with improving the world, as the Muslim world is with conquering it. These two contradictory impulses, the missionary and the warrior, intersect in the Clash of Civilizations. The Muslim world has two approaches to the West, underhanded deceit and outright terror. The former are considered moderates and the latter extremists. The West has two approaches to the Muslim world, regime change and love bombing. With regime change we bomb their cities to save them from their rulers and with love bombing we shamelessly flatter and appease them in our own cities.

Westerners worry a great deal over who runs the Muslim world. Muslims do not care very much who runs Western countries. They prefer weak liberal leaders to strong ones, but they do not overall think there is a difference between them. Even the emplacement of

Gaddafi: America’s easy target?

The US opts not to interfere in the internal affairs of its allies in the region, no matter how grave the situation becomes. Vijay Prashad, the Director of International Studies at Trinity College explained Libya was an easy target in the region, a non-US ally who does not walk in-step with the West. And, the UN resolution on Libya is so vague it doesn’t differentiate well between civilians and rebels – opening the door for the coalition to support the rebels above and beyond humanitarian needs.

A People Betrayed: West Launches New War for Oil in Libya

And so now, another war. Led by the United States and the religious extremists in Saudi Arabia, the UN Security Council voted to intervene on behalf of one side in the Libyan civil war.

Having already armed and trained Moamar Gadafy’s armies and security forces, the Western war-profiteers have now decided to do the same for his opponents. These opponents, it must be noted, are at present led by top players who only weeks ago were at the center of Gadafy’s murderous, repressive regime — which was itself, only weeks ago, considered a worthy partner by Western governments and business interests. As As’ad AbuKhalil — a fierce critic of Gadafy for many years –noted today, before the UN vote:

The Libyan people have been betrayed. Their revolution against the Libyan tyrant has been hijacked by US and Saudi Arabia. That lousy henchman for Qadhdhafi, Mustafa Abd-Al-Jali [leader of the rebel's Libyan National Transition Council], is now a Saudi stooge who hijacked the uprising on behalf of a foreign agenda. I mean, what do you expect from a man who until the other day held the position of Minister of Justice in Qadhdhafi’s regime, for potato’s sake? And don’t you like it when Western media constantly refer to him as “the respected Libyan minister of Justice.” Respected by who? By Western governments……
